"Sure thing" Eliza agreed "I'd just like to see if they've improved any since when I graduated. She grinned and added "Not that I blame them, they're just kids... But honestly, I think we had the worst team in the whole state."
Eliza started out the door and towards the football stadium.

"I think I'm alright," said Weydon. "But... I feel dizzy. Could you take the baby? I don't want to drop her by accident. By the way, where's Cassy?"

Karver was in shock as the whole story was explained to her. She knew the father was somewhere in the area, but she had no idea it was Justin. Their plan of finding the father was going so perfectly until the false accusations, and then all had seemed lost. Then suddenly, the answers just fell into their laps. It must have been ordained by God that Weydon and her birth father would meet.

"It was pretty easy," Karver replied when once she was able to speak. "I had studied how to do that sort of thing in college -- researching records and all. And since my father was the performing surgeon, the records were pretty much at my fingertips. How is Weydon? How is she taking the news?"

Justin answered, "She's in shock...so, what made you decide to come looking for me?"

When Amanda and Eliza got ot the game, she saw Miley taking a break form her cheerleading routine. She turned to ELiza, "THat's my friend, Miley."

When Miley saw Amanda and some other girl coming towards her and Grace, she said to Grace, "That's my friend Amanda. She graduated two years ago."

Peter pitched in, "Karver, he really does regret trying to get her aborted. It torments him alot. But, I guess I am kind of excited that his baby survived. After all, that would be my second cousin."

"So Weydon could meet her birth parents, of course," Karver answered. "All she could ever think about every night and every day was you -- wondering why she was aborted, and if she really deserved to live at all."
She listened to what Peter said, nodded, and answered, "Well, I'm glad to hear he's sorry. But that's really something you should be assuring Weydon, not me."

Justain assured Karver, "I told her I'm sorry, but I think it's too late now. The damage seems to have already been done. The only thing keeping her from crying is her baby sister."

Karver raised an eyebrow at him. She knew Weydon well, and couldn't picture her crying over this. Even though it must be extremely emotional for her, it was just those sort of dramatic, emotional things that made Weydon calm and grave, not crying. She also remembered Weydon was not very fond of babies.
"Apparently you don't know her very well," she told him. "But I guess that's no wonder. And I don't think it's 'too late' at all. Did she say it was too late? I wouldn't give up that easily on her if I were you."
After looking all these years for the man who tried to kill the child she loved, and then being sent to jail for no reason, she didn't feel particularly kind toward Justin.

Marlyn took baby Sarah from Weydon's arms, and cradled her gently. "Cassandra is in the waiting room, worried about you." her eyes looked at her newly discovered 'daughter' with worry. "If you aren't feeling well I'll call a nurse"

After a few reports, the policeman decided to let Karver go. He decided that she be escorted to Weydon to the hospital and Justin, Jen and Peter follwed behind. Once they got there, they all went into Weydon's room. Justin rushed to Maralyn's side, who was holding the baby. "How is Weydon holding up?"
Peter sat on the bed, next to Weydon. He felt compassion towards her and this time talked to her as a cousin, not a stranger. "Do you like basketball?"

As the three of them perambulated (I'm sorry, I've been doing a school assignment that assigns 'strong' verbs ) towards the school, Ally made a quick decision to let Stacey work her magic on her own.

Hopefully, she'd trained the girl well enough.

"Stace, I'm going to stop here and see if Zach can come. You guys don't have to save me a seat if I'm longer than twenty minutes, okay?"

She pulled open the glass door and the smell of food hit her in the face. "Yum," she said to herself. Ally's eyes searched around. She spotted Zach in his apron and tie. "Double yum." She headed towards Table 26.

Sydney tossed an empty cardboard box toward the front door. "So...is he cute?"

Bridget looked up, holding a newspaper-wrapped vase. "I'm sorry?"

"Johnny Thomas. Is he cute?" Sydney asked again with a little roll of her eyes.

Bridget stared. "Who are you and what have you done with my sister?"

Sydney laughed. "I was only asking. Didn't know it was illegal."

Bridget blushed ever so slightly as she stood. "He's..." She gave a nod. "Yeah, he's cute. If you must know."

