Hello all! *Waves*
lol sometime I'll have to make you feel special
Maybe I'll pick you and Ruby......... maybe......
lol. Hey, was that a sort of reply to our last Ruby-Winter post? 'Cause that would make you the third person. and Mel the fourth.
Winter, how have you been doing lately? Anything exciting going on this month for you?
![]()
I've been doing good. You? I've got nothing all that exciting planned, unfortunately. What about you?
Neither do I. This happens to me a lot.
(Only slightly...)
lol, me too. Although, with a bit of thinking I can usually figure it out. I'm too lazy to go look, though.
(Um, I know we were talking about my predictability/nonpredictability but I'm lost. Let me guess, you predicated that!)
Yeah, well, I have less.
Ooh, that's a though!
Huh, I'm pretty sure Ruby and I are at the very end of Santa's naughty list.
A "though"? Don't you mean thought?
*is not the fourth person to reply to the Ruby-Winter post* This makes me very sad.
But if you still need someone to rescue you, I can come by in an imaginary conveyance that will get you home with only minor technical difficulties! (It's imaginary, so all problems in it are imaginary as well... [/lame])
Actually, you may be the fourth person. I still have to figure out what someone else said, (I tend to get a little lost when things aren't spelled out ) but then I'll see who the fourth person is! Hopefully, anyways.
See y'all!

*dances into the Square, humming "A Picture of Grace" by the Gaither Vocal Band* (Yes, the GVB again. Surprised? ) Well, I suppose it's time for me to ketchup. We're going to be at home for the rest of the afternoon, so I'll have lots of time to finish reading The Ordinary Princess and practice the piano and watch TV...once I finish the rest of my schoolwork.
NN95, you got snow back in October? We didn't get our first snow till... *thinks back* Yeah, that one in December where we got 22 inches.
How has school been going lately for you?
Mel, Halt is in Erak's Ransom a lot? I didn't realize that...ah, well, I was just skimming through the pages anyway. I did happen to see the part where , though, so now I've spoiled that for myself...
Benjamin, I hope your library gets Erak's Ransom soon! My library takes forever to order books. The last time I requested a book, it took nearly four months until they even ordered it.
Winter, I am doing fairly well, though I'm quite busy with schoolwork this month. Hm, nothing super exciting has gone on lately, except for when my mom took me and my sister to a Michael English concert back on Saturday. That was so exciting.
*exits the Square, still humming "A Picture of Grace* That song has been running through my head all day.

