*Enters with her head hung in shame* I've not been here for a while...

Ah, that's neat. Yeah, laptop keyboards take a while to get used to. Must be hard to use with it hooked up to a monitor, huh?
Yes, I know, I know, I smacked my forehead when I realized what you meant.

It's a little tricky, but it's not that bad. I just put the laptop on my lap and the monitor sits on my desk.
lol. I do stuff like that all the time. I see you watched up through episode eight. Did you like them? Episode eight, that's Tattoo, what Tattoo? Right? That one was kinda weird, but you have to laugh at the look on Will's and Allan's faces after their blurted confessions. :P Bother, I keep seeing that you watched another episode. :P What's the title of nine? Why did you like it? (It's been a while since I've seen it)

Should I just say "WinterStar/RubyGamgee"? ;)) You're welcome. :)

You can keep coming up with creative titles...that's much more entertaining. ;))

I'm going to have to disagree with Valia there. ;)) I don't think that Robin wears leather. He does in the 3rd season, but not the other two, I don't think.

Huh, really? I wonder where Valia got her idea from, then, she hasn't seen season three.
Oh, congrats on the new niece! :)

*waves back* Hey,NN! :) How have you been? Btw,that rhyme was completely slightly unitentional. ;))

jo:That would be pretty cool if that happened! =)) ;)) I'm pretty sure the majority of marine life regenerates(starfish included),which is fascinating,considering not many(if any) land-animals do.

Ali:lol,I would too. Scream,that is. ;))

Yeah,but at least I'm getting her to listen to better music. :P Still haven't made very much progress with RK and SF though... Wait I take that back,I did get her addicted to "Sadie Hawkins Dance". But she won't listen to the stuff I put on her iPod.<_<

That's what I get for being a procrastinator-extrodinare. :P I'm sure I'll like it! :) I'm tempted to read an online synopsis though...;)) :P

I haven't listened to it yet,but I've almost finished learning it on the piano. :P You're right it's very pretty! :x I'll have to play it at church sometime. :)

Cool! How was it? :) I still have a TON of work to make up,plus those two papers. :| Like I said,procrastinator-extrodinare. :P lol,I don't think I'll be taking a spring break either. ;))

I had the most AMAZING weekend! :D Saturday was really busy and I ate way to much,but it was still fun. That morning I went with my sister's to a special tea party at church,and I think I enjoyed it more than they did. ;))
Then after that I went to my 2nd cousin's wedding reception.(the ceremony was private) *sigh* She looked like a princess! And her new husband is very nice. Weddings are just so much fun!
Then I went to a baby shower for my late uncle's girlfriend. She got so much stuff,I don't think that baby Brooklyn Renee will ever run out of clothes. ;))

Lady_Liln,it's regular bio. Right now we're in the zoology section in the amphibian chapter. My sister thinks I'm crazy,but I love disecting. It makes me feel very much like a mad scientist. ;)) :p

Queen Susan,prayed for you. I know you did great. :)

