Good mortereve, all.
How are y'all? It's been a relatively quiet day here on Medic 7. One walk in, one run with another unit.
Jo, I've been enjoying going back and reading those old posts. It's been a while since then.
Cor, as for the "Cookies we shall not name"..........I adapted from John White's Archives of Anthropos..........don't remember which book it was. The first, I think, "The Sword Bearer". Been a long time since I've read them.
I spent part of my last shift here watching the first two Bourne films. First time I've seen them. I didn't have the third one to watch. I also want to read the books. My paramedic that I used to work with said they're way better than the films.
It has obviously been way too long since I've posted on here. I don't even remember which avvy and sig set I have on here. *blushes*
Anyway, not too much going on. Was at a Trench Rescue course a couple weeks ago. Very fun, and also educational.
*is going back through some of the old posts, laughing* Good times those were.
OK, I'm going to post this, as I don't really have much more to say. Then I think I'll go change my avvy and sig..........

Good mortereve everyone.
I figured on a day when StudyMate returns, and Atamar posts, I should probably reciprocate.
*waves to all the Dittopians about*
Jo, Stargazer...ya'll can keep the snow. We had flurries this morning, and I am ready for it to leave. It is Spring now and that means turkey hunting. You don't hunt turkeys in the snow in the South!;)
Atamar, the Bourne movies are excellent. The third definitely fills any gaps left by the first and second.
Jo, I am also looking forward to the Last Airbender. I hope that they don't mess with the series' story line too much, but am sure that Shayamalan will do well.
I haven't been up to much lately, except for school and playing the banjo when I can.
How are ya'll doing this evening?

Heya, KK.
It snowed here a few weeks ago. I got to drive the engine code three in it. That was fun. Definitely an experience.
You need to convince Dad to go up there and turkey hunt with y'all.
I definitely want to watch the third Bourne film. Not sure when I will, though. Don't know if the library has it or not....
Hey, by the way, in the cookbook I sent, is the recipe for both our potato salad, and our dressing. (The recipe for the cornbread that we use for the dressing is in the cookbook too..........close to the back, I think.)
Is the fire department where you are volunteer or paid, or do you know? And is it both fire and EMS, or are they two separate things?

*Lady Amalthea enters the Square, chuckling softly to herself*
Mortereve all! I am exceptionally pleased to see That Johobbit Person and Stargazer in the Square - my two most favorite Square Onions!
I must admit that I am glad that I am not the only one that Vern douses in the fountain! Prince Cor was rather soppy when he returned to the castle, so he had to change out of his wet clothes and in to a dry bathrobe (with the Royal Crest, of course) before King Lune would allow him to enter Anvard. It's the one time that I was glad that the stables are so close to the castle! In the summer it can be rather.... um, bothersome. At least when the wind is blowing the wrong way.
Let me see, it seems that there was a remark by Miss Jo regarding "batty-ness." Ah! I remember! Yes, we are rather batty at times in Archenland, but the centaur was certain that putting up several bat houses would help with the mosquito problem. It has certainly helped save my tapestries from the moths! At least, what's left of my tapestries since Vern had that cold a while back and blasted fire with every sneeze....
I must run for now, but I am truly looking forward to reading about the Cookies That Shall Not Be Named. Cor told me about that, but his storytelling skills were not quite so developed as they are now.
*Lady Amalthea takes the usual path home - by way of the chocolate tree. The Lady and the tree were gleefully re-united and much of the fruit was harvested. The Lady's pocketses, however, may never be the same.*
You've been talking to King Lune again, haven't you? First Vern, now the King... I've got to start paying my narrators more.
*It would be nice if you paid us in the first place, perhaps. Just a suggestion....*

Atamar. Wow. Snow in Texas. Okay, I won't say that is shocking considering it snows in North Texas every winter, but for ya'll, wow.
Sweet....
Yes, I do. It would be awesome. There are definitely plenty of them around, and they are ripe for the..er..plucking.
Okay. I don't know if that would be a movie a library would have. But if they do, it is worth watching.
Alright, thanks. I had my eye out for the potato salad recipe. Appears to be the same as moms excluding the pickles. Mom uses sweet, your mom uses dill. Mom's is still better.
I don't know if it is volunteer or paid for certain, but I think that it is volunteer. Again, don't know for certain, but I think it is both...
And hello to Lady A posting above me.

