Mortereve all! *is tired* I'd best get on to ketchup, now.
NN95, lol, do you have any siblings that you go outside in the snow with?
Come on! Chocolate is AWESOME!!
FF, I had just a cough. My little brother caught it a couple weeks ago, and then about a week ago I started coughing too...I am feeling much better today, though, and coughing less.
Benjamin, hmm, not much is going on. January is such a slow month, after all the holidays and excitement back in Dec. We've gotten a ton of rain this past week.

Hmmm, that's a logical explanation for it. That makes sense. Interesting about the new writers in Season 4- I didn't pay attention to the names but I did notice there was generally four or five names whereas before there wasn't as many. I never knew it took so many to write one episode...
I noticed the puzzle transitions- one could not help it, I think, and I agree, they do get a bit tiresome after a while. I felt it was odd how they just suddenly started at the end of Season 3, it was kind of jarring...I suppose. Or maybe just different.
![]()
Just a guess. Yeah, there are four names on each episode, and I'm pretty sure they're the same people each time, as opposed to the previous seasons where there were all different writers. Later on in Season 4, they just put two of the four names up. I have a feeling the other two of them are like directors or producers just helping with the script, but not really writing anything. Purely speculation.
Yes, indeed. Especially after a whole season of them... Yes, indeed.
Sigh, and I thought you weren't lazy at all!
(You're such a meany.)
I apologize for destroying your perfect image of me.

Someone takes jokes a little too seriously...
Everyone has something that they get often and can't imagine life without. For example, I very commonly get stomach aches. Like, almost every day. Same thing with you and headaches. Headaches are much worse than stomach aches, though.
Aw, I'm sorry. Stomach aches are no fun. My dad gets them a lot, but I think that's just old age.
And you'll never see another one. It's a passion to hate chocolate.
![]()
That's very good logic, except that CHOCOLATE IS GROSS and everyone knows that GROSS = BAD!
I certainly haven't seen one before!
*chuckles* Do you hate chocolate just because you like being passionate?
Man! You just trampled all over my argument...
CHOCOLATE IS HEALTHY!! (scientifically proven )
I've never read the book, but it does seem like something that would work much better in book form than in movie form. Anyway, that said, I doubt I'd ever read the book.
The book wasn't terribly amazing, very well written, a bit long (could have ended much sooner), but it was very fun to read. There are definitely better books out there (there always are).
Speaking of books, I'm trying to compose a list of books that I need to read this year. Any suggestions?
That's good Ruby!
I love sunshine, it just makes the whole day seem more cheerful...
We've been getting plenty of it around here as of late! I'm considering working on our poor garden on weekends...it's been a long time since my family did anything to that weed patch.
Me personally I love romance movies! Its just one of those things that I like
*pats Ben on the back* Good boy! Romance movies are good and I enjoy them very much. That is, I enjoy them when they have a good plot with good character development.
*laughs heartily over the Ruby-Winter post* "Two thumbs up!"
Glad you enjoyed it!
Huzzah! Which version did you see, pray tell? I just recently (in fact, a few days most likely before you saw it...) watched the 2002 version with Anne Hathaway. I liked it quite a bit.
That's exactly the version I saw! Amazing, isn't it? Well, anything Dickens (done properly) is amazing.
I totally agree!!
Brandon Heath has so many really nice songs that are fantastic- but Wait and See is one of my favourites as well. It's my theme song for 2010....
What a great theme for 2010! It's definitely one I'm trying to apply in my life more...
Wowszers! You have a most interesting winter indeed! I'm glad everything is back to normal....

Mortereve all! I trust everyone is doing well? I've had a simply wonderful weekend! Went over to my cousins house on Saturday and watched some movies and then round-up spending most of Sunday with the same cousins. So far the school week hasn't been so bad either.

@ NN. I.... really don't know. Seemed like the thing to say at the moment.
Thanks! There are three albums that I've been wanting for awhile that are at the top of my "to get" list. After I get those, I'm hoping to buy a few more Goldsmith albums.
*chuckles at the raging back-and-forth about chocolate* Well, you know where I stand on the issue. "NN, let the girls win."
@ Ruby. Thanks! The weather has been sunny the last day or so, but it's bitterly cold with a strong near constant wind... It's fine if you're inside, but if you're outside, it's dreadful.
@ Bella.

