Howdy Y'all!!

Oh today is Labor day? mmmmm I didn't even notice. I guess I don't notice holidays unless we get off school.

Jo, I think she (ata) is mainly busy with work and fire department. I'm not sure exactly though.

*made her second topic in the entire year and nine months she's been here*
*wonders why her BC status isn't on her profile*

Yep, it's Labour Day. Everything is closed in our area, except for the odd drugstore.

Well, do give yourself and Ata . :)

That's great about the topics, Tiana. And I'm glad you began the knitting/crocheting/sewing one. It's a good 'un to have around. :)

Your BC status isn't on your profile? I can change that. What would you like it to say. "Birthday Committee Member"?

I noticed your pork recipe in the food thread and copied it down. It looks delicious! Aww, we still don't have a rubbing tummy emoticon, do we?

Hello everyone! *enters* How is everyone? I'm pretty good, I finished reading another book, and my sibs and I just finished cleaning the garage. That went well. :)

Mel:

Not that odd, my brothers do it too. And then when they hit the double digits, they start reversing them. Except for 11, I think they still double that one. ;))

Really? Well then, it's not so odd. ;) Hmm. Maybe we should go around polling the peoples and ask them if they ever did that when they were younger. ;)) B-)

*waves bigly to ~LL~* How are you? :)

Bella, your fedora sounds neat. ;) :)

*has missed Mrs. Jo too, but is glad to see that she's back* :) Thank you for the SquareOnions. ;) Now, are they literal onions or no? :D Yes, it was an interesting experience, seeing one on our yard. We live in town, so the bear came from the woodsy part of our land. It was just a cub...I wonder what happened to it. Oh well. *is not going to get reminiscent about a bear* ;)

*laughs* Yes! Although, I will admit, once or twice he has annoyed me rather much, but that's mainly when 99/The Chief/another CONTROL agent is in danger and he's standing around trying to figure something out. But for the most part he's just funny. ;)

Fanny-poo;

:-j Hmm, I'm not entirely sure I like that one. ;)

Mrs. Jo, you can change the non existent BC statuses? :) Could you do mine, if it's no trouble? Thanks! :) If so, Birthday Committee Member would work for me. :) Thank you! :)

I haven't really noticed that it's Labour Day, to tell you the truth. But then, I really don't notice those holidays, unless they're really special...or something...

*waves to Narnia Girl* How are things with you? :)

@ Miss Aravis: I enjoyed looking at the pictures you posted, thank you for sharing them!! :D Was there alot of people at the concert?

@ Ella If I knew where they were, I'd take some pictures and send them to you. ;) But alas, they are [probably] buried with all the rest of our school work from those dear departed days gone forever. :)

Thank you! :)

Cor: Aren't the Jeremy Brett versions fantastic adaptations? This summer my brother, sister and I have been watching them every Saturday night on television, and for the most part I really enjoy them. There's only been one or two that I haven't liked, (due mainly to them having more violence/more murder central themes) but the others have been good. :) Sometimes I'm surprised at how close some of the adaptations are from the original stories.

I should be off. Cheers!

Kind folks of old, you come again no more.

And no, I didn't even know that Edmund P and I were using the same avatar until I saw one of his posts here in the Square.

Really, you guys didn’t plan it? Too funny! It’s like showing up at school wearing the same shirt as someone. (For the longest time a girl at my church had the same sweater as I did and we occasionally wore it on the same day. It was a little weird.)

Have fun on your bike ride! My family might end up going on one as well. We’ll see.

I'm still regretting washing my hands afterwards... just kidding.

Okay, that’s a little creepy. ;)

I know, I just feel so incredibly thankful and blessed... oh, and sure!! This is the video that I sent to Mike.

Wow, your cover of the song is so pretty! You remind me a lot of David Sides. (If you haven’t heard of him, look him up on Youtube. He does piano covers of a lot of Rihanna’s stuff.) It’s so much fun to see how many talented people Narniaweb has. Just keep practising and getting better girl! :D

*has now commented on Cep’s facebook* I didn’t know they had terrorists so cute! This is most certainly a creature from the bowels of hell. :p (Cep, I think you're crazy BTW.)

It was retty fun, but it was tiring.

Is that a combination between pretty and really? :p And that dance does sound like it would have been fun. I really like meeting people from different cultures and seeing how they do things, like bridal showers for example.

