"No," snorted Johny. "Just going there and seeing what's going on," he said carefully.

"Aw, please," Ally bumped her backpack into Stacey. "I hate goody-goody's," she said, using Stacey's term for them.

Chrissa stiffened and her hand automatically clenched. "Look, Pam we have better ways to spend our time besides talking to you," she said through gritted teeth. "So good-bye." She turned and began to walk away with Miley.

Justin's eyes opened wide. "But what if you get caught in the cross fires, Johnny? We would be upset if that happpened. You could get severely injured or killed? What would Miley and I do without you? I'm sure even Susan would be upset."

Stacey laughed. "Me too. Makes me want to corrupt them."

Miley followed Chrissa to class. She was going to ignore Pam, pretend she didn't hear. She saw Ryan talking to a couple girls and thought maybe Pam was right. "I guess I oughta take my dress back."

"No. Miley, no. Absolutely no, whatever you say. You CANNOT do that," Chrissa said, struggling to keep her voice quiet enough so that no one else would hear their conversation. "Please!" Chrissa was desperate. She hated the fact that Pam had the audacity to go and try to ruin Ryan and Miley's relationship.

Miley looked towards Ryan laughing with some of the cheerleaders. "When was the last time I made him laugh? I had a meltdown last night, My brother gets arrested and my cousin od's and gets his hair pulled out! He would be much happier without me at hte dance."

Jen giggled. "It old you I was irresistable!"
"Awww, how cute!"
Jen whirled around and saw Miranda. ((I'm sorry for making her pop up so randomly..))

Peter gave in to Jen's remarks "OKay, okay. I admit it." Then he tucked a long strand of blonde hair behind her ear and teased. "But I am too."
Then, he was startled to hear Miranda and whirled around to face her . "What's your problem?"

Miranda pulled out soem scissors. "I see you have a new patch of hair growing in, Baldy. Let's cut the rest of your hair off to be even with it."

Peter felt his heart beat real fast. He firmly said, "No thank you."

Miranda laughed. "Can't believe your still dating Jen if you love your hair that much. Her dad is the one who pulled your hair out. Remeber you were crying like a baby because you lost most of your hair?"

Peter snapped, "That is none of your business. GO away, MIranda and never come near me or Jen or Nate until you can learn some kindness!"

"It's alright, Peter. Let's go ourselves," was all Jen would say.

Jen and Peter were walking towards the barbershop after school. He really did not want shave off his hair, but he had to even it up, with the new hair and let it grow back thicker. Otherwise, bullies like Miranda would keep making fun of him. He ran a hand through his handsome, dark hair one last time.

"Wait! Are you sure you want to do this, Peter? Just because Miranda was being mean and thoughtless doesn't mean you have to!" Jen said. Thankfully, the barber waited, however impatient he was.
"Hey, I gotta job to do here, kids!" he said.

Peter ran a hand through his hair. "How short is it in the back where the hair just grew in?" He tried to stop himself from crying. "Will it grow back if it gets shaved?

"Not too bad," Jen said. "You really don't have to cut it if you don't want."

Peter drew a deep breath. "I don't want to cut it." He turned to the barber. "Sorry to waste your time. I just don't want it as short as the new hair that's growing in. Maybe I'll come again, but just for a trim." The barber said, "Okay, kid. Whatever you say." Peter's name was taken off the list and the two of them rushed out the barber shop. WHen they got far away enough, Peter gave her a hug. "Thanks, Jen." He ran a hand through his hair.

"I didn't want it cut, anyway." Jen grinned. "Wanna go to my house for a while?"

Peter smiled, wind blowing his hair back, causing a few strands to touch his cheekbone. "Yea."

Peter opened the door to Jen's house. "For saving my hair," He whispered with a smile he would never know was adorable, then stepped aside to let her in. "Actually I would open the door for you even if you didn't."

Jen blushed, as she walked inside. She could overhear her mother's soap opera, as Peter closed the door behind them. The girl was saying, "We can't go out anymore. My dad hates you."
She opened her mouth wide, not sure if her mom was watchign a soap opera or had someone spy on her and Peter, then record it.

Peter's eyes opened wide, wondering what was going on. Then, he heard a male voice say, "We don't have to break up. We can run away together." He snorted. Like that would ever work.

Jen sighed with relief. She looked at Peter. "Soap opera."

Peter laughed. "Explains it then."

Jen smiled, "Aw, soaps are not that bad."
Peter shook his head. "Okay, if you say so." Jen gave him a playful pout, causing Peter to tease, "Fine, they're awesome!" He shook his head. "Wanna watch it?"
Jen gave him a mischevious grin. "Last one to the TV room is a rotten egg!"
Peter opened his mouth. "You are so on!"
The two of them rushed to the TV room, and Peter won. He teasingly whispered in her ear. "You don't smell like a rotten egg."
Jen smirked, "Thanks, Pete."

Her mom turned around and asked, "Done with homework?"

The two of them looked at each other and smiled. Peter spoke up. "No, just wanted to see what you were watching. We are almost done though." HE hid his nervousness, fear that JEn's mom would disapprove of him again."

Instead, her mom pretneded to yawn. "Oh, just boring stuff people start watching when sixteen."

Jen laughed, "What I watch when she's not looking. I want to buy an outfit likethat girl's on there."

Peter said, "Well, you might want to go for something a little more modest."

Jen smiled, batting her eyelashes. "Yeah. But the same style. Then you will have to fight all the guys off."

Peter laughed. "Already think I do. You should have seen the way that one guy in Math looked at you. I was so going to give him my two cents."

Jen giggled. "Go for it."

Peter smiled. "I will next time."

Jen said, "Race you back to the living room. Let me win this time."

Peter shrugged. "Okay. You win."

The two of them laughed and chased each other to the living room. Jen asked, "Was a guy really checking me out?"

Peter said, "He was looking at you, looking down and smiling."

Jen thought for a minute. "Kick his butt next time."

Peter said, "I'll give him a nice lecture."

Jen teased, "Poor boy."

After school, Miley rushed to Chrissa's house, tears in her eyes. "Justin informed me Johnny is going in the military! What will I do without both of my brothers?"

Justin returned home to Maral;yn, who's eyes opened with delight. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him for a long time.

Maralyn pulled away from Justin. "So when is trial?"

Justin answered, "This Spring. Think Brad knows of any lawyers?"
Maralyn shrugged. "Worth a try."

He quickly dialed Brad's number, hoping he hadn't lost his best friend to the events of yesterday.

Stacey had finished her project with Zach, this time at her house. "Well, we are finished with the poster. Actually looks pretty good."
