Happy Birthday to Benjamin! Enjoy your day!

A little ketchup...

Me and my lil sis have been wanting to see Sherlock Holmes...

I had a chance to see it this past weekend and posted a few remarks in the Spare Oom's Current Movies thread. Once you get used to Holmes and Watson being action figures, I thought it was actually pretty good. There are a few scenes it could do without, however.

Well, to be honest, I'm not really a rip-roaring fan of Avatar either.

I think our reactions to it were pretty similar: very pretty to look at, but lacking in substance (like plot and character development). Still, those space shots are pretty awesome (if all too brief).

...It was quite a close game until the end. We were all rooting for the Saints, so a close, competitive game isn't exactly entertaining. ;)) Which commercials did you like?

I'm afraid our group was a bit split...since the Saints beat the hometown Vikings. ;) Yet it was nice for the city of New Orleans.

I thought the Monster.com/beaver one was mildly amusing, as were two LOST-themed Bud Light commercials (neither of which by themselves were spectacular) - the island/plane crash one for a direct reference, and the astronomers/asteroid one (thanks to the presence of the show's Dr. Chang at the eyepiece).

Incidentally, one of my all-time favorite Super Bowl ads is this one for Tabasco sauce. Having lived all my life in mosquito country, it seems strangely appropriate. ;))

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VICaWgD-76w

*Also preferred the first National Treasure movie to the second - though both were entertaining*

Over the years the majority of people have thought something and then been proven wrong. One of the most famous examples is the belief of the entire world in Christopher Columbus's day that the world was flat. The majority believed that. Were they right because of that?

I agree with your point...but Columbus really isn't a good example. Many people through the ages have understood the world to be round, both from its shadow on the moon (during eclipses) and by watching the way sailing ships vanish over the horizon. The ancient Greeks even had a good approximation for its circumference. Columbus was criticized because they thought it would be too far to sail west to reach India. (More here).
[/astronomy geek]

Anyway, did someone say chocolate? :)

*Listens to a little more Alan Parsons Project*

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I had a rather boring day today. All I did was my normal school, chores, and excercise and then babysit my younger siblings for 4 hours :| . Ah well, at least my mom bought me a new pair of shoes :D .

pogginfan: I'm ashamed to say I have not but it's entirely my fault b/c I had to return it to the library and haven't been able to get my hands on it since ;;) .

johobbit: it was the New Hallelujah tour. I sang alto, although I almost sang soprano 2 b/c I can sing that part too. Liberty Hoffman actually was in the choir as well as a soprano 1 ;)) . MWS was really nice. He was extremely humble and down to earth and was just really nice :) . I loved being at the concert and part of the choir. It blessed me in alot of ways :)

PrinceCor: Ok I'm used to being called Ali :p (everyone says my name is too long :) )...anyway. Unfortunately, I've only seen the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice so that's why I can't really discuss which version is better and such :p . I do have the 1995 version on videocassette though so hopefully soon I can watch it :)

I'll respond to more another time, but I'm sorry I somehow missed that it was Benjamin's birthday. A very happy day and year to you, Benjamin!

Cupcakes for the birthday young man! :D

(I can't believe I kept this post so short. ;))) Night all and cozy slippers! (-|

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't come in here in a few days! Actually, that's not true...
I came a few days ago, and typed up a post replying to you all. But just as I was gonna post it, Nweb told me I couldn't because I wasn't logged in or something. (which was soo stupid, and couldn't have been true. I had been typing for several hours straight. It took so long, because I was doing it while watching my shows. Which is part of what was so hard on me, I had missed lots of little things during those two shows in order to properly respond to you. So, I lost my post AND details of Knight Rider and the A-team. I was NOT a happy camper, to say the least)

You all totally deserve for me to reply to you, and part of me still wants to. But I have other things to do, than spend more hours typing it up another time through. Other things to do + paranoid it could do it again + being somewhat lazy= no reply post from Andrea. I am SO sorry!

But I still thought I should stop by and let you know I wasn't ignoring you. I've been reading everything since my last post. And I feel really bad. But, yeah. A reply on those posts is not gonna happen. :(

Yes, you're worth it. Yes, I love you. But there is lots on my mind, lots to do, and little time to do it in. I hope you aren't disappointed in me for that. (I know you aren't Jo and Shepherd... you already told me several times)

Aunty Jo, I will pm you what I thought of the movie. Does that work? Look for it sometime before Monday!! :D

Oh, and one more thing... my characters wanted to say something to you:
(which what's with that? No longer is it enough to bug me, they have to bug all of you as well? Did you know they hijacked my thread about them on Storytellers the other night, to say something to the members there? Oy)

Who's up for a dare? 'Cause I have some great ideas!

