Peter tried to keep a straight face. "You're not that crazy." Justin playfully kicked his leg under the table. "Ow." Peter looked at Jen. "You are not crazy. You are the kindest, smartest and prettiest girl I ever met."

Miley teased, "You two should kiss."

Justin smirked. "Yeah because you and Jen are way better kissers than me and Maralyn."

Miley laughed. "Dragging Maralyn into this, are we?"

Maralyn turned, "What I heard my name?" Everyone burst out laughing.

Nate had replied to Miley "I'm fine" His heart was screaming for him to vent... to vent about how much he missed Lyn, how much he was afraid of dying, how much he was going to miss Peter and the rest of them. but for some reason his mind wouldn't let himself.

Unlike Miley and Peter Nate had nothing to stop him from piling his plate a mile high with food "Not going to be eating much beside army food for a long time so I better enjoy this while I can" he had muttered while getting it.

Nate replied to Amanda "Oh come on, I hate the food" he said sarcasticly with a nod in the direction of his plate.

Nate looked at Peter as he chewed on the ice "Yah think?"

Peter smirked. "Nah. I expected it to be hot." He whispered in Nate's ear. "Do you by any chance know what Jen would want for Christmas?"

Kayla heard Peter whisper to Nate, and she poked Peter in the arm. "Hey! You're not supposed to ask anyone what she wants," she teased him. She turned to Nate, her eyes twinkling. "Don't answer his question!"

Peter laughed. "Aw man. Come on. A guy can't have a hint?" He batted his eyelashes in the most funniest way that Miley burst out laughing.
Miley said, "Oh, but it's not as cute when you do it."
Peter playfully kept batting them. "What do you mean it's not as cute. I thought it made me look very manly."

"Yeah, totally!" Chrissa exclaimed, rolling her eyes, while Kayla giggled uncontrollably.

Diane watched Peter and his friends teasing each other and playing around. They were really having a great time. She looked at Amanda and grinned.

Amanda caught Diane's grin and whispered, "They are something else."

Peter laughed. "Okay, okay. No hints. I won't ask anyone." He zipped his lips. "My lips are sealed."

Nate quietly chuckeld at the show before turning his attention back to his food.

Peter wondered how he was going to find Jen the perfect present. He wasn't allowed to ask, so he thought about what it could possibly be. He coudl give her ponytail holders or a necklace. With an innocent smile, he asked, "What do girls like to get for Christmas?"

Chrissa rolled her eyes again, struggling to hide a smile. "Oh, come on!" she retorted.

Kayla had to help him out, though. "Oh, you know," she said vaguely. "Stuff like diaries, books, bracelets...anything like that," she shrugged, grinning.

Peter was happy that someone finally had enough to compassion to give him a hint. "Thanks, Kayla."

On monday, since school was out for break, Peter went by a book store and found a copy of Pride and Prejudice. Wondering if it was the type of book she would like, he flipped through the pages. Interesting. He jumped when someone came behind him and asked, "What are you doing?"

Nate who had to buy something for Peter knew exacly what he would get him; soccer ball. He went direcly to the sports store and bought him a soccer ball with the schools mascot on it- Bob Saget. Then he back home to wrap it

twenty minutes later he slipped in the door "Hey mom, is Pete here?" he asked "No he went shoping" Angie replied "Ok, thanks" he rushed up stairs to his bedroom to grab tape, wrapping paper and other thing before he dropped the down one of the pole holes and then slid down himself.

Behind Peter, was Justin. He smirked. "Shopping for Jen's gift or reading it?"
Peter blushed, chuckling a little. "I promise you I'm shopping for her gift. I just need to see if she would like it. That's all." He teased, "It's called research you should try." He smiled and tapped his cousin with the book, as he walked away.

"Hey, Peter!" Jen rushed up from behind and matched her pace to his. Her warm breath made little white clouds in the frosty air as she talked. "Looking for a Christmas present, hmmm? Should I leave?" she teased.

Peter laughed, holding the bag in his hand, as snowflakes fell all around them. "Actually, I already bought it. I hope you like it."

That Friday, It was Christmas day. Peter sat in Nate's living room, glad he was able to get Nate a present last night and wrap it up neatly. It was a whistle forwhen he was in war needed it. He could also use ti when he came back home. It was time to open presents,. The red and green package had his name on it and was from Nate. To his excitemetn, it was a soccerball with Bob Saget, the schools mascot on it. He gave Nate a smile. "Thanks, Nate."