Mortereve, all! I hope this fourteenth day of January has been a great one! I has for me! Dear heavens! I haven't been in here in over a month!
Blimey! What a catchup is in store for me? Probably not a big one...at least I hope--that is...I'm not even going to fool with catching up over the past month.
Reading the Percy Jackson series has kept me busy for a week or so...Absolutely a fantastic series! Best books I've read in ages (ah...months actually)! I think I shall get one or two more Ranger's Apprentice book(s) tomorrow! That too is a great series !
Ohhhh! Gosh, Narnia Girl, I wish I wouldn't have read that spoiler ! Not to hard to believe though. Now, I know that they came out in Australia originally with, like, nine books (or some where near that number). I didn't realize there was one called Erak's Ransom...I haven't seen it in my local BOOKS-A-MILLION...I'll check that out tomorrow.
And writing has kept me busy! I've been knocking out a few chapters in my novel...I must say, 'tis not developing the way I'd hoped . Perhaps I need to put down the paper and pin (rather, fingers and keyboard) for a few weeks, eh? I just need something...great. Something that will give it real twist...I already have a fairly large one. But it needs something more to complete it's...twistyness. Anyway, I'm rambling!
*Leans back in his chair* Ah! it feels great to be back in the Square. I attempted a catchup yesterday morning. But alas, school tore me away!
Speaking of school...the morrow is FRIDAY! I'm pretty excited...with the first week of it (almost two) out of the way, I feel as if I could (and should for that matter) sleep half the day on Saturday! I think I'm going to watch Valkyrie tomorrow...I think it will be a pretty good film. I was actually reading the review for it today and read the review on Fame. Well, I don't about you guys, but I definitely think that Fame should have been rating PG-13 with all the language, content, and other things in it. Valkyrie looks like a PG or G film compared to Fame! Anyway! rambling...again.
Have a great weekend and remember to pray for those in Haiti
!
I met Georgie and Skandar AND saw the film in one evening.
Hey, it's me, a "Stranger in Paradise!" Actually, it really is me, in the flesh. I know I disappeared, but...from the darkest depths of ancient history, I HAVE COME BACK TO LIFE!!! Maybe you did not hear what I justh thaid. I thaid, I HAVE COME BACK TO--never mind, I'll just post now. (this has been a Kamunrah Moment)
I think a slight explanation is in order for where I have been since before Christmas...or whenever I was in here last. The week between Christmas and New Years was busy as we got ready for our trip, and then, the evening of the 29th, we began what was to be the finest trip of my 2009. Our flight to TN the next morning was delayed a bit, so we missed our connection flight in Memphis and had a FIVE HOUR layover, with the five of us being the ONLY occupants of the airport terminal the whole time. It was joyous. At least we had internet and iPods to connect to it with.
Finally, we got to our destination and the 30th was a grand night of playing Catch-phrase! On the 31st, some of the other kids and I made a few dozen chocolate chip cookies for that evening, and then...it was time for the dance!!!! We danced from 7 to midnight that night; it was so much fun! We did English country dancing, some square-dancing, Scottish dances, and finally, and bestly!, swing-dancing!! We had an absolutely capital time! Lissa and I taught our hostess' kids how to swing-dance, and that was probably one of the funnest parts.
We had another celebration, with Poker, Catch-phrase, phase-10, and music being played, on New Years Day, and then the dreaded day of departure fell upon us. That was sad.
But we had a great trip, and when we got home, I had a few days to condition myself for the college class I'm taking, and now that that has started, all nerves have surfaced and...yeah. It's going well so far, actually. It's an English class, and I love writing, so I am very excited.
'nuff about that. It's been so much warmer here lately, and the days are getting longer...I'm so excited for spring. Maybe more than I usually am, for some reason. Hm...
I am SO sorry that a catch-up isn't in my near future. I can multi-task, and I can divide my time, and I can confuse myself into a tizzy of decidedly massive chaos, but I have already done that, and to have the weight of a catch-up on me would probably push me over the limit. My deepest apologies to all you whom I left hanging. *sends hugs and waves to everyone about*
How is everyone's 2010 progressing so far?? Mine has been fine and dandy, though it started off terrible; having to leave TN was a bad start.
Oh yes...Edmund P, your mention of Haiti reminded me; my brother and a team from his church is going there in a few weeks. It was at first for a worship-conference, but they will probably do clean-up instead, since where they're going is 10 miles from where the hospital collapsed. I nearly cried watching the news tonight. It's so devastating!
I leave you now in hopes that everyone is doing well. I have homework, for, like, the first time in my life.
Tah-tah!

Hurray, it's Friday! But, alas, from now until May we have play practice early every Saturday which means no staying up late on Friday night.
lol, me too. Although, with a bit of thinking I can usually figure it out. I'm too lazy to go look, though.
(Um, I know we were talking about my predictability/nonpredictability but I'm lost. Let me guess, you predicated that!)

Oh! Guess what? I'm like officially a news reporter now (haha, not really). But I volunteered to write all the news articles for my dad's Robotics team. I think we get like one spot in the Newspress each week or something like that, which is really good. But I'm now having second thoughts about volunteering for more projects...
I'm thinking I might be taking on more than I can handle...ah well! We'll see how it turns out.
Now, as Narnia Girl would say, time for "ketchup"!

