Mortereve all!

Oh it's going pretty well, all that I have done so far today is spelling I might do some math later on depending if I am lazy or not :p ;))
How was the weather where you are? Was it a winter day or a Spring day?

I see. Are those your only classes? /:)
Oh, it's still winter. In fact, it's snowing again! :D

*sends a hello over to Aiden* How are things with you?

We are actually pretty much where we were last time we talked (or, about two weeks ago) and that means the last episode we watched was Episode 11 (The Farcas Frackas). Because the Olympics were on we sort of all agreed to take a break, but I hope we can resume watching Season 4 this coming Sunday. (Sunday evenings are our Get Smart evenings...)

Quite well, thank you. And I trust you are likewise?

Ah, I see. Well, I still don't have Season 5, so you can take your time getting through 4. ;)

I was messing with your mind?! Try the other way around, buddy.

Oh you claim I was messing with your mind, eh? I was simply testing your mental durability. ;)

Wow, not much posting going on. I'm off. Mortereve all!

Good mortereve to all! :D

the Prince wearing a warm leather jacket and Vern.... well, wearing nothing.

Re Vern: uh, okay. :)) Maybe we should take up a collection for dragon-clothing for Vern? ... *thinks* ... nah, his scales should be sufficient for all types of weather. I do wonder, though, why he keeps insisting on attacking King Lune's slippers ...

Wooot! Niiice about Lady A having her own computer now. Loverly for her; loverly for you. The only one who it affected negatively in any way was the King, who had to put out money for this. ;)) But, being of Royalty, his coffers must be doing okay. ;)

Actually, no, I don't care for figure skating or ice dancing. They kind of bore me. :p I hasten to add that I briefly watched some of Joannie Rochette's routine, as I felt so much for her in the loss of her mom.

PC, when Vern spends time at his fishing hole (glad to hear he found a nice one), does he devour them on-site, or bring some home for the family?

Btw, thanks for answering my wish, PC. ;))

Thanks for your further comments on The Lightning Thief, GtG. I'm glad to hear the book is not like that, and I do wonder how the author feels about this adaption. /:)

I think that Spring is my favorite season because everything is growing and because the air is so fresh!

Spring can be lovely. The only reason I don't care for it is that I know it's heralding summer. :| ;) And even though I've told you already, I'll say it here in case anyone else is wondering. Anyone may call me Jo or jo for a nickname. I think most do already, and that's just dandy. :D

Yes, NN/Aiden, I take your side on the environmental issue.

*states again that she does not care for 3-D movies* I feel too inhibited with those glasses on. Rather than making me feel more a part of the film, as is 3-D's intent, they make me feel distanced.

Lady A! Wonderful to see you here! But what? You didn't fall into the fountain this time? Aha, I see, you changed narrators. Gotcha. Boy, that Vern is sneaky.

Thanks for pruning and trimming up the Chocolate Tree. I see it is now producing its yummy 'fruit' more bountifully than ever, hurrah! *snips some Mini Egg clusters off a few branches and gobbles them down, hardly saving any for later because they're just ... toooo good! :D

But I did so enjoy that hockey game on Sunday night!) And that's all I'll say on the matter as I wouldn't want to rub it in.

Okay, I'll rub it in then. :)) j/k Yep, 'twas an amazingly exciting, solid game of hockey for both teams!

;)) at Lark's dissecting enthusiasm. I'm right with you there. Do keep us posted. Do you dissect in partners, or on your own. I remember we worked in pairs, so as to discuss our findings. That was interesting 'cause not everyone felt about dissecting the way you and I do. :p

It's actually because of Tolkien that I become so interested in etymology. I would read the tranlations at the end of The Sil trying to make up my names. I've actually considered making a career out of philology, and I think I'd love it

So cool! I think, with your passion, you'd progress very well in the philological area! Are you nearly finished high school? In other words, will you have to be considering this decision fairly soon?