Yes, I'm finally fully adjusted to doing school again. So far, school hasn't been to bad.
I've been doing very well, thank you! Had a great weekend *points to his opening paragraph* and so far a good week. How about you?
@ Fanny. Can't really think of anything to add to all that, so I'll just say: Ditto.
Aye, that it is. Business can be fun for a little while, but soon you just want everything to go back to being routine. At least that's how I feel.
Side note: When I glanced at the rest of your post and saw "The Lovely Bella", I misread it as "The Lovely Bones" for a spilt second.
@ Mel. *writes down the names of the books and the author* I'll have to check that series out the next time I'm at the library.

Goooood mortereve to all y'all!! (pardon the complete "Southernness" there)
I hope that you are all doing well. I haven't posted here since...Friday the 15th.
Well, it hasn't been quite two weeks yet.
I spent last week (17th-22nd) at my sister's house helping out with kiddos. It was busy, but very fun! Although, spending a week at my sisters, meant that I was away from flambeau the entire week.
That was a bit hard since we usually talk a couple hours a day when we're both at home (usually after 10 p.m.
), but I did survive...I think.
I'm fighting getting sick right now, or I'd be back out at my sister's again...I'll hopefully be 100% soon.
And now to catch-eth-ing up I go...
Well.... it was the best I could come up with on such a short notice.
![]()
I'll let it pass just this once.
Hope you have good time (though busy time, most likely) with your sister and her twins!
![]()
Thank you very much! I did have a good time. The kids are all really fun and sweet, so it was nice.
BTW, nice avatar! And for once, I know what the character is from.
Only because I came across Robin Hood on TV late one night....
![]()
Thanks! Oh, really? Do you happen to know which season it was? What did you think of it?
You're very welcome!
I hope the week upcoming is a good one for you/the twins/etc!
My week was a good one, I thank you. The twins are both sick now, and that is causing them to not sleep well, so my sister and brother-in-law don't get much sleep either, but I think that Julia is getting better now... I haven't heard from my sister in a couple of days.
How have you been lately?
I agree about having a schedule again feels nice- and it feels really nice to be getting things accomplished, even if it's just one lesson at a time. It's kind of hard to explain, but since it's my last year of high school this year, I like the feeling that every time I complete another lesson in the courses I'm taking & etc it means I'm one lesson closer to graduating... or something of that sort.
![]()
Mmm hmm.
You explained that very well. How lovely that you will be finishing this year! Congratulations! I don't mean to pry and I'm sure that many people ask you this question, but...What do you want to do after you graduate?
*is listening to "When You Come Back Down" by Nickel Creek*
Same here, Djaq, I've been busy with school and reading as well.
What books have you been reading lately?
How is piano going for you?
Well, at that point, I think I was reading Gods and Generals (which is a very good book!). I am currently reading Stepping Heavenward. I have read it before, but it's such a good book that I wanted to re-read it.
I'm perfectly azure; an elusive color of blue as I pine away, moment by moment until Lissa returns home. (she's been away since Tuesday; won't be back 'til Tues. or Wed.)
Do you know when she will return now? I do hope that if she isn't there already, she is able to go home soon.
Sisters never function well without each other (aka: their best friends).
Djaq!
I don't know if you remember your last quote, but it was this: "I try my best for satisfaction, sir." And to this I reply: "Your Christian names are still an insuperable barrier! That is all."
![]()
Jojo!! Ah, yes, it is still in my memory somewhere... "I spoke metaphorically. My metaphor was drawn from...bees."
Oh, about Abigail Chase: in the second National Treasure, when Connor "found her earring" and she's gushing how good he his. "You're just the best!"
It's a lil' weird, actually.
Aha! Now I understand completely.
