(answering Ben :p ) (-| I'm doing fine besides the fact that I am just utterly tired. And have a headache. I had a loooong day today. Our church is almost two hours away. So we went to church, stayed til two, then went another hour and a half away from our house to go to Ikea. There I got a headache from all the smelly candles :| . And then we drove back home. So now I have a headache and I'm exhausted... (-| . Yeah, I might be going to bed soon, though I want to hopefully watch another episode of Wives and Daughters tonight :p .

;)) .....I was really tired but I took a REALLY LONG Nap, (which I usually don't do) So now I'm not tired anymore :D
Wow Almost two hours to your church! That is crazy! It is about 20 minutes to our church and I thought that was a ways to drive!

again, lucky! I saw some friends today that just got back from a cruise in Mexico . Why is everyone going to FL but me?!?! :(( ;)

Anyway, TTFN :)

Oh I want to go on a Cruise!
I'm not sure :D When you do go where is it that you go to?

Well I'm off!

yeah it's a long drive but it's a really good church and we're friends with everyone down there. We don't move closer though b/c it's in MA :p . I would have taken a nap too but my sister wouldn't let me sleep (she's 4 and we sit in the backseat...yeah and she likes me to play with her and look at everything that passes by on the highway 8-| ;) . But I love her anyway :D )...

I want to go on a cruise too :p . Wanted to for ages but have never been...*sigh* I love the ocean :D . We usually go to Miami. All our hispanic side of the familiy lives within a few miles of each other, all in Miami. Except some of the fam lives in Nicaragua still. I've only been there once, I had my 7th birthday there :D . But yeah, so I want to go. ...But I won't whine anymore, hopefully the snow will melt soon and...it will be nice and muddy out :( ;)

off to the Games and Blogs section :D :p

Yeah muddy wouldn't be exactly nice, but a little better than snowy...just b/c it's a sure sign that Spring is coming :p

*waves to GtG and Ben* :)

Well, Mel, that's a very lovely particular house. :D

Anyway, note that I had a dream about you the other day

;)) Wanna PM me the details ... or tell all in the Square: that's fine with me too.

Ruby, that's so cool you're teaching dancing. :) I think you'd be a fun, conscientious teacher. And MmMmMmmm, those strawberries look delectable. :D

'Tis lovely your sister can stay with your grandmother for a while. Is it quite a long drive from your place. Meaning, can you still see your sister fairly often? Hope so.

Kingskid!!! :D/ So grand to see you. Sorry I wasn't on that evening you were. I'm really glad you still have that good ol' turkey leg in your avvy. :D

*freaks out (for Kk's sake) at seeing Ata here as well* Sounds like you're busy at the fire station. That job seems right up your alley, so to speak. You just look so at home in any pictures I've seen. I'm really happy for you.

*waves cheerily to PrinceCor, Vern, and Narnia Girl* I found some yummy treats for each one of you, according to your tastes. Get a load of these:

~for the Prince, a guitar cake
~for Vern, some crunchy cockroaches (I do hope you find these tasty)
~for Narnia Girl, a special picnic that I think you'd enjoy.
:D

Djaq, great to see you back. (Hey, that rhymes!) So cool about you taking mandolin lessons with flambeau and your brother. I gather you're enjoying them? Now, that is quite the ketchup post!

@ Ben and GtG: I've never had a desire to go on a cruise *isn't a fan of overly warm places* but I do long to go New Zealand ... some day.

Anyway, reading time for me, then ... bed. Sozy clippers, dear SquareOnions!

jo: I would LOVE to go to NZ. I wanted to go since before LWW first came out :D . I can't believe you wouldn't want to go on a cruise! I love being warm. I was born to live in a place like FL! I don't feel the heat, and get cold very easily. But alas, I'm forced to live in the artic :(( ;) :p

Mortereve all!

Been watching the Olympics lately. It's a shame Apolo Ohno didn't win gold. But, to his credit, after he slipped and fell into last place, he still came back and beat both Canadians for the bronze. I'd be embarrassed to be those Canadians skaters.

:p Hm. I had that when I used "Safari" as a browser... Now I use Firefox a lot more, and it doesn't really happen. :)

I've always used Firefox, but the forum's only been kicking me off lately. Oh well, I've got Lazarus!

NN95: yeah I pretty much hate snow, but I love NE during the Summer and Fall, it's really pretty up here. We have a ton of mountains, most with snow still on them even in August or July :D . It looks beautiful from a distance ;)

Oh well. Yes, I especially love fall! NE has one of the best falls of any place. We don't have many mountains around where I live, but I've been to some of NH's mountains and they are very beautiful.