Well, it's rather a spring-like day here, and our winter has been pitiful. Hardly a winter at all. *weeps* (So glad you're getting snow today, NN!) I'm still hoping for some good snowstorms in March yet. Our snow season isn't officially over until near the end of April, I believe.

EDIT 1: Methinks my post just may be the last on this page.

EDIT 2: Yep, I was right. *waves to Queen Susan who has the first post on the next page* :p

I don't know if I'd envy the Southern weather at the moment, unless you are referring to the lack of snow.

Well, that's what I envy. ;)) The sun is melting a lot of the snow over here though!! :D

Lol, most Chinese food in America is Americanized. Very Americanized.

Yeah! Haha. Our Pastor's been to China a few times, and what I've heard about the food... doesn't sound too appetizing. :p

How are you Queen Susan? :) Did you get to watch any of the Olympics?

Great! Thank you! Yes, we watched the Olympics 2-3 times actually. :) It was pretty interesting, and they were enjoyable.
How've you been lately? What've you been keeping busy with? :) For me it's been mostly school and music things. :)

So, how's life?

Going well! Things have been good. :) Today I have violin lessons... In less then a week I have a dentist appointment. ;)) *laugh* Life is exciting. ;) How are you? :)

I think that's about it... I need to start school, it's 10:00. AM. :p

Good mortereve all! It is lovely lovely spring weather here, and I'm loving it! :) I even have my window open a little.... *happy sigh*

I hope y'all are well! :) :)

Quite well, thank you. And I trust you are likewise?

Ah, I see. Well, I still don't have Season 5, so you can take your time getting through 4. ;)

Same here, thanks! :) :)

*stifles a hurrah* ;)) I trust that once we get back into Season 4 we won't be wanting to take our time, there is something about that show that makes us want to watch it all rather quickly, I do believe. :)

Okay, I'll rub it in then. :)) j/k Yep, 'twas an amazingly exciting, solid game of hockey for both teams!

Ha ha! Well, I am sure that you, being a very wise person, know what's best, so I'll let you to it if you want. ;) Aye, twas a good game indeed! And we're back to NHL hockey now, and the Leafs lost 5-1 in their first game back. :( Ah well. As much as I want them to make the playoffs, I know what team I'll be cheering for if the Leafs don't, but I wonder what would happen if that team doesn't make it. Hmm. /:) Ah well. ;)

Great! Thank you! Yes, we watched the Olympics 2-3 times actually. :) It was pretty interesting, and they were enjoyable.

Hurray! :) Yes, they were enjoyable, especially since I was able to build my relationship with my younger brothers- they wanted to watch the Olympics, whatever sport was on, and so one of us older kids had to be there to make sure it was suitable and such, so I was able to spend lots of time with them. And who says television can't be good? ;))

How've you been lately? What've you been keeping busy with? :) For me it's been mostly school and music things. :)

I have been really really good, thanks! :) I'm so happy today (for some reason). I think it's the spring weather, which I really do love, and the sunshine actually feeling warm, and being able to spend time with my family getting to know God more and plans for the future, which I do believe God has given me another inkling of today, sooo yeah! :D And how are you and your family?

How is the music going for you? I've been doing quite a bit of reading and just other normal stuff, but I don't mind a bit. :) :)

Well, I should be off. It's high time I ate lunch... :) Cheers everyone!

Mortereve!

Some quick catch up and then I have to do more school. Yesterday we went to a friend's play/musical. It was the Pirates of Penzance, rather funny :) . I'm in a good mood b/c a CD I ordered came in the mail today, way earlier than it was supposed to, so I be happy :p :D

*waves to Glenstorm* I heard (or rather, to be correct, read) that you were out of power for some time, I'm glad that you all survived- is everything back to normal now? On the news the other day I heard about some storms/high winds down your way and I thought of you, I hope everything will get back to normal soon if it hasn't already!