Oh, no. Not another idea!

Besides, that's not how you greet someone. We've told you that. *slaps the back of his head*

*Charlie glares at both of them*

You guys are giving them a bad impression of us! The first time we talk to them, and this is how you choose to behave? Typical. SO typical.

Oh, knock it off! All of you!
*sticks out hand to shake* Hiya! I'm Riks. *nods to rest* I'll let those dweebs introduce themselves.

Riks? A little help here, please!

Oh, brother! Ok, fine. *proceeds to help Matt sit on Charlie to make him behave*

*Tony's eyebrows shoot up* Sorry, that's the best way we know how to restrain him. I'm Tony. How're you today?

Tony, is it ok to talk to these people? They seem nice, but they're still strangers...

It's ok, Kev. They're friends of "the-one-who-dictates". *

Oh. Ok, then. *turns to us, with a bright smile* Hello! I'm Kevin, but you can call me Kev.

*from sitting on Charlie's back, Matt waves* Hey there, people! I'm Matt. *indicates Charlie* This is my cousin, Charlie Drew.

Snark, can you please get off my back! You weigh a ton!

No he doesn't, and you know it!

BOYS! Knock it off! You're embarrassing me! *I give them a stern look*

Anyway, yeah. We'll see you next time! Mortereve everyone! *Kev interjects asking what that means, and I whisper back that I'll tell him later*

*"the-one-who-dictates" is short for what Charlie calls me: "The-one-who-dictates-everything-we-say" (which is usually followed by: "But not really, 'cause Tony wrote it. Don't know how SHE got hold of it") =))

Edited to add:
GtG, I'm SO glad you seem to be getting the hang of this place! :D Hope you're enjoying yourself...

Ok, ok. NOW I'm going to bed! ;)
*waves on the way out, after stopping to make sure the boys had left*

Glad to see you took time to post, PA. Pity about losing your first one. :( At the same time, no pressure, though, you know that.

*looks at poggin's quote from Lydia Jane* Hmm, she must have been in the Square before I began posting again. *waves to Lydia* :D Will you be taking guitar lessons, or teaching yourself? *agrees that a guitar is much more portable than a piano ;)) being a pianist, myself.

pogginfan, it is great to see you again, too. :D

[quote="stargazer re Avatar":2nh54yx3]Still, those space shots are pretty awesome (if all too brief).

Oh yes, I wish I could have paused the film when those gorgeous space shots came up. Wow!

:)) 'gazer, that Tabasco sauce commercial is hilarious! Living in mosquito country, as well, I may be tempted to try this method in the summer. :p

Liberty Hoffman was in the choir too? Nice! Are you sisters, Glenstorm? And I agree that Smitty just seems like a great guy who loves the Lord with all his heart. At least, that's the impression I get in all I've read/heard/seen about him over the past couple of decades. Let's remember to pray for him, as being in such high profile and a respected Christian man and musician, he'd be a focused target for Screwtape and his crew, to be sure.

Well, we're off up to the northlands tomorrow morning. I'll be sure to take snowy photos. :D See y'all next week. to each of you dear SquareOnions.

johobbit: no we're not sisters but we're really good friends. We've known each other for around a decade :D . Yes I prayed for then at the concert, and the whole choir did a prayer too. i don't normally pray for him but it would be a nice habit to start :) .

PA: I'm glad too- it's fun :D . Are roleplays fun? They look confusing :- :p

Good Mortereve everyone! How are you all today? :)

That's not too far in, is it? Like maybe only the sixth or seventh episode? Or am I remembered incorrectly? Anyway, I enjoyed that episode, as recall.

You're right, it's the ninth episode. :) Yes, that episode was pretty funny, and all that stuff could only happen to Max, right? ;))

You know, you're right. The movies encourage the saying "The end justifies the means." But as long as you realize that what these people are doing is wrong, the rest is alright.

