Peter decided he and Brian should hang out sometime, to get his mind off things. He texted Brian, asking if he wanted to get together friday.

Justin woke up, his chest in pain. "Is there any medicine?"

"I've got five, in total. GoldenRod here, then Beauty and Beast who are both done there" Jack gestured, and turned around, pointing to two other horses who were peering out of their stalls observing them with big eyes. "That's Country" he said, referring to a Large Light Brown horse with a dirty blond mane and large brown eyes. "And that's Taylor." He explained, pointing to his last horse. She was a chestnut mare with gold mane and tale and one blue eye and one brown eye.

"Yes, Justin" Maralyn said, reaching for a bottle and opening it up. She handed him two pills and a glass of water.

Justin gratefully tooks the pills, forgetting his disfigurements for a second but feeling helpless. "Are you doing okay?"

Rosamunde walked over to the one he called Taylor, rubbing her nose. "My mama's name is Taylor. It's a good name. And, I think her eyes are that exact shade of blue. Of course, her hair is much lighter, identical to mine."

She looked at Jack and smiled. "You know, for breaking down, this afternoon has turned out to be pretty good."

"Agreed." Jack grinned boyishly. "I think you should break down in front of my house more often." he said, sitting up from his lazy position against the side of GoldenRod's stall.

Rosamunde arched a brow, the left side of her mouth lifting. "Well, than can be arranged, I guess...Though, I'm sure the towing company and my Daddy would complain." She winked, shoving the tips of her fingers into her shorts pockets.

"Well, we could sooth the towing company's worries easily enough and I'm sure your Father is a reasonable man" Jack said, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his lips. His red hair was rustled by a breeze which began to pick up and rush into the barn. He stepped a bit closer to her, half not realizing it. One of Ro's long light blond pieces of hair flew up, and he touched it, his normal grin returning.

Rosamunde was slightly surprised with his sudden nearness. She cleared her throat, blushing. "Daddy's very reasonable..." was all she said as she turned her attention back to the horse, who had stuck her head out of the stall again.

Jack sighed, and turned away, looking outside. "Well, I think we might want to go see about your car. And your parents might have gotten your message...." he said, not looking at her.

Rosamunde looked at him and frowned a little. "Hey, I'm not mad, Jack..." She shrugged, her voice quiet. "You just...surprised me, that's all."

She stepped toward him with a small smile, "But you're right, we should go check."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...." Jack shook his head, unable to find the right word. He looked at her though, the corner of his mouth pulling up. "Yeah....let's go see." he gestured for her to go first.

Rosamunde smiled. "It's okay."

She stopped beside him, ignoring his offer to let her go first, a mischievous look on her face. "I'll race ya back."

"Race me!?" Jack asked, seeing the mischievous look in her eyes. He laughed, and nodded. "Alright. On your mark....get set...1! 2!" he grinned and sprinted. "3!"

With a laugh, Rosamunde ran toward the house, staying even with him. However, when he gained a few feet in front of her, she exclaimed, "Ouch!"

She reached for her ankle, feigning a pained look and trying to cover up her smirk. "Ow..."

Jack stopped in his tracks, his boots sliding in the fresh mud. He came to her, concern written on his face and in his deep green eyes. "Rosamunde! Are you alright!?" he asked, slipped an arm around her waist so she wouldn't fall. "Did you twist it!?"
