Maya breathed in deeply, then sighed contently. "Beautiful."
Maya looked over to Emmy. "So, where do you live?"

Emmy pointed down the street. "I live just down the block, that way," she replied. Even as she thought about her home, she started to wish she could go there, and be alone. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy the company of Jen and Brooklyn; they both seemed very nice. But she was beginning to feel that common anxiety she often felt around other people; the need to hide away, to keep from being hurt. Last time she got close to a friend, that friend betrayed her. She couldn't let that happen again, even if Jen didn't seem to be that sort of person. Emmy just preferred being alone; and the more she thought about it, the more she wanted it. But she didn't want to be rude, either, so instead she asked casually, "What time is it?"

The movie continued on. Some parts were very familiar to Logan, other parts he barely remembered seeing before. It soon got to the part where Peter and Caspian were fighting right after the Night Raid scene. "Boy, those guys... kind of arrogant, huh?"

(((Feel free to capitalize on that remark, whoever wants to... )))

Peter snorted. His friend just pointed out someone else was arrogant. "Wonder who that sounds like."
He gave Logan a teasing grin.

Jen looked at her watch. "five o'clock."

Maya looked over at Jen when she stated the time. Maya's stomach gurgled as if to say it was time to eat. Maya laughed softly threw her nose. "I guess it's time to eat. How's hungry? I know I am."

Jen could feel a hunger weakenss coming in. "I am. Well, we can go out somewhere, if my mom says its okay."

Logan was slightly shocked by Peter's remark, and immediately knew he was probably referring to him. "Who, me?" He scoffed. One thing he hated was having his faults pointed out, so he quickly pointed the finger elsewhere. "Reminds me of Brian," he said with a grin, though the look he shot at Brian was much less cordial.

Emmy responded quickly. "I don't know... My mom is probably starting to prepare dinner right now," she said urgently.

After he said that, Miley walked in to see Peter had some guys over and they were watching Prince Caspian. "Well, today was a crazy day, wasn't it?

Jen said, "Okay. Then, with a smirk she said, "Make sure you check up on Logan in case he forgot to keep track of time."

"Well..." Maya paused. "I don't have nu'in' ta buy som'in' ta eat." She didn't want to sound as if she was dirt poor, even if she was, and didn't want them to think she was homeless, or find out why she was here.

Jen tried thinking about this. "I'll ask my mom if you can eat with us. Is that okay?"

"Sure. I don't really care. Neither does my family." Maya didn't bother to say that she didn't have any family felt; any to speak of.

Jen asked her mom, who said yes, then rushed out to tell BRooklyn, her mom said it was okay.

"M'kay. Good. What's for dinner?" Maya asked

Jen said, "She's making sloppy joes. And vegetables."

"Sloppy Joe's! Oh, that is one of my favorites!" Maya exclaimed.

"I'll go home, my Mom probably wants help getting dinner ready," Emmy said. She said goodbye, and began the short walk to her house, which was in the same neighborhood just down the block and around the corner. On the way, she pulled out her cell phone and dialed Logan's number.

"Hey what's up?" Logan said quickly. He hadn't bothered to check the screen before answering, so he didn't know who was calling; he thought it might be one of his old friends from the city.

"Logan, where are you?"

"Oh, hi Emmers." Logan said, the tone of his voice dropping to an obviously less interested note.

"Are you still at Peter's house?"

"Why do you care?" Logan replied, clearly annoyed.

"It's quarter past five."

"Okay, and that concerns me... why?" He chuckled.

"Time to go home. Dinner's probably going to be ready soon," She said, exasperated with him.

"Alright, alright," he sighed, "We're finishing up this movie. There's only like-- He Pete, how much longer would you say there is? --- Oh, okay. There's only like fifteen more minutes. I'll come when it's over... just back off a bit, okay?"

There was a click as he hung up. Emmy growled with frustration and snapped her flip-phone shut, just as she headed up her driveway and into the house.

"That was Emmy," Logan explained with a roll of his eyes. "Trying to tell me what to do. Gosh, she's annoying sometimes."