Belllaaa!!! How are you?? :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I talked with my dad last night,and I'm gonna talk to my pastor about it Wednesday,but I really feel like I should play once a month on Sunday mornings. Our Sunday morning pianist is "borrowed" from another church,and I feel really bad that she hardly ever gets to go to hers. :(
*enters square reciting her speech*
I've got about the first four paragraphs perfectly memorized, but I have about five more to go before I'm done. Two of them are really short, though. So I hope to be done in a couple of days. :)
Anywho....it has been a long while. I don't think I've been away from the square this long in, well, a long time. :P
It seems I have a lot of ancient and old catch up to finish...which I am determined to finish!!
*waves to Boe* Have you gotten over your cold yet? I would imagine you have...it's been so long. :P
Libby!!! How have you been? Have you recovered from vertigo yet? I hope so!
Sounds like you had an equally fun weekend. :) What kind of keyboard are you wanting to get and what kind of songs are you working on? (Sorry for the barrage of questions.... )
Heehee! Oh, that's perfectly alright. I'm not sure exactly what kind of keyboard I want, yet. Probably a simple, not so expensive, but good quality one. And one that has full sized keys and the same number of keys as a grand piano, and is pressure sensitive, so it can play pretty much like a regular piano.
Oh, and the keyboard has to be able to take headphones. I'm sure most electric keyboards do. My brothers want me to get a keyboard that can be played with headphones in, so that I can play without making any noise. :)
*waves to johobbit* How are you? I haven't seen you in a while...and it looks like I've missed quite a lot of your posts on the square.
Thank you! I don't believe that rock/rap can really influence people for the better, no matter what people claim. And, if people are looking to music to move them to a close relationship with Christ, there's something wrong.
I would have to disagree with you on the first bit. But, I do believe that people should not be looking to music to strengthen their relationship with Christ. Sometimes God uses music to move people, just like he uses certain books and circumstances in peoples' lives. But the only place where we can be sure to find God, is in his word, the Bible.
Thanks for the discussion! I enjoy good, sincere discussions. :) And sorry that it's taken me so long to reply...I've been ignoring NW for far too long. :P
None of my sisters have ever moved out when they were 18, or any other age, really. None of them went to college and then they moved out when they got married, so my family isn't the usual "kids move out when they're 18". ;))
My sisters didn't move out right at 18, but they did go off to college and start their own independent life. I wish one of them would get married soon...:P
Oof! Memorizing it does sound like it will be the hard part. :( I'm sure that you'll do great though!
Thanks, Djaq! I've memorized about half of it so far and am really familiar with all of it. I'm actually having a lot of fun with it. It's a very sarcastic speech. I definitely like it a lot more than reciting one of my own speeches... :P
It is quite fun! :) Ooh, I hope that you are both able to take voice lessons!! :D That sounds great!
My mom is considering cutting back a lot of my school work next year to study music and practice. I've been progressing somewhat rapidly in piano, but I'm still way behind and will have to work extremely hard if I want to make it my profession. My mom thinks that I'm going to make voice my profession. I would like to make both. :)
Speaking of which, how are all the music lessons going for you?
Ali! *hugs* How are you?
*waves to Queen Susan, Bella (not from Twilight), Lady Amalthea, Atamar, PoN, and KingsKid*
Huge ditto here! It's frustrating, isn't it? For myself, I actually really appreciate knowing as close as possible as to what sort of negative content is included (unless it's something really bad), and where it is and such, and so therefore assume that other people would like the same, and then of course I make it sound like the whole movie/book is awful. :( Ah well.
Heehee! I guess that's the way it works. You don't want to give away any of the good spoilers, but I always feel a little obligated to let people know about some of the rougher content they should be aware of. :P
Alas, no. :( I think if I could, I'd like to finish watching Season 2 first. We got about halfway through watching it online but the place from where we were watching it had some really bad advertisements and other featured videos that we decided it'd be best to stop. Now that I think of it, I'm even wondering it it was illegal to watch it online.... Anyways. :) So perhaps someday I'll get around to it. ;)
