*waves to those around*
I hope I didn't miss anything directed at me, because I skimmed.

Anyway...
1) Don't really wanna talk about last night. (as my mood is better today, and don't wanna spoil it)
2) I just hung out with my church's youth group for their annual SuperBowl party!! It was really fun! (even though I don't understand, or care for football. it was funny to watch my friends yell though... watching peoples emotions can really help writers. :D and interesting to watch friends be rooting for opposite teams... see, most were rooting for the Colts.. but some for the Saints. Got quite interesting at times. :)) )

How are all of you? What did you do for the SuperBowl? (if anything at all)

Sorry if this post seems jumbled... my brain is all haywire at the moment. 8-|

I also got together with friends for the game tonight. It was kind of fun to watch everybody, as we had a range of people from diehard football fans to people who had no idea of what was going on. But it's all good; there was plenty of food and conversation, and there were lots of little kids running around keeping things interesting for those who didn't watch the game. And we had people cheering for both the Colts and the Saints, so at least a few were bound to be pleased with the outcome. ;)

Some of us felt old, since we recognized the songs The Who played at halftime. ;))

That rather silly Bud Light commercial with the incoming asteroid and dancing astronomers featured Dr Chang from the Lost Dharma Initiative orientation videos.

Getting home was interesting, as the roads were like skating rinks in a few spots (up to a foot of snow is on its way, beginning this evening).

I know! It seems like all the mods. up and abandon us, here in the square, for the most part.

I heard that. ;)

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Flam, ooo, a mandolin! Can you play anything on it? Is there any possibility of us being able to hear it? (I think Djaq has posted a YouTube piano video before. . .) Not to pressure you or anything, but I find mandolins and such interesting, because one doesn't come across them very often. Is Oscar ever misbehaved or is he a good mandolin? ;)

*waves back and sends a hug*

Ed P, you got a job? May I ask what it is? Do you enjoy it?

PA, when I go to Super Bowl parties, watching those who get into the game is my favorite part. :p

Gazer, glad you got home safely. I love the snow, but I do hate driving when the roads are bad.

*pouts that the Colts lost, but the Saints were admirable opponents and I'm glad the won, while at the same time upset* (does that make any sense?) 8-} ;))

I need to get to sleep. Sweet dreams and God bless, all my dear Square Onions.

*dashes into the Square singing "We Need Each Other" by Ernie Haase and Signature Sound* Hello all! Well, church was canceled yesterday because of all the snow. :( Last night my dad was watching the football Super Bowl/kickoff whatever it is. Boooring (no offense to any football fans in the Square ;)) ). Anyway, I'm not sure whether or not I'll be having piano lessons today. Depends on whether or not the streets are cleared enough. *shrugs* Anyway, on to ketchup.

*waves back to Bella* Hey, nice to see you drop in again! Sounds like you had fun at the Winter Retreat! That icecream you had for dessert sounds really good. :x

Ruby, yup, it sure was a lot of snow! You should see the squirrels trying to get to our birdfeeder. They practically sink into the snow. ;))
Sweet! July birthdays are awesome. :D We usually have a family reunion at an amusement park near the end of July, and we celebrate my birthday then - it's lots of fun. :)

PA, my story is about a girl who was born with red eyes, and she runs away from her house when enemies pursue her, and then at the end of the book, she finally finds out why she has red eyes. It's not much yet, but I'm getting there...

Winter, Shannon Hale has also written a book series called The Books of Bayern, which I absolutely LOVE, and she's also written Book of a Thousand Days, which was pretty good, and she and her husband have written two graphic novels together - Rapunzel's Revenge, and its sequel, Calamity Jack. She's really talented. :)

*waves furiously to LL* It's wonderful to see you around again!

*squeals* The Torch! How have you been?
I'm kinda competitive at times too, so that would probably help me finish NaNo if I did it next year too. ;))

EP, happy early birthday! :D Oh, yours is on Valentine's Day? That's cool! My cousin's birthday is just a day after Valentine's Day.

*exits the Square listening to "Sundays Are Made For Times Like These* by Ernie Haase and Signature Sound* Oh my...that is such a great song. Doug Anderson is amazing in it.

Hmm...that song is an interesting contrast to the current weather. It's snowing yet again! This is the third snow storm we've had this winter! :-o I'm beginning to think that the world is coming to an end...

@ Ruby. Thanks! Oh? I have not heard this. Pray, do enlighten me on the subject....

