I hope that all of you dear SquareOnions are doing well! I've missed being in here (for the last week or so?), and have been meaning to catch up, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Well the reason for this post is..... Drum-roll, please.
This is my 1000th post!!! Yes, I know that this is a tiny number compared to many of you guys, but it's still a new ranking for me.
I am officially what they call a "Guru" once I click "Submit". Kinda strange to think about (okay, not really ). I've enjoyed my Junkie-ness and I hope that my Guru-hood is just as fun!
Another thing, my two-year anniversary is coming up this Friday! All of the time that I have been on this forum has been really, really great! You guys have given me lots of laughs (among other things), fun quoting conversations ( ) and have been wonderful friends! Thanks for putting up with me!

Anyway, now it's time for the treats, right?
Ooh, I see that Mel has already brought some delicious cookies!! Thanks so much, Mel!

And, a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Wren!!! I'm sorry that I'm late. Thanks for the congrats, too! Chocolate is a great way to celebrate.

Hey ho, all! Boy, it's good to be here again. I sometimes will pop on the Square to skim over posts, but sadly it's been awhile since I've actually written something.

*nabs a Snickers from the chocolate tree, and settles down beside the firepit, which she is hoping Vern will kindly light*

Wren, I do hope you had a special birthday, and (non-Junkie) Djaq, congamarshwiggles on your 1000[super]th[/super] post! Hey, NN/Aiden, I remember how to do that superscript thing, thanks to you. ) Oh wait! The usual didn't work. Hmm, let's try something else. Aha! It's now [super] instead. Anywho, Cream puffs for all the celebrations! Plus a drum roll, as you requested.

What kind of cookies does NN like? Surely not chocolate. And definitely not Those We Do Not Name.

It snowed here last night and brought a few inches. It was so pretty that after my walk, and a shovel of the driveway, I pulled out a patio chair and sat it in the front lawn under a birch tree so I could enjoy the beauty of the gently falling snow. *happy sigh*

Wren! I see you posted whilst I'm a-writing. I see you called Mel only "Mel-y". Wasn't there a third syllable you had added to her nickname?

*sticks head in sheepishly* I haven't been here in forever. But I saw some many other erstwhile Square Onions post, I thought I'd better, too.

*Cor and Vern enter the Square followed by seven fauns from the Faun Cafe bearing platters of various homemade treats and drinks*

Mortereve all! Vern and I have brought with us various treats for all the SquareOnions on this day of Djaq's 1000th post and to honor Wren's birthday (a day late, I'm afraid, but anyway.... )

So..... celebrate!!! *Vern lights the firepit for Jo and then takes his usual place by the fountain, joining the Prince. The fauns set out a table and lay out the various drinks and treats before bowing to all present and exiting the Square*

Yeah, I learned my lesson from last time with all those cured fish for the beavers.

Sorry about that. Soundtracks are my "thing".... A little bit of both, actually. I have some Limited Editions and out-of-print albums as well as some more well known scores (LotR trilogy, Pirates, Aliens, TDK) and some lesser known ones (Jumanji, An American Tail 2, Jurassic Park 2).

@ Winter. Yep, we're going to be getting rain and cold weather for the next several days. Glad to hear all of you are doing well.

Ah, this is just like old times. Valia, put it this way: this winter has not been a typical Canadian season here at all. *sniff* So, yes, I'd dearly love a few good snowstorms before May comes, and our snow season is officially over.

Aww, thanks PC! *tackle-hugs back* I've been around, just not in the Square overly much, sadly. But I'm keeping my eye on it still, and hope to be popping by a bit more regularly, even for short-ish posts. Remember some of those monster posts a few of us would write in the old Squares? My hobbit hole remains as cozy as ever, if any of you would care to come visit.

Computer problems, what?! That's been awhile. Don't think I've been gone that long!

Helping with a play? The last time I helped with one was last summer. Last time I was in one, was A Christmas Carol, this past December. (and they both went well, I think)

Did I tell you all about my book? Or did I not do that yet? Started it November 12th or 13th, don'tcha know.

A book, PA? Do tell! Is it finished? Did you begin it as a NaNo project, or is the timing a coincidence?

Which reminds me, I should do a little more editing on my NaNo. Too many distractions as of late.

My book? Finished?
Heavens, no! I've only gotten two chapters finished, the third started, and the rest are being formulated in my brain (some are finished more than others. but none of them can be written down til the third chapter is finished)

The timing was just a coincidence, of sorts. I don't know if it's because everyone else (or so it seemed ) was writing because of NaNo, if it was because of watching a movie where the main character was an aspiring author (watched it one too many times, actually ), or if it was the plot idea nagging at me. (I got the initial idea last january) But I got anxious to write something. And there, it happened. haha! *thinks maybe I should have tagged you in the note I wrote on facebook on January 1st*

Umm... so, yeah. Chapter-wise it's coming VERY slowly. But as far as character development-wise... it never stops! These characters rarely (if ever) shut up!
And it's not just about the five of them either, ohhh no! They have to tell me about everyone they know too! (siblings, cousins, parents, grandparents) Oy. Makes me head tired, and sore.

It'll be the first in a series, and good thing too. I don't think these guys would let up til I wrote nothing short of their life story! (at least, from age 14 til they grew up) So, yeah. Good thing I like them, or I'd be in trouble! haha!

Oh, and another thing. I might have had the idea, but once I got to know them? (which was a few days in, might I add) They completely took over! I have little to no say in this, whatsoever. So, if it screws up, blame them.

NN95, science is cool. Not one of my favorite subjects, but I enjoy it a lot. My favorite subject would probably have to be literature.

Pebbles, yeah, National Treasure was really good. My favorite character was Riley. He's so funny!

Winter, yeah, I really enjoyed Princess Academy too. Shannon Hale has written lots of good books.
Yeah, Eye of the Oracle is pretty confusing at first, and it's so long - like 600 pages. The rest of the series is very good though.

PrinceCor, you're so lucky that you had weather in the 50's. That would be so nice out here! We're supposed to get lots of snow on Friday or Saturday. I've heard some folks say we'll get a foot of snow, and others saying 4 feet...so...I guess we'll wait and see.