Ah, yes! In my opinion, the second series is probably the best. Well, it's my favorite at any rate. :) Have fun finishing them up!
How has life been for me? Well, lesse, it's been rather eventful. This past weekend, I got to participate in a thirty-hour famine to raise funds for children in Haiti and poverty awareness in the community. It was a really successful fast and we raised a lot of money. I had never done a famine before that, so I actually enjoyed the experience.
Thank you for your prayers! How has everything been going for you?
*smiles at Georgie's colorful posts* I love all the colors!! Your posts always cheer me up. :)
Good, I just got finished with spring break and I did too many fun things that it would take forever to tell! What are you up to??
I'm glad that you had such a great spring break!! I'm just about to have mine. My online classes always have them over Easter. :) Well, other than school, I haven't been up to much. I participated in a 30-hour famine this past weekend which was exciting! We raised money for children in Haiti by going without food for 30 hours. :)
You know,I seiously might ask for an electric keyboard...I used to think I wasn't good enough to be a music major,but right now I think I might just be able to do it.
I was thinking the same thing last year, but this year I'm determined!! I'm just so behind that I'll have to work extremely hard, but oh well. I love music! :)
I think dad's going to give me his truck,but I don't like having to make such wide turns with it. 8-|
Heehee! Winty and I were talking about what kind of cars we would want the other day, and she said something to the affect of "with my luck, I'll get my dad's truck." I would feel nervous driving a truck. To be honest, I'd feel nervous driving any car. :P
The Potter's School? I've heard about it,but haven't looked it up yet. That's so neat about you and Kat!
Sadly, I think this is my last year on it. *sniff* Yeah, it was really funny when we discovered that we both went to the same online school and we had sort of seen each other around the school forums, which was even funnier... :P
So how have things been for you lately? :)
Pretty crazy, actually! I have all these school assignments that I'm trying to complete before Friday. Ack! And they all have to be done around the same time. :P It's been a scramble recently, but I'm getting everything done. :)
How about you? I love your sig by the way! I love that song so much. :) Have you seen the music video to it?
Djaq!!!! That's so cool that your sister had her baby! Now we can call you Auntie Djaq!! ;) Juliette is a beautiful name. Oh, that's so exciting!
*waves to JoJo* Birthdays are exciting! Heehee! I do the same when my siblings have birthdays, but like you said, might as well while we're young! :)
Is that....Lady Liln???!!! :-o *TACKLES* Good to see you on the square!! What have you been up to lately?
*pant, pant*
I haven't written a post that long in...ages...
But it looks like I'm done, at least for now!! I must be off! School calls!
God bless, everyone!
Mortereve all!
Well... I finished the first season of Robin Hood over the weekend! :D It was great, I really enjoyed it.
Nice haircut, Bennett! :)
Ach, Aiden, isn't it frustrating when people don't meet a deadline that involves you, especially if you're (and I think you are) one who sticks to the schedule. Ah well, patience is a virtue. Having said that, have you tried to graciously talk to them about this?
Yeah, it is. No, I've not talked to anyone about this since that's not really my job. I know the girl in charge of the newsletter and the youth pastor have addressed it before, but nothing seems to change. I'd feel like I was stepping out of line if I brought it up, and I doubt it would do any good. Ah well, as long as I keep myself in check, I'm alright! ;)) :)
Mm, the one I'm thinking about is in the 2nd season, I believe. Will's brother comes back; really good show. :)
Ah, interesting.
She joined about a year ago or so, but she only recently was allowed to use her account. I will. :) She's talked about posting here a few times, but I think having all these conversations and people talking at once kinda scares her. :P
Oh, I see. Yeah, I don't blame her, it can get quite confusing!
That was an interesting show. I liked the theme and the explosions. :P Actually, the explosions weren't that cool...but whatever... Not one of my faves, but at least it has Marian "break up" with Guy. :D
Oh well, I liked it. Probably because it's one of the few with nothing especially sad happening. ;)) What do you mean Marian broke up with Guy in that one? /:)