Since we’re talking about “going off to college” I’d suggest going to a community college. They tend to be cheap, you can live at home, and I loved my community college (plus I wasn’t ready to leave home.) It’s a nice way to get a lot of the basic courses out of the way while they’re relatively cheaper and in smaller classroom settings. It’s also a good time to experiment and see what you’d like to do with the rest of your life.

I shall probably take some Facebook profile pictures with it….

Yes, do! That sounds like a fun photo shoot. :D

And that’s kind of an awkward part in Jane Eyre. >_< Keep reading though.

Any time! If you ever want something other than a horse, just tell me. I wanted a duck for forever. I finally got it as a reward for earning a ribbon because none of my friends would send me one, LOL. (In their defense, you have to be fairly high leveled to send ducks.)

I’d LOVE to have a meal at your house! I don’t even know what state you live in though, LOL. And I don’t remember what the goat dish was called. Sorry. I do remember we also had Tandoori chicken that had been dyed bright red as well. It was really good too!

Hey Cor! I’m in favour of a NarniaWebber convention.:-bd *is beginning to wonder if she hit some button or other on Microsoft Word because it’s changing all her spellings to British ones* Not that I mind much, it’s just weird... all those extra “u”s.

Well have fun in history then!

Yep, you could carry on a whole conversation with just these new emoticons.

Ditto that it’s weird being called a senior! I’m technically a senior in college but I’m sort of pretending I’m not. I tell people I’ve been attending my university for two years, which is true. :p

I do think your mom and I would get along rather well, Ara

*continues to plot a family vacation to Niagara Falls*

I sure wouldn't want to cross that thing!

Ditto!

Oh today is Labor day?

I know it’s a holiday because I DO get off school! Woot! :D I keep mixing it up with Memorial Day though.

hey everyone! just dropping in for a quick minute!!

Winter! How is everything doing?

MissA! That is so awesome that you got to meet TAN!!! I hope you'll be playing with them next time!

*can't wait until Thursday*

I'm so excited about the upcoming concert! Just ask Winter, I've been driving her crazy... [:P]

I had my belated (very much belated) birthday party Sunday to Monday! It was a lot of fun! I had all my friends over and we had a slumber party and watched Newsies and Ever After, my two favorite movies right now! [:)]

I'll try to do a little more catching up in my next post!

@ Jo. *returns the fuzzy hug * Yes, it is indeed grand to have everyone back together! We're only missing Jojo, Betsie and Destined and then we'll have everyone. :)

Question 1: I start school tomorrow (Tuesday). I'll have a sort first week of school, which shall be nice. :D/

Question 2: Yes, I'm a senior this year. Sounds strange, doesn't it? I know! The last few years have really flown by.

Question 3: Yes, I attended Mr. Beagles speech/lecture/thing. :)

That or all of you people posting 3 pages worth of talking on Sunday which is suppose to be a slow day. [-( ;)

@ Fanny. Yes! I've only read a few of the Sherlock Holmes stories, but the ones I've read and then watched the adaptation have been very faithful. Some changes yes, but nothing major to ruin the story. Mom and Dad had video taped several episodes off of A&E years ago, so I kind of grew up watching the Jeremy Brett adaptation's. :)

Oh dear, the town square moves quite quickly. ;)) Let’s see how I do….I think I’ll split out my replies by subject, instead of by post order….

Not exactly a makeover, more like the whole of Ditto Town was picked up and moved.

Yeah, it did…but Ditto Town has a habit for doing strange things like that, so I wouldn’t be too surprised to find the same thing in a new location. :))

Lady Arwen? Oh cool, you're joining the SquareOnions? Welcome, welcome.

Just out of curiosity, what on earth are the SquareOnions? Methinks I should add this to the Ditto Town Lexicon.

*waves back to the (elvish, role playing) Lady A *

Ack! More name confusion!!! :P

Hullo, Lady Arwen! I don't believe we've met; I'm Lady_Liln, and go by various nicknames such as LL and Lady L. I think I'll stick with Wren or Arwen for you if that's okay.

Hi, Lady L! It is good to meet you. :) Wren is fine, as is Arwen. Thanks for checking!!!

And yes, this could get quite confusing with two Lady A's. Hmmm, what to do ... We could distinguish the two of you by having a Lady Am and a Lady Ar, but even that could mix us up.