Very true- so perhaps the key is to have the right age for the viewers, who would naturally know that "The end justifies the means" is wrong, or take the time in the following days to discuss that particular part with whomever watched it if they didn't know that already. :)

Ack! So a few days ago my oldest sister decides that she wants to be an over seas missionary/teacher. Over seas? :( I knew she wasn't planning on coming home after graduation, but I didn't know she was going over seas?! I only wish I could go with her... :(

Wow...! That is a big decision! I'll be praying for her and you, dear friend!

Speaking of Dickens, I've been trying to read more of him lately, beginning with Oliver Twist. I read the children's version several years ago and know the story, but I've never read the entire book...

Hurray! :) How are you enjoying Oliver Twist? I first read one of the children's versions as well, and then was turned off of the story by two movie versions- one, rather gory and violent, and the second, a rather mediocre adaptation, but when I finally read the story for myself (and the real story!) it was really good. Of course, no one in my family (who also saw the movies) would believe me- or so it felt- that the book was really really good! They were probably all like "Yeah, sure...." Anyways. ;)) I didn't mind too much- at least I knew! :)

If it wasn't normal, it would at least be fun!! :D

Yes indeed!! :D

Greetings F2! I agree with everything you said. And something else I wasn't very fond of was the... unrealistic adventure scenes. ;)) It was just so fake, instead putting me at the edge of my seat it was making me laugh out loud.

;)) I must admit that when I first saw the movie it was intense (as was the several viewings after), and while I'm not sure what my reaction now would be to it, but I think I can see why you'd feel that way indeed. ;))

Fanny, how very exciting about your family vacation in June! A reunion for you and a special meeting for your sister and her penpal. :D Hurrah for meeting and spending time with other NarniaWebbers! :)

Thank you! :) Yes, it should be absolutely lovely! :) What's really funny is that both our friends have the same name, so we're thinking of getting them signs they can hang on their shirts that say "Fanny's ______" and "Fanny's Sister's ______" Of course, substituting the "Fanny" and "Fanny's Sister" for our real names. ;) I hope it doesn't get too confusing! ;)

"Get Smart"? A friend gave me Season 5 for Christmas because I have fond memories of rushing home from school as a child to watch it with my brother every weekday. Don Adams was hilarious as Max, and I also liked what's-his-name as the Chief.

Those sound like great memories indeed! :) I got Season 5 for Christmas as well, but we have not yet watched it. :)

*nods* Coughs are so annoying, especially when they wake one up at night. :p

Or even worse when you sleep right through it but it wakes everyone else up! My folks had some sleepless nights when I was sick. ;))

Dearest Fanny, whose avatar I just heart! ;), I am slightly unsure how to take your poetic statement...is this to mean that you dislike with the utmost repulsion having to admit when I'm right? Or simply that you're gifted with fancy words and similes? =]

Or that I have a talent for babbling on with big and serious words that happen to get my friends confused. ;) I will have to look back and see what I meant, and then I can get back to you. ;)

FF, hehe yeah, I must admit that I've been having a good time despite being sick. ;) :D I'm feeling much better now though - barely coughing at all. Yeah, the cough part is horrid, it hurts your chest so bad after you've been coughing for a while.

Oh good! :) And I hope by now you are all recovered? :) And how is the rest of life for you? :)

@ Fanny. It was good.... but too short. I was hoping it would be longer than just an hour. *sigh* Still, it was good. :)

Ah yes. Whilst this version of Emma was not a favourite of mine, I do know with other period films and television shows that I watch on TV (or used to watch, I don't watch much anymore), I would anticipate it all week and then it would be over in an hour... ;( ;))

Ahaha! Nope, you didn't. And yes, we do! =] Yes'm, that's very true about being introverted. And for me, I also tend not to give what I'm thinking about to others until I'm sure they'll work but then it ends up confusing them. ;)) Right, oh well...

