*sticks her head in for just a little moment*

A wee wee little birdie told me that today is somebody's third anniversary here... and it just happens to be our beloved...

Congratulations on 3 marvelous years, may you have many more, & thanks for all you do around here! (I hope you know who you are...)

I shall return for catchup later. *departs*

*wanders into the square and sits beside the fountain to have a moment of thought to herself*

Last night was my final official Irish dance class. It was strange coming back to the small dance room with all the familiar faces that I had missed for several weeks. I certainly didn't know what to expect when I went in there. And I definitely wasn't expecting what happened next.

Nothing really had been planned, or if anything had been planned my sisters and I certainly hadn't been informed about it. It was all sort of last minute.

We arrived, strapped on our hard shoes, and then began dancing all our favorite old dances. Gypsy, break out, treble reel special. I was surprised to see how much all the younger students had advanced. My two sisters and I, who apparently were the guests of honor (I was not informed about that either) were led out into the lobby where cookies and lemonade were set up. We were seated and then presented with the loveliest scrapbook I have ever seen. It was bound and put together by three girls in our dance class. In it were pictures and memories of all of our performances. The girls had put them together and written beautiful notes all over the pages. One note especially touched me. It said: Dani, what I like about you is that even if you fall down, no matter what, you will always keep going on. I remembered the girl who wrote this. When I slipped and fell on the stage at the competition, she came up and gave me a chocolate and a hug. The note continued, You always are there for us. I always felt safe and ready when holding your hands. Thanks for all you've done for me. I learned a lot from you, both in dance and in attitude.

Just goes to show that you never know what kind of an influence you have upon people. I was so glad for last night, because more than anything I didn't just want to leave my dance class like that without saying good bye.

And, turns out, I probably won't be leaving them. Both of my teacher's assistant teachers are leaving this spring and she said she'll probably need my help. :) Also, she said that we were welcome to make a "guest appearance" in any of the performances. So, I'm not leaving after all. I don't think I'll ever be able to leave, really.

And that's the end of my ramble. *gapes back at the ginormous lenght of her post* Hmm. It could be worse.

That's all for now! I'll drop back in later to make a catch-up post of some sort.

God bless!

Just wanted to stop by and let everyone know that the ACT test went well this morning. Wont know how well I did for about three weeks ( :-ss ) but I think I did pretty well. :)

Thanks to all who wished me luck!

A catch-up post will be in order later today. ;)

Glad the test went well, PrinceCor!

...Those LOST writers delve into almost every area and wangle so many references into the show, don't they? (Not that I've ever seen it. Well, actually, I watched a tad of one of the first ever episodes, and didn't really care for it so haven't tried again. I'm thinking I might enjoy it more as it progresses.)

I know what you mean. It's one of those shows where some the individual episodes may not make much sense, or stand out as exceptional on their own; they're more like threads in a larger tapestry. The only way to really enjoy it is to start from the beginning and watch as the tapestry unfolds. (That's not to say there aren't some very good - and not so good - individual episodes).

Another thing I like is the different layers of the show - not all are needed to follow the plot but catching them adds to it. Many of the character names are significant; the books they read are significant, and so on.

But enough of that. ;) I'm also watching coverage of the big eastern US storm on TV. Pretty soon DC will have more snow on the ground than we do....an extremely rare thing!

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Greetings all! I just finished the dishes and am awaiting my oldest sister's visit. Well, it's more than a visit, she's coming with my bro-in-law and nieces to give me my birthday gift about a week before my actual birthday. Ah, well. I don't mind. :-$

I finally settled down and watched National Treasure 2 yesterday with my family. I can't say I liked it better than the first one, but it was alright. I absolutely hated when:

Spoiler
The evil guy died in the end. So sad.

But I did like how:

Spoiler
Riley had more comedy. ;))

Anyway, I liked it, but it definitely wasn't as good as the first.

Aunty Jo, I completely agree. He had the most perfect face for his part. ;))

Jojo dear! How very nice to see you stop by! But I am sorry to hear you've been sick. :( I have been fine, though not splendid.
I liked the first NT better than the second. ;)

NG, Oh yes! It was Ian. I have to say I liked Ian better than the evil guy in the second one. But that may be because "Ian" played in LotR as Boromor. You'll love Riley in the second one! He has far more comedy lines. :)

I've been missing LL, Ara and PP as well. I hope they'll find their way right back here soon.

I'm sure you did excellent on your ACT test, Cor. :)

See you all some other year! :D

Well, well, would you look at that. It's johobbit whose anniversary it is today. :-o And I didn't even realize it before Fanny mentioned something. Thanks, FF! :D I can't quite express fully what a privilege it is to be a part of this really special forum. Like stargazer has said before, if someone told me ten years ago I would develop such close friendships with online folk, many of whom I have never met, I would have guffawed. This proved utterly false, thankfully and I thank God every day for this place.