I don't have to watch her cook to taste all the hot pepper she puts in our food!! I'm not a spicy-food person...unfortunately, my entire family is. *sigh*

I'm not a spicy-food person, either, so I can sympathize.

I suppose a truce will have to do. Rats!! You just stole my only consolation!! ;) :P

Yes, well, you've got the whole world on your side of the argument. The least you could do is let me have the consolation, here!

Hmm...that argument sounds like it could either very messy or very boring. It would get messy if we had completely different views of truth (which I doubt), but it would get boring if we already agreed on the subject... :P

I don't understand exactly what you mean by messy. As far as if we agreed, it would be rather boring.

*waves to Kk and Ata* It's been forever since you two have been around!

@ NN. Most welcomed, my friend! :)

They are usually considered in the "greatest scores ever", but I disagree. Maybe I'm a little too opinionated sometimes.... ;))

From what I understand, most of the soundtrack releases by the big name companies are pressed before the entire score is recorded most of the time. :( Thankfully, we have labels like Intrada, Varase Sarabande and Film Score Monthly that specialize in film scores and treat the music with the respect it deserves. :)

Eh, here I must disagree. If you have a good quality LP and a turntable that is in good condition, LP's have a more richer, fuller sound than CD's. MP3's are even lower quality. :| Sorry for disagreeing with you here... Let's just agree to disagree, O.K? *really does not want to get into a debate about this* :p

Well, I would disagree, too, so I'm glad I'm not alone.

What do you mean the soundtracks are pressed? :-s

No, no, don't apologize for disagreeing with me. In fact, thank you for setting me straight on that. I'm only showing my ignorance every time I try to say something like I know what I'm talking about. ;)) I won't disagree with you on this. But, would some people contest that CDs are better? Is that something like the film vs. digital video debate?

NN95, that's true. Ian was just so much better for the bad guy.
Do you have any least favorite scenes? :p

Yep, definitely.
Um, well, the Oval Office scene in the second. But none in the first.

Very true, although, and I'm sure you'll agree, that there are sometimes some things that just aren't worth it. (Just thought I'd add that in so others who may read this would know we're not talking about the really bad films and other such things) But for what we were talking about, and that being a "smaller" theme such as the ends justifying the means, I think it's a great opportunity, and I've enjoyed the conversations and even some more deeper discussions that I've had with my family in consequence of viewing some films. :)

Oh yeah, there's a limit as to what's ok to watch. I mean, the movie should still be acceptable to see. But, yeah, it's a good idea, and a good conversation-starter.

How far are you through Get Smart, now?

Yay, Djaq's back!

Yes! You are wise beyond your years. ;) Yeah, we do, don't we? :P ;))

Just very perceptive! Or it was a lucky guess... ;)) Indeed you do!

Sure! That's a scene with a considerable amount of dialogue, so it's a good choice. :) Do you want us to start at the very beginning with Riley's line? "Bacon."

Why, thank you!
"Keep going."

"You keep changing the subject!" Come What May. Yours was another one that is rather general. ;))
I'm glad to hear it! :D

"Then let's have it out right here!" NT2. Exactly. ;))
:)

*hangs head in shame*

It's not your fault. Although... when you post it's like catching up on about 5 posts. :P

To whom else would I be referring? ;)

It can't be I!

That's a great word! :P ;))

Thank you! ;))

Adiós (sorry, I'm half Nicaraguan and thus a stickler for Spanish spelling and pronounciation ;) )

Same here, except I'm not half Nicaraguan. So, you speak Spanish, I'm assuming? ¿Cómo está?
And, BTW, being a stickler for English spelling, too, so "pronounciation" isn't a word. It's actually "pronunciation". :)

~for Vern, some crunchy cockroaches (I do hope you find these tasty)

I dunno *shrugs* cruises just seem so extravagant for my simpler hobbit tastes. A number of friends have gone on them and they come back saying that the opulence is overwhelming and the profusion of luxury, extreme. I'd rather go to a quiet place in the mountains or by the ocean. ;;)

I'm exactly opposite. In fact, I'd like to visit the arctic someday!

Ditto and double-ditto, NN. ;))

Yes, I especially love fall!

