I think we all are scared of Ditto Town at first. Don't worry, that will pass with time. And then you'll never want to leave! I have been coming in here since a few months after joining Narniaweb. (I think it was around my birthday, even) It's a little different for everyone, though.
So, I don't want to pry or anything... but making new friends (especially with fellow Nwebbers) is always grand fun. So, tell me a bit about yourself! What kinds of things do you like? How was your day? That kind of thing.
My day was fine, I suppose. Kind of boring.
I know most in here (if not all), already know me. But, you don't. So, I'll say a bit to get us started on understanding each other better.
I'm a Christian. (to be specific, I'm a Lutheran. in case you wondered )
I turned 26 this past November. *gag*
I have a wide variety of interests, and have trouble picking favourites of ANYTHING. (I can usually narrow them down to top 10 or so, though) Umm, in November I started writing my first novel, based off an idea I got last January. (no, this wasn't for NaNo) I live in the midwest. (Illinois, to be specific) I still live at home with my parents, younger sister (who, I think is.. 23 or 24, now), and our thirteen year old dog, Lady. No, I'm not working.. and I don't know whether I like that or not. Is that good enough for a start?
Today was annoying. I did alot of school b/c I'm trying to catch up. The only good part about school today was I got 100% on my pre-test for Chemistry and also on my Algebra 2 test... . But after school we watched a movie we rented from Netflix so I'm good now
. Plus I read (or heard since I'm listening to an audio book
) two chapters from Persuasion and finished another book so I feel accomplished today
.
I like singing, playing piano, blogging, reading, riding my bike, baking, photography, watching movies, Narniaweb , etc.
I'm also a Christian (a Reformed Baptist/Calvanist specifically )
I'll be 16 in 4 months
I'm the oldest of 5
Sorry your day was annoying, but I'm glad it was productive!
What movie did you guys get? Was it good?
Seems we like a lot of the same things! Singing.. do you (or have you ever) sing in a choir? If so, what voice part? Back when I was in school, and still in choirs, I was a soprano. I like playing piano too, but was never as good at it as I could/should have been.
Maybe I should try it again sometime. Oh, who am I kidding? I'd love to be able to play all instruments! (and I mean, well.. not badly. But all I know is the piano... for now. I've been after my dad and friends to teach me guitar. So far, they've been too busy [friends excuse. and it IS a valid one.. as they've got school, work, church stuff, and sports], or I need to do or learn other things before I learn guitar. [dad's excuse])
What are some of your favourite movies?
Edit:
Oh, it seems you've left. It was nice getting to chat!
This post was directed at Glenstorm the Great, but any of you can comment on it, if you like.
Good Mortereve SquareOnions! I hope you are all having a pleasant day. It's been snowing and snowing here and I can't say I'm enjoying it. Rather, I wish it would up and melt.
Aunty Jo, I'm backk!
NG, ya really did like it better than the first? Riley was funnier, so that made it lighten up a little. But... which evil guy did you like better?
*returns the wave of my other lovely triplet Bella* How are you, dear?
Pa, you should re-watch them. I like them alot. Have you written a book?
Cor, I can see how it could be nerve-wracking. You need to watch the NT movies soon! They're pretty good.
*waves to LL* I sent you a PM, concerning your blog I wished to follow. Did you get it?
Hello, Edmund P and Flam! Do come back here often, I miss y'all old SquareOnions.
Welcome to the Square, Glenstorm the Great! I've seen you around the Games and Blogs section. It's great to have you in here!
That's it for me.. now off to school. Btw, how many of you are enjoying the 'new' Facebook?

