Do you have an account with Netflix? if so then you should be able to watch it instantly.
yep, I'm watching the third episode right now
Hope you like it! (Robin Hood and the Book)
![]()
me too!
I knew it sounded familiar! I haven't ever read it, but I'm sure one of my older sisters read it for World History I class or something like that...I don't enjoy books like that, so I totally understand why you're not finding it particularly interesting.
I can't remember, is that a very long book? Homer's books are usually thick and a bit tough to read...(at least, they're tough for me
)
it is really thick. Normally I love books about the Trojan War but Homer drags out the story sooooo much and puts so much useless information in the book, it's really annoying. He ruined a good story
Lark: Ooh I'll have to listen to it! Wait what?!?! Grrr, to think that such a beautiful songs was written about *shudders* him.
yeah. Thanks for the hug
Oh yeah! Now I remember that part! Lol, that was funny
We had really bad wind/rain/snow storms up here and the power was out for a few days, so I had alot to catch up on, school and forum
Hehe . I might get more than one book then
. *didn't know about the werewolves*
Once you get past the kinda flowerly language and the occasional boring chapter, it's good. I'm in the chapter that's called Lotholorien, or whatever. Than Elvish forest.
btw, cool about Monticello

Here is something that my Dad said today at our "Family Time"
"Relationships are like a garden. Whether it be Marriage Friendships ect.
If you neglect your relationship with anyone the "weeds" will grow and your relationship will die.
But if you "water" your relationship then it will grow and get stronger!

*Cor and Vern enter the Square discussing their latest movie viewing, this time Legend*
*I was hoping that one would have a dragon in it. That's what all fantasy movies need, a dragon. Not one of those fake rubber things, but a realistic dragon like in "Dragonheart".*
Eh, possibly. I don't think a dragon could have saved that film though.... BTW, I posted a review of Legend in the SO Past Movie thread. *shameless self promotion there*
*The Prince and Dragon take their special seats at the fountain and wave to all present*
Well, time for yet another catch-up post. You people are posting quicker as of late....
--------------------
*chuckles at Lady A's and Vern's adventures without him*
@ Mel. I'm sure there were Henson puppets in the film. As far as I know, all the films that Mr. Henson has made have used his creature shop in someway. 3 out of 4 is a good score for a fantasy film.
*Ahh, I see. Yes, we dragon's tend to show affection in a slightly different way than humans. You should ask Cor sometime about the "tackling incident" when I was younger.... *
I think I still have a scar or two from that....
@ Ruby. That should be O.K with Vern. He's used to staying outside on occasion.
That's a very good idea, actually! I'll have to see what I can do about possibly getting Lady A to cook something for the SquareOnions.....
Glad you're doing better now!!
@ Ella. Nice to see you around!! It's been awhile since you stopped by. Please stop by again soon!
@ NN. I was really interested in Avatar before it came out and then I kind of lost interest in it when I saw what the story and everything was. I still want to see it on DVD though, mainly just see what James Cameron has done and if it's great or bad as people say it is.
Now that's it's getting closer and more information is being released, I'm trying to keep up with everything better. *reads article* Hmm, hopefully they won't throw in a bunch of "arrows flying at you" or "dragon/sea serpent or what not lunging at you" shots just because they can. *crosses fingers* I highly doubt they will though.
I was familiar with his cover, but had never heard it till you mentioned it. Trusty youtube to the rescue again! I like his rendition, though I prefer Morricone's original. There's something about the originals pace that just adds something.
@ Lark. They're non-profit sites. I could probably look around more and find a website that pays for reviews. Maybe PluggedIn needs another reviewer....
Ooh, good call! You can probably find the video on youtube or someplace. Save the cost of buying the DVD, unless you want the concert.
School is going well. It's getting near the end of the year (and of highschool!) so I'm mostly on the last or next to last book in my various subjects. Pretty much just trying to wrap everything up at this point.