Ruby, what a special evening you had last night.

Hurrah that ACT went well, PrinceCor! :D Thanks for popping in to let us know.

Thanks for your thoughts on LOST, 'gazer. Some day I think I will finally succumb. ;))

Yes, that eastern US storm is really something! *mutters something about wishing she was experiencing it* But, as Paul said, I have learned (am learning, says Jo) in whatever state to be content (Philippians 4:11). I just only wish I was in an eastern State right now. :))

Well, my cream puffs are made for our movie night tonight; I just got an email from one of my girlfriends, a British gal, who said that she has everything packed: "blankie, pillow, hot water bottle, slippers!" ;))

Ooh, I just noticed there is a daytime Iridium flare at 15:33 (EST) today. That's soon! I've never yet been able to see a flare in the daylight, but always keep trying. One of these times I'm hoping my eye will spot it. (It's -7.1 mag.)

EDIT: Pebbles! :) Have a special visit with your family today in this early celebration of your birthday.

See you all some other year!

I sure hope it's long before 'some other year' when you come by again.

*dances into the Square singing "Second Fiddle" by the GVB* Back for ketchup now! We officially have almost 30 inches of snow. :-o We haven't had that much in ages! I also had some hot chocolate this afternoon...with glops of whipped cream on it. Delicious... :x

Ruby, yeah, I'm looking forward to summer too - and spring! :) Snow is nice, but I miss the nice warm days of summer. Plus, my birthday's in July, so I can't wait. Plus, no school!! :p
Ahh, sounds like your Family Room is nice and cozy! Lucky. Sounds nice. :D

Johobbit, the GVB's newest CD Better Day is pretty good. There are some old songs on it, but there are also a few new songs, which I really enjoyed. My favorite song was probably "When He Blest My Soul," it was a really pretty song. Plus, Michael English sang one of the verses in it, so that made me like it all the more. :p I love Michael's voice.

PA, yup, I'm a writer! I would love to get published someday. I started my newest story back in November (it wasn't for NaNo, though). So far I have almost 20,000 words. Not a ton, but still...
Yes, I know! ;)) It does take a while to write books! I get writer's block a ton. :p So annoying.

Johobbit, now we have two feet of snow and still falling! ;)) :D It's real pretty! We have lots of trees in our yard, and the snow on them makes it looks so pretty.

Ruby, that was so cool about your Irish dance class. :) Have you taken other dance classes besides Irish?

PrinceCor, glad your test went well! Tests always make me so nervous.

Pebbles, actually I just got to see NT2 yesterday morning! :D I think I liked it even better than the first - so cool how they kidnapped the president! ;)) It was sad how the bad guy died in the end, though.

*runs into the celestial warm air of the Square that beacons to her like a light house to a ship straying out at sea* How nice it feels here!

Mortereve, all!

Now, I have the most tempting urge to make some sort of character and converse with it, but I sha'n't, because I have no creative idea to make of it... So, yes.

My absence (for about 3 days. The rest was me being busy. :P ) was due to me going to a Winter Retreat up in Wisconsin. It was heaps of fun! :D Sadly, there was a lot of ice and hardly any snow so it was just hard down cold. We went skiing...And I won't share much because it's embarassing to yours truly. ;;) It was fun, still, it was fun. Dinner (lol, I'm just speaking about dinner. *is perhaps a hobbit at heart...*) was especially wonderful on the last day we were there.... Meatloaf (first time I've had it and it was really good, despite some of the others complaining about it.), Warm rolls with butter, and baked potatoes with rosemary and other herbs. :x And dessert was ice cream (with *glorious* Wisconsin dairy!) with the littlest bit of chocolate syrup. I was satisfied. :] Enough food talk. ;)

For all who were wondering, no, I haven't been mainly eating in my absence. ;) School's going well, I have to read The Hiding Place for Literature which I'm really, really enjoying. I wish every biography I had to read would be that suspenseful, thoughtful and interesting...

Catchup: *puts on some music, and begins toiling through the pages to see where she last posted*

Bella, you broke the flute? Oh dear. I was under the impression that flutes were sturdy instruments, not like a violin or lute... ;))

Haha. Well, Ella's flute was a good, sturdy one but some polishing solution got on the pads on the keys so...well, that sort of made things go downhill. ;)) I might be getting a violin the time her flute gets fixed, so I'm really excited to start doing duets. :)

Ben, life's been going pretty well for me, thanks. :) On most aspects, it's been well. How about for you?