Lol, you've obviously led a very sheltered life. But then again, it makes sense that these facts are not widely known, because if they were no one would want to take the test. ;) :P

I actually haven't really heard of people dying in tests like that (though I probably will), but I have heard that they're very difficult.

Practically, ages. ;)

Yeah and it might be even longer thanks to this wretched snow storm...

*runs to give flambeau a hug* So good to see you on the square! Where have you been these days? ;) :P

Edmund P! How nice of you to finally show your face around here. ;) Winter's been telling me that I need to read the Percy Jackson series, but I'm already reading Stephen R. Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle. *sighs* I really, really can't wait for school to be over and I have more reading time...

How are all of you? What did you do for the SuperBowl? (if anything at all)

Hehe. I'm in the group of people who didn't do anything for the super bowl. :P Sounds like your youth group had fun. :) Lol and don't worry about a jumbled post. Mine are always jumbled. ;)

I know! It seems like all the mods. up and abandon us, here in the square, for the most part.

I heard that. ;)

*chuckles*

Could that possibly be Lady Liln I am seeing on the square?? :-o Where have you been all this time?

And what is this about flam having a mandolin?

Ruby, yup, it sure was a lot of snow! You should see the squirrels trying to get to our birdfeeder. They practically sink into the snow. ;))

*can't help but laugh when envisioning the squirrels trying to get to NG's bird feeder* :)

Sweet! July birthdays are awesome. :D We usually have a family reunion at an amusement park near the end of July, and we celebrate my birthday then - it's lots of fun. :)

Oh! That does sound like lots of fun!! Family reunions are the best. :)

Aaand...I think that's all for now! I hope you all have a lovely day!

God bless!

First off, I would like to wish a Happy Birthday to Queen Susan!! I hope you have a wonderful day, and many more to come! :)

*waves to Ed P., stargazer, and Princess Anna*

Flam, ooo, a mandolin! Can you play anything on it? Is there any possibility of us being able to hear it? (I think Djaq has posted a YouTube piano video before. . .) *waves back and sends a hug*

At the moment, I can play a few hymns, and I'm learning another song that is fun to play (really hokey though! ;)) ).
Um, I don't know! I might be able to do a video at some point, but it'll probably be a while before I know something I'd want to record. ;)) I'd like to though!
They are very fun instruments! I'm really enjoying learning how to play it! :)
Nope, he hasn't! Oscar is a very well behaved mandolin! ;) :P I took some pictures of him the other day, I'll probably post one soon.
*sends a hug back*

*squeals* The Torch! How have you been?
I'm kinda competitive at times too, so that would probably help me finish NaNo if I did it next year too. ;))

Heya NG!! I've been doing quite well, thank you!
Very good! :) I hope you do!

*runs to give flambeau a hug* So good to see you on the square! Where have you been these days? ;) :P

*gives a hug back to Dani* Thank you! It's good to be back around here! :)
;)) I have been bouncing around between Fan Art, Non-Narnian, and answering PM's, as well as doing graphic requests ( ;) )!

And what is this about flam having a mandolin?

I am the proud owner of a F style mandolin named Oscar. ;) :) My brother and I have started taking mandolin lessons, and so I bought a mandolin recently, and I love it! :) That pretty much sums it up!

Am I caught up already? Wow, that was short!
I'm heading out! Have a wonderful mortereve all!

Hey ho!

*skims quickly over the past couple of pages*

Narnia Girl, I can just imagine the beauty of your snowfall. *dreams* Btw, your story sounds really exciting. Red eyes, eh? *speculates*

*encourages PrinceCor to watch the two National Treasure movies sometime soon* They're just lotsa ... fun! (Particularly Riley. :p )

Winter! I just want to assure you that most of us mods are not abandoning the dear Square. We may be off and on, but hopefully we won't disappear completely. As the saying goes "Once a SquareOnion, always a SquareOnion". (Nice to see that in your sig, NN/Aiden. ;)))

*waves to Bella* Loverly to see you again. :D

Aha, my poking worked: Lady_Liln's popped in. :D Glad to hear you're doing well, albeit busy! Keep persevering. It's really cool you are still involved with swimming ventures! ♥

flam! You haven't been in here in a long time, either? Well, welcome back, from one who has barely returned, herself. And you're without Djaq for another week. :( It's special you two are so close! And I love the name of your mandolin. What fun you're taking lessons! Oh yes, I think we'd all rather like to see a photo of Oscar. :D

Edmund P! Great to see you as well. Sounds like you're having an interesting time between school, work, reading, writing ... Ah, it's Chris Colombus who is directing The Lightning Thief? He did the first two Harry Potter, didn't he? I'm hoping this will be a great movie. (Haven't read the book yet, though. ) I saw the trailer before Avatar last night and it looked intriguing. ...