Oh, ok. No, I haven't seen the BBC Robin Hood, but I've heard Djaq and you and others talk about it in the Square, and I've been wanting to see it for a while. But I doubt I'd be allowed to buy it, and I can't rent it anywhere... so I was hoping there were some episodes online, but I guess not.
How about this for a topic? What do you think of music? What do you consider Christian music or secular music? This is a topic that's been interesting me recently, especially since I have a keen interest in music.
![]()
Ah, music. That's a very interesting topic. All my family, the Christians at our church, and I have really high standards for music. I'm not really a music expert, so I couldn't necessarily give you criteria by which we decide what music is good, but I know that we would disagree with a lot of music that most everyone in the Square listens to.

I may end up seeing it eventually on DVD, too, but it's never seemed that appealing to me. The effects they've done seem rather strange, too.
I think news came out they weren't going to make it 3D, but I'm not positive. From the news we've been getting, I think I'm going to be quite happy about the film. I don't mind a tad bit of action thrown in there, and Apted says he's focusing on the story/characters which I believe. Should be good!
Haha's YouTube's great. I've not heard the original... I probably should. It's such a beautiful song, though, eh?

lol. I'm almost always on the computer when we're watching something. I'm very good at multi-tasking . Like right now, I'm posting this, listening to an audio book, drinking water, and brushing my little sister's hair.
Hehe, yeah. Well I cry in everything that's either sad or happy so, um, it's not a huge sign that I enjoy it

Well listening to something while doing something else is one thing! But watching a movie (or episode) and writing a post at the same time! You can't rightfully enjoy the movie if you do that
Hehe, yeah.
Well I cry in everything that's either sad or happy so, um, it's not a huge sign that I enjoy it

But still if you show emotion (like crying) while watching a movie, it makes you more connected to it and the characters And I'm glad that you are liking it so far

Good mortereve all!!!
It's only been a little over a week since I was last in here. I'm getting better about this! Okay, kidding. . .
How is everyone? Even when I don't post regularly, I read through most everything, so I pretty much know the answer to that question.
I started watching season one again
If I get the chance I might watch a episode or two but otherwise I think I'll stick to Season 1 and 2
We (flambeau and myself) finished watching through both seasons with some friends of ours and now we're watching season one again too. Good plan.
I'm so sorry to see that you were sick, Dani!!
Sometimes staying up late just can't be helped, like when heaps of home work call.
My sister has yet to move out. She's been backed up by bad weather and traveling details. But if all turns out she should be gone in a couple days. I'm actually glad that she's gotten to stay a little longer with us. She usually makes graphics for The Lions Call forum, but she made a few graphic sets for me in the right size for the NW forums.
Ah, yes. There is that.
So, she's moved out now, correct? That is good that she didn't have to leave as soon as you thought she would (for you, at least!).
That's great that she was able to make some graphics for you!
I have a few ideas, but I can't settle on one. See, I don't read historical speeches that much other than for school and so it's not like I have a favorite or something...but I would like to find an interesting one.
Math gives me trouble too. It's probably the subject I struggle the most with.Lol, I have to literally work through mine too...
Mmm. I don't read them often either. I'm trying to think of some, but none are really coming to mind. Have you thought of one yet?
Math is usually somewhat easy for me, and I like it well enough, but it's been difficult lately. I'm not as stressed out about it now as I was though, which is good.
A lot of Owl City's songs are like that. Random, very clever, very cheerful, and so cute!! (not to mention brilliant
)
Haha, yep! I don't listen to him very often, but whenever I do, his songs make me smile (if not laugh )!
Oh, and I'll say this one more time (though I've probably already said it several times already)...congrats to both you and flam for being mods of the week(s)!!