Yep, we have everything back, including internet (obviously :p ) and cable :D . Yeah there were alot of high winds, today we're gonna have to clear the yard and driveway of all the fallen branches and sticks, and a few big limbs...

Lark: Oh MY GOSH :-o !!!! He wrote it!?!?! How could he ruin his own books! Does he not realize most fans of his books will hate that movie!!! I can't believe that!

Yes I take piano, it went well. I actually got an extra 15 minutes in class b/c my teacher was trying to help me figure out the chords in the bridge of a song. We took 45 minutes and we still couldn't figure out the whole thing :p . Matty T writes complicated music sometimes :p

A "v" does sound kinda like a "b" in Spanish, right?
Estaba pensando que formal es mejor, pero usaba el informal también. Aw, lo siento. Tuvimos mucho lluvia pasada semana, pero no bastante hacer la electricidad estar fuera.

Yeah it does :p . En este momento nieve y lluvia se caen. Es muy triste fuera, no soleado del todo.

Ben: Summer is my favorite season, but I still love Spring just b/c it means Winter is finally over :p :) .

The version with Gwenyth Paltrow is my least favorite. It's ok. Oh yeah that smile does not um look good :p . It is a really good version though, my favorite :D .

johobbit: yeah well Lark just told me that the author wrote the script! I couldn't be more shocked, it was horrible! :-o I don't know how he could ruin his own books like that!

@jo: I disected on my own because I'm homeschooled. :) My 13-year old younger sister was horrified, and refused to watch. But my other two sisters(aged 7 and 5) were fasicated by it. ;)) In fact, they named the eyeball "Ike the Eyeball." ;))
I'm currently 15 and a high school sophmore(10th grade) so I'll graduate in the spring of 2012. I'm still not sure where I'll go to college and where I do want to go is a little pricey... :(

@Ali: Which song were you woking on? :)
I want some RK and SF and Phantom of the Opera piano books so bad! :( Oh,yeah, and I want "Der Erlkonig"(The Erl-king) by Schubert too. :P

I want RKs songbooks too! I actually only have two songbooks, everything I play I usually do by ear or print out chords online :p . I'm cheap ;)
Yep, well except for like the last 4-5 tracks. I like it alot so far, though most of the stuff I've heard so far is not as good as some of his earlier songs. But I still like it :)

Congrats flam ! I remember how excited I was when I got to 1000 posts :D

Well, I'm feeling much better today! I'm still really tired, but after draining me of all my energy, it seems that my cold has finally decided to leave. :) Thanks everyone to all your prayers and concerns! :)

And now...it seems I have some catch up to do!! :D

🙁 Sorry about that... Me and my family did not go to church either because we all had colds *blows his nose* ;)) I'm sure your days will brighten up!

Aw, I'm sorry you all had colds!! I hope you're getting better. Thanks, by the way! My day did brighten up! I was really tired today, but it was nice to feel a little more energetic and get out and enjoy the sunshine for a change! :) How are you? Like I said, I hope you're getting over the cold.

My mom made chicken soup for dinner tonight. And she bought some extra kleenexes today, if you'd like some. ;) :P

*waves to Glenstorm the Great* How are you doing?

@Dani: Thanks! :)
I never thought them signing it like that. ;)) That would be pretty awesome.
No way! That's so cool! When's your b-day? (if it's not cool with your parents putting it on the net,I totally understand. :) )

I know I would love to go see Tenth Avenue North in concert on my birthday. :) How about I PM you? :)

So we agree. That wasn't much of a debate. But it was fun to write down my thoughts, as I'm sure you'll agree. :)
I kinda wandered from the specific topic you mentioned and said something about energy. Do you think we should use the oil we have instead of trying to come up with substitutes that are no good like solar and wind?

I hope this isn't too political or whatever to be discussing, but we not exactly arguing, so... I'm sure it's fine.

Hey, I think this is a really good topic! It's one that I've definitely been thinking about recently. It would be really awesome if researchers could come up with a better alternative to oil usage, but there really isn't an alternative and the so called "alternatives" that they've come up with, such as solar and wind, don't provide the amount of energy necessary.