Ah yes indeed! :) But I like almost everything else about being an introvert, so I really can't complain. ;)

True that! :) And I know she wouldn't laugh if we did a particularly wrong move in our dance, yes? ;)) Oh, that sounds capital! :D Very good, very good. ^.^
LOL! It didn't sound that odd. :P Sometimes, when an especially favourite song is playing, we'll get the urge. Sadly, on my part, Ella can dance enough but I can't. :P So I have to sit and...dance in my head? ;))

Ah yes! I understand! *nods* Dancing in our heads, yes, yes. Oh yes, and of course JoJo wouldn't laugh, no, I do think she's to kind for that! :)

It goes well, thanks! :) I haven't reached a big, startling part in the book yet but I'm enjoying it. :)

Glad to hear it! :)

All right, I'll definitely have to read that sometime. :) Ditto, history is amazing. :D (Especially that time period) I also like studying times before Cleopatra, mostly the ancient world. We have a Bible which shows what was happening that the Bible recorded, and then on the opposite side of the time line, significant things that happened at the same period of time. It's really fascinating to study. :) )

Your Bible sounds fantastic- I've lately often wanted to look into something like that, or a somewhat detailed timeline or overview that would give me a good idea of what was happening when events in the Bible were happening. The other day I was surprised to find that people like Buddha and Confucious were actually before Christ! (Why them in particular is because I was doing a lesson on missions and they were listing some of the major world religions and they included those two...) It was actually kind of shocking, but it's nice to have even that little bit of information for the image in my mind. :)

Well, I suppose it's evident that they are not still over here now ( ;)) ), but no, they were only over for the afternoon. It was quite fun though! It was some relatives that Djaq and I didn't know very well, but it was very fun getting to see them!

;)) Oh yes, of course! ;) I'm glad you had fun! :) And how is life for you now? :)

Neat-o! ;) That's pretty cool. I love Roy Rogers too. ;))

:D *waves* How are you? :) Did you have a good birthday?

Oh yes, I agree! Monte Cristo is really one of those books that I wonder how you can abridge it. There's nothing that needs to be cut out. :)

Very true! I can kind of understand them (whoever "they" are who do the sad deed) abridging something such as Les Miserables because there was so many "diversions", or, long long sections of things that, yes, do relate to the story in providing back ground, but the reader could do without, but with Monte Cristo, it was all pretty much straighforwards plot, which I really like. :)

I'm so glad to hear that prayers are being answered, and God is showing your family what decision to make! :)

Thank you! :)

I do know what you mean about reading something that you wrote when you were going through a trial...but sometimes even those encourage me, because while they're still sometimes painful, I realize that it's strengthened me in some way, and brought me closer to God. :)

That is true! And we can really really see God's hand throughout it, I believe. :) Even if we couldn't then, we can now looking back. :) And we can marvel at His goodness and faithfulness in being with us, and truly carrying us, even when we felt so alone. :)

Life is going very well right now, thank you! :) How is yours?

Oh good! :) My life as well is great- God has been really providing for us, and it's really exciting to ask Him to show His will, tell Him that we'll trust Him to bring along what we need when we need it, and that if a certain something is His Will He WILL arrange everything, and then step back and watch Him work and wait for Him and take the right steps when it's time. :) I'm really really excited about that! :)

Well.....I should be off. :) I have some laundry to hang up. :) Cheers all!!

Dear days of old, with the faces in the firelight,
Kind folks of old, you come again no more.

Mortereve all!

Anyone gonna watch the Olympics?

Ah,ok. Thanks. :)

To clarify, last time I checked IMDb didn't have anything (except for a year—2011, I think), but if you're signed up for IMDbPro, it says there's more information.

*scoots a beautiful, big vanilla cake over NN/Aiden's way* (No chocolate in sight, see? ;)))

Thankee kindly! That'll go right along with the all-vanilla birthday cake a friend of mine had on Wednesday. :)

Well, to be honest, I'm not really a rip-roaring fan of Avatar either. ;))

I don't blame you. I've seen the ads and I don't get what all the hype is about. Maybe I'd like it slightly better if I saw it. I don't know. Did you see it in 3D? If so, which type?

Yes, I believe that LotR's Complete Recordings have dropped in price significantly over the months.

Ah, well maybe I'll get them someday!

NN, we want to re-read Voyage before December's film as well. And are you enjoying the Curdie books? My favourite is the first, The Princess and the Goblin. So, did you finish reading The Fotr and are on Two Two Towers when you are able to begin again? You've read The Hobbit, yes? If not, try and read it before the first film releases in 2011.

