*pops in to say hello, waving to PC, Fanny, and Glenstorm as he does so* (sorry, confining my waves to this page only)

I've been on NWeb way too long this morning, after not having been around for months, and I really need to get off and do other things ... but I had to stop by and say hello to my beloved SquareOnions before I do so. How is everyone doing? I want to hear all the stories.

After a quick drive-by post in Past Movies, I'm going to head off to finish Pride and Prejudice, and then maybe I'll start organizing my clothes and books. *dies a little at the thought*

Mortereve all!

well technicalities can be fun but I can't stand when people shove them on someone else. Like these are the truth! I don't care if there is no proof! :p

ugh yes I have. They're on like every other car 8-| .

whenever she comes on... :p

Yeah, true. Still, if both people respect the other's opinion, it can be fun to debate.

Yep, we see them a lot, too. It's sad. Speaking of bumper stickers, we once saw a bumper sticker that said "Not fooled by the media", but on the other side of the same bumper was a Darwin fish. obviously that person was fooled by the media! ;))

lol, I think she's come on an a couple times. You'll have to mention it to her.

Mortereve all! Guess what? I'm out of school!! and.... finished with highschool..... FOR GOOD!!! :D :D :D/ <------ Can you tell I'm happy? :p

Hey, that's great. Congrats! Any plans for the future?

@ NN. *laugh* It's O.K. We were talking about Legends of the Fall. :)

Right, right, of course. ;)) You're right, that is in contrast to Titanic.

I have seen several episodes from it- up to episode seven or eight, I think. I would probably buy it eventually- I'd like to see the rest of the series and all- but only if I could get it for a reasonable price ($20.00-$30.00, in that range).

Ah, ok. I've not seen any of Series 2, but, like I've said, I'm watching it on YouTube, so I have to wait for it to be uploaded. ;))

Hmm, yes. ;)) And I hope you can get it soon! We're crawling through the season at a snail's pace, but that's alright. ;))

Haha, well, we're watching through all the seasons we have again, and since we put on an episode anytime we're around the tv (even if we're up and about and not actually sitting down to watch) we may get through the four seasons we have while you're watching season 5! ;))

How are things for you? I'm glad to hear that your play went well, that must have been very encouraging. :)

Pretty well, thanks! Quite busy, but that'll change once school finishes. Yeah, we were very pleased with how the play went. :)

*waves to lys* Good to see you drop by! :D

Have a great mortereve all!

Good mortereve all!! :D

I believe it's time for one of my ketchup posts...

Aw, thank you so much! Well, the recital is on May 23rd. (Or somewhere around there.) I'm definitely not going to be performing. My teacher said I can still come to hear the others play, though, which I'm excited about. Evidently, I can also take summer lessons and finish up the concerto. She'll have another recital in late-summer, and I can perform there. :)

Okay, I see. That's good that you will still get to perform it and be able to take lessons this summer! :) How long have you been taking violin lessons?

Oh wow! I want that CD too! I almost bought it for my friend b/c it's her birthday this month but they didn't have it where I normally buy CDs so I got her this instead http://www.christianbook.com/aaron-shus ... em_code=WW

I wish that "Songs from the Heart" had the song "The Call" on it, but it doesn't. :( They sang it at the concert and I really like it. /random ;))
I have heard of Aaron Shust before, but I haven't heard any of his music.

Thanks for the song recommendations! :) I'm listening to "Heartland" right now. It's pretty.