From what I heard from Cor, MotW sounds like a lot of fun. Glad you enjoyed it! And if I'm not mistaken, isn't Flam MotW now?*
It is fun! Challenging at times, but overall, it was fun. You were not mistaken. Flam was indeed MotW last week!
She enjoyed her week as well!
Ah, O.K. I'll have to check them out soon then.
Heh, kind of an odd username for posting Robin Hood videos...
"Legend of the Seeker" is fantasy TV show that looks like it was filmed in the same locations as LotR.It's a really weird show.
Alrighty. Yes, I suppose it is.
There's another BBC TV show called "Merlin", and many Robin Hood fans are also fans of that show. I haven't seen it, but I have really been wanting to!
Ah, I see. I won't be watching it then.
And by now as you know I have received and sent you a "thank you".
Of course, I guess it wouldn't saying it again so..... Thank you! I would be complete avvie-less without you and the other great graphic makers on this forum.

Thank you for both "thank you" 's! I appreciate your appreciation!
I'm glad that you request avvies from me, or I would be almost request-less, so we're even.
Well, the length wasn't that shocking, but the number of quotes to me was a little surprising. In a good way, of course!
Okay. Well, I usually quote someone so that I can reply to something they said to me, so, the more someone says to me, the more they will be quoted.
Super about the mandolin lessons, Djaq. It truly helps when a teacher—whether music or school, or anything—has a great sense of humour.

LOL! Seriously?
*reads through Lady A's post with interest* So lovely to see you about!
Hurray, a post from Djaq!
Yep, I'm back!
;)) I can understand that, and it would get a bit tiring after a while especially when one doesn't know what to do, and they really haven't got any ideas, and to have to tell people that time and time again would be really irritating, I think, even if the questions are well meant. To be reminded that you're approaching the age where a decision must be made and you don't know which path to chose, yes indeed.
But for now the question isn't old, and I'll give everyone here a special NWebber bonus: Y'all get to ask that question for free.
![]()
Yes indeed to all of that. Ooh, I got to ask for free??
Yay!
Thank you friend! Your words are very encouraging to me!
![]()
I am glad to hear that! You have encouraged me in many ways, and I am happy to return the favor!
I'll definitely be praying for you as you think about your future & etc!
It sounds like it was a really fun and fulfilling experience to work with disabled kids and be able to help them out, do you think you will be able to do it again this year?
Thank you very much! I really enjoyed volunteering there! We wanted to volunteer again for this session (they are six week sessions), so we contacted the volunteer coordinator about it, but she said that they already had enough volunteers for only day that would work for us. But, she did say that she would call us if she needed any replacements, so we were able to go last Thursday, and that was fun!
I'll have to listen to it sometime...I checked out a couple other Nickle Creek songs a while back, I liked what I heard but I didn't know the best song to "start" with...do you have any suggestions or particular favourite songs of theirs that you'd suggest to begin listening to them with?
The song that I heard first was "When You Come Back Down", which has remained as one of my favorites, but some of the other ones I like are "The Hand Song" (it tells a really cute story!), "Sweet Afton" (it was originally a poem), "Seven Wonders", "The Smoothie Song" (it's just instrumental, but it's still neat), "Out of the Woods", "This Side" (it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it's fun ), "The Fox". Most of those have lyrics, but they have quite a few instrumental songs, that are pretty too!
Wow, I hope I didn't overwhelm you with that list.
Congratulations on 1000 posts, flam!!!

EDIT: *listening to the soft patter of rain on the roof and listening to the song "Beloved" by Tenth Avenue North* What a great follow-up to the previous song! I love putting my music on "shuffle" and seeing what it plays...
Thought for The Day: This song asks the question, "When did love become un-consuming?" It's talking about our love for God. And I was just thinking, do I really let God's love consume me? Or do I let other things get in the way? Is my relationship with God so important to me that it covers every aspect of my life?
"Relationships are like a garden. Whether it be Marriage Friendships ect. If you neglect your relationship with anyone the "weeds" will grow and your relationship will die. But if you "water" your relationship then it will grow and get stronger!