You know about Lazarus and don't have it??? Why?! *is stunned*

Ahaha! Well, I go through many periods of my computer breaking down, crashing, having to reprogram the whole thing so off and on I don't have Lazarus and Firefox all the time, because I don't download or save many things because I don't know when the computer I have is going to give up. :P But I have and am using it right now! :D It's awesome, yes.

*waves back to Lydia* Estoy bien, tambien. *nearly faints with surprise* I'm feeling very happy right now because I understood everything you said. Hurrah! *thinks of a fitting reply* Or I'll just talk in English, and then think of something next time. :P How's your classes going? :) Spanish has been going pretty well now, I've learnt about enough to start conjugating verbs and things like that, so I can speak it *sort of* well... but goodness no, not fluently or anything or close to that. ;))
Yes, we do have a chocolate tree, isn't it the most wonderful thing? :D

Cor:
You're most welcome. ;) :P Yep, that's true. There are quite a few of humorous lines said on his part. ;)) Rex Harrison? I'm not familar with the name. True that. :)

Tubing went well, but I stayed off the dangerous one. Others decided to get daring, and got injuries... Tsk, tsk. ;)
Happy Belated 4th Narniaweb Anniversary! :D I've enjoyed talking to you and getting to know you and the Royal Family (and of course, Vern...) more. :)

That's happened to me the last couple of days. 'Course, no problem for me! I just ask helpful Lazarus to give me my post back, and it does! In fact, I just did that! Though, you're an Internet Explorer fan and you wouldn't be able to recover your posts...

I'd like you to know that I'm using Firefox and Lazarus just this moment and will continue to do so, since my computer and IE are in a fight, apparently. >.> ^.^ (Edit: and I saved this post with Lazarus. W00t!)

Yep, you got it right that time. ;))

Indeed it does. And it's not just being tired, but not even having the time to do it!
I can understand that. It does take a while, after doing something really fun, to all of a sudden get used to not doing it anymore. But after a while you get used to it, and then you hardly miss what you were doing.
Glad to hear they mostly went well. I had a bunch of tests already this week, too. I hope I don't have any more. I don't think so. Aw, so you almost got 100%, except for that one thing that knocked you down to 99%? That's happened to me a couple times lately. :|
You must have a big church. We wouldn't even have room for an elevator. ;))
Yes, they are easy to get mixed up. I would excuse you, except you said that a native said "Soy bien" which I know is not true. ;)
Ok, I said, "Can you speak a lot of Spanish, now?" And you said, "Yes, but he doesn't speak much Spanish. I need help." Close enough. ;) :P
lol, ok, then. Image
Have you ever been in a play.
Oh, he does, huh? Too bad that doesn't happen in the play we're doing. I've never gotten to die in a play before. ;)) It's funny, a friend of mine got to die in each of the last two plays we did. ;))
Yes, it's a great ending. Ooh, that's right, the fact Beth hasn't died yet is another plus for ending the play at that point.
Let's see, I saw the movie with Winona Ryder (I believe). Is that the most recent?
It's quite impressive, really. ;))

Mhm, that's true. Although, most of the time here, it's exhaustion. But, somehow we find time and strength to... Then and birthdays are the only time we decorate the house, so it doesn't happen too often, thankfully. ;))
*tries understanding that...got it* :P Yeah. And this year seems to be going by really quick, so that's an upside to the inevitable sadness when a fun event stops.
Thanks! :) How did your tests go then? Yep, that's what's been happening...And most of the time, if I forget to dot an i in Grammer or English, I get 99.50% =| But as long as I get an A/A+ average for the first two terms, and then the last two, I suppose I don't beat myself up about it too much.
;)) Our church is pretty big, but then we do have the problems that big churches normally face, such as not quite so much closeness, but it does have positive sides, of course. :)
LOL. I accidentally wrote "Soy" when the native said "Estoy", and I did mean to write the latter but the former accidentally came out. I beg for forgiveness! ^#(^ ;)
All right, I guessed what you said right, but how did I speak in the masculine form of the verb?! I double, triple (would that make it quintuple checked?) that I had it in the right form, but I guess I didn't. ;)) What went wrong?
For plays, I've been in two for Children's Choir at church. They were a series, and in the first I was one of the main girls who was cast as an angel in the nativity story; in the second I was a character who had to be turned into a girl who was cast as a cow in the nativity scene. What a contrast. ;) :P In the former I got to be ignorant and distracted, which was fun. ^_^
And then of course, there's acting class where we perform stories that classmates have written. Last year we did, and this year too, the oldest group (which I'm in) are going to perform the show the way the actors/teachers do it, so that might count for some sort of performance/play (which is mostly comedy). :)
Yes, sadly, he does. Heh, that must've been fun for him! ;)) Although, I imagine acting a dramatic dying scene would be funner than acting out a silent, solemn one (the way

Spoiler
John Brooke dies
). ;)) Unless it's really sad and you can capture the audience magnificently... =]
Definitely so. :) The original ending of the book is sweet, but but
Spoiler
Beth gone
makes it feel a little empty.
Yessir, that's the most recent, I believe. I really liked the casting in that one (except for Beth's casting and Laurie's. Christian Bale isn't the ideal Laurie, IMO. :P And Mr. Brooke's casting, for that matter! =S ) I do enjoy watching that version, but it has some differences from the book that I didn't like much. Laurie's character differences especially bothered me.

