If they are going to show a flashback of them getting married then they have to sort of show them all at once. Maybe as Eustace and Jill learn what happens they do some quick flashes of what happened. I think it could work, but it would have to be quick flashes of these scenes.
They could tie in the Caspian-Lilliandil marriage flashback with the one they would use to show the green snake attacking Lilliandil.

Yes i agree Trufflehunter, but i do think it would have to be sort of a flash through history if they did it that way. I am not sure how that would all play out.
In this situation I hope the flashbacks starts at the very beginning of the movie. Kind of like how LOTR ends and the other movie starts where it was left off, we see Caspian go back to Ramandu Island, have some jump cuts of them on the island as they start to know each other and then they start to fall in love, we see them getting married, then after that they can introduce Rilian and leave out the sequences of Lilliandil getting bitten by the serpent until Eustace and Jill hear about it in the owl cave. That way the reason for Rilian's capture wont be known in the beginning and it will give off more info on how the King Caspian was trully in love with Lilliandil.

But it might be cool for the audience to know what happened even if Eustace and Jill do not yet??? just an idea..

Do you know why I think that Lilliandil's relationship with Caspian was done the way it was? Having seen what you all have to say, not to mention what King Caspian found out in that article, as well as taking into account Apted's comments prior to VDT's release, I think that there just may be already some sort of plan on how they mean to do Silver Chair. They just haven't organised a script yet.
My guess is that it will start in one of a few ways:
1. Caspian will present his new-born son to the cheering crowds whilst an observant green snake slithers off in the background, with plans for that son nobody could dream about.
2. Caspian will have brought his bride Lilliandil back, presenting her to cheering crowds but stowed away amongst the shipping being unloaded there is a Dark Island green snake ready to slip away to a more congenial refuge.
3. The most likely way to start the next movie and a really good place for a flashback is when at the start of the movie Lilliandill gets bitten, then she is brought back to Caspian and they hold the funeral for her. Nothing like a grieving and shattered Caspian reminiscing at the wake about coming back with her from Narnia, the birth of their son, and the many years he spent with her, to a sympathetic Trumpkin (and audience). And then we cut to Drinian organising the search to find Prince Rilian and then having to tell Caspian what had happened and that his son is missing......
Lovely. I like all of your ideas, waggawerewolf27. Except the part about the green mist. I would feel the same way about that as I do about the White Witch that keeps popping up. Number three is definitely my favourite.

I prefer Lilliandil and wish they would have developed that more than they did. The least they could have done was shown them getting married at the end of VDT....
Waggawerewolf27, I love your treatment for the intro to SC. Hope the producers/director see it and hire you to co-write the script.
That sort of intro matches up with the bad/ominous intro for LWW and then cutaway to the intro of the principal story...leads into Jill at Experiment House.

Though I absolutely despised the Suspian romance I liked it better then the Lilliandil romance. The Suspian was sutler and didn't have all the corny joke, that just shouldn't be in a Narnia movie.

I really don't think that they did much 'romance' with Caspian and Lilliandil. All he says is that he thinks she's pretty but no kisses or any thing that tells you they're in love. For the people that haven't read the books or anything it's going to be hard to understand that they are in love.
I don't know why i feel that way but just do.....

If i had to choose any two books in the series that I thought went hand-in-hand, I would have to choose PC and VDT, as they both primarily feature Caspian, involve a few of the same Pevensies (and Reepicheep), and most importantly, the seven lords plot follows the Miraz plot line. In that regard, it appears to me that the filmmakers (and Michael Apted in particular) feel that VDT and SC have the most in common, or at least go together the best. Apted keeps talking about the story between the stories and borrowing ideas from SC in VDT. For these reasons, I think the script for VDT was written the way it was because they figured more could be explained in SC. This is my best guess as to why the Lilliandil and Caspian romance may not have been developed as well in VDT, because they plan on expanding it in SC.

Yes I agree. In SC there has to be at least one flashback anyway to explain to either the audience or to Jill and Eustace, or to both, what their mission is about. I expect that having SC follow on from VDT is what explains Michael Apted's strange remarks about the Witch building an army, Lilliandil marrying Caspian etc.
And the best time to evaluate a relationship is not really in the 'love at first sight' moment on Ramandu's Island, but how it stacked up when 'death did them part' when Lilliandil was bitten by the snake.
I voted that Suspian was better done.
Not that either of them were done that great, really. The way they handled Suspian in PC, I thought, seemed a bit corny for a Narnia movie. I think mostly because of the script.
The only reason why I think Suspian was better handled than Lispian was because Suspian actually hapenned. Whereas Lispian didn't really happen at all. You could tell from the look in his eye that he liked her. But that was about it. It didn't go anywhere.
If it goes anywhere at all, it'll have to be in SC. If it doesn't then, then there's another of C.S. Lewis's story pieces down the drain...

Did you really expect that Lilliandil and Caspian would kiss the first time they met?The Susan/Caspian kiss in PC was strictly a farewell kiss, and in any other context shouldn't have happened.
^^ No, I didn't expect that at all.
But I was hoping that they would begin to shape more of a relationship between them. For example, they could have left in the part about how Caspian says that he'll return for her. That alone would more clearly show that a relationship was starting. In the movie, you don't even know if they'll see each other ever again.