*wishes she could watch BBC Robin Hood, but doesn't know where to see the previous episodes without having to buy them.* :( Any legal way? ;) I thought someone mentioned that once... :p

The first season was on YouTube, but the person who uploaded it has taken most of it down to make room for season two. :( ;)) I don't really know of another way to watch it. ;)) Unless you can rent them from a local video store. That's what I did at first. :)

Hey! :D Yep, I am braced now. ;)) My teeth are not nearly as sore... They feel pretty much normal really beside not being able to bite off things much with my front teeth... The F.E.Student is here... He seems pretty nice. :) I think he's going to go to college to be a sports trainer. ;))

Lol, that's good to hear. ;)) ;) I'm glad to hear that they don't hurt as much now! :)
;)) A sports trainer? That's neat! Has it been strange adjusting to someone else in the house? *reads the update on at the bottom of page 161* Wow! ;)) That's interesting...and sounds unexpected. ;)) Well, I hope that it was good for the time that he was there. ;))

Oh well, you're second from the top which is still good. :) :p

*sigh* I'll settle for that, I guess. :P ;))

*Thank you, miss Djaq for telling him to stop! It gets quite.... annoying when he does that. 8-| *

Aye, that it is. It makes Life more interesting having a stockpile of quotes from movies to use. ;))

There's no guarantee that he will listen to me, but at least I tried. ;))

Yes, indeed! Movie quotes are great! My family has a lot that we just quote randomly and we can quote entire scenes...it's great fun! ;)) We quote the '95 Pride and Prejudice quite a bit. ;))

*Oh, nothing much. Just the usual, gave Cor a hard time when he fell into the stream after trying to catch a fish, stuff like that. :) *

Yeah and telling KingLune about it at dinner.... [-(

*Well, he got a good laugh out of it. ;) *

Ah, so nothing out of the ordinary. :P I'm sure that he did get a good laugh out of it! It sounds amusing...sorry, Cor! ;)) ;)

Welcome! Of course it was mostly out of necessity, but we'll just ignore that technicality... ;) :p

Hey! :P Yes, we will ignore that technicality. ;) ;))

Yes, I learned the hard way never to eat too many sweets at a coffee shop several years ago. #:-s Welcome!! :D

Oh dear! That doesn't sound good! :(

I'm sure it will come in handy in the kitchen or as a piece of decoration outside. :) Hmm, "rufflyness".... a good word, a very good word. :) ;))

*will just pretend that she didn't see the "or as a piece of decoration outside" part of that*
Well, thank you for your approval of my word...I think. ;))

Ehehe, @ the "Ella Enchanted". Funny enough, everytime I see the name "Ella" I suddenly snap to attention.
Ah, I enjoyed it to the fullest! But, now, it's all over as the show was on Monday. Can't wait 'till next year.
Oooh! *claps hands daintily* It looks so cute! The cherries are absolutely adorable. ;)

;)) Is that so?
It sounds like it was fun!
Mmhmm, I thought the fabric that they used was really cute! (and the pattern itself ;)) )
What has been going on with you lately? :)

*wishes Djaq and PrinceCor very belated Very Happy Birthdays!* It looks like y'all had a fantastic party.

Thank you, Mel! :D It was a great day!

Have you ever mailed yourself to the Square in a box and then popped up when some unsuspecting person opens it?

Ah, I confess that I had not thought of that. ;) ;)) It sounds like an...interesting journey. ;)

Remember when we used to write poetry here in the Square? Well, you'll be happy to know that I put that practice to good use and wrote my mother a poem for Mother's Day. It was an... interesting... poem. B-)

That's great! You may not have been able to do it, were it not for the practice you had doing poetry in here. ;) ;)) Great poem, by the way! Very sweet!

Now, before I forget, I missed being able to come on the Square for a very important occasion ... Djaq's birthday! That's so cool about your ear-piercing. :)

Thank you so much! :D My ears are still doing good now, so I'm glad about that. ;)) :) How is your nose? ...That sounds odd. ;)) Did YOU have a good birthday?? :D I hope that it was!
Aww, thank you for the birthday song! ;)) It's very cute!
Whoa!! That's an impressive cake! :-o Yes, it's a banjo, but I still like banjos, so we're all good. ;) :)

Whoops, you're right! "Find the old one! I like her."
Alrighty.

