Ruby: Hello!! :D Oh, your sister Moon lives--away? :) I guess I always assumed she was at home yet--not sure why. ;))

Don't know why, though: it's pain in both cases. Maybe because I have control of the one.

Hehe, reminds me of my Dad. ;)) When we would cry without stopping for minutes on end because we had a minor injury he would ask us if we needed a "pain reliever"... ;)) Sometimes that helped us shape up a bit sooner and stop feeling sorry for ourselves. ;))
Delicious looking basket of fruit! :D I think once we had a bridal shower held at our house and someone brought a "fruit bouquet" like that.. It was yummy. :D

We may be going to see Oceans on Sunday. It's heading out of theatres here, but I would love for my parents to see it (as well as me ;) ): I'm a big lover of the sea and its creatures.

Did you go see it?? :) If so, did you enjoy it? :)

I don't know how that is supposed to be spelled.

Hehe, actually, I was reading a book today/yesterday that had it spelled--something like "gung-ho" or "gung-hoe"... I always pronounced it without the "g" at the end. ;))
And actually, they only filled one cavity instead of both of them! :p Not sure why, I guess they thought it was too much for one sitting. ;) I had a hard enough time talking with just half my mouth numb, so I'm glad they saved the other half for later, even though it will be another trip into town... ;))
I forget why, but I was thinking about you the other day--Oh yeah, something to do with Robin Hood. And your Username. And spellings and other names. And nicknames. And--nothing really important. :p
Ah yes, now that NaNo is over, all the fun chats in the chat room are over too... :( Until November. ;) I suppose they don't have to be over--but you can't go on expecting other people there most times. :p

PC004: Housework, huh? How fun.. :p Oh, and something random: On the "People you may know" list, I keep seeing your parents' names... and until just recently I thought they were your siblings, not your Dad and Mom... :p Heh heh. Um, yeah. :p

haha yeah I brush my teeth at least four times a day ;)) . But today I had a very painful visit at the dentist. I got some bonding done and I guess that process involves freezing your teeth off :| . Very painful.

:-o Wow. I usually brush once or twice. :p Heh heh. My brother brush almost zilch though. :p And ouch. :( Doesn't sound fun!!

So is "Oceans" worth watching, despite the cows and hippos?

;)) Hm, well--I thought the cinematography was utterly astounding! I'd say it'd be worth the watch--in theaters you get the huge big screen with HD, etc... but I don't know if you'd want to spend that much money on it either. ;)) So-worth watching, yes. That much money? Maybe not. But then you don't get the big screen... ;))

MerlinJunkie's Youtube channel (I think he/she has both season 1 and 2). They're uploaded as "Leather Wonderpants". :-?? ;)) I'd post a link, but I can't access YT on this computer. :(

Oh, ok!! Thanks so much! I'll have to check that out!! :D :D And wow. Interesting--uh--title. ;)) lol

I'm guessing this is Jane Austen-style dancing? Or reels and minuets and such?

A bit of both I believe. :D

I hope your brother's party goes well, do you have a lot of guests coming over? And do have fun sewing your skirts, what colour of fabric did you get? :)

Yes, we probably had 80-100 guests! :D Quite a few aunts and uncles from my Dad's side, and then a ton of friends from church and our old church and various other places. ;))
The fabric I got is blue for one skirt, and brown with a bit of red raspberries or something for the other one. ;)) Right now I'm still trying to finish up a green blouse though. ;))
Anything new? :)

*skims*

Miss Rosa: Cavity filling went fine I guess. ;)) As fine as it can go. :p It's not a horrible experience--and it was shorter then I expected. :)

What's been going on for ya? ^_^

Hm, well... My brother graduated. And I small conference is being held at our house this Saturday. ;)) And-- we go to Idaho in July. :D How about you?? :D

*waves to StudyMate* Greetings! :D I've never really met you, though I've been around for about 5 years...

