*Cor and Vern enter the Square, trying to stay warm on this cold, dark winters night....*

"... I can't fight this feeling anymore/I forgotten what I started fighting for/It's time to bring this ship into the shore and throw away the oars forever...."

*Umm, Cor, what are you doing?? /:) *

Hmm? Oh, sorry Vern. I was singing the bridge from "Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore" by REO Speedwagon.

*Why?*

Well, it's Valentines Day and it's a cold night and.... well, I don't know. Don't ask.... :p

*Very well....*

Mortereve all! Tonight Lady A and I are watching the winter Olympics. :D More precisely, the figure skating. :) So far, it's been a great evening.

Also in Royal news: Archenland is suppose to be getting 2-4 inches of snow tonight. Not sure how I feels about this at present..... Depends on if the power goes out or not. :|

Alright, time for catching-up:

-----------------------------------

@ Ali. Very well, I'll just have to find a copy of the DVD to watch now. :p

I watched the beginning of NT2 and found it to be a little too "sequel-like" for my tastes, but I still plan on watching this coming week. :)

@ Anna. *Cor and Vern return the friendly wave* Thanks! We enjoyed it greatly! :D Had a couple of snowball fight. A certain dragon kept winning though, making snowballs the size of a car..... 8-| :-s :p

*You never said there was a size limit!*

@ Ruby. Well, no matter. :) Yeah, math is the subject I really dislike. All the others are O.K, some better than others but mostly O.K.

@ Lucy. I think we had about 2 1/2 inches when it was all over. :D And now it's suppose to snow again over night....

@ Pels. Let me see.... when Ben and Abigal (SP?) are blowing on the Declaration, several lines/scenes with the two of them, the first action scene in the movie

Spoiler
when Ben throws the flare at Ian's right-hand-man.

Not a ton of scenes, but enough to make you go "ehh, that was cheesy." :p

@ Poggy. Thanks! It was fun being in the chatroom, hopefully a place I'll be frequenting more often. :)

@ Lark. Wow.... you just named several of the groups I like. :x Among those you listed I like: Journey, Foreigner, Billy Joel, Huey Lewis and the News, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles and the latest group I've discovered.... Supertramp. :) Cool!! *about the drumstick*

Thanks! I think we got about 2 1/2 inches when it was over. :)

------------------------------------

Oh yeah...... HAPPY VALENTINES DAY To All!!!!!! :D *Cor and Vern proceed to hand-out chocolate hearts made by the Bulgy Bears*

Well, we better the back to the castle. Goodnight all and I hope everyone has a pleasant Monday, even if it is a Monday! ;)

*Cor and Vern race each other back to the castle with the theme from Star Trek II playing in the background*

*skips into the Square listening to "He Didn't Come Down" by Ernie Haase & Signature Sound* Hello, all! Happy belated Valentine's Day. :p We had a nice time yesterday. We met some friends at a restaurant for lunch after church. Yesterday afternoon I started working on reading The Vanishing Sculptor by Donita K. Paul. It's really good so far.

Pebbles: Yeah, I remember that. I was relieved that the little dog turned around from the car too. It scared me for a moment! :p
And, happy birthday! :D I always used to wish I had a birthday on Valentine's Day. ;)) How'd your special day go?

Ruby, yes, we still have around 30 inches. I guess a couple inches have melted by now. But we're supposed to get more snow - a few inches - this afternoon. As if we didn't already have enough! 8-|
Oh, you teach Irish Dance? :D I always wanted to take Irish Dance lessons.

Poggy, not much exciting is going on. Yup, I'm busy with school - studying for quizzes and tests, etc. I cannot wait for spring to come. It's so cold outside.

Lark, no problem! :) Take your time. I'm sure your story will be real good. :D

PrinceCor, ooh, that's good about the snow! :D Is it very cold where you're at too?