Hiya, there, Lady A. *waves merrily*
KK, Ja, it was pretty impressive. The snow, I mean. Not driving in it. Though that wasn't half bad either. I was with one of the Brits, driving and looking around at the snow, going, "this is so cool". I was politely informed that is nothing unusual and that I should be paying attention to my driving, not the snow. I kindly suggested that being from England, no it was not unusual, but that being from here, it was extremely unusual, especially as the last time it really snowed was at night.
Ripe for the plucking. Nice. LoL.
The library had the first two. Don't know if they have the third.
My pleasure.
OK. I disagree, though. My Mom's is better.
Though the pickles are the one point of debate for us. Mom thinks they should be small and few. The rest of us think they should be big and plentiful.
OK, fair enough. Just curious......
"Let no man's ghost return to say his training let him down."
LOL. Right. I hardily agree. Southerners are not in the same latitude as England, we have to deal with heat all year, not cold. LOL.
Yeah, I thought so. Although, we don't actually pluck them. We usually just peel the skin back, feathers and all. It is faster, and I would say it is more efficient that way. Less mess as well.
Okay, cool.
I wonder how it is that I knew you would say that?:P I still say we will have to have them both made by our respective mothers and then compare if we are to truly determine the whose is best.
LOL. Pickles are definitely tasty. A friend of mine asked me the other night, is a pickle a fruit, or a vegetable. What say you?
Alright. If I find out for sure what it is, I will let you know.

James 1:19-20"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God
Prezactly.
We do. OK, I don't know about turkeys, as we don't generally have any around here to pluck or skin. But chickens we pluck. But we have a plucker to do it with, which makes it much, much easier than doing it by hand. Though we've done that before too.
Great minds think alike?
The problem is, is that we would still both say our respective Moms' recipes are better. You can't override loyalties that easily.
They're made from cucumbers which are veggies, therefore, they, too, are vegetables.
OK, fair enough.
"Let no man's ghost return to say his training let him down."
I love that word.
Yeah. I would think so. Yeah. What exactly does a chicken plucker look like? Reminds me of a story I was told by my dad about his cousin. He had bought a new fish descaler that would take the scales off of the fish as you drove the boat. He put the fish in there and checked to see if it was working. Thought he should speed up some, get it going better. When they got back to the dock, the fish had disappeared.
Of course, of course.
Probably, especially if we were int he presence of our mothers. Nope.
Awe dang. I thought a cucumber was a fruit... And don't get on to me, that was just my thinking.
Aight.
Wow, it has been some time since we have had a conversation in the Square, by ourselves this late at night.

ROFL. Reminds me of something along the lines of a Pat McManus story for some reason..............
It looks like this: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3292/298 ... eafe9f.jpg
Uh, yeah. Very especially if our mothers were in the room.
Nope, don't think so. Not last I checked, anyway.
Yeah, it has been. Though my posts keep getting shorter and shorter. It's amazing how that happens.........
"Let no man's ghost return to say his training let him down."
LOL. Yeah, it does.
Okay. Dadgum. Looks like a torture device from the Middle Ages. Good thing the chicken is dead when he goes through that.
Yes, definitely.
Okay. I don't remember what my Biology textbook defined as a fruit, so that's what is throwing me off. I know that a tomato is a fruit though.
It is quite remarkable how that happens. My posts tend to diminish in size when yours do. It is a consequence, it "goes with it.":P
I would bring up the NCAA Tournament and the fact that almost every bracket in the country has been busted by the Kansas loss to NIU, but since you don't follow sports like me, I will not. (yes, I realize that I just did anyway...adds substance.

LoL. Yeah, it does, kind of, doesn't it? And the chicken doesn't go through it. It gets held over it.
Yeah. I don't know the exact definition. Just that a cucumber is a veggie. As far as I know, anyway.
"Every action has an equal and opposite reaction"?
LoL. OK. If you say so.
That's OK. You put up with hearing enough fire and medical stuff from me......turn about's fair play.
"Let no man's ghost return to say his training let him down."
LOL. Yes, it does. LOL. Okay, much better. So the chicken gets to squawk as it is lowered to the strange torture device instead of meeting a quick, painless death.jkjk*it is late, I think my brain is getting weird:P)
Alright, sounds good to me. I'll tell my friend.
Science rocks! Yes. That is Newton's second law I think.
I do. What was I saying?:P
I've heard that before.

Hey, you're the one with the turkey leg as your avvy.......I don't wanna hear about torturing poor chickens.
Cool.
I thought it was his third. I should know, considering we go over those for vehicle accidents....still don't remember, though.
OK. It is his third law.
I. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.
II. The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma. Acceleration and force are vectors (as indicated by their symbols being displayed in slant bold font); in this law the direction of the force vector is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.
III. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
I don't remember........that was too long ago.
*is definitely getting tired*
*props eyelids open*
"Let no man's ghost return to say his training let him down."
LOL. I do not torture turkeys. And that is all I have to say on the subject.
Very.
ROFL. Wow. You brought out the exact, formally worded definitions. I am humbled. Okay, third law. Good to know. I am sure that knowing this will come in handy in college.
LOL.
Hmm...that is probably something I should try. I don't have anything to use handy though...except for a bottle cap, those work well.
