Howdy all!
Benjamin, do you have a favorite Ranger's Apprentice character?
![]()
Hmm.... I don't... maybe Will...
Oh I ordered the next book it should be in tomorrow....
hehe, I will
![]()
lol
yes I'm hoping to get my book done in time! I still have to convince my parents on a few other things, but hopefully I will be going
.
Well if you work hard enough I'm sure that you will be able to go
😐 . I don't really talk like that! It's just...easier to type
. At least I don't use chat speak! Now that is annoying! And it is pervading our culture too!
![]()
Oh chat talk is so annoying! "how r u doing 2day" "goog thx, how about u" "same" "well i g2g ttyl" "ttyl b" (<--that is for bye ) And on and on! Grrrr! There are some I don't really mind which are "lol" and.... and...... well that's all I can think of at the moment that I don't mind.
Sounds like a fun wedding reception, Ben! Wow, you've only been here one year? It seems like longer ... in a very good way.![]()
It was!
Yeah just a little over a year! It seems like ages to me! In a good way of course
Ben, you do outside work for a job? As in landscaping or something similar? Yep, very dependent on the weather. Are you enjoying it? And good for you for making bread! Nothing quite like a hot, steaming loaf of homemade bread coming out of the oven ... Mmmmm ...
I am a painter, I do interior also but people seem to want their exteriors done more. I guess they are will to do their own. But still I do do some interiors in fact the next job I'm doing is an interior... Yes I am enjoying it, those not all the time! Like when you are baking hot! And sweat is dripping down your face!
Oh Hot homemade bread! That is so good! Especially with butter and honey!
So, Ben, what colour did your hair turn when you (accidentally) spray-painted it?
![]()
White haha!
Actually, in Canada it's spelled 'favourite'.

Good mortereve from a long-absent Frequenter of the Square!
I don't have time to catch up, which is why I haven't posted anything here in a while, but Lady_Liln told me on chat that I was allowed to pop in a say hi!
I miss everyone, especially AuntyJo, Aiden, and Cepp.... (I'll ad more names as I think of them..)
Anyway, I'll be back more often I hope!

Don't feel bad, Sonny. I've been grossly negligent about visiting Town Square in a regular way.
Life rolls on as normal for me. No radical changes here.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
Sonny!!! Grand to see you here.
Yes, it has been awhile. How have you been keeping? Do come by more, if you can, yes, do!
*really encourages GtG to read the original Cheaper by the Dozen*
*agrees with Ben that chat-speak/writing is unbelievably annoying* It's grand to have a forum like NWeb where proper English is required.
Ah, cool about your painting job. And funny about your temporarily white hair.
Boy, the Square's been quiet lately.
*pokes cep to get on over here*
EDIT #1: He beat me to it. Wonderful to see you here too, ceppault! I was going to ask you how that Orc organization was faring? Can't quite recall the name, though. I have it in my files somewhere, but am not seeming to track it down.
EDIT #2: Aha, here it is: The "Federation of Orc Occupational Labor, Safety and Health" ... FOOLSH. And now, with the Hobbit movies looming ever closer (once the silly financial legalities all get straightened out), this organization may be pulled more to the forefront, methinks.

FOOLSH has been active in the process of promoting a more positive role for the Orc Kind in the new Hobbit movie. Supporters have even campaigned for Bilbo Baggins to be cast with an orc. Talent agencies have taken on Orcs, but have had little success. Vicious rumors have been circulated that agents refusing to represent orcs have disappeared ... but that is just rumor.
Hey Jo. >:D<

Gahhhh!!!! Ridiculous, quite ridiculous.
Yes, I too am an unfan of lazy typing. Capitalization and punctuation are key, as well as full written out words. Except lol and rofl.
Oh, can someone please explain SquareOnions? Thanks!
"SquareOnions": well, it was on the old forum, probably a couple of years ago, when I was thinking of a name for the denizens of the good ol' Square, and the title given to the inhabitants of the big city to the east of me came to mind: Torontonians. So, we tried "Squareonians" and that just didn't seem to look quite right, so we changed the second "a" to an "o" and ... voila! For months now I've tried to find a photo of actual square onions, but can't. The only thing that pops up is square watermelons.

Mortereve all!
Whoa, NN, so cool that you're friend had the honour of playing the famous Detective, himself!
Yeah, and he did a great job, too! Another of my friends (his sister, in fact) was the assistant director.
haha
! So I'm hoping to start the second season of Robin Hood tonight...finally! I'll let you know if I do
.
Oh, that's great! A few episodes are on YouTube, but I'll wait till they're all uploaded before I start watching. Let me know what you think.
Sonny!!! Great to see you! Do frequent the Square more often, eh?
Great to see Cep drop by, too.
Have a wonderful mortereve, all!