I guess that's it! *departs humming "If That Don't Make You Wanna Go" by the Isaacs*

Hello all! *Waves*

Hard to guess, of course.
(Sorry, no.)

Ah, well, it wasn't. Sorry.
(Yes, I can.)

:)
Quite modestly proud. :P

There's no finer way to put it! You should be modestly proud of yourself!

@ Winter. Umm, I suppose. I actually don't remember much of when I was younger (like really young). That's fine. Really, it is. :)

lol, ok. I don't remember all that much about when I was in pre-school, either. :)

Winter, I know how that can be! I always have to beg my mom to let me stop by the library.

lol, kinda like my little sister. Unfortunately, they always got to the library while I'm in class...*sighs*

WinterStar, your sister is a mod? Who's your sister? :D

I have two sisters on NWeb, but only one's a mod. ValiantArcher (Valia) is my mod sister. :) MeadowMaid is my other sister, but she's never on anymore. :(

Mortereve all! Tonight Lady A and I are watching the winter Olympics. :D More precisely, the figure skating. :) So far, it's been a great evening

Ooh! I love figure skating! And the olympics. Did you watch them on Saturday night? Specifically, the men's short track? That was cool! I couldn't believe it, when the US got the silver and bronze! Go Team USA!!! I'm babbling, and your ears (eyes?) are probably falling off... :p

See y'all!

Mortereve all!

NN: Wow! You've "almost" lost a lot of posts lately! Lazarus is great. ;))

Yeah, I know! The forum kicks me off every time I post, it seems. Lazarus definitely is great!

@ NN. Alright, that's understandable. :) I like a variety of scores: from dark and eerie (yet still lyrical) to grand and sweeping. I'll keep that in mind though, when I recommend scores to you. *makes a mental note not to recommend horror scores to NN*

Actually three hours of music for both FotR and TTT (they both have 3 discs ;) ) and then 4 hours for RotK. :) MmmHmm, their well worth the investment, though. :D

Besides the fact that a CD sounds better than MP3's (especially on orchestral work), there is also just something neat about having an actually case/liner notes, etc. that you can look at.

To each his own soundtracks. ;)) So, aren't scores like Vertigo and Psycho considered masterpieces? But those are type I wouldn't like.

Oh ok, whoops. Well, either way, that's a ton of music! I really hope I can get them some day.

Yeah, that's true, too. Quality is important. And, I completely agree with the last part.

Speaking of which, I came across some of my dad's old soundtrack LPs, a couple of which I digitized yesterday. Those are fun to listen to.

Thanks so very much for being so understanding, NN95! Sorry it's been happening to you too! (though I'm glad you can recover them!)

Absolutely! And, it is a pain, really. I wonder if it's something the admins can fix...

Well, it's not completely irrelevant. If you're worried about being healthy, then just eat real chocolate. If you don't care about health, then the sugar loaded stuff is good to go. :P It seems to be that this entire argument is irrelevant...to just about everything... :P ;)

I think it's common knowledge that people concerned about health eat things that everyone else considers gross. ;)) If you don't care about health, you can go ahead and get fat eating sugary stuff that doesn't taste good anyway. Fine, the whole argument is irrelevant. Does that mean you concede? ;)

Don't feel bad, you've got just about everyone else in the world on your side of the argument. :P

True.

'Course that doesn't make you right.

My computer has Mozilla, but other than Mozilla, all the other programs on here are really outdated. I need to fix it up some time soon...and in the process I hope I can get Lazarus. :)

If by Mozilla you mean Firefox (they make other things than the browser), then you don't need to do anything else to add Lazarus!

NN95, yes, the car chase was so cool. Oh, and that little part where Riley slipped into the car and said, "I'll drive!" and then there was no steering wheel on his side and Ben reminded him, "We're in England" was funny. So Riley-ish. ;))
So, do you like NT1 better?