Um...I'm not sure how the next part starts. ;)) It's something like "Dr. Chase, thank you for agreeing to meet with me.", right? ;))

"Yes. No. I don't know!" (That's in many things...)

"Is it certain?" (the full line is "Is it certain, Doctor?", but I wasn't sure if "Doctor" would fit) Gods and Generals.

Here! Here! (lol, I suppose so!)

Aye! I quite agree!

Oh, wow, it does work! Very cool. You can tell I've never used the "Quote" button. So, now you can see that was a ton of color codes, huh?

I use it very rarely. Only if I can't figure out the color or they used a ton of color codes and I don't want to redo them. ;)) Yes, that was a lot! ;))

Oh, well, I certainly felt prepared... not really apprehensive in any way. But I do find it's best to keep my mind off of it...

Ah, I see. :)

BTW, your sig made me laugh! ;)) (after I looked up what it meant, of course ;) )

*waves to PA*

Hi! :D Good to see you again too! Hm for mother's day we went to church, and had a breakfast there... then my dad and I went to the store and got my mom roses, and I made her this card.

That sounds great! :D Aww, that card is soo cute! Awesome job! :D

Aww I just missed your birthday. I hope you had a wonderful one! :D

I did have a great birthday! :D flam and I got our ears pierced and other than that, it was a pretty low-key day. It was fun though! :D

*waves and sends a tackle-hug to Sweeet* Are you going to stick around? Yay! :D I've heard samples of TLMTD, but I haven't heard the whole thing. Do you like it better than Over and Underneath? :)

Greetings, Lady A! :D

Oh, phew! #:-s I was afraid that I was going to have to pay for all that expensive shipping! And with it so late...

But seriously, how did your birthday go overall? Feel any older?

Ah, no need to worry! ;)
Seriously, my birthday was great! I had so many wonderful people (which includes you!) wish me a happy birthday both on here and in off-line life and that made it really special! :)

*waves back to AC* I hope you don't mind if I call you that. :) ;))

Djaq, yup, now I have a full set of braces on. :) It hasn't been too bad so far; getting them on wasn't as painful as I'd expected, thankfully. :p

That's good! :D ( ) I'm glad to hear that it hasn't been as painful as you expected.

Yeah, I know what you mean! The thing that annoyed me when I got my ears pierced was that I had to sleep with the earrings in, since you have to wear them for two or three months or whatever, and they would always poke into the side of my ear while I was sleeping. ;))

Yes, that part is rather annoying. I try to sleep on my back now. ;)) Or roll over from time to time so that one ear doesn't hurt worse than the other one. ;))

Oh, and yes, I am a big Robin Hood fan now! :D I watched episodes 1, 2, 3, and 7. For some reason they played episode 7 after episode 3 on TV...I don't why they didn't just go to 4. *shrugs* Lol, anyway, I really like it now!

Yay! :D Hmm, that is weird. ;)) Where are you watching it? Is it on BBC (or BBCA)?
Would you like to join Team Hoodie? :D It's a fanclub for Robin Hood that flam and I started. All you do is put "Team Hoodie" in your sig. :)

*waves to BuBbLyLu* Thank you for the...thank you! ;))

*skims*

*reads through the Ruby-Winter post and chuckles* Very nice! ;))

Congrats on being DONE with school, Cor!! :D

How did the CPR classes go? It sounds like it was a good opportunity, I would guess CPR knowledge is a good thing to have! :) I hope it all went well! Life for myself looks busy right now- lots of work in the schedule, which I'm sure will go over well. Thankfully the Lord has arranged my schedules so it does not all happen on the same day. That would be....crazy. ;)) Other than that, though, life is going well! :) I'm so very glad summer is almost here, it's been so lovely outside! :) I love the summer! :)

The class went really well! We all passed, so that was good. ;)) :) Yes, it is a good thing to know. :)
Ah, yes, it is a good thing to not have everything happening on the same day! Mmhmm, summer is nice! It gets a tad hot down here, but it's still fun! flam and I have been riding our bikes quite a bit, which has been really nice. :)

Cheerio everyone! (And make sure you put lots of milk with it... ;)) )

Lol! Excellent advice! ;) ;))

*waves to lysander* It's good to see you here again! :)

I think I'm finally done! #:-s I started this post yesterday, but I kept getting interrupted, so I didn't finish it until now. ;))

Anyway, mortereve all!!