As for Avatar, it was the scenery that drew me in: spectacular. The storyline was rather predictable and I somehow can't understand why such mammoth hoopla is being made over the film. I mean, it's good and all, but still ... :p Much moreso did I appreciate the films we watched on our Friday evening movie night (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Valkyrie (sorry, James Cameron), 'though, to be fair, they are in a very different category, genre-wise. And yes, I had way too many cream puffs, lol.

The snow that you're getting, stargazer, looks to be (partially) coming our way tomorrow night through Wednesday, although the forecast is only for half a foot, if that, rather than a whole 12". (Drat! :p )

Three storms this winter so far, Ruby? That's sure more than we've had ... very unusual for us. *weeps*

I didn't watch the Superbowl (no interest), but Nellie went down to her aunt's place with my hubby and they had fun down there for the evening. Mind you, Nellie played games with her grandma and aunt, while the guys watched the game. ;))

And finally ... a very wonderful birthday to Queen Susan! Hope it's a mahvelous day, dahling! Do you think you might be as awed over your cake as this wee tyke? :)) (Thanks to Aravanna who, waaay back, introduced us to this pic.)

P.S. Listening to The Roar of Love album over the weekend. It really is timeless. Then, so is Narnia. :x Some of those songs still make tears well up in my eyes and cause my arms to break out in goosebumps. And the harmonies ... so close and pure.

*Cor and Vern enter the Square, glad to be away from the racket at the Royal House*

Well, we're getting a new roof today. :) After getting some hale damage late last year, we decided to get a new roof. The roofers have been banging, stomping and hammering above us all day. Kind of hard to concentrate when there is so much noise.... :(

Anyway, that's the latest development with us. Oh yeah, my grandmother came home from rehab yesterday and is doing splendidly! :D I'm not sure if I mentioned it or not, but she had to go in and have another knee replacement about 4 weeks ago. The surgery and rehab went very well and now she's home. :)

O.K, time for catching-up:

*starts listening to Man with a Harmonica from "Once upon a Time in the West".....*

-------------------------

@ Winter. Unfortunately, I only get off days if 1. I'm sick, 2. Mom is off from work or 3. it's a holiday. One of the not-so-great things about homeschooling: even in bad weather, school isn't cancelled. ;) :p

True, Vern comes in handy for things like that as well as being a very proper dragon. :)

*Why, thank you most kindly, Cor! I'll have to take back all those things I've said about you....*

Wha?!? :-o

@ LL. LL!!! Sooo good to see you're still around! I hope you can stop by again real soon. :D

@ Flam. "How rude!" C3PO, Empire Strikes Back.

I hope you manage not having Djaq around. That would be a sad thing indeed.... :-s *sends a Flam's way*

@ Ruby. Sheltered? No, not really. I just don't get out much. :p Anyway, it was surprisingly not that difficult, except for math.

Sooo, how are you doing? Are you sick of snow yet? ;)

@ Jo. I've seen the beginning of NT on TV, but would get distracted by another movie that I would run across during commercial breaks. I'll have to see if our library has them. :)

Speaking of James Cameron films: The only movie of his that I've seen and thought it lived up to (if not surpassed) all the hype around it is..... Aliens. Not really a movie to recommend to everyone (it is rated-R after all....), but it was an amazing Sci-fi/action/horror film. :D Granted, I watched it on TV, so most of the F-words were muted out of the film and probably some of the gore was cut.

Aaannnddd, before I forget.................. HAPPY BIRTHDAY QueenSusan!!!!!!!!!! :D/ :D Here on NW I can actually do it right with emoticons and all. ;)

---------------------------------

Alright, that gets everything. :) Hope everyone has a good Monday evening! And try to stay warm!!!! ;)

*Cor and Vern exit the Square*

Avvie by the great Djaq!

Well, well, look who's back today! I quite surprise myself sometimes! I managed to find a few extra minutes and thought I'd pop back in to the Square!

Lady_Liln: Yes! I've had this job for...oh, 24-25 months at least. Yes, I quite like it! I'll PM you if you really care to know what it is. I don't feel like sharing it with the other folks presently, if you understand :) .