*gasps* Oh man, I can't believe I missed it. *cries*
Ah well, I'm only two days late. Happy 5th anniversary, QS. :p Brilliantly forgotten again, as usual. Next time send yourself a reminder on email or something so you can remember and--proclaim it somewhere. :(

Jojo! :D Nice to see you around again. ;) Neat about the autographs, even though they're not my favorite actor/actress people. ;))

At least it's a diet. I'm allergic to dairy and I'm the worst person in the world that could be allergic to it.

Well, that's the situation I may be in. It's a "diet" to figure out if I am allergic to it and if that's what's creating my stomach troubles. I was quite allergic as a little kid and so at least I know the drill - but I've fallen in love with many things that contain dairy since! We'll see how it goes. I splurged today on gravy when we went to our favorite fried chicken place....

Glenny! :) Good to see you! In answer to your question, no, I didn't pay; I just sent a request and got a reply! :)

Heya QS! :D Thanks; I'm going to send out for a few more actress and actors' ... maybe you'll like those better. ;)

*returns the wave to Lysander* Good to see you. How's life?

*waves to PA* hope you have fun at VBS tonight :) .

Thanks, we had a great time! :D It was funny too, I actually was bordering on hyper for once, but everyone else was tired. ;)) Oh, well. Hopefully we'll all have energy tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, it's the last day. :((

At least I know I'll get to babysit on monday, tuesday, and friday of next week... so I have that to look forward too. But yeah, I'll really miss my crew. These kids are just so adorable! *thinks of pm'ing you a link to see my VBS pics, once I've put the ones up that I'll take tomorrow*

Oh, the stories I could tell...

Anyway, wow! Sounds like all of you are quite busy lately! :-o

Nice to see you drop in, Lys! :)

Libby- I'm so glad your tests went well! Feel free to let me know anytime you have something you need prayer for!

Jojo- Autographs? Neat! And I had heard of Michael Buble (and heard the song "Just haven't met you yet"... it's quite catchy!), but I don't own any of his cd's. Glad you're enjoying yourself! :)

Milk allergies? Yuck! My dad was lactose intolerant for a month once. I have no idea what made it happen, but he couldn't have any dairy. Then after a month or two, it went away. Must have been environment-induced.

AuntyJo: SquareOnions, I get it now! Pretty funny. And those square watermellons - uh, looked pretty strange! What did they use, forms? In that case, you should be able to do that with onions too, right?

Lys: Terrible to loose your cell phone! If I leave mine at home when I go anywhere I feel lost!

What are you people's favorite soundtracks? I happen to love the soundtrack to Stardust (no comment on the movie itself). I have never been one to listen to soundtracks till recently, actually.

PA, that's a catchy new working of "This is the Day the Lord has made". :D

Well, lys, it's about time, great to see you here again! :) So, you thought you'd be leaving work around 8, then had the nice surprise to be finished at 7, but didn't get home until 10 because of the surprise rental. Ach!

Sounds like a fun time with your sister. Wow, she's 6 already?!

Ugh about losing your cell phone. Here's hoping it somehow turns up!

Liberty, so good to hear your tests went well. :D

Sounds busy, namesake (Narnian at Heart). And a BIG hello to you!

Michael Buble? Nope, not a fan. But a few of friends are; and some are passionately not. It's funny when we get together and his name comes up: at that point we become rivals. ;)) (In an affectionate sense.)

Orlando Bloom? He's okay. I quite enjoyed him as Legolas, and somewhat as Will Turner in Pirates. Keira Knightley is probably near the bottom of my list for actresses I enjoy, though. :P No offense intended. Our daughter received Billy Boyd's photo and autograph a number of years ago (when The LotR movies were first out). She has always had a fondness for Pippin (both book and movies).