Yeah, it was great. Yup, that was a good part, too. Riley is much funnier in 2.
When I first saw 2, I liked it better than the first. After having seen both of them several times, I've decided I like the first slightly better. But they're both so good, it really is hard to chose. I think the one thing that makes me like the first better is the bad guy. Ian is great, but I don't like Mitch much.

NN95, I was going for the Saints because my dad and sister were and I like to root for teams the majority of people aren't going for. ;)) Everybody I knew was going for the Colts, so I decided to go for the Saints. (Maybe because of their name???)
Yep, if all my favorite scenes in both movies were put into one... it would be awesome. I like Riley's comedy better in the second one.

Ah, I see. If the teams playing in the Superbowl were teams I didn't care about, I wouldn't root for either one, I would just watch and enjoy the game. (And I enjoy any football game!) However, I utterly despise the Colts and I strongly root for whomever plays them.
Ooh, that would be cool! Yeah, Riley's much better in 2.

Unfortunately I have a family who's Olympic fanatics. Though I'm not too keen on them (the Olympics I mean).

No offense to any Canadians, but the opening ceremony was rather... boring. :p

Aw, that's not unfortunate. We're not Olympic fanatics, but we do love watching them each year. Especially the summer ones—those are much better. (Lol, if you hadn't specified what you mean, that last sentence would sound like you weren't too keen on your family. ;)) )

Umm, I think overkill would be a more accurate description. But, that's what the opening ceremony was supposed to be. ;))

Tonight Lady A and I are watching the winter Olympics. :D More precisely, the figure skating. :) So far, it's been a great evening.

I saw the first part of that, but I didn't get to see the rest. Which team ended up winning? Where did the US place?

Ah, well, it wasn't. Sorry.
(Yes, I can.)

Haha, that can't be.
(Umm, no you can't.)

There's no finer way to put it! You should be modestly proud of yourself!

Absolutely! Very well put!

Well, I'm off. Mort'reve all!

Good evening! And for those of you whose time breaches all Central Time Zones, good Mortereve. I think I'll start at the very beginning, *sings* "A very good place to start. When you read you begin with A-B-C, when you post you begin with W-I-N-T-E-R." ;)

So here's to Winter, a greeting, "HI!", and a hug: Oh of course, inequalities are easy enough, but genetic engineering? You're no weirdo; I'm that if anyone is! I ought to care more about DNA fingerprints and cloning. Then again, I really don't care if I care about them or not. Back to square 1. ;) Why yes, History is my favorite subject. (Aside from "recreational reading and creative writing") My textbooks have always made history, and even geography, very interesting. We use A Beka for history in high-school; before that it was a more staunch curriculum.

Prince Cor, I'm positive I know these Nebraskans. I know everyone here!
Very well. Neither am I. (about the PM) :)
See, when I took my big college entry test, it was such a last-minute decision I had absolutely NO time for nerves to stop me or make me sick, and the results were immediate after I was finished. I think I got a better deal than you have gotten. ;)

It's our fictitious-friend's birthday today? Vern? Forgive me for calling you "fictitious", but I have a slight problem in wishing a figment of the imagination a "Happy Birthday". Enough people look at me strangely enough as it is. But, um, an exceptionally happy day (when you came into existence, I guess) celebrating four years of Vernhood.

Oh my dear Aiden you mustn't be unenthusiastic about your play! I would give my arm AND leg to be in it!! 'Cept then I wouldn't be able to do anything at all, without my limbs. I'd dearly love to switch places. I have been aching to be in a theatrical production for quite a few months now; I miss it when we used to be "on the stage". I would be Josephine if I could be. You're Mr. Brooke? How scholarly! =)
BTW, good ole dictionary.com or wikipedia gave me the pronunciation for that super-duper word.