Wait, now you're calling me "Jojo"? Whatever happened to "Cordelia"?
JK!
Oh, ok, yes, I understand about you not driving just yet. That's a good goal; a summary on the book of Leviticus would be simple. "Guidelines for grain, trespass, burnt, and sin offerings repeated about seventy times."![]()
Oh, dear me! I had quite forgotten about your "real name". Wilt thou forgive me, o' fairest of the fair?
Yep. I'm working mostly on the New Testament at this point, and once I get that completely done (and a few books from the Old Testament), I will get my permit.
Whoa now, don't let the whole world know that we argue, Rebel!!
Now, listen here, Yank, we can settle this right now!
This could be bad... my Arwen avatar makes me think of Wren, and not me.
Maybe it's the colour.
It makes me think of her too. Maybe it's just the style of an avatar that she would use?
How have you been lately?
You actually had me worried there for a minute when you said "arthritis".
But I'm usually slow on the uptake, so...
![]()
Glad to hear that you haven't grown a beard yet.
![]()
Yeah...It was kind of lame of me.
I couldn't think of anything else really.
What have you been up to as of late? You're taking piano lessons, correct? How are they going?
Heya, Kat! We'll miss you around here, but I understand your decision about not being on the internet as much.
A huge congrats on becoming a mod!!!
![]()
Thanks so much!
Oh yes, you both are extremely talented!
Aww, thank you very much.
By the way, I was wondering the other day where your name Djaq comes from? (I might have asked you that before, sometimes my memory can be rather bad
)
No worries if you've asked before. I don't mind repeating myself. I don't mind repeat...oh, never mind!
It's from the BBC Robin Hood TV show. "Djaq" is a member of Robin's gang. (She's a girl, btw.) It's pronounced like "Jack".
So, yeah, that's the story of my user name.
DJ: You know, I don't have anything to say really. But I figured I should say something.
Well, thanks for saying something. How are ya?
Oh, and I'll send a hug for good measure:
Yes, good for you! But, you'll be gone all this week, huh?
Yes, I was out of town all of last week helping out at my sister's. (I watched National Treasure with my nephews one of the days that I was there, btw.
)
I know Bella did it to me, and maybe Jojo, too. Ah well.
No, I believe you. You were probably just goofing off with the other mods so you could say it was "mod-related".Just kidding...
I don't quite remember. Well, too many people did it to you, I guess.
Actually...yes. I think that I was just goofing off with the other mods then. (and because I was doing that, I couldn't concentrate on responding to you)
Okay, so now you know.
Will you forgive me?
Eh, I don't really like that scene too much. Is it ok if I pick another one?
That's totally fine with me.
"Pretend everything's alright!"
It's funny, I was thinking just this morning that since we've started working on another play, I'll be starting to use quotes from it. Well, I just did!
"Speak for yourself." That line is in many things, but the one I'm quoting is from the Robin Hood TV show.
Haha, fun! How is the play coming? Are you enjoying it?
Perhaps not, but they're a handy excuse.
![]()
Oh, sort of a cantata with drama? That counts.Ooh, boy, it was a while ago. Our homeschool group had been doing a play each year for several years before I was a part of it. When I was 7, we did the play The Man Who Came to Dinner and a person that was playing one of the minor characters found out two weeks before the play that he couldn't be there. So, I got the part, and was thrust into the world of plays. I've been doing it ever since!
They are indeed.
Well, I don't really remember. It wasn't a cantata, it was more of just a program.
I remember that the part I had was supposed to be a boy, but there were more girls in the group (it was the junior choir), so the part was converted for me.
How neat! That sounds really fun.
Djaq, hah, oh no, I haven't been swimming. That would be...terrible, akchooly. :S
Bella! Lovely to see you here again!
Ah, I am glad to hear that you have not been swimming as of late.
Thanks! Yes, little animals melt hearts. <3
Mmm hmm!