It is a glorious season, to be sure: the vibrant colours of the leaves, the scent of woodsmoke almost wherever one goes; hikes through the crunching leaves; the crisp autumn air ... ♥

As for New Zealand, I remember having a passion for that country when I was just a wee lass, and that was rather a loooooong time ago. ;) The LotR and Narnia films only accentuated that.

Well, we're at the start of a mini snowstorm (10cm/4"). :D/ It's coming down lightly now, but very steadily, and the snow is supposed to get heavier this afternoon. Woooohooo!

Hello all! *Waves*

Uh, it really was.
(You so can't!)

Seeing as we're both equally stubborn, shall we agree to diasagree, like mature peoples?

Winter, do tell MeadowMaid how much we miss her on the Square. And I haven't forgotten I "owe" her a PM. :)

Ok, she says hi back! But she didn't listne to me when I said she should come back... :( Speaking of PMs...You still owe me a PM from like, 2008 or something. ;))

@Winter: Ah,ok. Are the same characters in it? :- I never understood shows like that with the same name, but a different city. ;))

No, it's different characters. They're called "spin-off shows" or just plain "spin-offs" The idea is they intraduce characters from the same agency, or whatever, that work/live elsewhere. If the fans like these characters they create a whole new show about the characters. They sometimes meet up, like in season finales, or extremely climactic episodes. Did that make sense? (It's ok to say no, I'm not usually a very helpful person )

*Waves to WinterStar!* :D

*waves back!* How are you? :)

@ Winter. Actually, I had the attention span of 5.06 minutes, for your information. ;) :p
Yeah, I didn't understand that. The ones that fell got higher scores.... :-

Oh, bravo! You were very mature for your age! As a point of interest, has your attention span increased since then? ;)
Well, to be honest, if you look at the countries they were from it's no surprise. Russia almost always get scored higher than they should, and the host country does to. (I don't mean to sound rude, or insult any one, but that's how I've percieved it.)

Winter, have you been playing the piano for a long time? :)

No, not at all. In fact I've only had two lessons. :)

I find that that statement is usually true. ;))

*Sigh* It is tragic, isn't it?

I think that I do know it. I didn't hear it first from Valia though. . . I don't really remember where I saw it. :(

Really, that's weird? I can't imagine where you might have seen it. Unless, another mod mentioned it? Or Ruby said it accidently? Or you used to process of elimination based on a comment I made in the names thread? (I highly doubt the last one, I merely mentioned it was in someone's list, but misspelled.)

See y'all!

*enters the square, still sore from this past weekend*

I've had quite an exciting weekend!! All day Saturday I spent on my feet (fun, but not fun). In the morning I was at the YMCA, all afternoon I was at a little girl's birthday party, and then I went bowling with some friends and didn't get home until late at night. I was going to work on home work after that, but I was so tired. And all day Sunday I was incredibly sore, like more sore than I've been in months. And today I'm still store. I feel so out of shape. :P

Anywho....time for some catch-up!!! :D

Ruby: I read the book before the movie, but you don't necessarily have to, it's extremely close to the book :) .

That's good to know!! I'll have to ask my mom to rent it sometime. :) I bet she'd enjoy it too..

No he's sadly not married. He was supposed to be married last August but his fiance broke up with him late '07. She's the one he wrote that song about, that's why it's sad for me to listen to it :(( . His new album is mostly about that breakup :(

Oh! My sister was telling me about that! I guess I just wasn't paying attention. :P It is really sad, especially since they've been together for so long. But I guess that's the way things work. :(

And I'm glad to be in it I'm doing great! a little tired but still doing great :) How about you?

That's good to hear! I'm still recovering from this past weekend. Friday dance lessons, work out at the YMCA Saturday morning, and then I was at a birthday party all afternoon and with my friends at the bowling alley Saturday night. I'm still extremely sore and I don't really know why...probably because I'm not used to being on my legs all day like that. :P

It's been a while since I posted on the square. *guilty*How have you been doing?? Anything exciting happen in your life lately?

*waves to PrinceCor and Vern*

Ruby, it was actually a tiny bit warmer outside yesterday - in the mid-forties, I think - which isn't that warm, but it's warmer than the weather we've had recently. Some of our snow is finally beginning to melt! We probably have around 20 inches now, at a random guess.
Well, five years is still a lot for taking Irish Step! :p I took ballet for five years, too, I believe. I also did lyrical one year and tap for a year too.