*plugs ears while Aiden talks about vegetables being universally hated* They may be disliked, but they have never been categorized, to my knowledge, as "bad-tasting" (except for broccoli) Sorry. That is a good case to bring up, but I think that chocolate's goodness HAS been proven already. And the universal opinion that the world was flat was correct until it had been proven wrong. In which case, the universal opinion was swayed and the world remains round as always and firmly believed so.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Though I don't like how you as much as dubbed me both a CHILD AND LOONEY!! :p

No, I didn't write to Ben, he simply got my address and decided I should have a picture. After he saw my picture, of course. ;) JK, I did write him, five months ago.

Aunt Jo, I'm afraid I "always need hugs". ;) THANK YOU For the multiple ones; they're very cherished!!
I can make a copy of the picture for you to have, if you'd so like. ;)

Yes, Poggy, I did see the new Emma. It is my favorite Austen story for this season of my life; I simply adored it! ('specially Mr. Knightley. ) I'm glad to agree with you anytime, and I'm glad you like my new set of graphics. :D

Drat, I missed Benjamin's birthday. Here's a shout-out to you anyway, bro, late though she be! HAPPY very late BIRTHDAY! Woohoo!

Fanny, ambiguous endeavors to beguile me into a state of confusion have been executed prior to this, and each time they are obliterated. ;) Do you know what you meant yet? ;)

Queen Susan, thank you immensely! I love the photo too...it was just in time for Valentine's Day as well! How physic of him! ;)

Narnia Girl I'm glad you're completely well. I'm on the road there. It's great not coughing!! :D
Thanks, I'm insanely proud of this photo of Ben!

PELS, thank you, I am doing much better this week than last healthwise! :) Oh dear, what could you have read about him that leaves a bad taste in your mouth? That he's perhaps going to be in "New Moon"? (or whatever, I don't even know the titles of those books) That is terrible; I'd be sad if he is in that saga. But he will act whatever part brilliantly, because he's a gifted actor.

Wow, Lark, you must have some motivation to do school on a potential break-day! Hehe, today was my official "winter break" too, but I did school anyway. Anyway, the online instructor for one class I'm taking said it was a break day. Idk though, since winter-break was over Christmas, technically. Nuff 'bout that! :D

/random We watched "The Rough Riders", and "Lyddie", and "Northanger Abbey" over the weekend. The first was fantastic, the second sad but tremendous, and the third, creepy, weird, with a happy ending. :)

Best be off. Have a good night, y'all!

PrinceCor: yes you must :p . It is a little sequel-ish but I like it all the same. They have some pretty cool parts. One of the only things that bothered me is that they had the same oil that they light on fire with torches, like in the first movie, when they find the treasure /:) , I mean, did they really have to do it again? It was cool the first time but the second...just please don't do it in the third :-s :p .

Vern: Happy Birthday!!! ooh um I already had a few cookies today but I LOVE chocolate so I suppose a little slice won't hurt... :D

Narnian at Heart: I like you graphics too :) . I love the new Emma, even though it seems to be getting alot of criticism... :(

Lark: *sigh* why is everyone going to winterjam but me :( ? Oh well, hope you have fun :) . Tell me how it goes :D *please*

Libby: Happily, I be better now :) . So be the babies :p . I still have *the sniffles* (wonder why they're called that? *makes dumb blonde face* :p . ) but no more soar throat or horse cough (mispelling [or mis-wording rather ;) ] on purpose, I sounded like a horse...doing something :p )... :D

so yesterday I started reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Theif. I love it so far, too bad the movie seems like it's not really that good :( .

That's because Alexandre Bilodeau's medal ceremony just aired; it was the first Canadian gold medal at a home Olympics. I like watching the medal ceremonies no matter whose national anthem is played.

The pairs figure skating is currently on.

I think overkill would be a more accurate description. But, that's what the opening ceremony was supposed to be. ;))

Apparently this ceremony was intended to be a little less extravagant than the spectacle out on in Beijing 2 years ago. That one set the bar pretty high.

All this talk of The Lightning Thief (and seeing the movie trailer several times) has piqued my curiosity. I may have to check out that book.