Thank you my fair Squarian (what ever that means lol it just kind of goes good with Town 'Square' )
Congratulations on your one year anniversary, Ben!!
![]()
(yeah, it should probably be one thumb up, but it's close
)
Thanks Djaq! Yeah you can do it again for my second year anniversary
Wow! That is quite the post Djaq! How long did it take you to do it?
I like you location!
I love that quote! Funny thing is, I've been thinking about just this today.
Thanks for putting this up here!
Really!? That's cool! And your welcome
I shall have to look into those, especially since I love "Heaven and Earth" so much.

You might be able to find some of the songs on youtube.

Mortereve all!
hehe probably. I'm sure if I had my mom run over our conversation she'd find something wrong on both sides
![]()
.
Yeah, I'm sure she would.
Well I hope that you will be able to watch them somehow!
I think that you will like them!
Yeah, so do I. Yeah, I've seen clips online and I'm sure I'd like it.
Oh, I'm sorry! It's been a while since I've watched it, so I didn't remember.
![]()
Um...I can't remember what the next part is either.
Okay, I will watch that scene later today, and then get back to you on the next line.
![]()
Not a problem. I've got a bit of an advantage since I have the movie on my computer.
"Am I going mad? Or did the word "think" just escape your lips??" The Princess Bride
I know!We need to work on this.
"Yeah, but I didn't think I was actually gonna have to tell my dad about it!"
Definitely!
No way! It's you. We're talking about. . . Oh! When I reached 1000 posts, I posted in here, and offered non-chocolate cake to those who didn't like chocolate and you "didn't know" who I could be referring to. And, we've kept it going (like we usually do).
![]()
Wow, you remembered that?! Yeah, we do usually go on and on until we forget how we started!
Yep! You're the one who first called me that.
Mmhmm, the SM's were really fun, and perhaps my favorite memory.
*grins upon finding the SM* Ahh, the good ol' days!
Yep, I was! Yeah, I really enjoyed those! Glad you found the SM! We used to write it white, remember? And the SMs were partly visible, but white shows up way too much on this tan...
*points Aiden over to MerlinJunkie's channel on YouTube* That person has some episodes of the first season.
They aren't called "Robin Hood" though, they're called "Leather Wonderpants" (I have NO idea why). There might be some other places to find them, but I'm not sure. I'll ask Valia if she knows and then let you know.
![]()
Ahh, I remembered you mentioning his channel, but when I checked I didn't see any Robin Hood episodes. I guess that explains why! Thanks so much, I'll definitely be watching those!
So, do you not listen to any secular music? Or are there certain styles you don't like listening to? Music is one of those things that's a really big influence in my life, which is why I listen to mostly all Christian music (save a little folk and classical). In the end, it's one of those things that's a matter of opinion and wise judgment.
Actually, there's a lot of secular music that's totally fine, like movie soundtracks for example. Unfortunately, a lot of what's considered "Christian" music is even worse than some secular music! And, it's not just a matter of liking or disliking... there are principles involved. Like I said, I'm not an expert on this, so that's about all I can say.
I'm off. Mortereve all!

Good Mortereve all! I hope everyone is well! I'm well- busy, but good. Oh, and I'm loving the spring weather....I can actually see large patches of snow on our front yard. Hurray!
flambeau: Congaratulations on your 1000th post!
FF: we actually ended up not doing it
. We'll probably get around to it tomorrow.
There is a lot of work to do. There have to be about 50-75 good sized branches all over the yard. So it should take us at least a half hour.
Ah, I see. I hope that went well (I presume that you'd have done it by now?
) and that y'all don't get another storm like that this year...
Basically saying all that to say "Ditto".

Well, tis Ditto Town after all.
The only changes for the Olympics that we made was being sure to have the evenings open for when the figure skating was on.
![]()
Is figure skating a sport your family likes, then? I wanted to watch it, but for us it was always on at about 10 pm in the evening during the Olympics, so I always chose to not watch it so I wouldn't miss sleep. Ah well. I suppose it's not really all that big of a thing missing it.
How are things for you?
Really,FF? Wow, that's weird.
Deja vu. I'm glad you and your siblings liked it.
Me and my sisters joke that the grumpy old man is going to be our dad one day.
Minus the part where his wife's dead though.