What's been going on?
The other day, I was thinking about how we rarely talk anymore. Perhaps we should take up poetry again?
Not too much has been going on over here. We're expecting some bad weather towards this weekend but I don't think that's really of interest to anyone, is it?
Aw, that's too bad. Ah, yes, the curse of not having time.

My sister just bought Between The Trees' newest album, and let me tell you it is quite good. I'm enjoying listening to it. Speaking of my sister...
Today is JealousOfTheMoon's Birthday!!!! Happy birthday, sis!! We're celebrating tonight by watching Doctor Who. We're actually not really celebrating her birthday today...because my parents won't be here. It was kind of funny, one of my other sisters asked Moon "what do you want to do for your birthday?" And Moon said, "Nothing. Don't even talk about it." It was so funny! My sister isn't a fan of birthdays, obviously...
Now for some catch-up.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that...bad weather is really depressing. Our weather has been strangely weird as of late. It feels like spring today, but we're expecting a blizzard on Thursday. Weird, huh? And I can understand the whole orthodontist disapproving...I don't have braces, but my brother does and there's a million things he's not allowed to eat (like chocolate)...
I'm beginning to think that Aiden is non-human or something...
I've gone to winter retreat with my church... Played paintball, learned more about God and got ducttaped twice while getting silly string sprayed in my eye...
Sounds exciting and a little crazy...duct taped and sprayed with silly string? My goodness!! What were you doing? I got to go to a church youth winter retreat too over New Years...it was really fun.
I hope your weather gets better (no more flooding).

My life consists (chiefly) of homework. But, I am still taking piano lessons and working hard on practicing (not hard enough, though). I'm starting up violin and viola too. I haven't played violin for about three years, so it will be interesting to see how it goes...

So, yesterday, I made myself comfortable, placed my laptop atop the table, and typed up some exciting bit of a catchup post, but then as verily soon as I hit "Submit", I was directed to a page telling me I must indeed log in to post. *sniffsniff's*

And without much further ado, catchup!

LOL, the description you just gave defines my pattern of thinking to a T. ^.^ Sometimes I'll just randomly say something and most likely it was to Ella, and I've left her rather confused mostly because it only made sense in my mind (like things always make sense in dreams. ), or because she wasn't there for or I didn't tell her about the thoughts behind it. Ahah!
Yes, indeed!
Mhm, we must find some dance teachers... Jojo, you say, knows how to dance? Oh, right! I say we could tell her, and you? And then perhaps we might get dancing lessons and be freed of our bondage in the land of those who can not dance.
Oh, you're welcome! Anytime! I'm so glad that we were able to help, I hope you enjoy the rest of the book. And don't worry about how long it takes, it's okay! I'm almost done reading War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, it has been a great read, especially since it's set in the early 1800s and those were my favourite years in history (especially the War of 1812, although it's the British-American war of 1812 I like best. The Napoleonic wars are vastly interesting, but the War of 1812 over here is much more closer to home and I like it better, for various reasons). But back to the book, there's quite a few characters that I really like, which makes everything much better.
I'm glad the crochet learning is going well- you are so creative.
Thank-you! I do hope I enjoy the rest, however long it takes me to read it.
I think that not reading for a time span of about two weeks really dulled my reading skills a little, but they're sharpening and comprehending everything now.
I've heard quite alot about War and Peace, I take you would recommend it? (Ditto, the 1800's are a favourite time of history here, too.
It's a hard choice between the late 1700's and early 1900's but...ah. I think I can say I like them all the same.
Yes, I recall the War of 1812 being rather interesting when I learnt about it last year; I do need to refresh my memory on it, however.
Yes, with likable characters, that does make everything nicer.
D'awww, thank-you!
Mel:
Wowow, 60,000 words? And hurrah for the climax reached! I'm really impressed; right about when NaNoWriMo ended was when my writing self went into hibernation, but I woke it up yesterday, which was exciting for me. ^.^ That's a good idea for the paragraphs!
Right now most are stored in my head, but I should get around to writing them sometime...
D'aw, thanks! Yes, it did sound pretty when we had played it but I hope we can play better duets once Ella's flute gets fixed. (We were...a little too adventurous when polishing it...
But, but, we learnt something!
)
Oooh, Handel's Messiah is lovely. Ditto, I don't know if there are any spring songs, unless a couple hymns count... (Or unless "Peter Cottontail" does, which I'm sure it doesn't. *laughs* )
Thank-you!
I've been doing well, thanks, NG. And you?
Aiden: I do hope I will like it so! Nope, I meant NT1; I haven't seen the first recently, so I don't remember it enough to compare it with the second.
Ditto about NatM2. We're about to (or have already, not sure) borrowed the first, so I'm looking foward to watching it.
Yeah, well, Christmas is always a busy time of year, and it's hard to find time to put stuff up.
Oh, I see. I can understand that. In fact, there are different things that happen throughout the year that I really enjoy, and its quite sad when they finish. But, the consolation is that something else is coming around the corner.
Ooh, I hope all those tests go well. Oh, that's neat you get a week off from all but language!
You have an elevator at church?? Wow. Anyway, that's so cool that you understood what they were saying. (And, by the way, I assure you they didn't say "Soy bien." ) No problem (about the accents). Ok, so, ¿Puedes hablar mucho español ahora?
What? Why would I possibly sing at my teachers recorder in a DVD?
Oh, I see. Perhaps you shall someday!
Yes, it's quite a fun part! Oh? What happens to him in the future?
It's funny how our play is structured. I was watching the most recent Little Women movie that was made, and our play only goes half way. It ends right before Laurie goes to college. I don't know how that compares to the book, but, I rather like where it ends—it's a very happy ending, especially since Mr. March has just come home.
How do we get such long conversations going?
Mhm, I understand. It sort of takes an extra push when one is tired to put up the decorations...
That's true and does happy quite often! Except when it's things like coming back from camp, and there's not much that will suffice...or it seems quite so dismal upon returning.
Thanks, most of them did! (Apart from Math, where I wrote the wrong kind of linear equation when I drew out the right one. *sigh* I got 99%, so it won't ruin any record, thankfully, lol.) Yes, this week has indeed been fun with only language and a few other things.
Yep, the elevator's for convenience for VBS and the like since they recently built a floor especially for kids, and all so it's easier to move things from the kitchen to classes and stuff... I prefer the stairs, because I can put that as P.E. "climbed 3 flights of stairs" jk.
(Yes, yes...I meant, "Estoy bien" *always gets the two mixed up*)
All right, here goes: Si, pero no habla mucho español. Necesito ayuda.
How'd I do? ^.^
Well, I don't know why you would sing...it was the first thing that came to mind, randomly.
I hope that I can...one day, one day! =]
I bet it is. Oh,