I was fortunate enough to watch (and download!) all of Season 1 while it was still up on YouTube and anticipating Season 2. However, Season 1 is online elsewhere. If you go to Google Video search you can type "Robin Hood S01E01" or "Robin Hood 1x01" and find episodes. Of course, change that last number for a different episode, or the first number for a different season. :)

Um...I'm not sure how the next part starts. ;)) It's something like "Dr. Chase, thank you for agreeing to meet with me.", right? ;))

I'm not sure how it starts either, but that sounds right. "Oh, I was going to call you, actually." I really have no clue if that's right.

"No! *chuckes* Absolutely not!" Riley, at the beginning of NT1. (lol, I also often leave off a word to make it sound better ;)) )

I use it very rarely. Only if I can't figure out the color or they used a ton of color codes and I don't want to redo them. ;)) Yes, that was a lot! ;))

Yeah, that makes sense. Otherwise, it's a pain to use.

*waves back to both Djaq and NN* :)

So, my day didn't really turn out as planned. Somehow I got sick this afternoon - my stomach was messed up, and I felt really weak. So I napped for two hours, and though I feel much better now, my system is still messed up. Oh, and I have to work tomorrow. At 8:00 am. I found out right after dinner. I would have tried to find a sub, but I was too busy trying to find one for Sunday - I hate working Sundays, and along with going to church my mom and I will be going to the opera this Sunday, so I had to find a sub. I did find one, too. Just hoping I'll be feeling better at 8:00 tomorrow....

There's so little to catch up on.

Which is actually quite nice for us. ;)) 'Cept, as mentioned, those not here as often in the Square are truly missed.

NN, how lovely you go down to see your grandma every summer. That must be a highlight of her year. :) Now, refresh my memory: do you have siblings? If so, are any on NarniaWeb? I seem to recall, though, that you're an only child ...

Hmm, you like John Williams War of the Worlds? Very few people seem to like that one since it's mostly minimalist "creepy" scoring

Yep, I do. ;)) Guess I'm in a minority. :P I think his score captured that extremely intense and 'creepy' feel of the film so very well.

*I agree miss Jo. I do wonder why Cor passed on trying one of these delectable ants. Their much better cooked than raw.

And, if I remember, these were even roasted. Mmmm.

*Marf tis Good!!! :D *swallows* Thanks very, very muchly miss Jo!!!

My utter pleasure. But, I do need a translation for that first word, "Marf". I'm wracking my brains trying to figure out what word that is really supposed to be (when Vern had his mouth full). ;))

*just realized she responded to some of these same posts earlier* :P (but that was in the middle of the night and I was fast asleep, actually)

Aslans Country, really cool about your bilingualism! :D You play in a band for your school, I'm gathering? What instrument?

As for onions: I like them sautéed, but not raw. Note that I am referring to food-onions here, not SquareOnions. ;)

They usually came from Ara, Bart, or me. ;)) But, at least the Square was never anything like the Cup & Platter! Now that place would really fly!

Or me or Orious! ;)) So, were you quite involved in the Cup & Platter, NN? That was just before my time here.

Love your poems, Mel! ;))

Oh, another Labyrinth, and the one that has my favourite ever Mel-avatar. :D

Oooh, packages in the mail are such fun to receive, GtG. Enjoy! :D Sorry to hear you didn't make it in the musical this time. But we're rooting for you for "Scrooge" in the fall! One of the best stories ever told, imho.

