"Ain't I a stinker?" - Bugs Bunny
I confess I'm too fond of the 'bad dream trope' for poor Erik. I really should stop using it; I've read that dream sequences should be used sparingly in stories.
But on the other hand, it's just so much fun!
This latest segment may cause complications in my future-set NaNo stories if I allow it to become 'canon.' We'll see.
Anyway, to my movie night collaborators, any thoughts on advancing that story arc?
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I submitted my tax report today - so now I might have time for other projects again ...

Glad to hear it, Varna! I'm looking forward to this part of the story. Let me know if Erik and Abby can do anything to help.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
It took until my summer holidays to actually start writing. I think I'll make a small segment first, which could be posted as soon as I get starkat's approval - and then I've started on the main movie segment, writing it as my version, which should be added to and perhaps edited by the other participants.
Expect PMs soon

I just posted the first of four segments for basically explanation and introduction. I'm basically posting them as I have the opportunity right now, but they're all written.
So, as of this point, I've really only got two more posts to write for these characters--one doesn't use Phoenix Archer or Kirane and can basically be posted at any time, the other one is pretty much a fun one. (No more details for now. ) But basically, as of this point, both characters are open to just about anything. Kirane will certainly be interested in anything . Hope to have them all up soon!

I enjoyed reading these segments, Ryadian. I was able to offer you comments about them directly at the Moot.
It was an awesome experience to be able to talk face-to-face with so many Ditto Story writers in Wichita! Great times...
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
'Twas truly a pleasure collaborating with Varna, leuth, and starkat for the movie night segments.
*begins comtemplating the next bit of plot*
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Awesome posts! I liked the different reactions, especially how Varna was able to pretend it was a different story so she could enjoy them. That's how I view movies based on books or real life. It's necessary!
Good job on your latest post, narnianerd and Sonny! Nice cliffhanger.
Some of us may be busy this month with NaNo, but I've posted the next segment of Abby's day about town. (Much of it was written before NaNo fever struck).
It includes a few shoutouts to earlier Ditto Story developments.
She's planning Eliana's baby shower, but never fear, everything is subject to change as fits the deHonds' schedule and wishes. Abby understands this:
...I’ll have to check everything with Eliana, she thought. I hope it’s okay to have it in the evening, so we’re sure to be awake.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
My deepest apologies for falling off the face of the story once again. Thanks to Sonny for the pm that got me back. I really am intending to be "back" now that my priority list is a bit more straightened out than it was.
Good to see you again Kat! It would be fantastic if you stick around we get to hear more of you have planned! Loved the poem in the middle, although I'm guessing that belongs to another author?
I'm wondering what Sonny and narnianerd are up to as well. Very, very interesting segment.
Anyways, a few of you knew my most recent post has been coming for a while. I'm sorry I was so slow to actually write it. Anyways, I'm all caught up and ready to collaborate if people are still interested.
Also, as I'm doing NaNo unofficially and counting the Ditto Story towards my word count, now would be a great time to contact me for collaboration pieces because I'll probably have my bit done the day I know about it.
Great to see the Ditto Story active again, and with such good segments too!
Fun wordplay in yours, Aravanna, such as the line "(where the cranky talking bucket barely made the top- ten- weirdest-things-Alex-had-seen-that-day list.)"
Great lines abound; I also like this one: "...even if he couldn’t play guitar to save his soul. (And if your soul is in jeopardy, circumstances probably make it even harder to play.)"
I liked your segment as well, kat; nice to see Katherine back in action. Interesting dream sequence - and tie-in not only to the beginning of this story (the Nine) but to an earlier one with the poem quote in the middle. Eager to see what Aria has to say!
Anyways, I'm all caught up and ready to collaborate if people are still interested.
Sounds like fun! I have an idea for a light-hearted bit; I'll send you a PM. (Like the past couple years, my NaNo story is one with my story characters, set sometime in the future. Gotta make sure my timelines stay properly separated )
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Well, I've caught up on the recent segments, and you guys are doing some great stuff! Very fun reads!
Varna/leuth/stargazer/Kat: Loved the movie night segments! The comparisons between the movie and what really happened ( ) were fun and clever, plus it was just fun to see all those characters interacting.
Sonny/Little Joe: The plot thickens! Even with what you've posted before in the Library, you guys left me wondering. Especially with that "Aagh, what happenened?!?!" ending.
stargazer: I just have to say, d'aww. Molly makes any scene adorable, and the reference to the Emporium's namesake was a nice touch.
Ara: Well, I already mentioned that your posts made my day. I loved Alex's astute observation about Ditto Town's nature ( ), plus just all the nods to Ditto Town's history... and some of the things that don't quite make sense.
Kat: Hmm, interesting... I'm curious to see if this was dream, or a prophecy. (Sorry; stargazer'll get that one.) Like, some kind of message, or maybe her mind piecing together memories, or... you know. Also... *keeps mouth mostly shut* I have a pretty good guess about who you mean, and I'm a bit excited for his/her potential return.
For the record, I have been working on the Ditto Story in my absence. However, I'm currently wavering between one of two posts. One of them will go up as soon as I'm done with it (just giving Ryana and Kirane an excuse to go into town , but the other... that one's a little more "plot" oriented. (As in, establishing something I don't actually have plans for right now. ) And it involves introducing more villains, not that we really need more of them right now. So yeah, I'm trying to decide if that's worth it or not.
Other than that, though, I'm open for collaborations. Ara, I'll probably be PMing you after I finish and post the segment I mentioned earlier.

Good segments, all!
Aravanna, I sent you a PM some months ago - we should continue that discussion. In a few days, though, as I've been rather busy this week (have only had time for 215 NaNo words ...)

Segment posted! I will admit, I had a bit too much fun reminiscing about Ditto Town history. But, now, Kirane and Ryana are both free for whatever may come up, either collaborative or spontaneous. I'll probably be sending out a couple of PMs soon to arrange a few collabs, if anyone's interested. In the meanwhile, if anything comes up, I'd be happy to jump in!