Mel might have come up with the best idea…IDK, just let me know what you will call me, and I’ll stand up and salute. ;))

Edit:

Wren, Mel-y-poo? That's...err... unique.

Ditto.

I’m glad I’m bringing uniqueness to the square. :)

Wren, Mel-y-poo, or oatmeal? ;))

Did you add in the "I probably shouldn't have said that" bit later? I certainly didn't read it the first time I read your post... Anyway, viewing that comment as a comment on "That's...unique", I'll answer it as oatmeal is not unique, and I totally stole Wren from a book, so Mel-y-poo is unique. :P

No, I didn't go back and edit. ;)) I’m glad you like the uniqueness. I’m afraid I might have inspired a little bit too much uniqueness even for Ditto Town, though. :s

*is tickled at the reactions to Mel-y-poo, by the way* ;))

Yay! We caused a sensation! :P

Uh, you're not really going to let Lady Ar get away with "Mel-y-poo", are you?

Well... maybe if I can call her 'Wren-y-wren-lily-lu'...

I actually like that… it sounds nice and bird-like. Or Hwinish. :P I’m glad this is amusing people…I think….

I mean Queen-y-poo. This could get interesting, you know. ceppy-poo; Fanny-poo; Liln-y-poo; hobbit-y-poo; Prince-y-poo or Cor-y-poo; Kingskid-y-poo. Oh, the choices are limitless. ;))

Of course, Joey-poo. :P

Well I’m not used to calling or thinking of you as Wren, but it’s kind of pretty so I suppose I could adjust. I just think of any Wren as more quiet and less elegant than you are, so Lady A seems more approperiate. (And don’t you hate it when evil twins do that?:-l)

Why, thank you. And yes, I do, but I miss my original evil twin anyway. :(

@ Lady Arwen. Yes, especially if both of you are in the Square at the same time.... Hmm, maybe we can come up with another abbreviation for one of you.

A sore spot of debate, it seems. ;))

[Irish oatmeal] is usually thicker, and you put butter in instead of milk.

Oh yes. Now I remember it. I didn't like that kind very much at all. I like mine more runny. And the best way is to have it with cinnamon and raisins cooked into it.

Once again, I am amazed at the variety God has created in taste buds. I don’t like runny oatmeal, and I hate raisins, but cinnamon is absolutely superb.

*joins the “Not a fan of cold oatmeal” club*

It appears I am a minority here….

I'm not familiar with paratha, but I like Indian cuisine. Or the few dishes I was brave enough to try when we ate at an Indian restaurant, anyway.

AITB actually got the recipe for me from her mother, and I altered it to be more like what my friend used to make (she had to move back to India). It is pretty spicy, and (in the variation I’m used to) has chopped potatoes and the spices inside of a pancake-y, egg-y very thin (thin like crêpe) layer on the top and bottom.

And I will, since winter is coming, and rain and tea absolutely DEMAND sweetness of substance…and soup…and bread…and…..

I like that sentence for some reason. In a weird sort of way, I adore the changing of the seasons even while I dread the cold of winter. There’s just something almost magical about living in a part of the world with four seasons that are so different from each other.

Magical, yes. But extremely beautiful, too. The variety really is astounding, when you stop and think about it.

Aww, that's always a bummer.... :( You're never suppose to think "is this good for me?" when it comes to sweets! It's only "do I want this?" ;)

Well, “do I want this?” can be interpreted as “do I want the great taste of this?” or “do I want the resulting headaches from this?”

Ahh, I see you got one anyway.

Yep, I twer bad.

Oh man, now you've got me craving soup, homemade bread, homemade dessert..... *needs drool bucket*

If you ask Jo, you might be able to borrow her bucket. But it sounds like your family has good food, some of which has made even me envious. ;))

Glad your party last night was a huge success. May I ask who/what the party was for?

It was for my dad—his birthday was on the 5th, and since that happened to be a Saturday, we decided to throw him a party. :D

*spots the original Lady A* Did I know you still graced this thread with your presence? I haven’t seen you much since I dropped out of the RPs. How are you?

I actually lurk most of the time, but have braced myself to come back in permanently, so we’ll see how long I “grace” it. ;)) And you, dearie, need to make a cameo soon. I miss you in the stories. I’m doing quite well, been pretty busy, though, and I feel like I’m going in a million directions. How about yourself?