Happy birthday to Vern! Thanks for the cake; it's my favorite flavor.

Oh look, it's snowing again! We've received about a foot in the last week, nothing like those big storms elsewhere but enough to be a minor inconvenience. It's quite pretty, however. At this rate it isn't going to be gone until May. ;))

Glenstorm, (or are you just Glen? Stormy? Glenny? Glendolyn? Glendida? Glenda! The Great? Great One? Any nicknames ringing any bells or tinkling any charms?) ;) About Emma, I simply adore it too. I know some folks feel it's too modernized, but I feel it is the best adaption ever. Emma is so lovely, there's so much life and color to her character and consequently the whole movie. Mr. Knightley, Mr. Churchill, and Mr. Weston are all fine characters. I love them all. I loved this Miss Bates too. She was not as "entirely dumb" as the Miss Bates in another version I'd seen. I'll stand up for the movie anyhow! =] Will you stand with me? Together we can love it as it ought to be loved! Hehe!

K, for real, I'm going away for the night. Bye guys! I get to clean five places tomorrow (four houses and a vet). I'm overjoyed at the prospect of immersing my hands in sudsy water for ten hours tomorrow, mopping numerous floors, sweeping up dog-hair, and vacuuming flights of stairs, dusting countless nick-knacks, and washing windows, mirrors, toilets, and jabbering with my friend the whole time. (I'm only truly overjoyed over the last bit. ;) )

A recently discovered Horner score that I finally looked into after hearing about how great it was. Now I really want to get it.... :D

Anyway, Mortereve all! Well, the party to celebrate Vern's birth went splendidly! :D We had to move everything inside because of the cold, but we put the great hall to good use. ;) The food was amazing as always and the company splendid. :)

*True, very true. Though, I believe you have been reading too many Austen novels lately, Cor. You're starting to sound like one.... ;) *

Well, *ahem*.... yes. *fumbles around with his jacket*

Now on to my promised catch-up:

--------------------------------------

@ Lucy. Unfortunately, we did not get any overnight. :( It's currently in the upper 20's down here with an off and on breeze. So yes, I would say it's cold. ;)

BTW, I like your "City of Ember" avatar. :)

@ Winter. I actually don't remember much about when I really young, just little fragments really. I guess it was so bad I blotted it out. :p *kidding, of course*

No, I have only been watching the figure skating (which started Sunday night). :) Tonight, two Chinese couples took home the Gold and Silver medals while a German couple took the Bronze. Actually, my ears were not falling off.... wait, where are they? :- ;)

@ NN. Heh, I suppose so. ;)) Yes, though I do not fully agree with calling Psycho a true masterpiece. It's good, but very repetitive (unfortunately, a common thing with Herrman scores).

Aye, it is! Basically the entire movie in music form. :D I hope you can too. Like Jo and I have said, they're worth the investment.

Yes, quality is a BIG factor. Oh neat! My Dad has LP's of Gone With the Wind and How the West Was Won. :)

Tonight, two Chinese couples took home the Gold and Silver medals while a German couple took the Bronze. I forgot where the US team placed, but it was out of the top 4.

@ Lark. Aye, that they have I would say. ;) For some reason, I just naturally gravitated towards soundtracks and Oldies/Classic Rock. Don;t know why, but I did. :p

@ Ali. Well, I watched some more of NT2 today, I'm at the part

Spoiler
where they have just entered the Lost City and Ben, Abigal and Riley are on the unstable stone slab.
So far I like it, but NT is a superior film IMO. NT seemed more plausible and a little less cheesy, while NT2 seems more outlandish and goofy (not in a good way).