I'm sure most people would like to, but it's been so long since I've read it, that I really need to! In fact, I need to read all of the Chronicles, and I was part way through LWW when school started. :| Yes, the Curdie books were great. :) I had finished FotR, but I'll probably read it again as a refresher. Oh yes, I've read The Hobbit. It's much lighter than LotR, so I'll probably read it again before the movies come out. I'm so glad I will actually have been a fan of the book before the movie as opposed to afterwards, which was the case with LotR. You'll be remembered as the one that got me into Tolkien's books. :D

Yes. :(
No. :(
We sometimes get some snow in October too (often around Thanksgiving weekend), but it doesn't usually stay.
January and February are our snowiest months ... but not this year. :(
I do too, thanks! :)

:(
It's not surprising to get snow in October, we just usually don't. We always go on a hike on Thanksgiving and some years it's snowing like a blizzard and other years you could go out without a jacket.
They're usually ours too, but this has been a strange year.

*giggles at the proud modesty banter between Winter and NN* ;))

We're quite proud of it, really.

Hard to guess? Or easy to guess?
(Uh, yes.)

Hard to guess, of course.
(Sorry, no.)

Quite! :)

Quite modestly proud. :P

I'm afraid our group was a bit split...since the Saints beat the hometown Vikings. ;) Yet it was nice for the city of New Orleans.

Well, I was rooting for the Vikings in the playoffs, and would have liked to see them in the Superbowl. Once the Saints beat the Vikings, I was only rooting for them because I hate the Colts. In fact, I think that's the reason most of the people at the Superbowl gathering were rooting for the Saints. ;)) It was great to see them get a first Superbowl, though.

Yeah, definitely a coupe of the best. I've never seen LOST, but the plane crash one reminded me of it. Interesting.

Haha, that Tobasco one is great, too.

Well, I apologize for my misunderstanding of astronomical history. ;)) I was only trying to make a point and that was what came to mind first. :P

I came a few days ago, and typed up a post replying to you all. But just as I was gonna post it, Nweb told me I couldn't because I wasn't logged in or something. (which was soo stupid, and couldn't have been true. I had been typing for several hours straight.

That's been happening to me the past couple days. Every time I write up a post! Isn't that so annoying? I would recommend Lazarus, the post recovery tool, but it's a part of Firefox, and I know you've said before you would never switch from IE to FF just to have Lazarus.

And, really, don't feel bad about not doing another catchup! I totally understand how disheartening losing a post is.

You're right, it's the ninth episode. :) Yes, that episode was pretty funny, and all that stuff could only happen to Max, right? ;))

Ok, I thought so. Yeah, I know. What fun to watch, eh? ;))

Very true- so perhaps the key is to have the right age for the viewers, who would naturally know that "The end justifies the means" is wrong, or take the time in the following days to discuss that particular part with whomever watched it if they didn't know that already. :)

Yeah, you wouldn't want to show it to someone that would take these methods to heart. And, I think it's a great idea to watch something that conveys the wrong viewpoint with critical thinking and then discuss what was wrong with it afterwards.

Well, I'm off. Mortereve all!

EDIT: Lazarus just recovered this. Can't imagine life without it.

Let's see, Su² had a birthday! Many happy returns of the day!

Thanks, Mel!!! :D It was a good day. ;)

Happy belated birthday, Queen Susan! I'm sorry I missed that. How was your special day? :)

Oh, that's fine. :p I always seem to miss birthdays. :| It was great! We went bowling as a family. :D

Seriously, one of my fingers (my pinky) is messed up on both hands so it's kinda hard to hold it right. Stupid fingers. :P Sorry, I'm rambling.

Cool that you started piano!!! :D
I totally know what you mean. :p My pinky on my left hand will NOT co-operate for violin. And it doesn't want to stretch very far. :p

Have fun at your Games night. I love those. We have an extended family one coming up the end of February, and we have Games Days with Valiant_Lucy's family a couple of times a year. Fun! What games are you playing?

Will do!! ;)) That sounds fun! I've noticed on facebook that you guys have gotten together quite a bit. How fun! :D
Not sure on the exact games--it's usually spur of the moment, whatever everyone wants to play. ;) But "Catch Phrase" and "Apples to Apples" seem like possibilities. ;)) Ever heard of them? Played them? Like them? ;))

Happy belated birthday!

Happy belated birthday, Queen Susan! :D I hope it was splendid!

Thank you both!!! :D

Jojo: AWESOME autograph!! Yay! How exciting for you!!! :D :D

I'm not sure if I'm late or not... but Happy birthday to Ben!! :D

How are you? :) Did you have a good birthday?