I just found out last year and my whole life I've loved milk. And cheese. Actually when I was younger I declared that I wouldn't marry unless my husband's last name was cheese

:)) I gave a hearty laugh at that last line when I read it. Too funny! Sorry about your dairy allergy, though. :(

Queen Susan, a huge Congratulations on your 5th NarniaWeb anniversary! That's quite a milestone! :D/ (And sorry I'm a couple of days late.) Since you enjoyed that fruit bouquet so much, I now present you with one as well, only this type has chocolate-covered strawberries included. :D Enjoy!

Sadly, our time ran out on that Sunday to see Oceans, because my parents had another engagement they had to get to. I guess we'll be catching it on DVD, but it would have been great to see on the Big Screen.

*speaking of PrinceCor's siblings mom and dad, I do miss them in the Square* Besides, it was loverly having a touch of Royalty here, with all their shenanigans and such. ;)) to the Royal Family, including Vern!

Hmm, let us know the outcome to your non-dairy trial, lys.

I splurged today on gravy when we went to our favorite fried chicken place....

Tut-tut now. Watch your cholesterol levels ..... oh wait, you're still reasonably young. ;)

Hope your headache is better today, N a H!

Yep, Sonny, those watermelons are quite strange-looking. ;)) I imagine they could do this with onions, too, but I have yet to find pictures on the internet of such. If anybody does, be sure to let us know! That would really be something to find actual Square Onions. B-)

Sonny, it was The Lord of the Rings soundtracks that first got me hooked on this genre of music, and now that's almost all I listen to. I haven't heard Stardust, but if you like it that much, I will try and find some clips. Other favourites (although The LotR are my ultimate) are Anne of Green Gables, Hidalgo, The Passion of the Christ, The Village, Amazing Grace, and Pirates is kinda cool, too.

*awaits for PrinceCor to arrive since the subject of soundtracks has come up* ;)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

AC I'm Aslan's Country, you can call me AC, if you wish. Or anything else you can think of

Thanks for the welcome :) , and I shall be sure not to take that statement too liberally –AC it is. ;)) p.s. Do you really live in Japan? B-)

Benjamin: I don't think I ever heard that term before "bees' knees" What does it mean?

Oh, well it’s also known as the cat’s pyjamas? ;)) Something that’s thought of as excellent, generally. *researches* Apparently it was a hit phrase in 1920s America –flapper language. I say it mostly because it rhymes. ;)

PrinceCor Hopefully there's no reason to introduce myself again. Speaking of introductions, did you meet Vern before you left on the old forum? I can't remember... Anyway, this is Vern. My dragon.

Haha yes there’s no need for another introduction, and thanks for the hello! It’s lovely to be back. And yes, I do believe Vern was birthed around the time I was in the square! Speaking of dragons, there was a giant colourful one on display in my exam building today –but if I recall Vern is a smaller dragon, or perhaps a young one. ;)

MissRosario Welcome *back* to the Square! (Oh, and the best of luck on your exams!)

Thank you! :) I had my first one today; and now that I’ve conquered it I am ready to take on the rest of the world (that is, my small & metaphorical world of exam-vanquishing)

I hope you’re having a lovely time at Music Camp (which is a novel idea btw, it seems you have camps for everything in the States –assuming you’re indeed American!).

AitB I notice your avatar is from there now, too. Is it your favourite Disney princess movie?
Ahaha, thanks, and yes, Winnie the Pooh is the cat's meow. I'm assuming you've read the books by A.A. Milne? SO witty!

Hehe, the idea of having a favourite Disney princess movie makes me giggle (but is perfectly justified –I did attend a Princess on Ice concert once ;) ). But if I had to pick one that would probably be it. I like the concepts behind Belle and Beast. :)

(Also, I appreciate your reference to the cat’s meow; Benjamin will surely now catch on and a 1920s flapper revival might commence)

As for that infamous bear which made Sterling Holloway's voice a hallmark; I have read the books –only I was quite young; I’ve been meaning to go back and read them –maybe once exams are over. I don’t feel like reaching for a complex book to soon after those. :P I’m now looking forward to finding

AslansCountry/Kathy: …there's just so much that you don't get as a child. (the random capitalization cracks me up)

;))

NG: Hi StudyMate! Welcome back to the Square! I am Narnia Girl, but please call me NG or Lucy. How are you?