"Cuter than Kenny?" Sydney asked, unfolding another box.

Bridget pulled the newspaper off of the vase and set it on the counter-bar that reached into the living room. "Oh, much cuter than Kenny! In personality and looks."

"Hmm. Then I guess I"ll like him...I mean, I liked Kenny, so why wouldn't I like Johnny?" Sydney shrugged her shoulders.

Bridget laughed and sarcastically said, "That's the spirit, Syd. Base every guy I meet off of my one and only boyfriend of 7 years, who dumped me because I became a lawyer...Ugh, that guy..."

Sydney laughed. "Hey, look at it on the bright side. He dumped you...which now means you can get together with Johnny."

Bridget shook her head. "Syd, stop jumping to conclusions. I just met Johnny last night, for crying out loud!"

"Fine, fine." Sydney said, holding her hands up defensively.

Bridget rolled her eyes and said, "I'm gonna go get some coffee." She walked out the front door, leaving behind a snickering Sydney.

"I don't need a nurse," Weydon answered. "I just need some rest."

Then the door opened and some more people came in. Weydon groaned. It looked like she wouldn't be getting rest after all.

She shifted uncomfortably in the bed, feeling like everyone was staring at her.

Peter asked her if she liked basketball. "Basketball?" she asked, confused. That seemed like a random question. "No, not really. Why?"

Then Karver peeked her head in the door.

Weydon's face lit up. "Karver! You're out of jail! I've missed you so much!"

Frank peeked at his watch. A whole four hours went by since he last spoke to Alec. He dialed Alec's number and demanded to know if he found Micah.

Peter was about to answer, when Karver came in. He was glad to see Weydon happy. She really needed, especailly with all she'd been through in the past couple days. "Weydon, would you like some time alone with Karver? We want to talk more to you but can come back in ten minutes, or some of us can."

Johnny regretted saying he would go to Bridget's house "in a couple of hours". When she said "yes", did that mean she wanted him to come in exactly two hours? Or did she accept "couple of" as "few"? Maybe "few" really meant "one and a half". Sometimes girls were like that.

But she was a lawyer. Are all lawyers exact about stuff? Johnny wondered.

It would be extremely awkward to arrive early. He would have to drive back home, and wait until Sydney came back. But what if he came too late? They might be already washing up, or even worse, in bed.

If he was too early, then he'd have to eventually come back. Double awkward!

Johnny banged his forehead against an unplugged keyboard. "My stupid mouth," he muttered.

Maybe he should have been more exact. Like, "Should I come at 7?" Then she could have said something precise, like, "No, how about 6:30?".

But it was too late. She was probably back at home. Was she waiting for him already? What if he came late, and she hated him forever?

They'd just met a day ago! That was too soon to have someone hate you forever.

But if he came early, she'd write him off as creepy. Or overenthusiastic.

Desperate thoughts webbed themselves across Johnny's brain like threads. Help. I need help. Johnny grabbed his phone and dialed Susan's phone number.

Alec saw the called ID and guiltily stuck his Death by Double Fudge Decadence Chocolate cake back into the hotel room's fridge.

"Hey, boss!" Alec swabbed his fingers on a paper towel. "I've almost got it. His email, I mean. I thought I might find something there, you know?"

"Huh? Um...yeah, of course! I've been working on it since I got back to my room." His eyes drifted to the fridge. "Just been cracking at it."

Frank coudl tell Alec's mind was preoccupied with somethign else. "What's going on, Alec? Am I interrupting something? Remeber, you have a job and you better be mean as a snake when you find the traitor!"

Susan lay in a hospital testing bed, hooked up to countless machines which were taking samples and what not. All she could think of was the long term effect of the devastating sickness she had just been diagnosed with. Cancer. It was more or less spelling death in one terrible word. There were tears still lodged in the corners of her eyes, and for once she couldn't harden herself to the truth. The doctor had nurses had left her alone for a time, and she absorbed the silence like it was the song of suffering. Just then her cellphone, set on a table near by, began to chime. Her pale hand grasp for it, and she retrieved it and flipped it open, answering with a weak voice "Hello?"