Narnia Girl: Thanks! Yes, it's on St. Valentines day! Oh, neat :) !

Dani: I know! I haven't been in here in at least a month! You really should read the Percy Jackson series. It's fantastic. I actually just finished re-reading the first one today. Now I'm on the Demigod Files. It's a bunch of other stories that aren't in the books. Pretty good, thus far.

*Waves back to flam*

Johobbit: Yes, a very interesting time indeed :) ! Yes, that's correct. Yup! he did direct the first two HP films. Ah, you really should read it. Oh, I watched The Boy in Striped Pajamas two weekends ago! A very well done film. Yet, extremely sad :( .

See you guys around! Have a great mortereve :-h !

I met Georgie and Skandar AND saw the film in one evening.

Hello all! *Waves*

Lady_Liln!!!

I'm glad to hear it!
Teeheehee!! Really? I was not aware of that! ;))

:) How have you been?
Yup.

I heard that. ;)

lol, I just meant the non-Ditto Town mods. As in: Jo, flam, Djaq, Valia, Destined, and the like...

Ok, cool. I'll have to keep my eyes open for those books then. :)

Yeah and it might be even longer thanks to this wretched snow storm...

Snowstorm?! Snowstorm??!! That measly half-inch that melted already? A snowstorm??!!

Winter! I just want to assure you that most of us mods are not abandoning the dear Square. We may be off and on, but hopefully we won't disappear completely. As the saying goes "Once a SquareOnion, always a SquareOnion". (Nice to see that in your sig, NN/Aiden. ;)))

Yeah, that is one down-side to homeschooling. :p Fortunately for me, I take two classes for homeschoolers, so when that's cancelled I take the whole day off. :)

See y'all!

I must say, you lot are a quiet bunch on weekends! :-o
Which confuses me a great deal. For back when I was still in school, weekends were the days I had much more time to spend on here with you! (during the week was homework, and extracurricular activities, etc) It's been dull as tombs around here! COME BACK!! (figures you lot would be gone whenever I'm available and bored, but when I have lots of stuff to do, or new episodes of my shows to watch... tada! there you are. I hate that! :)) )

Any rate, down to business...
First off, have any of you heard of the movie To Save a Life? (or whatever it's called?) I'm gonna see it with the youth on wednesday night. It looks interesting, but I don't know what to expect. Should be fun to go to the movies with that bunch, though! ;))

PA, my story is about a girl who was born with red eyes, and she runs away from her house when enemies pursue her, and then at the end of the book, she finally finds out why she has red eyes. It's not much yet, but I'm getting there...

Sounds fascinating! ;)

Sorry you had to miss church. :(
If it makes you feel any better, I missed sunday school cause I overslept. (so wasn't ready in time) I got there in time for the service, though. Anyway, all that is to say I understand.

Hehe. I'm in the group of people who didn't do anything for the super bowl. :p Sounds like your youth group had fun. :) Lol and don't worry about a jumbled post. Mine are always jumbled. ;)

Yep, lots of fun! It still never ceases to amaze me that they want me around. (since I graduated high school in '02) ;)) But we have fun, and are like a close-knit family of sorts.

Really? Yours always seem very coherent to me. :p

I know...It's just a lot of people who used to post here all the time quit after becoming mods, elsewhere. :(

And then there is me, who gets sidetracked with so many things... and is a procrastinator, and lurker. So, even when I got moved from DT to FA (mod-job-wise), I still kept the same habits. Odd, now that I think of it, I spent more time in here when I was still in school (and first joined), than I do now when I have loads of time. Huh... weird. Then again, when did I ever claim that I was normal?! =))

...............
I hope I didn't miss anything! But, I think I got it all. I'll be around for a few more hours, I should think. I'd love to chat, if anyone stops by! *settles down for a chat with Bob Saget and Abe Lincoln to pass the time til the others pass through*

Welcome to Ditto Town, Glenstorm the Great!

Don't worry, we don't bite. ;)
Yes, you have managed to stumble upon the part of Narniaweb where you can talk about anything and everything! You still have to follow the forum rules, of course... but that's easy. This is the place where you can get to know your fellow Narniawebbers a bit better, become closer friends... so that you feel like family. I hope you like it here!

I know it can seem confusing and overwhelming at first, but you'll get the hang of it. You can either start your own conversation, or jump into one already going. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

By the way, haven't I seen you in the Non-Narnian graphics thread?