*Youtubes “A River Flows in You” because that’s what Ara does when she hears about a pretty song that needs to be listened to.* *much later* It's a really lovely piece! I like the sound of pianos playing without accompanyment.

Same here! I think I am going to like Yiurami, or whatever his name is.

Lol. I'm doing pretty good, Lady Arwen, thanks. Yup, today's a holiday. No school either! :D

Hurrah!

And I really loved Jane Eyre, even though it began slowly. Exactly what part are you at Bella? :)

I liked the first bit, but after I learnt what happened with some stuff in the book, I don’t know how much I’ll like it….Even though I sort of know the main happenings of the book, I think I’m probably going to finish it.

Oo, Jane Eyre discussions! I absolutely love Jane Eyre, and tend to prefer it to Austen’s work. I guess part of the reason why I like it is because I feel like I’m seeing the reflection of many girls’ souls in the work.

And…that should be it for me today. I’ll talk to all of you tomorrow. Mortereve!!

Hello all! *Waves*

*waves to Winty* Aw, I'm sorry that the New Forum doesn't like you. :(

*Waves back* So am I. :(

Yikes! I will. :P

Ok, good. Otherwise I will be very X( ( ;) )

Well, we could debate on this, or we could just let it go and both be content with being equally random. :P

Let's just let it go. I'm not very good at debating and I'm really too tired to, at present...

Lol, well yipee! Oh, I will! I'll keep it that way for sure!

Make sure you do. I'm very good at finding mistakes. (~~)

By "failing", do you mean to imply that I've made yet another mistake?!! NOOOOOO! Ah, but remember! WinterStar said that I start off with a clean slate! #:-s

I think, but I'm not sure, that by "failing" she means character flaw, not mistake. So, unless Djaq contradicts me, you're still mistakeless. (Is that a word???)

Winter!

Lady Liln! How's life?

Haha, I guess some of these new emoticons are okay... :D

Yup. Although some aren't so great, like the 'devil' ( ) face. (Hence the use of (~~) , instead.)

@ WinterStar Hehe! When I was 4, I used to always say I was 44, which was quite odd. ;) I remember doing it too... I wonder if that's opposite of what we're talking about now. ;) Anyways. I kind of understand about the birthday thing- it's hard to believe next year I'll be an adult. While 18 isn't particularly old, it does bring on extra responsibility and...

LOL, that's like a sister of mine (who shall remain namelesss) saying she was turning ten, instead of four. Must be. :) I feel small and immature. You're going to be and adult next year, and I shan't be an adult for four years! *hides*

Well, I'm so tired right now, so I'm not going to go through the rest 5 pages, but a hearty hello to CSLN-the-dear, Winty, Lady L, Djaq, Flam, Mel,Cep and all you other dear Squareonions

Hello, to you, too! :D

Mortereve! I hope everyone is very well this Labor day? Today's been a fun day so far. :D All my uncles came over and we had a drool-worthy cook out. ;) Yummy!
Anyways, catching up.

POGGY!!! Youre so awesome

Aww, why thank you, Eusy. :) As for your cortisone incident, I'm sure it could have been worse...as Cep pointed out. :p Still, that was probably really nasty tasting.

Normally, Scott manages to play the piano and bass at the same time... :p

Wow, I wonder how he does that?! :p

Forgot to mention that they played two songs from their new CD at the concert! They were AWESOME!

Oh, that's really neat! You got a sneak peek. :p Does that mean the new CD will be coming out soon?

It is, but I like how it looks! Although, I think they put the healthy food on the walls to make you feel guilty for just horking down a third pounder. (I didn’t, though. I ate a healthy Big ‘N’ Tasty. :D ;) )

Haha, I thought it was to make you think your're eating really healthy or something. ;) I actually haven't been inside a McD's in a pretty long time. Good for you for eating the Big 'N' Tasty. :D Even though I don't know what that is... :p

*Cor and Vern enter the Square, both amazed at the business of the last two days.*

Ditto to that! The Square is pretty popular these days, I guess.

Yes, it is funny! But I think Poggy-poo is rather endearing, don't you? (*) By the way, Poggin, I wouldn't say your post is lame at all. You always have well-written, interesting posts. :) And I have told you how much I like your signature, yes?