ugh, after you watch the series finale you won't like Guy much at all. I'm finding him a bit despicable now. :|
That was sad- I cried. I liked the episode and I'm so glad that Eve didn't turn Much in but it was sad how he finally fell in love and couldn't stay with her :( .
Well, I've seen the season finale. I don't know that there's necessarily anything that makes me like him less... he's just been despicable the whole time.
Yeah, it was really sad. I've been spoilered on NW, so I pretty much know how every episode is going to turn out, so I knew Eve was not going to turn in Much... ;))
I think I might have just imagined it. Whatever. :p
lol, ok. ;))
Hey, Aiden! I've missed y'all in here. Life's been very busy. #:-s
We've missed having you. Yeah, I'll bet it has been. :| I'm still amazed at how you remember what color you use for each of us!
Hehe, glad of that, Aiden! How's your Little Women play coming along? :)
It's coming along well, thanks! The play's only about 5 or 6 weeks away. That's not very much, considering how long we've been working on it.
It's a little tricky, but it's not that bad. I just put the laptop on my lap and the monitor sits on my desk.
lol. I do stuff like that all the time. I see you watched up through episode eight. Did you like them? Episode eight, that's Tattoo, what Tattoo? Right? Why did you like it? (It's been a while since I've seen it)
Gotcha. Well, it just seems like a bit of a pain.
Yup, that's 8. I agree that it was kinda weird. Definitely not one of my favorites. But, yeah, that awkward moment was great. ;)) Episode 9 is "A Thing or Two About Loyalty". It has a neat plot, and I liked how Eve turned out.
*waves back* Hey,NN! :) How have you been? Btw,that rhyme was completely slightly unintentional. ;))
I've been great, thanks! How about you? Lol, nice rhyme. ;))
I would have to disagree with you on the first bit. But, I do believe that people should not be looking to music to strengthen their relationship with Christ. Sometimes God uses music to move people, just like he uses certain books and circumstances in peoples' lives. But the only place where we can be sure to find God, is in his word, the Bible.
I'm sorry, but I believe that's very wrong. Music is intended for the worship and glorification of Christ, not for us. All music should be for God. And there's no way something that humans write can strengthen our relationship with Christ. Now it can teach us principles that would make us want to do good, or whatever, but not actually directly relating to our relationship or anything like that. That just crazy. I'm sorry if I've offended you or anyone that believes this...
Thanks for the discussion! I enjoy good, sincere discussions. :) And sorry that it's taken me so long to reply...I've been ignoring NW for far too long. :P
Same here. And, I think a lot of this is just an application of principles, so one of us isn't necessarily right or wrong.
Not a problem. :)
Well, I'm off! Have a loverly mortereve, all!
*I must say Cor, those pancakes were very good! :D Much better than the round, burnt stones you tried to serve us last time. Or the frisbees you tried serving the time before that. Oh yeah! and then there were....*
Vern. That's quite enough, thank you. :-w
*Oh, sorry. Got a tad carried away there.... ;)) *
"A tad"? /:)
*Yes, well.... ymwhisle *
Anyway, Mortereve all! I meant to stop by yesterday, but never got around to it....
*Cor and Vern take their seats at the fountain as the Prince begins catching-up*
------------------------------
@ LL. Yeah, it can be most annoying. :( Yesterday and today it's sunny and cold. I wonder where Spring went to.... :-
I figured you would remember that, especially since you were one of the ones that gave me such a hard time about it.... ;) :p
Glad to hear you've been doing well. Yes, it was quite nice chatting with you and the others on Thursday night. :)
@ Jo. Re: the Square Girls: I believe it was an unfortunate attempt to capitalize on the newly minted term "SquareOnions". Also the fact that I always seemed to be in the Square with a bunch of girls young ladies just added to things. In hinds sight, it was a very bad idea.... [-( :p
Thank you for the compliment Jo! :D (1) I actually prefer it a little shorter as well. Before my hair kept sliding down into my face, which made it a little difficult to eat when you have to pull your hair out of your face every few minutes. ;))
Vern did get his claws trimmed a little bit, much to the relief of Lady A. :)
@ Lark. *taps Lark on the shoulder* Hello there! It's been awhile since I've spoken to you. How is everything with you at present?
@ NN. You were probably looking at the GDM albums for the two scores. They're an Italian soundtrack company, so the track listings and liner notes are in Italian. :) Oh well, I really like it, though Dad doesn't. It sounds cool. B-)
