I can't exactly describe it, but there was something in the tone and / or words that just seemed a bit unfair. If I'm remembering correctly Ed said something like "I'd say" which has a hint of a suggestion rather than a command. I could be imagining it, but I also think I heard a slight question in his voice when he said Drinian. Caspian seemed rather embarrassed by the scene as well. To me the scene seemed like a forced set up for Ed's interaction with Caspian on Goldwater.

That's the feeling I got as well. Drinian seemed to hit him down a little hard, and I didn't think it was necessary. Also Ed was just doing what Cas should have been doing the whole time. It definitely feels like the whole thing was Caspian's fault for not stepping into the position, so Ed went ahead and took the wheel like he always does.

Still disagree and thought Edmund spoke a little too quickly and out of turn. He really didn't give Caspian much of a chance to give the orders he eventually did.

And Caspian had been giving orders on the Dawn Treader a while before the arrival of the earthly trio from our world. He had been king for 3 years and was very used to giving orders. And I still support Drinian's attitude and what he said and how he said it.

But it is apparent that a certain degree of disagreement will remain...agreeably so. :)

I enjoyed Drinian in the movie, I thought it was nice to have someone older and wiser on board, I never really thought of him as young when I read the book, maybe I skipped something, but I always thought of him as an older sort of fellow who was there to make sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing. I really liked the way they portrayed him in VDT, hid apprehension of uncharted waters was perhaps the only thing that annoyed me a little, but only a little, I thought it would be natural that sailors would be supersticious of uncharted waters.....sailors always are :p so it didn't bother me all that much :) :) other than that I really enjoyed the way they made his character, how he was this no no nonsense sort of fellow who really knew what he was doing and knew what everyone else should be doing too. I thought he was the sort of person I wouldn't mind being captain of a ship that I was on, I felt like you could really trust him he was loyal and brave :)

I didn't feel like he was a real character, he just was in the background ready to offer comic relief whenever it was necessary. In the books he seems very loyal and a good natured person, not as gruff as he was in the movie. He wasn't memorable at all.

I think that Drinian was really good. Though pretty rough, there was something really likeable about him.