Good for you! You earn a reminder to download the latest version, 3.6. ;)

*checks little box next to reminder* Did that today. ;)) It's a relief to see things actually go faster.

There are going to be quite a lot of exciting birthdays in the family this year! My eldest sister (not JMoon) is turning 21, my other older sister is turning 18, and I am turning 16. So we're all reaching significant ages...fun!

Wow, that certainly does sound extravagant! How fun. =] Haha... I didn't know you were turning 16.
Anywho, how've you been doing? :)

lol, I don't really care what you call me, so long as it's related to my name in some way or other. :) That's good! I've been well. My parents just got back from a trip so I'm quite excited to see them. :)

M'kay, I shall remember that. ^^ (Awww, so I can't call you "Shirley"? I was hoping I could... ;) jk) Good to hear! :)

Yes, you cannot begin to imagine the agony I was in! ;)
That's good, I'd be kinda of worried if Ruby's and my posts stopped entertaining people. :)

Oh no, oh no, oh no! *shakes head and buries them in hands* But I'm back! No need for agony! ;) (Wow, that sounded really self-centered. /:) :P )
Eh, stop entertaining people, you say? :-o Far from! Every post that y'all make is quite unique and very much interesting to read. :)

Hurray! You know what I mean! Or rather, I didn't confuse you any! ;)) We must think in very much similar ways! Yes indeed! I think one of the only "problems" about being more introverted is that I do so much of my thinking and working through things internally and only present them to the world when they are quite perfected and I'm satisfied that it does cause problems. Ah well... ;))

Ahaha! Nope, you didn't. And yes, we do! =] Yes'm, that's very true about being introverted. And for me, I also tend not to give what I'm thinking about to others until I'm sure they'll work but then it ends up confusing them. ;)) Right, oh well...

Yes! I'm sure she can keep our secret and would be most patient with us as we learn to dance, eh? And then next time we watch a Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly movie we can simply get up and dance around when they do or when we get that urge. (Honestly, sometimes my siblings and I mention that we get this really odd feeling that we could just get up and start dancing but we...just...can't... and that probably sounds really really really odd...)

True that! :) And I know she wouldn't laugh if we did a particularly wrong move in our dance, yes? ;)) Oh, that sounds capital! :D Very good, very good. ^.^
LOL! It didn't sound that odd. :P Sometimes, when an especially favourite song is playing, we'll get the urge. Sadly, on my part, Ella can dance enough but I can't. :P So I have to sit and...dance in my head? ;))

Oh good! :) How goes it?

It goes well, thanks! :) I haven't reached a big, startling part in the book yet but I'm enjoying it. :)

Oh yes! :) I would definitely recommend War and Peace, it is a longer book but it is a good story! :) Haha, yes! To be honest I love history in general, from the late 1700s at least to the early 1900s especially. :)

All right, I'll definitely have to read that sometime. :) Ditto, history is amazing. :D (Especially that time period) I also like studying times before Cleopatra, mostly the ancient world. We have a Bible which shows what was happening that the Bible recorded, and then on the opposite side of the time line, significant things that happened at the same period of time. It's really fascinating to study. :) )

*squeals/gasps then cough/hacks because of the effect of the squeal/gasp on my throat*;) ... Dennie!!!!! :D How you've been missed! Please do come by more often! :) How have you been doing?
Your icon is lovely, by the way. :)

*waves cheerily to NG, Pebbles, Nellie,Jo, Gazer, and Lady A(m)*

Happy bleated birthday, Lady A(r)!!! :D/ And conga-rats on the 1000'th post, Djaques! (I apologize deeply; I really thought I needed a nickname for you, but that will do for now. ;) )

Anna!!! :D Good to see you in the Square! ^.^ How exciting about your book! It sounds like some awesome work so far. :)

Ana!!! I haven't talked to you in a while. Sounds like you've been enjoying your activities and all lately. :) I'd gladly send you some snow here, and get a number of ten multiples degrees in return.... :P

Bella! (I have missed calling you that! ;) ) I'm doing vell tanks! How's vou zes days? I can well imagine how those gloves would cure boredom symptoms ... I have no fun gloves like that, so I'm resigned to finding other amusements. Vell, sincet yo' accent was clearer 'n a crystal ball, I s'pthose I picked-ed up on it a wee bit. I've been doing a lot of writing lately and studying, and lots of house/vet cleaning for other people too. And what's been keeping you busy lately, eh? You must tell me ALL about Winter Retreat!!