Environmentalists say that we're using up the world's oil supply. Do you think that they're exaggerating a little? I haven't done any extensive research on the subject, but to me it seems that they're exaggerating on how critical the amount of oil we have left is. What do you think?

Yeah, NWeb makes sick days a lot of fun. I'm typically not so sick that I can't fall asleep. In fact, I usually tireder and usually fall asleep quite fast. Anyway, I was just thinking last night that I haven't been really sick in a while and I'm about due... :-s ;))

Any other illness, such as the flu, and I fall asleep just fine! But with the cold, I'm so congested I can't stop sneezing or coughing. I'm sooo tired today though, I'm sure I'm going to fall right to sleep tonight. :)

Aaw, jo! Thanks for the soup and extra kleenexes (best kind)!! :)

Oh no, they were made for the entire family to enjoy. I mainly made so many for one particular family member..... *gestures over to a certain dragon*

That reminds me, my family hasn't made pizza in a long time. I see, it seems your dragon has quite the appetite. But then again, considering how much my brothers can eat, I shouldn't be surprised that a dragon could eat as much or more... :)

*waves to Lady Amalthea* Vern sounds like he's been up to a lot of mischief lately...

Ahh, I see. :) Have you been able to get some more time for reading? *hopes so* Is Heart of Darkness a book you enjoyed, or no? What type of book was it? :)

Hmm...let's see...it was a very short, but very intriguing book. It's the type of book you read for literature class, not for enjoyment. It has a really depressing ending and is a bit confusing at times. I know that sounds very vague, but I can't explain it any other way without giving away the entire book... :P

I think I know what you mean. ;)) For the most part I too enjoy the "bad guys" that are not only complex but also show glimmers of possible goodness in them, the ones that want something better and purer but struggle with the choices that they've made in the past that put them in the bad spot, hence they are the bad guys, or antagonists. Even if in the end they remain trapped in their ways, or choose the bad path and are not redeemed in the end, I still like them for the most part. Although, there are some villains who are truly really bad, I can't like those, struggles or no. I guess it all depends on what the characters do in their badness. Or something like that. ;)) I guess I'm just the type of person who does really feel sorry when the bad person dies without changing for good because it's just...sad. Anyways. ;))

That's exactly the way it is with me!! I'm always hoping that the evil character will some how find redemption. It's always sad when they don't, but in some books/movies the bad guy does somehow redeem himself in the end and I really love those stories. It's just something about that tragic story with somewhat of a happy ending that catches me... [/ramble] :P

That's ok. Oh, did you hear what you missed in creative writing? I think you should do the assignment, it's turning out to be totally fun! :)

Yeah, thanks for filling me in on all the details!! I think I'm going to give a shot at this one after finishing up the revision of our UQ story and then all the Rhetoric assignments that I'm behind on thanks to this cold...

Ooo! We could work on the CW assignment after class one afternoon! That would be fun. :)

Yeah! Haha. Our Pastor's been to China a few times, and what I've heard about the food... doesn't sound too appetizing. :p

Haha! I've seen pictures of the food in China taken by missionaries or friends who have visited and it doesn't look very good. Most of it is whole cooked sea creatures, like fish, or sea horses, or big bugs. Lol

*listens to "City On Our Knees" by tobyMac*

I love that song!! :D

EDIT: *waves to flambeau* Congrats on having 10000 posts!!! You're 500 ahead of me. :) "Hallelujah" is one of my favorite songs by Tenth Avenue North. It's so beautiful. :) Anyway, how are you?

And now I must be off! Time to complete some home work, finish cleaning up my new room, and then off to bed!!! :D

God bless!!

Ooo! Queen Susan I didn't know you played violin! I've only just started (about 3 years ago). It's was one of my bucket list items and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
What pieces are you playing right now?

