Even though Harrison was a friend of Maralyn's, Justin was still suprised an officer would sactually be nice to him. "Well, my cousin and his friend wanted to know what was going on here, after I called you guys."
He looked at his younger cousin, who asked, "How's Weydon? Is she alright?"

"I wish I could say she was alright," the officer replied with a sigh. "We can't find her parents. And now that she is no longer in Karver's custody, she has no place to go." Suddenly an idea came to him. "Say, would you take her? I know it's a lot to ask. You made mistakes when you were younger, but you've changed since then. Your wife told me so. Do you want to take her in? Just temporarily till we find her parents? You would be supervised, of course."

"Great!" the officer replied. "I'm so relieved! And don't worry about anything. I'll send the supervisor over as soon as I can, and she'll help Weydon get settled in your house." He gave Justin one last smile before returning to work.

Stacey...not noticing...

"Stacey." Ally flicked a piece of pepperoni from someone's pizza up and popped it into her mouth. "I didn't bring my purse, so I'm just going to head home." She gave everyone at the table a little finger wave and started to walk off, then snagged Zach by the arm and dragged him along with her.

"Hey, Speedy Legs, don't you have better stuff to do than hang out with losers, too?"

Ian shrugged, sitting down with a plate of his own "Oh, mixed things. I've been too busy lately to do much" he took a mouth full of beans. He wasn't about to tell Micah he had spent months in jail for robbery. Not only would it shatter his confidence in him, but also Micah's trust for him to. He swallowed "I like to play guitar and sing" He looked up at his cousin, and saw a spark of curiosity in his eyes. "Want to here a song after dinner?"

Micah had no chance to answer for there was suddenly a knock on the door. Ian placed his napkin down, and watched with eye brows raised as Micah went to hide. Wondering, but not wanting to press his cousin, Ian just went to the door. He opened it an inch or two, then smiled as he saw the small girl there. "Hello" he said gently. She began, polity, asking him if he would like to buy girl scout cookies. He shook his head

"No thank you. But thanks for offering" he said, and closed the door as she curtsied and left. Ian locked the door this time and turned back to his food "you can come out now. No need to hide every time someone comes to the door."

"Give me that gun!!" Brandon hissed, snatching it from the boys grip. He checked it seeing it was a official brand, shiny and new. He couldn't believe what he had just been told "So, this whole time...it was murder!?"

"I don't know what to call it" The boy of 16 said to Brandon. "But, it's the truth Brandon. Face it. Some one tried to attentionality get rid of you, cause they knew you'd find out sooner or later."

Brandon slammed a fist into the wall "I can't believe it. So Mother and sister, and me....our boat was sunk on purpose. I was the only surviver...they knew someday I'd figure out so they tried to get rid of me. I won't let them have another chance. Thanks for the information....you've done me a great favor. I won't forget. I've got to leave now so no one get's suspicious, though"

Abigail waited or the door bell to ring. As soon as she did she wheeled herself over to the door and flung it open. Andrew stood there and he rushed forward meeting her in a crushing embrace.

"I heard what happened. I'm so sorry I wasn't here Abby"

Micah quickly got up from behind the couch and rushed back to his dinner. "Thanks for helping me. " He took more bites of his food, feeling more satisfaction form the home cooked meal than he had eating junk out of convienence stores. "What do I do, the next time the door rings?"
He nervously looked at his older cousin, hoping he would not be mad at the question. "What if it's my dad's goons next time?"
~~~~~~~~
Stacey shook her head, as Ally walked up to Zach. She gave her an amused grin, then turned to Declan and Rosemunde. "Wow, not many people here now."
Maya looked at Melisha's bruised body and thought that her past must have been a lot like hers. "So where ya headed?" It was very hot in the afternoon, so Maya pushed up the sleeves on her shirt, only to reveal an ugly red scar on her upper arm. Realized she had exposed her scar, Maya looked up to see if Melisha had seen it and pushed her sleeve back down. "So..." Maya wanted to break the awkward silence. "Do ya live 'round here? I'm from Texas."
"You, Will Scarlet, are strong, and true, and you fight for what you believe in. And that is why I love you."
"Alright," Officer Harrison began, talking to Ms. Josephine Johnson, the new supervisor of Weydon's case. "I hope all your training has prepared you for this case. We believe it may be a little harder than most. Your charge is a six-year old female named Weydon. We don't know her last name as of yet. All evidence suggests she was a victim of kidnapping, but no one has been able to get a confession out of our suspect. We've tried asking questions to the little girl as well, but she too will reveal nothing. No one is sure where she's from, who her real parents are, or why she is protecting her captor.
"Justin -- the man in the waiting room -- has volunteered to take the child into his home until more is revealed of her situation. Your job is these three things -- 1. to observe and ensure that the family treats the girl well and provides all her needs. 2. to observe the girl herself, speaking with her often, making sure she remains emotionally stable. She has been through a lot, Ms. Johnson. The task may not be an easy one. And finally, 3. When the opportunity arises, to get any information out of the girl that you can. This case is at a dead end. There is no evidence for us to go by. If we ever are going to find her real family again, we must make the girl talk.
"If you have any questions, now is the time to ask. If not, Ms. Johnson, you may step into the waiting room where the man is, and introduce yourself. Get his home address, and tomorrow morning you will take Weydon to his house, and help her begin her new life."
"Thank you Officer Harrison. I'll do the best I can." Josephine said. "I'll go talk to Justin now." Josephine smiled and left the room.
She stepped into the waiting room and walked straight up to Justin and Peter. "Hello. My name's Josephine Johnson, I'm Weydon's supervisor." Josephine said with a smile. "I'll be coming a couple times a week to check you and your family, and to talk to Weydon. The police haven't been able to get any information out of the suspect or Weydon, so I'll be asking Weydon questions. If you could give me your address I'll bring Weydon by in the morning."
Justin was calling his wife, Maralyn to make sure it was okay for him to temporarily adopt Weydon. Since she agreed, he waited for the supervisor. A woman introduced herself as Josephine Johnson. He gave her his address and his telephone number. "I work as a youth preacher. So, she will be with my wife during the day."
Josephine's face light up when she heard Justin was a youth pastor.
"I'm glad Weydon is going to a Christian home!" Josephine said in a rather relieved, and glad sort of tone. "I'm sure you'll take good care of her. Tomorrow when I bring Weydon I'll also bring some papers you'll need to sign, after you sign them you need to send them to a certain address, which I'll give you tomorrow." Josephine smiled again. "I am so glad Weydon is going to a Christian home. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I may or may not have the answer, but I would probably know who to ask."
Zach rolled his eyes. "Because we all know that you are such a winner, Allison." He jerked his elbow back to free himself, but she had the nasty advantage of long, sharp nails.
"Excuse me? Excuse me?" Ally dug in a little deeper. ""Allison"? Who made you boss of the world to call me that?"
"This isn't a democracy." He leaned into her, knocked her off balance, and freed his arm.
"Exactly my point." Ally waited for Zach to shoulder open the mall exit door and followed outside. Why does he have to walk so fast?! She rubbed the side of her stomach and leaned forward to keep up. "Hey, hey...slow down."
"You won't have to walk so fast if you let go of me." Zach grinned at her.
"Oh dang!" Ally stopped in her tracks.
Justin was not used to someone fangurling over him because he was a youth preacher :p , but was glad to help Weydon. He didn't want her to grow up feeling scared and alone. "I will be ready tomorrow."
Josephine smiled, she had noticed his expression and she seemed to find it rather humorous. "Good. I'll be there around 10 AM then." She said, then she left the room.