Yes, it was fantastic, thank you!! I went out to eat for breakfast with my Dad, and our family went bowling in the afternoon! Quite enjoyable. Though now we all have colds and one of my brothers thinks we picked it up from the bowling center... ;)) We'll never know I suppose. But it was fun anyway. ;)

Mortereve all! Well, it's still snowing in Archenland/AL! :D *happy sigh* Looks kind of like LWW outside.... ;))

Well, it's time for that promised catch-up post:

------------------------------------

@ NN. Alright, that's understandable. :) I like a variety of scores: from dark and eerie (yet still lyrical) to grand and sweeping. I'll keep that in mind though, when I recommend scores to you. *makes a mental note not to recommend horror scores to NN*

Actually three hours of music for both FotR and TTT (they both have 3 discs ;) ) and then 4 hours for RotK. :) MmmHmm, their well worth the investment, though. :D

Besides the fact that a CD sounds better than MP3's (especially on orchestral work), there is also just something neat about having an actually case/liner notes, etc. that you can look at.

@ Lark. Styx? You like Styx? Yes!! :D Do you like any other Classic Rock (rock music from the 60's, 70's and 80's)? *pulls out guitar and begins playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps*

Ah yes, I remember you greeting me on the NW page at FB. Anyway, nice to meet you too! :) I'm not really sure which book is my favorite.... probably a toss-up between "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and "The Magicians Nephew".

If I remember correctly, Vern was in a little shop that I stopped at. He was looking for a new home, so I bought him from the store owner and now here we are. :)

*And I'm very proud to be able to call you my owner and friend. Even if you do play your music a little.... repeatedly sometimes. ;) Or fall into a stream... or get beavers mad at you... or...*

Umm, thanks Vern. We get the picture....

*Hello, Lark! Ah, so few people these days have.... *sigh* Anyway, I'm doing quite well, thank you. Staying warm during this small winter storm. And how are you?
Ah, good. Cor is quite proud of his blog. :)
*

Glad you found the "Titanic" review helpful!

@ Jo. Well, as far as I know I'm not getting married or anything of the like. /:) :p

@ Winter. Umm, I suppose. I actually don't remember much of when I was younger (like really young). That's fine. Really, it is. :)

*waves to Poggy*

@ Ali. It seems like most of the young ladies on NW have only seen the 2005 version or they have seen both and prefer the '05 version. I've only seen the 1995 version myself. :)

@ Fanny. Yes, same here. Also, when you watch a movie on TV that you have on VHS or DVD and you suddenly realize all the "editing" that they have done to it for TV. :(

@ Lark concerning RP. To join a RP, you need to PM the creator ('s) and ask to join. You can find the list of who is in-charge of which RP on the front page of that RP. Or you can just PM someone who is in that RP and ask who you need to contact about joining. :)

Re: National Treasure. I finally finished the first film last night!! :D I must say, it was a very enjoyable film. Kind of cheesy at times, but always fun.

I watched the first 15 minutes of NT2 as well last night and from what I saw, I was very disappointed in it. :( It feels like a typical sequel, which is pretty bad when you can tell that from the first 15 minutes. :-s

I'll give more in-depth reviews in the Past Movie thread in SO later this weekend. :) ;)

Alright, I think that gets everything. Well, house work back at the castle calls us away, so.... Mortereve all and I hope everyone has a good Friday evening!

Cor: you should watch the '05 version, it's good :D . If you watch it, I'll watch the 1995 version :p

I'm glad you liked NT1! I love that movie. The second one definetly isn't as good, but I still like that one as well. They added alot more action, at least IMO but it's still good :p . I hope you enjoy it :D

Hey people!
Ok, time for a short catch-up...

Thanks, Jo!

PA: I'm glad too- it's fun :D . Are roleplays fun? They look confusing :- :p

You're having fun? Awesome! :D

To be honest, I wouldn't rightly know. I haven't really participated in roleplays much. (if at all) That mess up there in my last post were the characters from my first novel (and the sequels to follow) that I'm in the process of writing.

Mess? What mess?

I think she's refering to you.

*glares*
And while we're on the subject, what's this 'characters' business?

Well, there are several definitions for the word. But in this case, I think she meant...

Oh, nobody asked you!

It's ok, Kev. Please continue. :)

I don't think I should...

Oh, don't tell me you're scared of Charlie. You've known him your whole life!
*turns to me* In all the excitement last night, I forgot to ask you... why'd you bring up Knight Rider and the A-team?