Jojo! (Ahaha! ;)) Thankfully I can call you Jojo, though! :D I saw this the other day and wanted to call you "JojoCocoaBean" Just kidding, just kidding. *coughs* ;) ) ROTFL, that accent...oh my... =)) (In acting class, we were playing a game to see who didn't smile and we could use any accent to make our fellow playmates laugh..Someone used the same accent on me, and my stone-face crumbled. :| )
They do cure boredom, but surely not freezing hands! (Most of the time, when it's real icy out. Otherwise they're toasty. :D ) My accen' was as clea' a' crys'al ya' say, lassie? Ya' ded, eh? Vell, shtill, I bl'ive thaking ash them up clayess peyple do vastes thime. :!! I do not know where that came from. xDD
That sounds very fun and time-consuming, but in a good way, o'course! =] Ah, different things here. Writing a little, reading a little, studying quite some bit (Thank goodness for the 4 day weekend this coming week! :D ), knitting hats and the like, and piano practicing. We have a recital coming up soon, and I'm wondering how that's going to be. :-ss ('tis my first time playing in one. ;)) )
Yay, I may ramble to thee? :D I shall do so more in my next PM to you. ^^

And I believe I'm through with my catchup post! It took me forever. And I skimmed terribly. *reminds self no to procrastinate so much* Don't we all...? ;)

*wonders if the ice is thick enough to be skated upon and laces up skates* I will go test it.

Cor, glad to hear that the ACT went well! Be thankful you came out alive, fortunate survivor! Tests like that have been known to kill people... ;) :P

Princess Anna, I'm dying to know what your set is all about and your book. Is this the novel you wrote for NaNo 2009?

Wow, that certainly does sound extravagant! How fun. =] Haha... I didn't know you were turning 16.
Anywho, how've you been doing? :)

Lol, don't feel bad. I don't think my age is a very well known fact around this forum anyway. Not like I've been trying to make it a well known fact...:P

Anyway, I've been doing really well! I've sorta been killing myself trying to keep up with three instruments (hehe, not really working) and keep up with home work. But it's all been going real great. I'm sure things will brighten up when the weather decides to take a turn for the better and spring settles in. How about you? Anything exciting or even remotely interesting happening in your life as of late?

Good to see you on the square again, btw!!

Ruby, what a special evening you had last night.

It was special and a lot of fun too. :) I was really surprised they pulled all that together on such short notice. And I'm glad I still get to help out with the dance school... :)

Wow, Narnia Girl!! Thirty inches of snow? :-o You must have got that huge snow storm that they were talking about on the weather.

Your birthday's in July? So is mine! :) I love having a birthday in the summer. No school. And I usually get to spend my birthday at the beach with cousins and family. :)

That's all for now! I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

God bless!

Ok, don't have lots of time so I'm gonna make this quick.

Glad you feel more rested now, PA. And just a reminder: don't pull all-nighters. ;)

Haha! Ok, thanks!

Enjoy your movie night! :D Oh, and happy 3rd Nweb anniversary!!

*waves to Vern*
Cor, that's great about the ACT! Hope the waiting doesn't drive you too crazy, and that you did well!

*reminds self to watch Lost at some point, as I've only seen the first episode or two... and it sounds fascinating when others talk of it*
Glad you're enjoying it, Shepherd! :)
And you think DC will have more snow than Minnesota? Say it isn't so?! :-o ;)

*waves to Pebbles*
Glad you liked NT2! (I don't know which I liked better. But it's been ages since I saw the first one, and have only seen the second once... at camp this past july. haha! So yeah, would have to see them again to properly judge them against each other! I CAN say that I felt the second one left an opening for a third one, though.) Have fun with the family!! :D

PA, yup, I'm a writer! I would love to get published someday. I started my newest story back in November (it wasn't for NaNo, though). So far I have almost 20,000 words. Not a ton, but still...
Yes, I know! ;)) It does take a while to write books! I get writer's block a ton. So annoying.

Well, that's still something. What's that story about? Hope the writer's block quits annoying you!

Anna!!! :D Good to see you in the Square! ^.^ How exciting about your book! It sounds like some awesome work so far. :)

Thanks! It's good to see you too! It's a shame we don't talk more these days on facebook. Whatever happened to us doing that? Hmm? ;))
About my book: Thanks!! (and I KNOW you've seen my status messages about it. haha!) I hope to tell you some more about it, sometime soon! :)

*wonders if the ice is thick enough to be skated upon and laces up skates* I will go test it.