*Thank you, everyone, for the birthday wishes! :D I'm so glad to have gotten to know all of you! *

I'm really not as unenthusiastic as it appears. I'm excited about any play I'm in. I would still rather be in just about any other play than this, but it's a play after all. I hope you get the opportunity to act onstage soon!
How scholarly, indeed. A very appropriate part. ;))

And the universal opinion that the world was flat was correct until it had been proven wrong. In which case, the universal opinion was swayed and the world remains round as always and firmly believed so.

Wait, the opinion that the world was flat was correct until proven wrong? So, the world really was flat until people discovered it wasn't? I think your incorrect reasoning goes a lot deeper than liking chocolate. :P

No, I didn't write to Ben, he simply got my address and decided I should have a picture. After he saw my picture, of course. ;) JK, I did write him, five months ago.

LOL, I see. ;)) Have you written to any of the other actors/actresses?

Yep, that was the only thing I didn't like about the second. If anything's sequel-ish, that part is. I agree, that would be awful if they did that in the third. ;))

I like watching the medal ceremonies no matter whose national anthem is played.

Ditto!

Apparently this ceremony was intended to be a little less extravagant than the spectacle out on in Beijing 2 years ago. That one set the bar pretty high.

Really? I thought this had been the most expensive ceremony yet and that it was trying to match up to Beijing's. Ah well, either way I think the majority of it is a waste a time. It's a pity about the malfunction at the end though, eh? :(

Tonight, two Chinese couples took home the Gold and Silver medals while a German couple took the Bronze. I forgot where the US team placed, but it was out of the top 4.

I guess I'd just heard that those are considered a couple of the best scores ever, but I've heard songs from them they aren't my taste. Ah well!

I wish they would do that for more movies. But I imagine it takes a lot of work and money to produce them.

And, of course, the quality of an LP isn't nearly as good as a CD... or even an mp3, for that matter. Still, there's something neat about them.

Oh, ok. I knew the US didn't place too well.

I'm off. Mortereve all!!

PrinceCor: I suppose it is a bit cheesier especially with

Spoiler
some of the added action scenes like the stone table thing. I do like the car chase though... :)
. But it's still an enjoyable movie :D

Narnian at Heart: Ooh I like Great One ;) . You can call me Glenstorm, GtG, or Ali :) . I don't like some modern bits they put in it, but I also think it's the best adaption. It's my favorite, and most of the characters were cast better than in any other version. I loved Emma, Mr Woodhouse, Mr Knightley, Jane Fairfax, Ms Bates, Mrs Bates, Mrs Weston, Mr Weston, and Frank Churchill better than in any other version. I will stand with you, it's a marvelous adaption :D :p

Hello all! *Waves*

Haha, that can't be.
(Umm, no you can't.)

Believe you me, it wasn't hard to guess.
(Aiden, Aiden, when will you learn? I can!)

Absolutely! Very well put!

Thank you, I'm quite proud of the way I put it, myself!

@WinterStar: Hello! :) Oh, I like your avy and sig. Are they from Merlin? I've developed a recent obsession with it. ;))

Thanks! Actually, no, they're from a tv show called NCIS Los Angeles. Merlin's a good show to develop and obsession with! ;)) Oh, and before you had the sig. I had it, and every time I see that you've posted I go: "I don't remember posting that!"

Really, though, Jojo, the principles of genetic engineering and cloning are simple enough. I think the only things you really need to care about is the ethical sides of it like should insurance companies be allowed to see our DNA fingerprints? And is cloning humans wrong? (I personly think cloning humans is wrong, because of the number of embryos, and therefore people, destroyed.)
That's good. I never found History very interesting, even from A Beka.

@ Winter. I actually don't remember much about when I really young, just little fragments really. I guess it was so bad I blotted it out. :p *kidding, of course*

lol, that or like all little kids you had the memory span of a bout five minutes. :p ;)

Tonight, two Chinese couples took home the Gold and Silver medals while a German couple took the Bronze. I forgot where the US team placed, but it was out of the top 4.

They placed 14th and 10th, even though they were practically the only couples that didn't fall.

See y'all!