Goodmorning
Princess Anna: The movie we got was disc 2 of a series called "Colonial House". It's a show that used to air on PBS.
I've sung in a choir before, I used to be in one when I was younger and recently I sung in a choir for a Michael W. Smith concert. I want to play guitar too (and drums ). My piano teacher is gonna teach me a little drums but she doesn't know much herself, but it will still be nice
Besides Narnia I like Eagle Eye, The Passion, The Ultimate Gift, The Lion King, The Forbidden Kingdom, Pride and Prejudice, Bride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility (1995 and 2008), Emma (2009 and both '90s versions), Oliver Twist (the old BBC one and 2005), etc...
I'm going to leave to go to a play in a few minutes. It's a Tomi DePaula story, we're going for my younger siblings. So tootles
Mortereve all!!
Hurray, the Saints won the Superbowl! Who else watched it? What did you all think of the game?
That depends on whether you're referring to the sugar saturated chocolate candy or the natural cocoa. We always make our hot chocolate out of cocoa powder. It tastes better that way (and is healthy).
But the sugary chocolate is yummy too, despite its unhealthiness...
So, there are two kinds of chocolate, the healthy and the unhealthy, and they both taste good (but the unhealthy tastes better, I imagine), correct? Well there you go, your argument that its healthiness is a reason to eat chocolate is irrelevant.
*sigh* I give up...
![]()
Don't feel bad, you've got just about everyone else in the world on your side of the argument.
Lol, that's okay. I've only read a little SciFi. It's definitely not my favorite genre of books. It really depends on the author in the end...
I see. Well, I still think I would like it a lot.
Now that you describe it, I have heard of Lazarus before. My computer doesn't have it though. It's really old and I'm afraid it'll die if I try and update anything on it...I'll have to talk to my dad the computer whiz of our family.
![]()
Ah, I figured you'd heard of it. Oh don't worry, you won't have to update or change anything. This is just a small little add-on for Firefox (if that's the browser you use). I assure you, this won't make it die. Anyway, if you don't lose posts often, there's not too much point in getting this.
[...]the evil guy (Forgot his name...
)[...]
Ian Howe was his name in the movie. That's one of the reasons I like the first movie better than the second—much better villain!
Are you sure, NN95/Micah/NN/Nut, (
) my dad said the second wasn't as good as the first. But I'll see when I watch it.
Lol. In my opinion, the second is very close to being just as good. In fact, for a while, I thought it was better. But, it's all a matter of opinion.
Cool about the group newsletter, NN, and that you're designing each issue.
Thanks for your PM.
![]()
Yes, it's quite fun. And thanks for the reply.
Nutty! Hey man, how's it going? Yeah, no kidding; cold-snaps are "cool".
Oh wow, I can't blame you for enjoying your "cheater's way" of surviving the power outage.
My Grandparents were staying with us when we had no power, which wasn't good, since Grandma was going to have hip surgery that week....not so fond memories, I guess. =]
*whispers*: Chocolate is GUTE! (Jack Sparrow imitation of "Rum is GUTE!") LOL!
It's going fantastiwondersplendibulous. (Not really, I just felt the urge to make up a new word.) Indeed, it was quite an enjoyable ice storm, the way we survived it. Ooh, now yours doesn't sound fun at all.
No, chocolate is not gute! (Whatever that means...)
*thanks Poggin for agreeing with her against NN that chocolate is just too good to have room to be bad*
![]()
Umm, I think just about everybody in the world would agree with you Jojo. But that doesn't make you right!
Narnia Girl, that's great that you finally saw NT2!!! And, you liked it even better than the first? I did, too, when I first saw it, but after I watched the first one again, I've decided the first was (slightly) better.
Ahh, I see, NN95. Back a couple years ago in school, I had a book with a bunch of short stories for literature too. It was kinda annoying.
Yeah, it would seem like it would only be in elementary school or something. It's not too annoying, there's a lot of good stuff in the book.
*is in love with Lazarus* It was Lady_Liln who poked me about it
Indeed, indeed. It's kind of funny... I went on vacation, and it was then that I discovered Lazarus. Well, while I was away from the Square, LL discovered it, too, and we both started introducing it to people at the same time. Since then, we've gotten almost most everyone in the Square to use it.
@ NN. Yeah, that's about the gist of it.
We always get the promise of snow, but never snow except for the blizzard of 93.
Pretty much in order of my favorite on down. Granted, that lineup could change within the next month... or week... or few days. If I had written the list a year ago, I would have put the CR as number one, but after getting more soundtracks, they have gone down on my top 5 list. Their still amazing works, though.
Aye, it took me several years to get all 3. I bought TTT, then FotR and finally RotK. RotK kept going "out of stock" from the two websites I buy from.
Finally got my hands on it, though.
![]()
Ah, gotcha. That's too bad.
I completely understand that. So, is it correct to say that, right now, Alien is your absolute favorite? At least until you hear a better one or your opinion changes?
Yeah, I'll bet. Any particular reason you got them out of order? Which one is your favorite? Ooh, what websites do you buy from? Wonder why RotK was going out of stock. Anyway, I'm glad you got them all! And, sorry for all the questions.
Thanks! It's really good to be back! I've missed you guys.
(sorry, I might read them at some point... but you can forget me commenting on them. I can't even comment on stuff said NOW!)
Quite welcome, good to have you.
lol, I wouldn't expect you to even bother reading any of it. I sure wouldn't!
They're actors from some of my fave movies (and shows) growing up, and I could really picture them as characters in my novel. By this time, I've stopped thinking of them as actors, and they've pretty much come to life in my head as these boys. So, they are: Tony, Matt, Charlie, Kev, and Riks. Nothing more, nothing less. Sorry.
![]()
Ok, I figured they were actors that you thought would make good fits for your characters. Yeah, I can quite understand that they come alive to you.
Glad you liked the second NT, Pebbles. Why is it sad when