Ohhhh! Have FUN! :D Don't fall through the ice, dearie! And I wanna hear about the adventure, once you get back!
(and by the by, I know I procrastinate. and not just with the Square... with LOTS of stuff )

Ruby, that was so sweet of the people at your dance class! And I'm glad you don't (?) have to leave it! That must be terribly exciting and all! :D

Princess Anna, I'm dying to know what your set is all about and your book. Is this the novel you wrote for NaNo 2009?

*wonders if I did or did not say this before, though I think I did in an earlier post or two the other day*
No, I don't do NaNo. (for reasons stated in the past) However, I did start this book in November (the 12th or 13th to be exact). But the timing was just a coincidence. (actually the idea started formulating clear back in January 2009, but I didn't act on it or anything til November)

And in fact, it's to be the first in a series of books about these characters. (they won't let me alone til I write nothing short of their life story, as I said in an earlier post ;) )

Didn't I give a synopsis? *is getting very confused*
Short version?
It's a story set in the summertime, about an adventure that involves five fourteen year old best buddies.
Longer version?
It's two weeks into the summer of 1989 (June 5th, to be exact), in the small farming community of Stolwood, Nebraska. (I made the town up) There is this group of boys, who tend to attract trouble. (unlike most boys their age, who seek it out) Anyway, they have done all there is to possibly do, and are extremely bored one day. (it so happens to be the 14th birthday of Kev, the youngest) So, the instigator of the group, Charlie, gets it in his head to go looking for trouble. (and I have already said in another post, what he said that started the whole thing) Guess he figured it'd give them something to do. 8-|

Anyways, I'd love to chat more about it with you, but I'm terribly busy. No time now! (I'll explain why, next time I come on) Later, people!

Mortereve all! Well, I'm back to make my promised catch-up post. :D Wow, a TON of people have posted since noon! :-o Well, for supper I fixed some stuffed pasta with tomato cream sauce. (Bertolli dinner's come in handy ;)) ) *random fact*

Now to the catching-up:

-------------------------------

@ Jo. Don't worry, Vern stayed home during the test. ;) As you know, it went well. :D Quite welcome. :)

Eh, I can go with calling ya'll "Elders" if you wish. Perhaps contemplating the recipe for lembus (SP?) bread? ;)

MmmHmm, he's been growing quite a bit of late. Good thing we own a lot of land! ;;)

*And that you keep a well stocked pantry and good game in the forests ....*

@ Gazer. Thanks! :)

Speaking of TV shows: I've tried watching Lost but could never "get into it". I did like Stargate Atlantis and Surface before the first got too bogged down and the later was canceled. :-s

@ Pels. Thanks, I'm sure I did well too though it is a little nerve racking. Oh well, I'm just glad to have the test behind me now. :)

*still needs to see the two National Treasure movies...*

@ Lucy. Thanks and Ditto about tests.

@ Bella.

Spoiler
Yes, quite humorous and memorable. :) Rex Harrison is the actors name who played Henry Higgens. He was a well known British actor, both of stage and screen/TV.

Very good to hear. Well, not about the others getting hurt, though I guess they got what was coming to them.... but then that's not very nice, sooo... yeah. Glad you didn't get hurt! :p
Thank you! :D As I (and we) have greatly enjoyed getting to know you and Ella. :)

@ Ruby. Thanks! Oh? I have not heard this. Pray, do enlighten me on the subject....

@ Anna. *Waves to Anna Hello miss Anna! :D *

Thanks, Anna! For me the hardest part was the build-up to the test. :-ss I think I'll survive just fine now. ;)

------------------------------------

Well, I think that covers everything. :) Once again, thanks for all the congrats!

Talk with all of you later! Pleasant dreams and a good Sunday to all!

*Cor and Vern exit the Square*

Avvie by the great Djaq!

Hello all! *Waves*

JO!!! *HUGS*

@ Winter. Yep, we're going to be getting rain and cold weather for the next several days. Glad to hear all of you are doing well. :)

Well, that's no fun. (Unless you get class/work cancelled and get to goof off ;) ) At least you have Vern to make y'all some nice big fires. :)

Winter, yeah, I really enjoyed Princess Academy too. :) Shannon Hale has written lots of good books.
Yeah, Eye of the Oracle is pretty confusing at first, and it's so long - like 600 pages. The rest of the series is very good though.

I've never read anything else by her. What else has she written?

Ah, I knew it. Ok, forget that about perfect, but like I said, you expected some standards. I don't know what sort of crazy standards they were, since I haven't done anything that wouldn't meet up to someone's expectations.
(You can't deny it!)