Well, this weekend is a long one in Canada: Victoria Day wknd, after Queen Victoria ... her birthday, I believe ... probably Fanny would know for sure. It's always the weekend before US's Memorial Day wknd. Fireworks are popular, and it's unofficially the beginning of the summer season, as many folk head up north to open up their cottages.

PrinceCor! Congratulations on your high school graduation! What a feeling, eh? :D This is cause for a celebration! *ahem* Master PrinceCor, may we honour you with a special congratulatory treat? (Hands off for now, Vern-dear.) But now, the rest of us need to celebrate with you (okay, Vern, go at it, but do save a few for the rest of us). ;)

Djaq and flam, I think it's great you're both learning CPR! Let us know how it goes. :)

Cheerio everyone! (And make sure you put lots of milk with it...

:)) Mmm, I love Cheerios! I think I just might nab a bowl after this post. :D

*is excited with Fanny for her trip to the States* Special memories will be made. I have one upcoming, too, about one month after yours: a few mods are meeting up in Ohio. It was so special, fun, and memorable last year, and I anticipate the same for this Moot.

Lys, Lys, LYS!!! Oh Epic-One, how dost thou doest? :p So wonderful to see you back in the Square again. This is where you really belong, you know. ;)) Awww, I'm sorry you're sick. Do you think the stress of those last few weeks of school caught up with you? Glad you found a sub for Sunday! Enjoy the opera. :D Which one, may I ask? I hope work goes well today, even though you may not be feeling quite 100%. Man, it's good to have you back here once more. :D

How is your nose? ...That sounds odd. ;))

Very well, thanks. :p *begins singing again "Kleenex knows noses like no one knows noses; Kleenex knows noses ... best". ;))

*scurries into the Square singing "Build an Ark" by the GVB* Mortereve all! Well, today is my last-ish day of school. Tomorrow we're going on vacation for a week. I'll probably have a couple tests to finish up once we get back, though. Guess I'll start ketchuping (is that even a word? :p ) now.

*waves to CS* How are you? :D

Thank you, johobbit! I was really nervous about the piano recital, but I'm so glad it ended well. :)
Lol, I always save time for NW too! ;))

AslansCountry, I know how you feel! ;)) I hate all the tests and quizzes at the end of the school year...it will be such a relief when summer comes!
Thank you! :)

NN95, my orthodontist said that when I get my permanent retainer, I'll have to wear it all the time for six months, and then after that I only have to wear it at night. That will be a relief, at least...

*waves back to Glenstorm* Hey, how are you? :)

PrinceCor, Star Wars is always good! :) Do you have a favorite out of the Star Wars movies?
And...congrats on finishing school! :D How exciting!

FF, wow, that's great that you'll be taking a visit to the States! :D That's something to look forward to.
Well, we're going on vacation tomorrow, so I'm really, really excited about that. :p :) Other than that, I think this will be a pretty quiet summer for us. :) Btw, I really like your avatar!

Djaq, lol, I guess I will look like that smilie when I get my braces off! ;)) :D
Robin Hood was playing on BBCA. :)
Ooh, I would love to join Team Hoodie! :D *makes a mental note to put it in her sig* I've been wondering for a while now what the Team Hoodie thing was doing on everyone's sigs...now I know. :p

*skims* Well, I guess that's it for now. This was a rather rushed ketchup, I'm afraid...I've got to start packing for vacation tomorrow. :) See you all next week, I suppose!

Well, this weekend is a long one in Canada: Victoria Day wknd, after Queen Victoria ... her birthday, I believe ... probably Fanny would know for sure.