I'm not sure.... I know they had to film The Dark Knight with special cameras for the IMAX version. Not sure if that's what they have to do in order to show it on IMAX or not. :-??
@ Ali. Aww.... :( That's happened before with some of our VHS tapes. We'd try to watch them and the tape would get chewed up. :-s Well, I hope you can get it from NetFlix soon! :)
Thanks! :D (2)
@ LL again. Thanks! (3)
*Vern returns the wave to LL. Hopefully next time you stop by I'll be around :) *
@ Bella. Yeah, that nickname sure gets around.... :p Well, you haven't missed too much. I would recommend seeing it for the scenery at least. Like I've said earlier, there is some great cinematography in the film.
Thank you most kindly! *bows* (4)
*Yes, it has been a while hasn't it. Anyway, I'm doing quite well, thank you! :) The hunting hasn't been the best of late, but the fishing has been splendid! :D *
@ KK. Wow, major thanks KK! (5)
You might have mentioned before, but what did you think of it? :) It's definitely not a great film, but a good monster movie in my book.
@ Ruby. Sounds like you have everything figured out for your keyboard. :) I would make a recommendation about a certain brand or something, but seeing as how I know nothing about keyboards, I'll simply let wiser minds make suggestions. ;))
@ NN again. Thanks! (6)
--------------------
Alright, I think that gets everything. I hope everyone is having a good Monday! Talk with ya'll later!
Sounds like you're having fun! The 30-hour Haiti famine probably made you feel really good doing something nice, right? :)
Haha, that's true GeorgieXO! After leaving for a while, I've noticed the pages grow and grow. Although, unlike some braves, I don't usually pick up after 30 pages unless I really have time on my hands or I'm desperate to. :P That sounded odd, but I hope people take it the right way, lol.
All right, name bolded and ready for you to see-- I'm good. :D😉
Ha ha...I wish everyone would stop posting when you stop! :p Thanks for bolding my name, it works out good for me! :D By the way, I chose you for Name That NarniaWebber!
*enters munching on a granola bar after taking a nice walk in the beautiful weather*
Yes! I said "beautiful weather"!! Not rainy, not cold, not a cloud in sight!!! It is beautiful!!
I just finished reading through the book of Leviticus and hope to start Deuteronomy tomorrow. I have to say that it's very hard to understand those books and to not get so caught up in just trying to wade through all of the laws and ordinances and names. I like to read the names out loud, just to see if I can pronounce them or not. :P I'm trying to read through the entire Bible. I have never been successful in doing so yet, so I'm determined!
I forgot to mention this earlier, but guess what I watched last night? Have any of you seen the movie Blind Side? Well, my parents saw it in theaters when it came out and the rest of the family (including me) watched it all together last night. I must say, it was very, very good. I enjoyed it a lot!
*wonders what happened to Aiden's avatar*
Aiden, like I said, I enjoy having discussions like that! I really do. :) It helps me understand where people with different perspectives and beliefs are coming from. And don't worry, I didn't take anything personally. Thanks again!
Georgie, colorful posts are a lot more fun to read too! :) The 30 Hour Famine made me feel hungry, for the most part. But we had a lot of activities to keep me preoccupied and my mind off my stomach. :P And it was good to raise all that money. :)
Errg! My brothers had to watch The Great Escape today! I hate that movie, just because it has such a depressing ending. *plugs ears* I can hear it in the other room...
Well, I'm afraid that's all I have for today! I hope you all have a good evening!
God bless!!
I'm not sure.... I know they had to film The Dark Knight with special cameras for the IMAX version. Not sure if that's what they have to do in order to show it on IMAX or not. :-??
Well, let's see... It says "RCA Records Label". Does that mean anything? Well, everyone has different tastes.
Well, I know we have a special kind of IMAX theater around here called an Omni Theater (not sure if that's a common thing or just local) where the screen is a sort of dome that curves all the way around you. I'm pretty sure it takes a special camera to shoot film for that. I don't know if a regular IMAX movie also needs a special camera. It seems like most of the recent movies that have been in 3D have been at the IMAX theater, so hopefully VDT will, too.
*wonders what happened to Aiden's avatar*
Hmm, it seems to have disappeared! Well, no matter, it's back now.