I'd like you to know that I'm using Firefox and Lazarus just this moment and will continue to do so, since my computer and IE are in a fight, apparently. >.> ^.^ (Edit: and I saved this post with Lazarus. W00t!)
Yay, good for you! But you weren't earlier when you mentioned you lost a post. That taught you a lesson!
Mhm, that's true. Although, most of the time here, it's exhaustion. But, somehow we find time and strength to... Then and birthdays are the only time we decorate the house, so it doesn't happen too often, thankfully.
*tries understanding that...got it*Yeah. And this year seems to be going by really quick, so that's an upside to the inevitable sadness when a fun event stops.
Thanks! How did your tests go then? Yep, that's what's been happening...And most of the time, if I forget to dot an i in Grammer or English, I get 99.50% =| But as long as I get an A/A+ average for the first two terms, and then the last two, I suppose I don't beat myself up about it too much.
Our church is pretty big, but then we do have the problems that big churches normally face, such as not quite so much closeness, but it does have positive sides, of course.
LOL. I accidentally wrote "Soy" when the native said "Estoy", and I did mean to write the latter but the former accidentally came out. I beg for forgiveness!![]()
All right, I guessed what you said right, but how did I speak in the masculine form of the verb?! I double, triple (would that make it quintuple checked?) that I had it in the right form, but I guess I didn't.What went wrong?
For plays, I've been in two for Children's Choir at church. They were a series, and in the first I was one of the main girls who was cast as an angel in the nativity story; in the second I was a character who had to be turned into a girl who was cast as a cow in the nativity scene. What a contrast.![]()
In the former I got to be ignorant and distracted, which was fun. ^_^
And then of course, there's acting class where we perform stories that classmates have written. Last year we did, and this year too, the oldest group (which I'm in) are going to perform the show the way the actors/teachers do it, so that might count for some sort of performance/play (which is mostly comedy).
Yes, sadly, he does. Heh, that must've been fun for him!Although, I imagine acting a dramatic dying scene would be funner than acting out a silent, solemn one (the way
).SpoilerJohn Brooke diesUnless it's really sad and you can capture the audience magnificently... =]
Definitely so.The original ending of the book is sweet, but but
makes it feel a little empty.SpoilerBeth gone
Yessir, that's the most recent, I believe. I really liked the casting in that one (except for Beth's casting and Laurie's. Christian Bale isn't the ideal Laurie, IMO.And Mr. Brooke's casting, for that matter! =S ) I do enjoy watching that version, but it has some differences from the book that I didn't like much. Laurie's character differences especially bothered me.
Well, we don't get exhausted easily. It's just that we have so much to do every day, there's no time to decorate. We don't decorate any time but Christmas.
Glad you got it. Right, time goes by so quickly that's it's easy to move from one thing to another.
That was so long ago, I don't even remember what tests I was referring to, but I assume they went well. You get points off for not dotting an i? Wow. I would flunk every test if I got points off for messy handwriting. Haha, sometimes a number grade sounds word than the corresponding letter grade, eh?
Yeah, I figured that! Mmm, I love going to a small church, because I know everybody by name and everybody is good friends with everyone else. What are some positive sides of a big church (just curious)?
Ah, you are forgiven. We shall say that, instead of getting to two Spanish verbs mixed up, you simply forgot what the native said. How does that sound?
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Verbs do not, absolutely do NOT have masculine and feminine forms! [/outburst] And, actually, quadruple comes after double and triple. Now that we've got that out of the way... you wrote everything right except for the verb, and you understood what I said, so good job!
You got to play a cow? Awesome. I got to play sheep and such when I was in the children's Christmas programs, but I don't count those when counting the plays I've been in. Especially since I hardly remember any of those programs. I don't think I'd like acting class, and I'd never want to be an actor professionally.
In the last play in which my friend died, you only hear that his character died. But in the first play, he got to have a hart attack right on stage. Aw,
Ok, I thought it was. It's funny, because, as I was watching the movie, I thought Christian Bale made a great Laurie. Maybe I'd think otherwise if I read the book and saw the other movie adaptions. Which version would you recommend?
*checks little box next to reminder* Did that today.
It's a relief to see things actually go faster.
Good for you! Two thumbs up! Do you happen to remember what version you were upgrading from?
Yes you did! You...Oh, bother, what did you do? You're making me look like an idiot.... *sigh*
(Um, I think I just did.)
I did? Dear me, I most certainly did not! Haha, you look like an idiot, say you. Mission accomplished. (Totally kidding. )
(Then I shall rephrase that. You can't deny it and be honest about it.)
Yes, I know, I'm such a wonderful, amazing person, and modest, too!