You are correct- it was started to celebrate her birthday and it has now been carried on to celebrate the reigning Monarch. :) Interestingly, following the death of Her Majesty Queen Victoria in 1901 and proceeding up to 1957, the actual date was known throughout the British Empire as Empire Day, and the reigning Sovereign's birthday was celebrated on his or her respective birthdays. In 1952 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's official birthday was moved to the Monday before May 25th, as such that was the same day as Empire Day. This was done like this, especially in Canada, from 1953 to 1957. In 1958 Empire Day was changed to Commonwealth Day, and eventually in 1977 it was moved to the second Monday in March. So, now we just celebrate Her Majesty's birthday. I do think Empire Day sounds much nicer than "Commonwealth Day". The first speaks of tradition, olden day glory, the British triumphs in the past, the centuries of glorious history, the magnificent and widespread British Empire, whilst the latter speaks of... well, to me it kind of falls flat. ;))

(The dates and information above thanks in part to wikipedia).
Anyway. That has been your little history lesson. :) May you all have a glorious Victoria Day, and may you even dress up to celebrate it. :) My siblings and I did that in 2008, we put together some Victorian-ish looking outfits and pretended we were in India during the 1800s. My brother was an officer in the British Army, and my sister and I were his sisters.

I'll be back for catch up later. :)

Dear days of old, with the faces in the firelight,
Kind folks of old, you come again no more.

Hey Everyone! I see the Square is moving at a faster pace!

So I started reading Erak's Ransom a book from The Ranger's Apprentice series. It started kind of slow but I think it will pick up the farther I get through the book.....

Has Anyone Seen the New Robin Hood movie that is in theaters? If so is it worth watching?

Well time for some catchup......

Page 159

lol ;)) . It goes well :p . How are you? :)

Excellent thanks :D

Micah should be here at least! He and I pretty much go on the most :p .

Yeah that's what I was able to see while catching up.

I don't mind. It's short for Alissandra. Yeah that's a long name :p . Most of my friends call me Alissandra but friends on the internet, and acquaintances, call me Ali...b/c it's shorter and easier to say. And I prefer it that way, I wish everyone called me Ali b/c no one can say Alissandra right :p .

Oh I see cool! I would probably not be able to pronounce it right either ;))

oh btw, I borrowed Cannons and Heaven and Earth by Phil Wickham from one of my friends and they were both really good! I've had them 1 week and the total plays of his song are 140! I really really like him! I actually wrote a review of Heaven and Earth for my blog http://musical-maiden.blogspot.com/2010 ... -phil.html :) . Just saying b/c I know you like Phil Wickham's music, seeing you had an avatar of him for aaaaages :p .

Oh cool! Yeah I love his music! He is great!

I see. Well, I hope it all works out well. :)
Wow, that's a lot of work! I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Thanks :)

Glad to hear it! I've been well, too. :) Yeah, true. You probably don't have much spare time, eh? :( Yep, I've watched the first season through twice.

Yeah hardly any. Nice! I have watch the first and second through twice myself. Is the second up on youtube yet?

lol, the whole time you've been gone we've been talking about how your being gone is making the Square so slow.

lol I guess I did post in here a lot ;)) :P

Mortereve, all!

*waves to Ben* Wow, I haven't seen you around here for awhile. ;) You been doing well?
Oh, and... *feels rather stupid* How do you do the crossed-out text? ;)) I've always wondered. /random

Yes I have thank you :) And yourself?
Oh no need to feel stupid I just learned myself not very long ago :) you do [*s]Your crossed out text goes here[*/s] Like that just with out the *'s and it should look like this Your crossed out text goes here
See you around

Hello, Benjamin! How do you fare?

I fare very well thanks And you?

Page 160

*waves to Cor*

Welcome back, Ben! :D It's great to have you back! How are you doing? :D

Hey! Thanks! It's great to be back (for the part that I am back ;))). I'm doing very well thanks! And you?

I must say your Avatar is very enchanting! It looks very good :)

*waves to Ella* Hey! How you been doing?

