I certainly did not want Trumpkin and Dr Cornelius to be on the Dawn Treader as they were in the leaked script, but I must admit that I was very disappointed that he was not at all mentioned. Trumpkin was Lucy's best friend in Prince Caspian, and it seems odd to me that she wouldn't ask Caspian where he was, or what he was up to. I think it will also now be weird to see Trumpkin in Silver Chair, as we sort of just skipped over him in VDT. Any thoughts or opinions?

It seemed to me like Trumpkin being Lucy's best friend wasn't as developed as even the Susan/Caspian romance. Trumpkin saves Lucy from the bear, and Lucy heals Trumpkin with her cordial, but this is going on while characters are busy saving each other left and right so I didn't feel like a deep friendship was developed.
To mention Trumpkin in VDT when he never appears at all would be distracting, I'd think.