Haha. Well, isn't that the way it always works on the square? I'm still pretty good, a bit tired from late night school homework.
But I'm alive all the same.
Edmund P, good to see you on the square! How have you been doing? You probably already know this, but my sister and I just recently bought the newest Switchfoot album and I love it! Oh my goodness! It is absolutely amazing...enough said.
Well, that is all I have time for...time to get ready for Biology class and then finish writing my paper, and then write that analysis, and then finish that speech presentation, and that news article... *siiiigh*

Good mortereve all!
I'm back for a catch-up post. I may be gone all of next week (I'm going to go stay and help out with my sister who just had twins) so I thought I should get to it now before things get crazy and/or I forget.
I hope they're well!
And how are things with you?
Congarats on becoming a Mod, I'm sure you'll do fabulous!
They are. My Mom is staying out with them right now and will probably come home sometime tomorrow (then I'll go out Sunday and stay for the week).
Things are going good. School has started back up and that's been almost nice.
Having a schedule again makes you feel more productive.
Oh, thank you very much!
That's too bad. You really should, though, because rinks that don't get used much get closed down and then you'll be sad, because you wouldn't have anywhere to skate if you wanted to. Besides, skating is fun and really good exercise.

You make a very good point. I used to go there semi-often, but just haven't had anyone to go with or haven't had the time recently.

Oh, no worries! I don't mind. (I realize that I sounded kind of annoyed before and I didn't mean to. I'm sorry!) Ah, yes, I have heard about that.
Will you tell her that I said hello, please?
Djaq,How have you been doing? I wouldn't be surprised if you've grown a long white beard since I last was on here. Oh! I heard that you and flambeau became moderators! Yay!
I'm doing rather well, thanks. It's hard to type well with my arthritis, and my cane is inconvenient, but other than that I'm doing well.
And don't worry, I don't quite have a beard yet.
Thank you! It's been exciting.
Glad to hear the babies and their mother are doing well, Djaq.
What have you been up to lately?![]()
Yep.
School and reading mostly. I've also been working on graphic projects and such.

Ah, it's the ol' life again, eh? It does mean things like that, ya know.

Oh, so it was a modding-related issue eh? Suuure.![]()

I think that you've been through this with. . .Jojo? Lady L? Maybe both. I remember seeing it though.
You don't believe me? I think at that point. . . I was talking to some of the other mods about something, but I honestly don't remember what.
Sounds good! Soo... wanna pick a scene?
Lol! Hmm, the scene in NT1 where they show up at Ben's Dad's house after they stole the Declaration?
Thanks.

Ah, I see. Modding issues, of course.
Thanks for your sympathy.
No prob! Sure, take all the slack you want. Especially since you're a mod now.
Oh, that's neat! So, you've never been in a play before? That's too bad.
Hah, no. They aren't to blame for everything.
You're welcome.
Really? Thanks!
Well, I was in an Easter play at my old church (a few years ago), but it wasn't a "real" play. When did you first start acting on stage?
Yes, isn't it sad?
'Tis that.
Ditto. I am seeing the beginnings of the all the positive press. Once the trailer hits, I suspect forum activity will jump more than it did for Prince Caspian.