No, you're not!
No, you didn't!
No, I didn't!
No, bad!
That makes two of us.
Yes I am!
Yes, I did!
Yes, you did!
No, good!
Indeed it does... I'm clueless.
(Nice to see that in your sig, NN/Aiden.

Oh, that's right! I'd forgotten about that. (As you can guess, I rarely change any of that... )
One of the not-so-great things about homeschooling: even in bad weather, school isn't cancelled.

True, but then you don't have to make up days at the end of the year.

)
Didn't you know that's all planned out. Wait, was I not supposed to tell you that?
I love all the stories in the Square of people getting tons of snow that rarely get any. Global warming, where are you?
Glenstorm the Great, welcome to the Square! Seems like you're fitting right in! Hope you enjoy it around here.
Well! The Square is moving quite along! This is the longest post I've made in quite a while. It's so great to see a bunch of people come back to the Square that haven't been in a while. Well, I'm off for today. Mortereve all!

Time for a catchup post! It's been quite a few pages...
How are things going with you Susan?
Great! My birthday was yesterday, and our whole family went bowling, which was a lot of fun, even if I didn't win.
How are ya?
Oh, and I'll send a hug for good measure:
![]()
Stupendous! *laugh* Thank you! Yesterday for my birthday I went out to eat for breakfast with my Dad to "Cracker Barrel", which is pretty much my favorite restaurant.
Congrats on 1000 posts!!! Though I do believe I'm a bit late.
Oh dear, I miss so many birthdays when I'm absent for so long. A very late one to Jealous of the Moon!!!
So, yesterday, I made myself comfortable, placed my laptop atop the table, and typed up some exciting bit of a catchup post, but then as verily soon as I hit "Submit", I was directed to a page telling me I must indeed log in to post. *sniffsniff's*
Aw, that's sad.
I've had that happen when I use Safari sometimes... So I try to stick with Firefox.
Lady Courage: Ooh, I hear you started violin? How is that going? I just had my 12th lesson or something.
How are you?
Very well indeed! And you? This Friday we're having a big group of people over to our house just for a "Game night" or something... So I'm looking forward to that. What's new for you?
Very random but I just found out Nickel Creek recorded a Cowboy-ish CD when they were younger, which featured Sons of the Pioneers/Roy Rogers/Gene Autry songs! Hah, very cool!
Neat-o! That's pretty cool. I love Roy Rogers too.
I just decided that I terribly miss everyone, and so would come in and look around and see if anyone was about and wanted to risk talking to me.
Yay! I do!!! I also need to reply to your PM...
*pokes her head in, just returned from "Cheaper by the Dozen" rehearsal* Two weeks until opening night!
Ooh, are you part of it? Are you a main character? What is this all about?
I don't have the time to catchup at this exact moment, but I did want to come in and wish the hugest of huge Happy Birthday's to Queen Susan!!!
I hope you are having a smashing day, and you know we're all thinking of you with lots of good wishes and love!
Aw, thanks so much, Destined!! Love you!
*waves to Ti'ana and Princess Anna*
But, do allow me to ask how you're doing?
Quite well, thank you!!! My school is all finished for the day, so now I just have to practice piano and violin, scrapbook, plan the next two weeks w/ Mom, reply to a few letters and emails and PMs, and maybe catchup on a few blogs as well...
It wouldn't hurt me to do some Laundry either... Back to school and work after my "day off" ....
Belated 3rd anniversary to Johobbit!!
Hope it's a mahvelous day, dahling!
Do you think you might be as awed over your cake as this wee tyke?