That's an interesting way to end the play!

Ahaha, not sure.

Just used Lazarus to recover this!

This reminds me, yesterday my mom was helping a friend with some computer troubles, and the friend brought up something about Firefox and I was able to say some things in it's praise and recommend it. Do I earn a badge? ;]
*raises eyebrows* Wintystar? Hey! I'm good. and you?
Ah, you see, you see, I was in a random mood when typing that very post and I typed "Wintystar" and left it at that! Quite silly of me, I know. I shall be good now and just say "Winty" =] I'm quite dandy, thanks! What's been going on for you?
Oh goody we have your approval! I was so afraid we weren't going to get it!
Oh, dear, dear! This saddens me greatly, thinking what fear I must have put you in, in my absence from the Square. My deepest apologies. D:
On a non-joking note, I really did enjoy it! =]
Congrats on becoming a fanatic, Ben!
*waves to Lydia* How are you?
Cor:
Good to hear! School has been going wonderfully for the past few days, since it's mainly only language. (And I ended up having to do Spanish, but I quickly did away with it! Goody! ^.^ )
And that's good to hear, as well, that you had such a jolly time with your cousins. =] I've been doing good, thanks. Rather excited for Friday, as it's the day we leave for Winter Retreat. The only thing that stops that is my wondering whether to go tubing on one route they have...one needs helmet with it, so tha does say quite alot about it, and someone hurt themselves last year on it, so I'm not sure. [/ramble.]
Good to see you back, too, Djaq!
The other day, I was thinking about how we rarely talk anymore. Perhaps we should take up poetry again?
Not too much has been going on over here. We're expecting some bad weather towards this weekend but I don't think that's really of interest to anyone, is it?
D'aw, ditto. I think we should, if you would. It might take less time, as we both have practice in rhyme. Should we, perhaps, or instead...uh...count bottle caps?
Ditto. Aw, bad weather's not fun. We've had some snow lately, and it's been rather cold. I do hope it warms up by Friday, though!
Sounds like fun at your sister's house!
How exciting about your sister's birthday, Ruby! =] Happy Birthday to her!
And I believe I'm done with catchup! Hurrah! It didn't take an awful lot of time now, and I think I do have time to stay around for a few.
*goes over to the tall, chocolate tree and picks it's ripest. While eating the delicious piece, she recalls how grateful she is that the blessed tree does not ever cease its produce*