Indeed! Thanks! Yes, it wasn't one I'd watch again right now, but we did find it funny. But also a little sad as well, in parts.
Yeah, most books I try and recommend to my friends I can just describe as "really good" or "extremely well written" but beyond that I don't get much. It's kind of sad, because it makes good books sound really pathetic.
![]()
Aye, I can understand that! Or sometimes when I'm talking about the things I didn't like about a certain movie or book, I make the negative things sound much worse than it really actually is... >_>
I liked Guy of Gisborne too until he turned good.
I'm glad that they put a bad guy in BBC Robin Hood that actually had character. Like the Sheriff was just typically evil and greedy. He was hilarious, but very straightforwardly evil. Guy was a bit complicated, interestingly complicated. I felt kind of sad for him, especially
I'm doing great! Thanks! And How about you? You having a good day?
I'm doing well, thanks! Life has been pretty good, busy sometimes, but still good.
Yeah, Leafs lost, Fanny.
I with the coach of the Olympic Canadian team was coach of the Leafs. So, I'm curious: what is the team you'll be rooting for if the Leafs don't make it to the playoffs?
Or, and even better, we have all the players for Canada playing for Toronto. That would be fantastic! Alas for that little thing called the salary cap.
I'll be cheering for Pittsburgh (or Anahiem, if they make it), most likely. It's kind of tradition- if the Leafs don't make it, we cheer for the Penguins or the Ducks, and we do not cheer for Montreal, Washington, or Ottawa. We don't cheer for the latter even if the Leafs do make it. So, yes... Oh, and we most likely don't cheer for Detroit either.
Good!
Yes, I understand. As you can tell, we felt the same way, hence finishing the season very quickly!
Yes indeed.
We watched two more episodes last Sunday- Temporarily out of CONTROL and Schwartz's Island. Both were pretty funny.
*peeps in timidly*
Hey,all!
I haven't been here in forever.
Anyone remember me?
So nice to see new faces in the square!
Hello Alona! How are you?
Ah yes, those feelings are absolutely wonderful.
And I do love Spring as well!
It's my favorite season.
And spending time with family is usually enjoyable as well. (And if it's not, it's only because somebody is in a rather unwholesome mood most likely..)
Ditto & ditto! How are you?
We're all doing well, thank you!!
Today the whole family except Dad and my oldest brother (they were working and on a trip) helped a couple from our church move in to a new home, so that was fun and really nice. It's a good feeling to know you helped someone out a lot.
That sounds like it was a fantastic opportunity to serve indeed! I really like the feeling of knowing that I spent my time to help others as well, it gives me such a deep sense of happiness- perhaps even joy- and of fulfillment. Or something like that.
Music is going well, thank you!
I'm really enjoying it I think.
2 competition songs are coming along and being slowly memorized for piano... And in violin I think I'm progressing as well.
Hurray! Good stuff!
How are the competition songs coming along now?
oh, I got to ask for free??
Yay!
You do/did!
I am glad to hear that! You have encouraged me in many ways, and I am happy to return the favor!

Thank you!
Hurray- about being able to fill in!
I hope more opportunities come up!
The song that I heard first was "When You Come Back Down", which has remained as one of my favorites, but some of the other ones I like are "The Hand Song" (it tells a really cute story!), "Sweet Afton" (it was originally a poem), "Seven Wonders", "The Smoothie Song" (it's just instrumental, but it's still neat), "Out of the Woods", "This Side" (it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it's fun
), "The Fox". Most of those have lyrics, but they have quite a few instrumental songs, that are pretty too!
Wow, I hope I didn't overwhelm you with that list.
![]()
Don't worry about it one bit! I like details/long lists because then I know what to listen/do next.
Thanks!
Well! I dare say this post has taken long enough to type up, so... hope y'all are well!