@Lark
I loved dissecting eyeballs. I still "dissect" the heart at Thanksgiving, much to the amusement of my mother and annoyance of my younger sister. Of course, I'm in my 20s so perhaps it's a little more odd a thing for me to do.

@Ali: Ooh,really? I looove Poison Ivy! :D I've heard of the CD,but unfortunately I don't own it. It's the only solo-Matt T. CD I know about. Man,I really wish I could play by ear,but I can't. :( Grrr. :P
So watcha been up to lately? :)

@Dani: Sure you can PM me. :) Aahhh! You've got a quote from "Vanilla Twilight" in your sig. :D :D Sorry for my over-enthusiasm. ;)) I love Owl City. My favorites are "Cave In", "The Technicolor Phase", "The Saltwater Room", "Dental Care", "Meteor Shower", "Fireflies"(I know it's the uber-popular one,but I still like it), "On The Wing", and "Captians and Cruise Ships." I actually love pretty much all of the,but I didn't want to bore you with my long list. ;))
How's school going for you? :)
New room? Did you trade with someone,or did you move into a new house?

@Earel Alquawen:Well,I didn't actually disect the eyeball itself,I just disected it from the pig. The heart of the turkey? Oh,wow. ;)) I can see myself doing something like that ten years from now. ;))

Lark: I haven't seen UP, though I really want to. It's on our Netflix Queue :D .

I know Poison Ivy is soooo beautiful, even though I'm not a huge fan of break up songs, Matty T writes beautiful music :p . I don't own it either, but I really want to buy it. It has songs from Dave Douglas' and Ethan Luck's other bands too :D . Too bad you can't. Is it something that comes naturally? I was happy with myself today b/c I played This Is the End (If You Want It) by ear and then played it in a different key all by myself. My piano teacher was very proud of me ;) . Harmony comes to me very easily. So easily, sometimes I have a hard time singing melody b/c I can hear different harmonies in my head :p .

Not much besides playing piano and listening to TRS :p . How bout you? :)

I love Owl City too :D . Everyone says his songs all sound the same but they don't if you pay attention. It's like that with all music.

*waves back*

That is so odd that you should have just posted that, for two of my siblings and I just finished watching that for the first time this evening! :) We enjoyed for the most part, I believe, although it was sad. But it was more a melancholy sadness, I think, and I like that sometimes. :)

Yep, we have everything back, including internet (obviously :p ) and cable :D . Yeah there were alot of high winds, today we're gonna have to clear the yard and driveway of all the fallen branches and sticks, and a few big limbs...

I'm glad to hear that! :) How did the clean up go? Is there much to do?

Hmm...let's see...it was a very short, but very intriguing book. It's the type of book you read for literature class, not for enjoyment. It has a really depressing ending and is a bit confusing at times. I know that sounds very vague, but I can't explain it any other way without giving away the entire book... :P

Ah, okay! Do not worry about the vague description at all, I've encountered books just like that, well, in the hard to describe part. And what's hard is that some of them have been books that I've enjoyed, so I naturally want to tell someone else about them, but they would just have to be complex, so I have no clue where exactly begin in describing it, and as an added bonus they've been like Heart of Darkness, very hard to properly share about without giving away the entire thing... *shakes head* Yeah.

Oh, you too? Hurray! :) It is truly always nice to meet another person who also feels that way- it's hard for others who don't think that way to understand it, I think, and so when I tell others that I liked a certain bad guy (for instance, I liked Guy of Gisborne from the BBC Robin Hood, bad-ness and all, not because I was a fan gurl, but because of his internal emotional struggle between doing right and wrong) or was sad when he/she died, they've probably thought I was slightly, different, or something. And maybe I am. ;)) I think if I could, and if it wouldn't get too already been done-ish and overused, I'd have all the bad guys chose the good side right at the end of the story, change before it's too late, so that they can realize they were wrong but also mend their ways. :) Or something like that. ;)

Well...I must be off. I hope y'all have a good evening! Cheers!