*wishes she could watch BBC Robin Hood, but doesn't know where to see the previous episodes without having to buy them.* :( Any legal way? ;) I thought someone mentioned that once... :p
)

Not sure anyone has answered you yet but if not then... Micah (NarniaNut95) said that he was able to watch the first season on youtube and also that the person who put up the first season said that he was going to put up the second also. You could ask him (Micah) more about it if you like :)

I have only barely skimmed here, so *waves to everyone else* :D 'Though I must make mention that, Benjamin, it's great to see you in the Square again. :)

Thanks Jojo! It's nice to be in the Square again! How have you been?

Page 161

*waves to Benjamin* Heey! Good to see you on the Square! It seems like you've been away for a while. Been busy? How has everything been going? :)

*waves back to Ruby* Heeeeey! Thanks! Yeah I was away for quite a while! Yes I was very busy! I was working down in Florida and hardly had any time on my hands #:-s But right now I'm in Kansas City, I flew up there to meet my family who was on their way from Oregon to Florida, and then make the trip with them.

*GASPS*

I almost lost my post!! That was a heart attack!! I'm horrible when it comes to clicking on random links on my toolbar... :P

Oh I hate when that happens! It freaks me out too!

Well I suppose that is all for now. Talk to you all later :)

You'll have to mention it to her.

yeah, it can be.

bwahaha, and people say Christians contradict themselves :p

I will when I see her :)

It's pretty.

never heard that song I think... :p

No problem, glad you like them :) .

Oooh, packages in the mail are such fun to receive, GtG. Enjoy! :D Sorry to hear you didn't make it in the musical this time. But we're rooting for you for "Scrooge" in the fall! One of the best stories ever told, imho.

thank you. Yeah I love that story. It's great and so is the musical :) .

*waves back to Glenstorm* Hey, how are you? :)

I'm doing good, but I don't know for how long. My sister is saying that she has the stomach bug :-s .

Excellent thanks :D

good :)

Yeah that's what I was able to see while catching up.

lol ;))

Oh I see cool! I would probably not be able to pronounce it right either ;))

well most people don't, so that's ok :p

Oh cool! Yeah I love his music! He is great!

he really is. One of my musical addictions right now :p

Mortereve all!

Hope you feel better soon, lys!

Which is actually quite nice for us. ;)) 'Cept, as mentioned, those not here as often in the Square are truly missed.

That's true. ;))

NN, how lovely you go down to see your grandma every summer. That must be a highlight of her year. :) Now, refresh my memory: do you have siblings? If so, are any on NarniaWeb? I seem to recall, though, that you're an only child ...

Yeah, that is a highlight of the year. Most of my dad's side of the family lives down there, so it's nice to visit them. You're right, I'm an only child. No siblings. :)

Or me or Orious! ;)) So, were you quite involved in the Cup & Platter, NN? That was just before my time here.

That's right, you had some impressively long posts yourself! I don't remember Orious that much...
No, I wasn't too involved. In fact, when I joined, I only caught the trail end of the last C&P, number 69, I think it was.

NN95, my orthodontist said that when I get my permanent retainer, I'll have to wear it all the time for six months, and then after that I only have to wear it at night. That will be a relief, at least...

That's a long time to wear a retainer! And even when you only have to wear it at night, will that be for the rest of your life?

Yeah hardly any. Nice! I have watch the first and second through twice myself. Is the second up on youtube yet?

That's too bad. :( Nope, the second's not on YouTube, yet. At least, not all of it.

yeah, it can be.

bwahaha, and people say Christians contradict themselves :p

I will when I see her :)

Yup.

Haha, yep.

Good.

Soooo... how have you been? When does school get out for you?

Have a great mortereve all!

First off, and in response to all the inquiries, I'm feeling much better. It was some weird passing thing, and by about 9:00 last night I was fine. My family and I watched Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson (sort of like last year's Taken only much, much better), I went to bed early, got up and went to work.

Lys, Lys, LYS!!! Oh Epic-One, how dost thou doest? :p

:D

You know, I always forget I'm the "Epic One" until I come back to the Square. I should come here more; after all, one can't be reminded of one's Epicness too often. ;)

As to how I'm doing, I think between my two posts and my PM, you should know. You did get my PM, didn't you?