(Thanks to Aravanna who, waaay back, introduced us to this pic.)
That's a hilarious picture!! And thanks so much for the birthday wishes, they were greatly appreciated! And it's so nice to see you around the square again too!!!
I would like to wish a Happy Birthday to Queen Susan!! I hope you have a wonderful day, and many more to come!

Welcome to the square, Glenstorm the Great!!
And I do believe that's it... Our internet was down for about a week, so I can kind of blame my tardiness on that. Hopefully next time I won't stay away so long.

Let's see, Su² had a birthday! Many happy returns of the day!
jo had her three year anniversary here. I know I've said it before, but it seems like you've been here longer than that and it's so wonderful to have you around. (When you and Cor were talking about you being one of the Eldest, I had the funniest mental picture of you wearing a bright pink elven robe and eating lembas. I am easily amused.
)
I'm doing well, Ruby. I'm glad to hear that you can still be involved in dance.
*envies PA her mental pictures of her characters* Mine always have a sort of vague appearance, which makes it hard to describe them, and maybe a bit hard to make them distinct. I have a huge appreciation for authors who can juggle large casts of characters without leaving any standing around awkwardly.
NN, I know how you feel about cookies. I'm not much of a cake person, myself.
I hope you're feeling better, Jojo.
*is a remiss member of the Manalive conspiracy, since she still hasn't read the book* Um, oops?
And I was ridiculously pleased to see all the familiar faces posting again.

*strolls into the Square listening to "Holy Highway" by the GVB and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound* Snowing again! We're supposed to get 7 to 14 inches on top of the 30 inches that we already had.
Great.
We went to Red Lobster for lunch today. The roads are NOT very well cleared. I worked on rereading Circles of Seven by Bryan Davis...love that book. On to ketchup!
Ruby, yeah, family reunions are always lots of fun! It's a perfect time to see family members and everything again.
Have you gotten any more snow?
The Torch, glad you're doing well!
So I hear Djaq is at your sister's to help take care of the babies?
Johobbit, yes, the snow has been so beautiful! We have a large yard, and the snow looks so gorgeous and sparkly! And nearly every evening we have several of deer walking through our yard (we live near the woods). They look so funny wading through the snow - we love watching them.
EP, what've you been up to lately? Anything exciting going on?
Winter, sounds good. Shannon Hale is pretty well-known for her books, so your library might have some.
PA, yeah, I hate it when I miss church. It's one of my favorite days of the week.
Haha, yeah! The Square is always slow on weekends. Always confused me, too.
*waves to Glenstorm the Great* Howdy! Welcome to the Square - great to have you around! How are you?
Pebbles, yup, I liked NT2 better than the first. Yeah - Riley really was cracking tons of jokes.
I love the part when they're at Buckingham Palace and Ben and Abigail were making a scene, and once they were done Riley said, "That...was brilliant."
Hmm...I think I have to admit that I liked the evil guy better in N21. He just seemed to be more bad guy-ish than Mitch was, if you know what I mean. You?
NN95, yeah, I aboslutely adored NT2! I was so glad to finally get to see it. I loooved the part when they were at Buckingham Palace looking at the Resolute Desk. And it was so awesome when Ben and Abigail started making a scene...hilarious.
Happy belated birthday, Queen Susan! I'm sorry I missed that. How was your special day?