Hmm...I do suppose it is rather endearing, now that you mention it...if I was a dog. ;) Nah, the name is sort of growing on me. :p
Why thank you! It makes me very happy to hear that. :) Yes, I believe you did tell me that once, thanks! :D

I still think it would be great to have a NW convention or something where all NarniaWebbers could meet. *sigh* That would be great....

Ooh, that would be so much fun. :) Then perhaps the realization would finally dawn that people don't look like their avatars. ;) I'm pretty guilty of picturing people as their avatars, unless I know what they look like. But anyways, that would be the greatest convention ever. :D

I keep mixing it up with Memorial Day though.

Oh, good! I'm not the only one. :p

I had my belated (very much belated) birthday party Sunday to Monday!

Oh, I'm afraid I missed your birthday! Happy very belated birthday! :p :)
And I now have to go eat dinner. Have a lovely mortereve, everyone!

*pops in* I agree with Aravanna on the community college thing--you're studying from the same books that you would at a large school, only in a smaller class, and you're paying less money. Make sure you know the requirements for getting in to schools you would want to transfer to, and you should be fine.

I am, of course, somewhat biased thanks to some of the leadership roles I had at the community college level (and the nifty scholarship I got to transfer to my current university because of it :D ). Seriously, though, if you're a U.S. student, look into it.

It's been ridiculously quiet around here this weekend, I think if people weren't off doing things they were sleeping or reading in the library. :-$ I'm glad we don't have holidays every week--it's nice every now and then but I don't think I'd like it all the time.

Hmm, should I make tea or hot chocolate for my study time tonight? :)

First Square post for me in the new forum! :D

How is everyone? I myself am doing delightfully well ... on the whole, and taking one thing with another. ;) My, but it was nice to have a three-day weekend. I didn't go home—I probably should have, considering that it was my mom's birthday, but my parents want me to study and are kind of frightened of me making the drive, I think. I actually dreamt last night that I was back at home eating a hot English muffin, and was quite disappointed to wake up and find myself alone in my dorm room. (The roommate's gone for the weekend ... I expect him back any minute now, in fact.)

Today I really wanted to go to the "big city" thirty miles away (which is, funnily enough, significantly smaller than my hometown), but no one was in the mood to go with me. A pity because I'm told they have a fabulous used bookstore. So this afternoon/evening I went over to my friend Ricky's house. We talked (something we are both very good at!), played Mario Karts, watched Spider-Man 3, and he made me dinner.

Off to work on my short story and possibly so some homework. /:)

Hullo all and sundry! Ditto Lys on the first post in the new Square thing. At some point I'm going to have to have an inaugural Madcap dance, but that will have to wait as the Sirens are still tired from all that dancing in the wee hours of Friday.

One thing I have suddenly realized is gone, which makes me very sad, is the old emoticon set. The Evil Hamsters, Neutral Aliens, and Star Cavalry...I shall miss them all! *tear*

Oh- Lysander- THANK YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH. You never shut up about Patricia McKillip, and so when I was searching the library rather frantically for a second book to take home, and saw her name...well, to make a long story short, I read Od Magic, and I was Enthralled. Shall be reading more.

Is this your first year of university? How do you like it so far? Did you have frosh week?

As for myself, I am off for the night. Work will come early.

Dittos to all, and to all a good night!

First off, lovely to see you about again, JP!

You never shut up about Patricia McKillip...

And you make this sound so negative. =))

I actually haven't read Od Magic yet—my library doesn't have it and her more recent books are hard to come by used—but I know Booky read and liked it, and I'm glad you did too. My favorites by her are the Riddle-Master (EPIC ;) fantasy in the style of Tolkien) trilogy and The Bell at Sealey Head (a nice, cozy Austen-like fantasy/mystery), but I also highly recommend The Forgotten Beasts of Eld, Ombria in Shadow, and Alphabet of Thorn.

This is actually my second year of uni. 'Twas hard coming back and seeing many of my friends gone, but so far it's shaping up to be a good semester—busy, but good. And busy not so much from schoolwork, but from friends and other activities, and all the drama that comes with that.

I hope you see this at some point, JP, although of course anyone else is welcome to jump in the conversation....

Goood mortereve Ditto Town! Glad to see the new Town Square is proceeding nicely.

We were out of town camping this weekend, and the weather was spectacular, if a wee bit warm for my tastes. Still, the days were clear and the nights Moonlit, and it's hard to beat that.

And it's off to work again tomorrow...

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