Aiden, like I said, I enjoy having discussions like that! I really do. :) It helps me understand where people with different perspectives and beliefs are coming from. And don't worry, I didn't take anything personally. Thanks again!
Yeah, same here. Now my ideal debate is over something factual (for example, creation vs. evolution)... With music, it's a lot a matter of opinion and application of principle, so I can only say what I believe is right; I might be wrong. Know what I mean?
Errg! My brothers had to watch The Great Escape today! I hate that movie, just because it has such a depressing ending. *plugs ears* I can hear it in the other room...
Splutter, splutter! Ah, feels like home!
Thank you, Winter. That is a lot of disinfectant, but we're dealing with a lot of dragon! Fortunately, it was a false alarm on my part. Vern is doing quite well, so the Royal Cleaning Crew was much relieved - as was I and King Lune. #:-s
*waves to Bella, Winter, Ruby Gamgee, NN, LL, Tiana, Johobbitty, Stargazer, Prince Cor, Vern & Co.*
Goodnight to all. Cozy slippers (which is much better that slippy cozers).
Hey ho, all! :)
We've been emailing back and forth since I help her with an little indy a couple of months ago. She's already contacted the director, and it looks like we might have a chance to meet.
Cool! Keep us posted on this, s'il vous plait. :) EDIT: Aha, I see an update later on that sweeet isn't able to work in the film group this summer. Too bad! But hopefully, as you say, you will be able to meet up at some point. :)
I like Dakota Fanning, the cute animals, and animation better in new. But I really like the older one probably better. They are both so cute! (It was the first movie to make me cry when I was little :p --I'm a softy--)-
I know what you mean. I always tear up when Charlotte dies (despite the fact I'm a spider-despiser, usually :p).
I'm fearing it's just a prelude to an upcoming storm that won't end til Finals are over.
Ah, 'tis so nice to see you whenever you can drop in. And all the best in this last stretch of the school year. and prayers for you ...
Did you get the link where they were banned?
Yes, ;)) I saw that link. What a hoot!
Queen Susan! Grand to see you here again. How did your piano competition know. Goodness knows I've been in many of those in my life and they are nerve-wracking, to say the least. I hope you were satisfied with your performance. What piece did you play?
Pity you couldn't go kayaking, Tiana. Hopefully another time soon. :)
Bella! So lovely you dropped by. Do come more often ... if you can. That was a bang-up ketchup post! :D Whoa, two posts in one page?! Niiiice!
Kingskid, I so enjoyed your hunting paragraph. The emotion in there almost made me cry. ;)) Really, though, its' cool to see your passion for this.
Winter, Winter! :D I must say, nice job on the Script Frenzy Intro. Thanks for starting that. :) Your sister didn't have to twist your arm toooo badly, I hope? ;) Or maybe she just offered you ... chocolate (which would never work for Aiden, but that's beside the point ;))).
I'm pretty sure the majority of marine life regenerates
I did not know that. Cool! :) How is your dissecting going this week? Any new and exciting discoveries? *loves dissecting too* ('though I haven't done it in years)
Okay, Lark, now you have Sadie Hawkins dance soooo stuck in my head. :p Catchy song, that.
I hope you get to play at church one Sunday a month. That would be good experience for you, and so kind of you to help out the 'borrowed' pianist. :)
1F Jo? THAT IS SICK. :P
Sick?! I loved it! :)) Mind you, by Friday here we should have temperatures up in the low 80s ... with humidity! Good grief! This is the end of March/beginning of April, for Pete's sake (who's Pete anyway? :p). We're usually still getting snow this time of year! /:)
I hurt from soccer last night, but I'll live.
I surely hope so! ;)
*drools (into her Drool Bucket, of course) anytime the Olive Garden is even hinted at. ;))
Ruby! Wow, it's been awhile. Good to see you. So, you're thinking of making music your profession? As in teaching or performing or ... both? :D
Ah well, as long as I keep myself in check, I'm alright!
This is very true. Well, continued success with this venture. I think it's great you're so faithful in doing this ... and have been for awhile now. :)
*waves a huge wave to PrinceCor and Vern* Vern likes pancakes, eh? Wanna try these out? :D Hmm, they almost look too perfect, don't they? Ah well, enjoy!
*chuckles once again at the SquareGirls story* Ah yes, I recall that now. So funny!
which made it a little difficult to eat when you have to pull your hair out of your face every few minutes
Yep, hair and food do taste kinda nasssty together, don't they? :p
Good for you, Ruby, for reading through Leviticus. Did you have a study book alongside to help?
