Hello all!
I have been reading some recent articles and posts discussing the recent change in the actor who is cast to play Reepicheep.
I was wondering what you opinion was; do you think the Reepicheep in PC is closer to that of the book or do you think the one in the upcoming VODT will be closer to the book's character.
Also please abswer the poll above.

I think the VDT Reep will be much closer to the books then the PC Reep.
One little note: you should rename your topic, since you are actually asking which Reep we expect to be more "Canon" - not which Reepicheep we like.

I think Reepicheep in the Prince Caspian movie will be the most like the Reepicheep in the Prince Caspian book.
and i think Reepicheep in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie will be the most like the Reepicheep character in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader book.
I'll let you know once I see the movie.
Ok I changed the topice from 'Which Reepicheep version do you like the most?' to 'Which Reepicheep do you expect to be most like the book?' This is just so everyone knows that this is the same topic.
Thank you Adeona for clarifying that!

I agree with icarus. Reepicheep goes through some major development between PC and VDT. He hit the mark perfectly in PC and I believe he will in VDT as well.
Although it would have been nice if they didn't recast him.

I'm thinking VDT will be the best for him. He was all right in PC, but since VDT is when he goes to Aslan's Country and everything you kind of have to portray him the way he is in the books. I mean, I don't know. Just my opinion.

I didn't like Reep in PC. From what I can see so far it seems they're going to make him better so I'm hoping and biding my time
Reep in VDT. I really hope they make Reepicheep a little more serious in the VDT film, which I bet they will. In PC I think Adamson was crossing the line with many things and tried too hard to make Reepicheep funny, but he already is in the books just not overboard.
I seriously hope they keep in the lines:
Reepicheep: With your Majesty's leave-
Caspian: No Reepicheep you are not to attempt a single combat with it

Before listening to the podcast, I would have voted for Reep in VDT. Now I realize that in PC (the book) Reep was not as developed as he was in VDT (he had a different purpose as a character) and that in VDT he has a slightly different role.
Am I sad to see Eddie Izzard go? No, I don't think he could have completely fulfilled Reepicheep's role in VDT, although he did the best job he could considering the script. I am interested in seeing if Bill Nighy's richness of voice will ennoble and deepen Reep's character a bit.
So I voted both.
Quod Erat Demonstrandum
I think Reepicheep in the Prince Caspian movie will be the most like the Reepicheep in the Prince Caspian book.
and i think Reepicheep in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie will be the most like the Reepicheep character in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader book.
Precisely my opinion. He's technically an older mouse now and to me he seem more reflective in VDT

I had noticed this when I read PC for the second time, after VDT and before I watched the movie. I had always remembered him as he was in VDT, but in PC he was a tad bit immature and not as developed. I think a lot of us have a habit of remembering him as his post-tail restoration self, not so much before that. (That's my secret theory as to why some people didn't like his adaptation in PC, although his scene with Patterwig was taking it a bit to far, as much as I enjoyed it.)
I still stand as I have said previously, I believe both adaptations will be spot on.

Reepicheep will most likely be like the book character in VDT. I am very sad though that Eddie Izzard isn't playing him anymore!!
"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"
now that I have heard more about VotDT, I think Reepicheep will be the best in that one! I will just have to see when the movie comes out!
