I have to say that everyone suggest for LOTGK I disagree with. She should purely be unknown. I will say that I would love anyone to play her if she has Natalie Dormer's looks. That is how I picture her.

I don't like Susan (never have or will) so sue me!
I actually disagree about her being an unknown. For many characters, especially the kids, I do think they should pick an uknown.
But I do think they should get good high profile actors to play the parts of Puddleglum and The Lady of the Green Kirtle. I just think those roles almost require someone who's well known either to stir up hype or to do the characters justice.
I say Johnny Depp for Puddleglum and Kate Winslet for The Lady of the Green Kirtle.
And for all of the characters in HaHB and the Last Battle, I think they should be unknowns. Digory and Polly should be unknowns as well, but I'd get a great fairly well known actor for Uncle Andrew.

How is it that Gemma Arterton's name has not come up so far in this discussion? As one of the biggest young up-and-coming British female actresses, she seems like far too obvious a candidate not to have been mentioned, even if her prior associations with other big franchises (Bond, Prince of Persia, Clash of the Titans) might make her a less preferable choice.
Hey, on another lady of the green kirtle topic, I half-mentioned that I would like Tilda Swinton to play that role too, even though it might be another character. What do you think?
Sui-Lun, some conversation on that very question got started here: http://www.narniaweb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1468. I think we're just trying to keep this thread on who should play her if they are different actresses.
icarus, ooh, I'm smacking myself atm for now thinking of Gemma Arterton sooner! She is definetly a top-notch actress, and while she's been in quite a few films already--James Bond, St. Trinian's, Prince of Persia, and she has one coming out soon-- Tamara Drewe, I don't think she's so well known that the movie would be all about her. She's an "up and coming" star, and TLOTGK could be one amazing role on her climb to the top! Not to mention she really looks that part--sweet enough, but sinister enough

I think Cate Blanchet would work well.
Cate Blanchet could be a good choice but she's so Victorian looking, but maybe that's just me.

Jill+Tirian! Let there be Jilrian!
She does alternate between creepy and nice very well, at least she did in LotR. It would be interesting to see her take on the role.
And she is definitely regal enough to play a witch
I have been wondering why some people think that the WW is the LGK. Lewis never says this, all there is to suggest this is the owls think "she is one of the same crew" which just means she is a witch.
aragorn2, the most recent discussion for the WW vs LOTGK is in this thread which is still open.
The topic here is for who should play the LOTGK.

There is definitely no "a" in definite.
The Mind earns by doing; the Heart earns by trying.
What? Kate Winslet is too old to play LotGK but Cate Blanchett isnt? Um, Kate Winslet is younger.
Winter Is Coming
Although i'm pretty much only mentioning the following actress due to her frequent green-dressed appearances in another popular fantasy adaptation (the BBC Merlin TV Series) i still figured she was probably worth a mention, and am a bit surprised she hasn't been brought up before, if only for the aforementioned Green Dress + Fantasy reasons.
Ooh, interesting choice, Icarus! Katie does have a look that can work for the LoTGK. Sadly, I've not been impressed with her acting so far on BBC Merlin. She's beautiful, though-- without a doubt!
I'm not sure if she's been mentioned yet, but I like how Bryce Dallas Howard looks. She's my favorite actress, but she's alright. I've actually only seen her in Spiderman 3. I'm bummed that she was in Twilight, though. Maybe that will shame her name forever, because (apparently) she was horrible in it.