Thank you! (I knew I always liked this place, everyone is so accommodating). I am well; though your discussion of retainers is making me feel guilty for not wearing mine. It’s nice to meet you!

Glenstorm: I know! Really, its length is its only fault. I can never convince lysander of that though

If you’re talking about the 05 P&P; I can never convince lysander either –though I may have made some progress. ;)) I seem to be in the small minority of Nwebbers who like this movie quite a lot.

The Lovely Jo; Don't we miss Aravanna and lysander, though?! lys is around the forum, but Aravanna hardly ever is anymore. All the best in your exams, btw!

Thanks Jo! I see Ara every now and then on facebook (and kotwcs, and mar_girl as well as a few others, but hinting at them to come back to the forums is not yet producing results ;)) ). And thanks for the exam well-wishes; I’ll need them for next week! (Um, along with copious amounts of tea and chocolate). :-s

Glenstorm: it can be expensive, but when your health is at stake, it's worth it!

Agreed! I think if you learn more about what really is going in to your supermarket fruits and veggies you would be shocked; and local produce (or home grown, if you’re that way inclined when it comes to gardening) can be a life saver.

*waves to Ceppault and Sonny* Nice to see some familiar faces :D

Jo: *agrees with Ben that chat-speak/writing is unbelievably annoying*

omgosh I totes luv it rofl! LOL jks I despise it.

*waves to NarniaNut95 and Princess Anna*

The Infrequent Lysander: Aaaand I'm on a non-dairy diet right now, which stinks.

Oh; that’s rather sad. :( Have you been under a bit of stress lately? That can trigger food sensitivities, or so I’ve heard. I find that I can’t handle certain breads or dairy around exam time, ha. As for dairy (and wheat!), and the way it’s processed nowadays, some doctors are warning people to stay away from it –yes, cut it out of the diet. When it comes to things like dairy and meat there’s a lot of superstition that surrounds them…but it’s always enlightening to keep up with independent research. For example; The Truth about American Milk (which we had to study a while back and you might be interested in): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7ZpcPQP3yg

Children and milk allergies are common –there’s really not much evidence to support why its beneficial for humans to drink cows’ milk –in fact, there’s quite a bit to the contrary; ;)) so allergies are not a surprise.

*waves back to Queen Susan* Nice to officially meet you. :D

Wow, that was fairly long. I’m sorry; just wanted to respond to everyone. :)

*At the mention of his favorite style of music, a familiar figure enters the Square*

Soundtracks? Did someone mention soundtracks? :D ;)

Well, my Top 5 list has changed.... again. So, here is the revised list (to answer Sonny's question):

1.Legends of the Fall - James Horner, 1994
2. Alien and Legend- Both Jerry Goldsmith, 1979/1985 (I've ordered Legend, just waiting for it to ship)
3. The Dark Knight- Hans Zimmer/James Newton-Howard, 2008
4. The Mission- Ennio Morricone, 1986
5. Predator 2- Alan Silvestri, 1990

Occasionally bumping into fifth place is Jurassic Park by John Williams. :)

-----------------------------

I'm not really sure which soundtrack got me hooked on this type of music, but I've always enjoyed film scores, even when I was little. The Main Title to How the West Was Won and the Godzilla theme (from the Japanese films) were always a favorite of mine when I was younger.