That's good! I'm doing well. That sounds fun! Nothing much..Actually, I started piano lessons today. That was ok, but my fingers are weird and won't behave. Seriously, one of my fingers (my pinky) is messed up on both hands so it's kinda hard to hold it right. Stupid fingers.
Sorry, I'm rambling.

Hurray, the Saints won the Superbowl! Who else watched it? What did you all think of the game?
I watched it with lots of friends, and thought it was a pretty entertaining, competitive game, at least until that 4th quarter interception iced it for the Saints. A few of the commercials were amusing.
So, there are two kinds of chocolate, the healthy and the unhealthy, and they both taste good (but the unhealthy tastes better, I imagine), correct? Well there you go, your argument that its healthiness is a reason to eat chocolate is irrelevant.
Actually, I prefer the healthy kind (dark chocolate). But it's true that chocolate should be enjoyed in moderation (I'm still working on that )
Our 3-day winter storm is finally winding down, though it's not nearly as big as the one out East. We only added about 10 inches to our total.
It's been cloudy for about a week, and I'm looking forward to seeing the sun and stars again, maybe as soon as tomorrow night. But cooler weather is coming in with the clear skies - about 5 below zero F - but it can still get a lot colder than that here this time of year, so no complaints!.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Thanks for the welcomes everyone
I just got back from a book appraisal event at my library a little a while ago. I brought a ton of older books I had found at my local book swap but all of them were unfortunately kinda worthless (the guy said they were only worth a few dollars )...
I'm not just sad about that either, I wasn't aware the Superbowl was on Sunday (I'm kinda a football fan but my parents don't like to watch it so they hide the date from me
) so obviously I missed it. And I wanted to watch it

*Hello there! Nice to meet you. *
@ Pels. Actually, Mom brought home the first NT DVD today. Sooo, I'll be watching some of it tonight.
The new FB is odd, but not that terrible. Wait, you have a FB?! Wait, did you tell us this before or not?
@ NN. Yes, Alien is my top favorite at the moment. My feelings on the score are well summoned up in my review of it. *shameless self promotion here * I have a feeling I'll need to change my top five after I buy the three soundtracks I'm eyeing.....
If I remember correctly I really liked TTT at the time, so I bought that one first. Then I got FotR and had to wait for RotK to be released. RotK all the way for my favorite! It's the one score that benefits greatly from a complete release (the single disc album never did the score justice). Also, it has all the themes from the trilogy played at their best.
Amazon.com and screenarchives.com. I highly recommend the latter website for ANY soundtrack fan. They have a large collection of used and rare scores plus they have their own record label for releasing old, rare scores. They also have good prices and great customer service.
@ QueenSu. Aye, that it does. Welcome! Glad you had a good one.

Hi Cor (and Vern ) . You can call me GtG or Ali
Morning,all!
@Gtg: Aw,I'm sorry you missed it. It was fun. The commercial's were great too. My favorite was the one that played "Dream Police" by Cheap Trick(they changed the lyrics to "Green Police" 'cause the commercial was promoting eco-friendly products.) My pastor couldn't believe I knew it.
Lots of people wish I'd stop mentioning it.
(Psst! Check out my blog! I indirectly mentioned you in it! )
I've been working on a story lately, and I've made pretty good progress, but I'm still not satisfied. I'm overly critical on my writing,so it's a wonder I'm even made so much progress.
Me and my lil sis have been wanting to see Sherlock Holmes, but with all the snow we've been getting,it's just not possible right now. I've also got her interested in Bright Star. I read pluggedin.com's review on it last night, and I'm really excited about it. But the snow is keeping us from that at the moment. My youth group's enjoying this though 'cause they get out of school.
Lucky them.
And aside from that,I've been doing extremely random stuff, like singing Phantom of the Opera songs, and quoting poetry.