Ah The Great Escape. Yes, the ending is so sad, but wow, what a story. Have you read the book? It's worth the read, to be sure, although still with the same conclusion. :(
Lady A, what are we going to do with you? You keep falling in that fountain. And it's all because of ... chocolate. ;)) Should we pull an attractive railing up around it to prevent this from ever happening again? I gather you never got that delectable morsel from the tree, so I'll try and *streeeetch* reach it for you. There it is! Enjoy!
Btw, I love your new avatar. That is really beautiful. And you say Bella made it for you?
Wait, Vern needs some Giant Tums for his tummy? Would this extra-large bottle do the trick? Oh, wait again, Vern's doing all right now? Well, save these for future use ... and do have that Royal Disinfectant and cleaning crew handy at the time.
Cozy slippers (which is much better that slippy cozers).
But is it better than Sozy Clippers? You see, slippy cozers sound cozy, but not safe, 'cause they slip. ;)) Mind you, Sozy Clippers could sound kinda dangerous, so ... *ponders*
And there's no way something that humans write can strengthen our relationship with Christ.
Hmm, I think they can. I think of my favourite non-fiction books by Lewis, Tolkien, Victor Hugo (Les Misérables)—the latter who wasn't even a Christian, from what I know—and can honestly say that their writings have been a very large influence on me in my relationship with Christ, and have drawn me closer to Him. The themes in their wonderful stories have replicated Biblical themes and impressed upon me in a fresh and new way what God's principles are and what Christ has done for us. As Lewis said, and I love this quote:
"The value of myth is that it takes all the things we know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity."
and ...
"Myth is a real, though unfocused gleam of Divine Truth falling on human imagination."
Anyway, I could go on and on, but those are a few of my thoughts and experience in a human's writing drawing me closer to Christ. If their work reflects His principles and ways, I will be drawn in praise to Him. And as Tolkien said, we humans are not creators, we are sub-creators, because there is only one Creator, who has endowed us with talents and abilities to point others to Him. It's rather very beautiful, I find.
Just realized I was focusing on books, but the same applies to music. It draws me to God like little else, even solely instrumental pieces. I can honestly say—and I don't say this lightly in the least—that The Lord of the Rings score has lifted my soul to God numerous times because of its utter beauty ... and beauty is God-created ... as has songs by artists such as TobyMac or Pillar or even *gasp* Haste the Day; also many styles in between.
*clicks "Submit" before this becomes even longer ;))
Mortereve all!
*Hangs head in shame* Did you like it? Which episode was your favorite? Least favorite?
lol, yes I loved it. A favorite is hard to pick... I'd probably say it's a tie between the first and last episode. Some other favorites were "Turk Flu", "A Thing or Two About Loyalty", and "Peace? Off!". My least favorite was definitely "Parent Hood"... so sad. :(
*waves in return to Lady A* How are things at the loverly castle of the Royal Family?
Your sister didn't have to twist your arm toooo badly, I hope? ;) Or maybe she just offered you ... chocolate (which would never work for Aiden, but that's beside the point ;))).
Actually, that would work. You know, if I had to do something or else I would be given chocolate. :-s ;))
This is very true. Well, continued success with this venture. I think it's great you're so faithful in doing this ... and have been for awhile now. :)
Thank you! :)
Aunty Jo, I realize after the fact my wording was a bit off with "there's no way something that humans write can strengthen our relationship with Christ." Of course the principles of books can influence us for the better; the beauty of music can draw us toward the beauty of God's creation. I simply meant one shouldn't be looking to music (as in the case of my original conversation) to have an "experience" or such that "moves" someone toward Christ. Does that make sense?
The Square has been moving very slowly, lately! Well, mortereve all.
You know, if I had to do something or else I would be given chocolate.
:)) Yeah. What kind of sweets do you enjoy?
Ah yes, that makes more sense, thanks for clarifying, Aiden. :) Yes, one does have to be very careful of basing our relationship with Christ purely on experiences, rather than the trustworthy facts of God's Word and what Christ has done.
And on another note, I still love what you have in your sig: "Once a SquareOnion, always a SquareOnion" ;))