Yes you did! You...Oh, bother, what did you do? You're making me look like an idiot.... *sigh*
(Um, I think I just did.)

How modest. :P

Yes, I know, I'm such a wonderful, amazing person, and modest, too! ;)

*waves back at Winter* :D I haven't seen you in ages! :)

I know! It seems like all the mods. up and abandon us, here in the square, for the most part.

*waves to Winter* It's been a long time since I saw you, hasn't it? ;)

Practically, ages. ;)

Hi Winter! Oh, that is sad that you only got to go skating four times...I've only been skating once this winter, but I want to go again very soon. It does create fond memories, doesn't it. :) How are you doing these days? How's school and stuff?

Yes, quite sad. :(
I'm doing pretty good. I've been really busy, though. School's been going good. In Algebra and Biology we just hit the uber easy chapters...Inequalities and Biotechnology. :)

:)
M'kay, I shall remember that. ^^ (Awww, so I can't call you "Shirley"? I was hoping I could... ;) jk) Good to hear! :)

Ok. lol, you could if you wanted to, but I prolly wouldn't remember who you were talking to. ;))

lol, you know you sound really stuck-up. (Or would, if you were being serious :D )
Thanks! :)

See y'all!

Mortereve, all!

Jo poked me to pop back in, so if anyone was curious, I am still alive. ;)

I've been doing pretty well. Swim team is getting ready to wind down, which means it's been busy. College is going well, but between Pharmacology and second semester A&P, that's been busy as well. So, to sum me up, life's been busy. #:-s ;))

I've missed you all and been trying to keep a bit of an eye on here.

I'm currently half watching the Super Bowl, half catching up on various sites and such. (My internet's been flakely all week).

Anyways, I'll be around (internet providing) all tonight.

Well, I apologize once again for the long absence (that is my second two month absence in four months!)! I really need to get out of the habit of disappearing like that. (Then again, maybe not... it is sort of my 'thing'.)

Stuff that I have been up to lately... Let's see, in the past two months I have acquired a new nephew and a niece, had a wonderful Christmas and New Years, been sick twice, watched all three seasons of BBC Robin Hood (the first two seasons are the best. The third season is better off forgotten.), became a mod, and I most recently started taking mandolin lessons! I bought a F style mandolin on ebay, and I'm loving it! It is named Oscar (yes, I named my mandolin! :P ).
At the present moment, I am missing Djaq, who is gone once again to help with the new babies. I shall be without her for a whole week! :-o :((

On to the ketchup! I'm only ketching up on stuff directed at me... so sorry if I miss anything important!

The Torch: That's great about your NaNo! I'm thinking about doing it next year. :D Everyone I know who did NaNo said it was really fun.

Oh, you really should! :D It was such a neat experience, and I really enjoyed getting to do it alongside so many other neat people! I'm super competitive so that was part of what was driving me to finish.

Hello, flambeau! :) (Random question... what is the "Manalive Secret Society"? ;)) )

Heya Rosa! :)
Oooh, you dare to ask about the 'secret society'? ;) (Okay, not so secret...) Um, well, it is a society which was formed by Dennie, Betsie, and myself (there are several other members as well). Manalive is an excellent book by G.K. Chesterton, and since we all love the book so much we decided to start a 'club'! :) Would you like to join? ;)

Aww, your novel sounds like a good story (though sad in the end). *wants to read it now...* ;))

Hehe, thanks! It probably sounds a lot better than it really is. ;)) I haven't worked on editing it, or finishing it. I needed a break after working on it constantly for a whole month.

How have you been lately?

Been doing pretty great! I've been sick a couple times, but I think I'm fully recovered at the moment, so that's good!

*waves to RileyTea*

Hey there Jojo!!!!! :D

"I get that a lot....." ~ A quote from any number of movies in any number of genres. :p ;))

"Congratulations. LEAVE." - Marian, Robin Hood.

I'm right.
Yes, I did!
Yes, you did!
Yes, good.
I don't have any clue what we were talking about. ;))

No, you're not!
No, you didn't!
No, I didn't!
No, bad!
That makes two of us. ;))

"You're welcome, Mr. Dickens." ;) Hah! She's a little odd, so I guess that makes her interesting. :P

"A blue furry Charles Dickens who hangs out with a rat???"
No, that's what makes her unique!

"...there's no place to hide..."

"...but I don't think I'm scared..."

Yes, you are supposed to be nice! 8-| :P

Now you tell me! :P

Why wouldn't I approve?! It's one of my favorite songs. ;)

That is quite true! So, I suppose it's not a surprise that you approved...