BTW, the scores I listed as my favorite are ones that I actually own the albums to. Also, some of the scores listed I have not and will not watch the film they go to. Still, the music is amazing. :-bd

---------------------------

I'll be back later today to make a catch-up post! I just wanted to stop by and put my two cents (or a buck and a quarter...) worth in on the soundtrack discussion. :) :p

Talk with ya'll later!!

awwww :( . That's what I did last fall. A cleanse where I was eating basically fruits and vegetables and I was adding foods back one by one and I reacted when I started consuming dairy again. I'm slightly allergic to gluten too. I was allergic to milk when I was younger then I grew out of it and now it's back again. I'm hoping it will go away. Btw, the one of our, erm, health consultants? (we don't go to a doctor) told us that stomach problems can be a sympton of gluten allergies. So maybe that's what you're allergic too.

Glenny! :) Good to see you! In answer to your question, no, I didn't pay; I just sent a request and got a reply! :)

ooh awesome! I've gotten two replies out of the several requests I've sent- one from Kelsey Lewis and one from Elle Fanning.

Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

The Passion of Christ
The End of the Spear
Pride and Prejudice '05
Sense and Sensibility '08

The Lion King
Beauty and the Beast
Amazing Grace
National Treasure
The Forbidden Kingdom
Ever After
The Nativity Story
The Prince of Egypt
Master and Commander

August Rush
Pirates of the Carribean: any movie

that's all I can think of right now but I know I have more soundtracks I like

:)) I gave a hearty laugh at that last line when I read it. Too funny! Sorry about your dairy allergy, though. :(

Haha yes I've always loved so it's kinda hard but I'm getting used to it. And I'd rather suffer without milk then get an itchy red rash all over my face, neck, and arms/hands (which is what I get if I have too much dairy).

Hehe, the idea of having a favourite Disney princess movie makes me giggle (but is perfectly justified –I did attend a Princess on Ice concert once ;) ). But if I had to pick one that would probably be it. I like the concepts behind Belle and Beast. :)

why does it make you giggle? :p My fave is Beauty and the Beast. I've loved it for forever it seems. I still cry when I watch it ;)) .

If you’re talking about the 05 P&P; I can never convince lysander either –though I may have made some progress. ;)) I seem to be in the small minority of Nwebbers who like this movie quite a lot.

yes that's what we're talking about ;)) . Yes I adore that movie, but sadly, most people don't, on NW or otherwise :( .

Agreed! I think if you learn more about what really is going in to your supermarket fruits and veggies you would be shocked; and local produce (or home grown, if you’re that way inclined when it comes to gardening) can be a life saver.

yes it's true! Back in January or around there we watched the documentary Food,INC and whereas then we ate out at least once a week, since watching it we've only eaten out twice :p .

My allergies to milk have nothing to do with manufacturing I'm afraid :( . We got raw cow milk from a local farm, where we work during the summer. We get our veggies there too :) .

I've been butchering chickens and picking strawberries nonstop since Monday morning. Well, okay, I got some reading, some pool-time, some s'more-making, and some facebook in there too. But after getting home from a long and tiring weekend at Homeschool Convention, teaching children Adventures In Character lessons, heading up a 16-kid team for drama and large-assembly, getting up at 5:30 AM, and staying up 'til 1 AM, I thought I'd get a little bit of time to recover. Nothin' doin'! So we hit the ground running when we got home and I'm still trying to stay awake! ;)

Wow sounds like you have been really busy! Strawberries sound really good right now! Not to mention s'mores!

I'm reading six various books right now, and all of them are extremely good. The Assassins by Oliver North, The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy, Twilight of Courage by Bodie Thoene, Tales Before Narnia by Douglass Anderson, Shattered Summer by Madeleine Polland, and The Hobbit by...well, you all know. :D My summer reading program is off to a good start, if I can only manage to finish all these in record time and get on to the remainder of my list.

Your one of those "read a lot of books at the same time" people ;)) Tales Before Narnia is that a good book so far?

OOOOOOOOK, pop-question! (didn't know you'd get one of these, didja?) Who here likes/loves/has heard of Michael Buble? Pop-singer, Frank-Sinatra

i have heard of both and I like their music :)