Mortereve all! Sorry for disappearing for a week.... Life got in the way (again).
Anyway, I'm back to make a catch-up post.
--------------------------------------
@ NN. Oh well. I highly recommend watching Batman Begins and possibly The Dark Knight. TDK is pretty disturbing (really, it is), so I would be more cautious about seeing that one. Begins is fine though. Also, stay away from the 90's Batman films.... complete wastes of time and talent.
Jerry Goldsmith usually did a great job with whatever score he did. It's taken me a few years, but I'm finally starting to find various Goldsmith scores that I like.
Well, as you know, it arrived the next day.
@ Lucy. Mmmhmm, we actually did get snow! It was more of a dusting really, but is stuck and lasted until the next morning. It was a lot of fun watching the snowflakes coming down.
I'm not sure how much we got exactly.... maybe an inch or so?
@ Libby. I'm doing very well, thank you. Been staying busy with school and writing for my blog. How about you?
@ Djaq. Haha! It was in the teens around here last week and over the weekend.
Well.... it was the best I could come up with on such a short notice.
Welcome!!! (about the congrats)
@ Fanny. You're quite welcome. I was happy to share my thoughts on the matter. To some degree this has been kind of a constant point of discussion for me with my parents, seeing as how some of of my friends and cousins watch rather..... trashy films/TV shows. Also, with discussions I've stumbled upon in SO about movies and content issues, etc.
Anyway, glad to have been of some help.
@ Winter. Ah, how true those words are. Ruby did post shortly after you.
Vern and I have been doing quite well. I've been busy with school, writing for my blog, Unilluminated (the RP I'm in), doing research on film scores and just life in general.
*I've been busy with keeping up with Cor, hunting and usual Royal Dragon duties. *
Wipe that smug look of your face.....
*Oh dear, it came out again, didn't it?*
Mmmhmm....
@ Ruby. Ah, tis nice to see you around again, miss Ruby!
*waves to Mel and Kat*
*waves to the passing Jojo*
@ Djaq, again. Hope you have good time (though busy time, most likely) with your sister and her twins!
BTW, nice avatar! And for once, I know what the character is from. Only because I came across Robin Hood on TV late one night....
-----------------------
Well, I think that about gets everything. I'll be heading off now, probably stop back by tonight sometime.

^ Short tribute to James Horner (1953-2015)
Good Mortereve everyone! I cannot believe tomorrow is Saturday again, my how time flies! I hope everyone has been having a pleasant week, though. For the most part I have been.
ForeverFan, I'm recognizing the lyrics on your signature but I can't place them with an artist/author, but I'm pretty sure I've heard them before! It's driving me crazy...where is that quote from?
I am sorry to have put you through such, er, pain. Believe me, it was unconsciously done. The song that the lyrics are from is "Wait and See" and the artist who wrote the song and sings it is Brandon Heath.
FF, yeah, I have.
School went much better these past couple days, I think. Though I wish that it was spring break now...
I watched most of City of Ember last night, there's still about a half hour left, though. I've really enjoyed it so far! They're keeping it fairly close to the book, so I'm pleased about that.
Oh good! Yes....I wish it was summer myself.
Ah well.
Did you enjoy the rest of The City of Ember? I agree, for the most part it was pretty good and, from what I remember of the book (I read it once, about two years ago) it stuck to the major themes/etc of the book and the events for the most part too.
(on Season 4 of Get Smart)Umm, we've just finished it.
We watch these way too fast.
You do indeed. No worries though- was the rest of the season good?
And how is life in general for you? I hope the play practices go well for you and whatnot.
They are.
My Mom is staying out with them right now and will probably come home sometime tomorrow (then I'll go out Sunday and stay for the week).
Things are going good.School has started back up and that's been almost nice.
Having a schedule again makes you feel more productive.
![]()
Oh, thank you very much!![]()
![]()
You're very welcome! I hope the week upcoming is a good one for you/the twins/etc!
I agree about having a schedule again feels nice- and it feels really nice to be getting things accomplished, even if it's just one lesson at a time. It's kind of hard to explain, but since it's my last year of high school this year, I like the feeling that every time I complete another lesson in the courses I'm taking & etc it means I'm one lesson closer to graduating... or something of that sort.
*nods* Ditto there! I think it all started for me because of friends/etc watching films that I wouldn't watch and discussing it with my Mom and Dad. It's been nice though, because even if I never get an "answer" that settles it once and for all, talking things over with my parents has really improved our communication and such, which I'm glad of.
How is life for you?
Hmmm. Some catch up. Ah well. I hope each one of you has a wonderful weekend!
Dear days of old, with the faces in the firelight,
Kind folks of old, you come again no more.