Well that's good that the weather's getting warmer. Is it still getting warmer? I hope it is. Because the weather here has decided to turn freezing again. :( We got sleet yesterday and rain and today it's just plain freezing, gray, and dreary. Again. How are the roads with all that snow? I imagine that it's plowed already and safe to drive on?

I always wanted to do ballet as a kid, but never did. Tap sounds exciting! I really, really still want to do tap. It looks like so much fun! I'm not sure if I would be that good at it. I've never really done any kind of dance with that style. I don't know though. It's worth a try, I suppose. :)

How is the book going for you? :) Have you finished it? I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but I'm reading a Dickens at present as well, Dombey and Son it is. :) It's been pretty good, I think, quite a few complex characters, which I really like. :)

It's going rather slowly. I'm still on like the sixth chapter. I just (sadly) haven't had that much time for reading. And I have to finish reading this one book called Heart of Darkness for Rhetoric Class. *sigh*

Hmm..I don't believe that I've ever heard of that Dickens book before. I'm sure my sisters have. :P Oooh! Complex characters are always fun, especially when they're evil. There's something very interesting about evil complex characters (not typically complex though, I hate typically complex evil characters, if you know what I mean :P ).

*waves to Queen Susan*

Dani! How have you been lately? I see that JotM is moving out, I will be praying for your family! That is not an easy thing to go through!

I've been pretty good! A bit tired lately (need to get to bed earlier). How about you?
Thank you so much for your prayers! My sister was supposed to leave Sunday, but due to bad weather, she's leaving tomorrow instead.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that you are near swamped in homework! :(
That's great that you're learning violin and viola! Those are both such beautiful instruments!

Yeah, I'm hoping things will settle down a little soon. Though I fear my hopes are in vain, because in Rhetoric class we have a final oral presentation coming up and I have a historical speech I have to memorize (I don't even know what speech I want to do yet! Any suggestions? It has to be four minutes long, at least). How about you? How's school going?

Ditto! :) Adam Young's music is very happy and optimistic sounding!

The song "Dental Care" makes me laugh!! :D

I'm not a spicy-food person, either, so I can sympathize.

It's good to know I can sympathize with you as well, especially since I can't when it comes to chocolate. :P

I don't understand exactly what you mean by messy. As far as if we agreed, it would be rather boring.

Messy as in, never-ending, loud, fiery, etc...believe me I've been in plenty of messy philosophical debates before. :P ;)

*waves to johobbit*

I guess that's all for now!!! I must be off, seeing it's about time to hand over the computer to my sista and go work on some home work. :)

God bless, everyone!!

*dances into the Square humming "Through the Valley" by the Isaacs* Hello, all! Not much is going on. We got a couple drops of rain today (no snow...yes!!) but it only lasted for a few minutes. Tomorrow is my sister's 11th birthday. We're spending the day shopping with some friends.

FF, yes, spending time with friends is so fun! :D It also worked out as a perfect time for us to catch up on what's going on, since my family had been sick and we hadn't seen each other in a while. :)
Not much going on for me either. I've watched some of the Olympics, and besides schoolwork, I've spent lots of time working on a story I'm writing. Other than that, not much. :)

Benjamin, I've been doing pretty well. :) Hey, do you happen to know when the next Ranger's Apprentice book comes out? :-

*waves back to GtG* Oh, I like how you end your posts with TTFN. :D I used to say that all the time - still do, sometimes. :p

*gasps* Djaq has returned! Ahh...you helped out with your sister's kids and...hula-hooped? :p Interesting.
Haha, yeah, my sister and I chat together sometimes in the chatroom too. ;))

Johobbit, lol thanks for that picnic! ;) :D Perfect for a southern gospel fanatic like me! ;)
...and crunchy cockroaches for Vern? *covers mouth with a hand* That picture is pretty nasty! ;))

NN95, oh, you didn't really like the Oval Office scene? I guess I thought it was okay. *thinks of any scenes she might dislike* Hmm, I can't really think of any at the moment. I pretty much adore all of NT1 and 2. :p

Winter, ah, I see. So how are you liking playing the piano so far? :)

Ruby, the weather here is in the mid and upper forties. So, yeah, it's getting a bit warmer, which I'm happy about. :D Aw, sleet and rain? No fun. :( Yup, the roads are all cleared of snow and ice now, thankfully.
Tap was lots of fun! I only took it for one year when I was 7, but I really enjoyed it. The different moves were pretty cool.
Btw, love your new sig! :D

Okay, all done. Sissy's practically yanking me off the computer...she wants to get on Webkinz...so mortereve all!