*bounces in, singing one of the VBS songs*
(for those curious, I'm talking about this one.)
Hiya!
Can't really stay, as I have lots to do before going to VBS tonight. But I wanted to say hello.
Hope you all are having a wonderful day! I'll try and pop in once I get home later, k?
*bounces back out, still singing*
Speaking of frequenting the square more often ... I meant to be in here pretty consistently over the summer, but I don't think I've posted in two weeks or so. Well, here I am.
I had a crazy day at work yesterday - got there two minutes late (this never happens) with a head- and stomach-ache. Thought I would be working 'til 8, but then found out that we closed at 7. We sent all the people away, started cleaning, and then more people started showing up outside! Turned out that we had a rental scheduled, and not even the manager knew about it. We didn't get out of there until about 10.
As you may imagine, I'm soooo glad that I don't have to work today.
This morning I ran errands, and my six-year-old sister came along, which made it more fun. We went by the library for some books and movies, then I checked a few stories for Many Stationary (no luck), made a deposit, grabbed some drinks from QT, and some ice cream as a birthday present for my brother. 'Twas a good time.
In other news, I seem to have lost my cell phone. Aaaand I'm on a non-dairy diet right now, which stinks.

Did anyone bring the Dijon? Has anyone forgotten to remember me? Am I even in the right place?!? Garsh, I feel confused.
I've been butchering chickens and picking strawberries nonstop since Monday morning. Well, okay, I got some reading, some pool-time, some s'more-making, and some facebook in there too. But after getting home from a long and tiring weekend at Homeschool Convention, teaching children Adventures In Character lessons, heading up a 16-kid team for drama and large-assembly, getting up at 5:30 AM, and staying up 'til 1 AM, I thought I'd get a little bit of time to recover. Nothin' doin'! So we hit the ground running when we got home and I'm still trying to stay awake!
How is everyone here? I've been meaning for a loooooooooong time to come back and catch-up, but then our strawberries started producing heavily, we went to a few play-practices, we had to pack and bake for our trip....and I never got around to it. And now that I'm back, I'm fearful that a good and thorough catch-up is out of the question. Please forgive me, anyone, if I failed to respond to you. I'm truly sorry.
I know a few of the things I left-off with....Aiden, how'd your play go?? Was it a whopping success?? I was going to be soooooooo excited 'cause we almost had the opportunity to be in a play this summer, but after going to a few of the practices, we decided that the other people we'd be working with were not the kind of folks we wanted to be around, and the directer was very strange and not authoritative enough. I dunno, anyway, we decided against it. The search for a good playhouse still goes on!!
<--- that's for all the rest of you. How's JUNE for everyone?? I'm having a fine time bungling through my summer days in the summer wind, and I intend to be here a bit more too. I hope. *snicker* We know how that goes!
I'm reading six various books right now, and all of them are extremely good. The Assassins by Oliver North, The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy, Twilight of Courage by Bodie Thoene, Tales Before Narnia by Douglass Anderson, Shattered Summer by Madeleine Polland, and The Hobbit by...well, you all know. My summer reading program is off to a good start, if I can only manage to finish all these in record time and get on to the remainder of my list.
OOOOOOOOK, pop-question! (didn't know you'd get one of these, didja?) Who here likes/loves/has heard of Michael Buble? Pop-singer, Frank-Sinatra-esque, hit song is "Haven't met you yet" and "Crazy Love"? Anyway, I had to ask, or this next piece of news would not make any difference to anyone: I just bought his "Crazy Love" album from iTunes and I crazy-love it!!
AAAAAAAND, who knows of "Westlife"? Pop-group from Dublin Ireland? They're older guys (upper-thirties) but they've been together a long time. Anyway, that has no relevance whatsoever, except that I love their music (since my recent discovery of them, that is) and just purchased two of their albums. I. Am. In. Love. I simply love their music. One of their albums, "Allow us to be Frank", is all Frank Sinatra music, which makes me doubly-happy. I'm now basking in the cheerful glow of new and wonderful music purchases!!
GUESS WHAT?!?! I got Orlando Bloom's AND Keira Knightley's autographs in the mail over the last week!! WOOHOO! *sheepishly stops giggling and sits down*
That's the most exciting stuff that's happened to me lately. Happy summers to you all! Miss ya!

*waves to PA* hope you have fun at VBS tonight .
Lys: sounds like you had fun last night . Aww, six year olds are so much fun
. Ooh you're on a no-dairy diet? At least it's a diet. I'm allergic to dairy and I'm the worst person in the world that could be allergic to it. I just found out last year and my whole life I've loved milk. And cheese. Actually when I was younger I declared that I wouldn't marry unless my husband's last name was cheese
. But anyway, I used to drink a good 3 glasses a day of milk and now I can drink none
. Maybe a bit of cheese occasionally or some food that has dairy in it but if I eat it my skin reacts pretty badly. It's very sad
.
Hello Narnian at Heart! Nice to see you around . Ooh I used to listen to Michael Buble a few years ago. I haven't heard his new CD though. Cool about getting the autographs! If you don't mind me asking, did you pay or did you just send them a letter?