Because I have been watching them a lot lately. Partially, for your benefit. I know you guys like those shows. ;)

Well, duh. But what I want to know, is why do you keep saying you're writing about us. Tony wrote down what happened to us... and we're real people!

To us, maybe. And to her. But to most people we're made up... I think.

I tell you, I'm a man. A thinkin' man!

Hey, Charlie... you know what I say about that.

Aww, shuddit MACers!

How did I know I'd find you three in here? *turns to you* Sorry, about them.

That's ok, Tony. I'm watching them.

But they don't listen to you. For cryin' out loud, they don't always listen to me! And I'm their leader...

It's ok, dude. Really.

If you say so...

Hey, Tony! Say, where's Riks at?

Hey, yourself! :p I think he's watchin the kids. He said somethin' about his mom having to go see her sister again.

We might want to check on him later, then. I know how tired they make him...

Sure. But right now, let's focus on Charlie. ;)

Agreed. I don't think we can be of much help to Riks, if we can't control Force. I mean, putting him in the same area as Rett and the terror twins? Not smart!

Guys, you forget Riks has more than just three younger siblings.

No, Kev. We haven't forgotten. But the other three aren't as much trouble.

Oh. Right. Maybe I'm the one that had a memory malfunction...

O-k, then. And you all say I have issues? Kev has more than me!

Oh, stop it you guys! Tony, why don't you take them to get some snacks at the Cup and Platter?

Alright. *prods the rest in that direction*

*waves to Cor and Vern* Glad it's snowing, and that you're enjoying it! :D

Hey, Fanny! Sorry we haven't talked in awhile! I might try and pm you sometime soon, ok? :)

Thanks so very much for being so understanding, NN95! Sorry it's been happening to you too! (though I'm glad you can recover them!)

*waves to anyone else I might have missed*

Listening to Owl City always makes me smile!! :)

Now...time for some catch up!!

*gives a hug back to Dani* Thank you! It's good to be back around here! :)

*hugs flambeau* :) It's always good to be on the Square, isn't it? I for one have been avoiding this place for too long now... *looks guilty*

I am the proud owner of a F style mandolin named Oscar. ;) :) My brother and I have started taking mandolin lessons, and so I bought a mandolin recently, and I love it! :) That pretty much sums it up!

*mouth gapes* :-o Ok, it's official. Life is not fair. :P Mandolin lessons sound really exciting!! You'll have to play and record something for us to listen to sometime. :D Aw, and Oscar is such a cute name. :)

Three storms this winter so far, Ruby? That's sure more than we've had ... very unusual for us. *weeps*

Lol, I'm not sure if you could call them all storms. If you came and saw our "snow storms" you would probably be like "what? these are storms?" They're only storms for us, because we've never seen a real snow... :P

@ Ruby. Sheltered? No, not really. I just don't get out much. :p Anyway, it was surprisingly not that difficult, except for math.

Haha! I shouldn't be talking here, because if anyone's led a sheltered life it's me. :P Yeah, math is probably one of my weakest spots in academics too...

Dani: I know! I haven't been in here in at least a month!

Yes, you really have been away too long...though I've haven't exactly been keeping up well on here either. :P Anyway, how's everything been going for you? Anything drastically exciting happened recently?

You really should read the Percy Jackson series. It's fantastic. I actually just finished re-reading the first one today. Now I'm on the Demigod Files. It's a bunch of other stories that aren't in the books. Pretty good, thus far.

Well then, I suppose I really must read Percy Jackson. :) I'll put it on my list of books to read this year and hopefully I'll get to it soon...a lot of my friends are reading it and it sounds really exciting. Aren't they making a movie of it soon?

Snowstorm?! Snowstorm??!! That measly half-inch that melted already? A snowstorm??!!

Lol, I was just explaining that to jo....we don't get proper snow storms here...

Now, in Illinois we got storms! Those drifts would cover our van and we would sled down our car... :) :P

Yep, lots of fun! It still never ceases to amaze me that they want me around. (since I graduated high school in '02) ;)) But we have fun, and are like a close-knit family of sorts.

Aw, that sounds like our youth group!! Though, unfortunately they started a college group in our church so a lot of the kids from the high school group "retired" and moved on... :(

Really? Yours always seem very coherent to me. :p

I think they just seem jumbled to me because my mind likes to complicate things a lot....if that makes any sense. :p

So, there are two kinds of chocolate, the healthy and the unhealthy, and they both taste good (but the unhealthy tastes better, I imagine), correct? Well there you go, your argument that its healthiness is a reason to eat chocolate is irrelevant.