Enjoy the opera. :D Which one, may I ask?

The Elixir of Love by Donizetti. It's not one of my very favorites, but how many operas do you know that make fun of Tristan and Iseult? And the production looks pretty cute, too. There's a preview here. So happy to be seeing Rod Nelman again - he's a brilliant comic bass.

The opera I'm really looking forward to this Festival (and which I'm seeing next Sunday) is Don Giovanni. Its preview is here. I think it's hilarious that unlike the Elixir preview, this one is 100% focused on Michael Todd Simpson. It understandable, though - he makes a great Don Juan. It's funny to see him in all that finery, though - last time I saw him on stage, he was wearing a tartan for Lucia di Lammermoor! Glad to see they toned down the hair, though - I saw an early production photo and it was a bit much. The staging of the Act I finale looks a little silly, though - what good is his little dagger going to do if Ottavio has a gun?

And now that I've bored everyone to tears, I'll move on.

Hey NarniaGirl and Fanny! How are you two doing?

*waves to Fanny and lys*

A wave ... is that all I get? :-s :(( ;) By the way, I'm still planning to drop by the Books! thread at some point. I just have so much to catch up on!

Does anyone besides myself have a love-hate relationship with the topic review box? It's a wonderful concept, and I almost always end up using it to my advantage, but it is slightly annoying that once one comes to the end of a post they have to scroll back up to get to the next one.

I was really nervous about the piano recital, but I'm so glad it ended well

:D

Have a wonderful vacation! We'll miss you around here, Narnia Girl. Enjoy! (Any chance you will get to see a southern gospel group perform on your trip? :D)

Wow, Fanny, thanks for that history lesson! :D Your brother and you should write a book together, methinks. :)

Has Anyone Seen the New Robin Hood movie that is in theaters? If so is it worth watching?

I haven't, but if you check in the Present Movies thread, you might get some help. In fact, lookee that, the first comment on that page definitely relates. :-bd I believe there were a couple of posts on the page before, as well. Anyway, right around where I linked to should help you make your decision. :)

Aiden, Orious probably won the prize for the longest posts ever. ;)) If I had the time, I'd try and find a link from the old forum.

Ah good, so you get to visit with your cousins too. Niiice!

Whoa, GtG, that mint chocolate-chunk ice cream sounds rather delicious.

Glad you're feeling better, lys. I've been wondering about seeing Edge of Darkness, so thanks for posting your thoughts in the Past Movies thread. Better than Taken, you say? Good stuff. As you know, I found the ending of Taken quite unrealistic. The story itself was intense but the film, overall, was not a huge stand-out, except for Liam Neeson's acting. Man, he's excellent!

As to how I'm doing, I think between my two posts and my PM, you should know. You did get my PM, didn't you?

Yes, I do, and yes, I did (many thanks). ;)) I just post the "how dost thou doest" 'cause it was fun to write and so others could do how thou art. :p

*loves when lys gets going on Opera* I do learn something from your rambles, you know.

What 'topic review' box? And I'm a mod? /:)

*wants to see the new Robin Hood movie*

Can one still access the old forum? I did a search for it a few weeks ago and it had suddenly disappeared. Have we hit the year mark and it has now disappeared?

Pretty much the main appeal of Taken for me was LIAM NEESON in an Action Movie. It was just wonderful to see him play such an unusual role (for him) and do so well in it. Overall, though, it disappointed me - given the basic concept and the leading actor, they could have come up with something so much better than they did.

Haha! Now I'm considering asking you to list things you have learned from my operatic ramblings, because I don't believe you really have - or at least, I don't think you could have retained much of them. And of course real learning doesn't occur until it's applied. ;)

When you type your reply on a separate page (with fonts and colors et al.), the most recent posts appear below the "post a reply" box under the label "topic review."
