If the dream sequence is going to be of the Stone Table, they could just use a clip from LWW itself, couldn't they? That's what I'd prefer, anyways, rather than resurrecting the WW up again with a whole new appearance. 8-| I wonder what exactly Jadis will be doing in the dream... :-?

There is, of course, the possibility that she will not come into the movie at all.

Unfortunately, there is not that possibility; It has been confirmed that the White Witch will indeed be in the movie. For the record, that's not the same shot of Aslan as the one on the LWW poster. ;)

I'll always be a,

Exactly.

I know that in the Focus on the Family version they imply that Lucy's nightmare has to do with the Witch but it is never said what her dream is of in the book. It never would have occurred to me that that it was a possibility that she dreamed of the witch. I didn't even notice the Witch's scream in the background of the Focus on the Family version until it was pointed out.

Movie Aristotle, nice list. :p It was entertaining at least. ;))

*Sigh*

Since she has to be in the film 8-| , I think a dream sequence (more specifically a Dark Island dream sequence) is the best place to put her. Assuming that the dream sequence is in the Dark Island, and that she's in either Edmund's or Lucy's dreams, I do hope she appears in Lucy's rather than Edmund's dream for a couple of reasons.

First, I did like how the WW was in Lucy's nightmare in the Radio Theatre version of VDT. It makes sense that she would still haunt Lucy, especially as she's portrayed in the Radio Theatre version... killing Aslan. You don't just forget seeing that.

Second, I really don't want her to be in Edmund's dream. It seemed like the filmmakers wrapped up the Ed and White Witch story arc in PC when they had Ed "shatter" her. It would be like they were revisiting something that had already been dealt with...

Oh. Wait... 8-|

"Oh telescope, keep an eye on my only hope,
Lest I blink and be swept off the narrow road.
Hercules, you've got nothing to say to me,
'Cause you're not the blinding light that I need.
For He is the saving grace of the Galaxies."

Just two minutes, or even a minute, of the White Witch is hardly anything.

I do wonder what small part she will play in the narrative. In PC her brief appearance was the big symbolic moment where both Peter and Caspian had lost hope and faith in Aslan, and then realised it. That small part was quite critical for the character arcs of Peter and Caspian because the conflict between them ended and they realised the consequences of turning away from Aslan and from themselves. The scene was about inner turmoil and conflict of their faith and beleif. Who should they trust, Aslan who has not showed himself, good, or the White Witch, the epitome of evil, who did. In about 5 minutes they showed a lot. Now with VoDT I beleive they probablly will do something similiar with either of the characters... otherwise they just wouldn't bother with her.

The Witch has a lot of meaning behind her and using her image is very symbolic. A journey to Aslan's country... i think it's justifiable to make her face pop up on their way to Aslan. They said this is a very character driven film.

I think the symbolic reason of the WW in VDT definitely being the scene of the dark island is probably going to test Lucy's courage in Aslan. I bet that is the reason for it.

There may be lots of thoughts about yet another Jadis cameo in this next film. I however have no problem if it keeps Tilda Swinton in line to eventually appear in the Magician's Nephew.

I think her cameo in VDT is necessary. It's already proven that it will be a dream sequence. Just as long as she isn't dragged to appear in any of the other films. The production needs to learn that we need to let go of certain characters and is not necessary to always bring these characters back that don't belong in the story to begin with. But i'm letting this slide in my opinion of WW's cameo. I hope MN is the last movie that she will appear in.

The moviemakers apparently like her so much that we're going to see Jadis in SC (instead, or as Lady of the Green Kirtle), HHB (She bewitches Rabadash) and LB (Instead of Tash) :P

Reepi those would all be a nightmare come true! :-o

Although I hope her name would be mentioned in HAHB a little bit. I wouldn't mind that! ;)

An interesting quote from Tilda Swinton regarding her appearance in the film, and in the trailer:

Well, I’m amazed that that they would put [my scene] in the trailer, because I spent less time filming it than I spent speaking to you [in this interview]. [NOTE: This interview was 23 minutes long.]

http://www.examiner.com/x-3767-Celebrit ... big-screen

Obviously a bit of an exaggeration about the shortness of the time she spent filming.;) And of course Tilda is notorious for being deceptive in interviews about her post-LWW Narnia cameos ;) ,but still.... an interesting and pleasing quote all the same :)

Yeah well you also have to think about how many times they possibly filmed her for. It sounds to me she'll be there for merely 5 seconds. ;)

I keep thinking about how Perry Moore said she’s in the book in a surprising way. For some reason this and her lines from the trailer make me wonder if she is going to be in the Deathwater Island scene and it’s a visual way to show the enchantment and how the greed is taking over their minds. Maybe while they are suffering from gold fever Edmund sees the witch and is tempted.

Just for the record I hope am wrong about this scenario. If she has be in the film the only place she should be is the Dark Island scene. That’s the only way to still have it true to the book.

Tilda's quote comforts me a little. Keep in mind, I'm not too upset that she's in the movie, I'm just upset that she's trying to tempt Edmund of all people. How will Ed respond??? Oh the suspense...