Well, it's not completely irrelevant. If you're worried about being healthy, then just eat real chocolate. If you don't care about health, then the sugar loaded stuff is good to go. :P It seems to me that this entire argument is irrelevant...to just about everything... :P ;)

Don't feel bad, you've got just about everyone else in the world on your side of the argument. :P

True.

Ah, I figured you'd heard of it. Oh don't worry, you won't have to update or change anything. This is just a small little add-on for Firefox (if that's the browser you use). I assure you, this won't make it die. Anyway, if you don't lose posts often, there's not too much point in getting this.

My computer has Mozilla, but other than Mozilla, all the other programs on here are really outdated. I need to fix it up some time soon...and in the process I hope I can get Lazarus. :)

Missed Queen Susan's birthday...*feels bad* Do you accept late happy birthday's?? ;;)

I'm doing well, Ruby. I'm glad to hear that you can still be involved in dance.

I'm really glad that I get to stick around too. It seems to me that the only real reward in learning something is to be able to teach it to someone else later on...

Ruby, yeah, family reunions are always lots of fun! It's a perfect time to see family members and everything again. :)
Have you gotten any more snow? :)

Yeah, we got a little more snow...but it all melted in like a day! And today the sun is out and shining and the weather's really beautiful. :)

Lark!! Good to see you on the Square!

Oh, johobbit, those veggies look yummy right now... ;) :P

Heeeeey, Rubes! *said in a guttural-type voice* ;) 'Sup man? (even that doesn't work, LOL!) How fun that you'll be starting your own dance class! I would be a willing but very elephanty student, I'm 'fraid. ;;)

Wassup Jo-Jizzle??? Lol, that was completely random. Anyway, I'm doing really well. I actually had my first dance class today and it was...interesting. A little crazy, but interesting. All of my students are really young and so it's hard to capture their attention for an entire hour. I just hope they really learn something from my class...

Yeah, when you learn to manage with a headache, then life is able to move on. Some days, though, Mom and I can't even function when our necks are so tight and such. I don't think that they have anything to do with my eyes; I once thought they might be from reading so much, so I had my eyes checked and wore glasses for a few years until my simple stigmatism problem fixed itself. How do you manage your headaches? Diet Coke (caffeine, you know!) and two aspirin usually do it for me.

My head aches are usually a result of a knot in my neck and my Mom's. We have really thin necks. Whenever I get headaches, I just go lie down with a book and read until I fall asleep. Sleep is usually the thing that helps the head ache or a good cup of tea. Hot tea always helps my head aches in the morning. :)

Oh my goodness!! You got a picture of Prince Caspian signed by Ben Barnes??!! :-o

Hi, Ruby! Oh, don't feel bad! I'm at fault, too. I've been doing pretty good! A bit busy, but good. :) How have you been? Whoa, I can't believe your house got struck by lightning! :-o

I've been great, poggin!! I'm a little (understatement :P ) tired today. Lol, I can definitely understand busyness...my life seems to be getting more and more busy as of late. :P

Yeah, the lightning was pretty freaky...almost gave me a heart attack. I'm just glad nothing other than phone and our internet connection got zapped... :P

And I missed Benjamin's birthday??? *weeps* I feel so ignorant...
Well, late happy b-day anyway!!! I hope you had a good one. :)

GtG!! Welcome to the square!! Though it would appear that you've already been on here for quite some time already.. :P I've just been gone too long.

Wow...! That is a big decision! I'll be praying for her and you, dear friend!

Thanks, Fanny! :)

I've never seen any of the movie adaptions of Oliver, but I know that we own the musical adaption to the book...never seen it though. I'm really enjoying the book!

Well, that's all I have time for now!! See you all later!

God bless!

Thanks for the welcome Ruby! I like it here :p . I just read above that you're reading Oliver Twist! It's a great book isn't it? After you're done reading it, if you want to watch a movie version i suggest you get the old BBC version with Keira Knightley. It was the best version I saw. None of the movie versions have the entire story, at least none of the ones I've seen (I've seen most versions except a few animated versions, some that came out in the early 1940's, and one that came out recently in 2008 or something)... :)