I can vouch for that; she listens to it all the time! :P ;)

And why shouldn't I? It's perfectly awesome!! :D *starts it playing*
(pssst! Djaq, I miss you! Sorry that I wasn't able to make it out to see you earlier! :( )

Switchfoot fan ;)

Who's that? *looks innocent*

*squeals*!! :D Cute song! ;)

I wholeheartedly agree! "...all I really want is a second second chance with you..."

That's good. I've been good. :)
lol, ok I felt kinda dumb asking. I was just checking, 'cause "Flambeau" is the name of a fishing tackle/outdoorsy company. ;)

I'm glad to hear it!
Teeheehee!! Really? I was not aware of that! ;))

Other than doing my school, writing my book, admiring the newly fallen snow, visiting my older brothers in Ohio, celebrating my birthday with them, and trying to read all my presents (which were books :D), not much has happened lately. :P What's up with you?

Ooh! Sounds like lots of fun!
Oh, not a whole lot at the moment. Just hanging out at home. :)

*is surprised that anyone here has watched that show*

Oh, you've seen it as well? I did not know that! Do you like it?

*waves back* Who are you ;) ? I've never seen you here before :p .

Oh dear! I've been gone so long no one remembers me! Yikes! (I'm not sure that this second long absence has helped much, either! ;)) )

Hey, flam! How've you been? And, more importantly where have you been :) ?

Hey yourself! I've been doing quite well, thank you very much! You?
Well, um, here and there. Mostly Fan Art/Non-Narnian if you're referring to the forum. ;) :P

Oh good! :) Is your family still over, or no? :) How did the time with them go? :)

Well, I suppose it's evident that they are not still over here now ( ;)) ), but no, they were only over for the afternoon. It was quite fun though! It was some relatives that Djaq and I didn't know very well, but it was very fun getting to see them!

And flam! My own dear P.P., M., M.C! (Which stands for: Perpetual President, Member, Manalive Conspiracy, paraphrased from The Pickwick Papers.)

Betsie!!! :) Aha, thank you so much for refreshing my memory! I could remember the last part, but not the first part.

Oh, your novel sounds really neat! I like how you ended it. ;) Something interesting and unusual. My book doesn't really have a plot... just the Nearly Utopian lives of three girls who buy a house and live in it and are happy and make friends and do and like all the things I want to do, and really do like. ;)

:) Thank you very much! I think the ending is still lacking something... maybe make it a bit longer or something. It seems like he dies a bit too quickly. (that sounds really strange! ;)) )
That sounds really neat, actually! It sounds like something I would enjoy reading! :)

Thank you for the reminder... I need to go and transform myself in James/Wilfred Emerson Eames, and also, maybe, you know, memorize my Manalive script. We have to perform in about 25 days! *runs around in a frenzy, then realizes she isn't doing anything, so sits down and pecks away at the keyboard again* Seriously, please tell me I'm not the only one that noticed that the warden of Brakespeare College has two different first names.

Well, as it has been more than 25 days since your post, I'm guessing that you've already done the performance? How did it go? :)
Are you serious? I have never noticed that! ;)) But I suppose that would be typical of Chesterton to make a mistake like that. ;))

*skims for her name*

*sees a discussion about chocolate going on* Chocolate is most definitely good!! No question about it. :P

@ Djaq, conga-rats on the 1000th post and your 2 year anniversary!! :D

It seems like all the mods. up and abandon us, here in the square, for the most part.

ymwhisle

*waves to everyone not mentioned specifically above... specifically Dennie, Jo, Bella, Mel, Valia, and LadyL*

I do believe I'm fully caught up! :D (It's about time, eh?) So, now I shall head out for now, but do not worry! I will not wait another two months before doing a ketchup post! I promise!

Have a wonderful mortereve all! :)

*Forces himself inside the Square. Sits down under the Chocolate Tree and start consuming the delicious chocolate.* Evening, all! And to those whom it is not yet evening, mortereve! Well...it's been weeks since I've wandered into the Square! I'm left being in page 94!

What has happened? A lot. School, job (what takes up my time), reading, writing, emailing, and the like. I'm nearly too busy for much computer time! Yet, I still manage to smuggle a few hours in.

Aaannddd...my birthday is one week from today! Can't wait :D/ ! Any of you guys going to see Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief? I am! It should be pretty good. I'm not sure how close they'll stick to the book (that's what I'm really afraid of) though, I think Chris Columbus will pull it off nicely. I recommend the book(s) to anyone who loves fantasy and mythology. The best series I've read in...five months! No, just kidding, it's the best series I've read since the Chronicles of Narnia. I mean, it's really good!

Well, dear Square Onions, I'm off to read! I hope the next ten (or fifteen) pages will be great! I probably won't be back here anytime soon.

Maybe a week or five :-$ :p

I met Georgie and Skandar AND saw the film in one evening.
