I certainly do know that she had suitors - I said that I don't think we can assume that she had any romance or attraction to those suitors.
Hmm - well I think how she acted to the boy was pretty natural, and didn't have a whole lot to do with his being geeky. If a really cute guy had come up, I personally believe her re-action would have been the same.
And I'm sorry if I offended you in the least, because it was not in the least my intention. Could you point me to something in the book that made you think that way?

It would be obvious that she was attracted to other suitors the Golden Age as to why she had a quick attraction to Caspian. Think about it and I really don't want to start arguing here about speculation, I want this to be fair and no bashing. In her world she's obviously not attracted to boys in her own world and I bet that's because she was in Narnia from age 13-28 so of course she's bound to have been attracted to suitors and yes shared a kiss here and there.
When she returns to her world she sees short haired boys, with no steeds, no sense in fashion from what she previously knew. So of course at first she's going to be unattracted to them especially when she feels she should be older, upon meeting Caspian she probably was first attracted because of his appearance. He had the long hair, the tunic, etc these things she came to being attracted to when she grew up in Narnia.
See the difference?

I do believe in love at first sight, so I don't think that because Susan was attracted to Caspian, she must have "fallen in love" with other guys. And I don't think it was because of clothes that she liked him.
So we can agree to disagree.

That's not what I meant. You completely didn't get what I was saying at all. I'm not talking specifically about Narnia's clothing on men. I merely meant the type of boys and men Susan is into. Like I said, Susan grew up in Narnia till the age of 28, had attractions to medieval men and compared to boys and men in the 1940's is a cultural shock thing. That's what i meant and when Susan met Caspian he reminded her of those medieval men she knew in the Golden Age. It's what she was attracted to.
And yes I agree to disagree with you. I don't believe in love at first sight, only love at first impression.

The thing about the Geeky boy is that Susan was messed up about not being in Narnia just like Peter was really messed up about not being in Narnia. They just handled it differently. Peter got in first fights and Susan became a loner sitting by herself. I don't think any of that had to do with Susan not giving Geeky boy a chance. That was certainly not what i read into that scene at all.
Also Susan being interested in nylons and invitations means that she is interested doing childish things instead of growing up. That is what Lewis is talking about, not boys, but the nonsense of life that people get caught up in. Susan wanted to be cool in the way that a teenager thinks about people being cool. That is what Lewis is talking about.
I am going to have to agree with writing a fanfiction of Susan here. In no way does the books suggest that Susan led any of the men on that were her suitors. It is quite clear in HaHB that the Calormenes intended to invade Archenland and then Narnia and were only attempting to use Susan to that end. It is quite clear that this is their intention. They would have done this whether she ran or not and the Narnians knew it which is why they ran. That is the whole point.
decarus that is my speculation and like I said again it's been a long while since i've read HHB! I really do not like to converse with you anymore because it always turns out into this big argument which is something i'd like to avoid at the moment.
I gave you my reasons when you asked and there it is, im not trying to make this sound like a fanfic nor do I want to discuss anything right now, that is my speculation and how I see it and how I see Susan's character change! I bet millions of other people see things differently too. Like me and Elanor said, learn to agree to disagree. You have your opinions and i have mine.

Aren't these forums about discussions? Is there something wrong with showing someone where you think they're wrong? Agreeing to disagreeing does not mean you can't voice it when you disagree! It means you have to be fine with it - and I think decarus was doing just that.
And I agree with just about everything you said, decarus.

^ It is what it is with me Elanor! I think we all need to drop it now before it becomes something big. And I really want to avoid it!

If you don't want to get in a heated argument you don't have to post on this topic.
Still, I think you all have been well behaved

I was extremely disappointed in the relationship between Caspian and Ramandu's daughter. While I think Laura Brent did a nice job with what she was given, her character was too much about exposition. In the book, she was sweet, and flirted with Caspian. I would have liked to have seen some of this in the movie, especially the exchange about sleeping beauty.

I'm not wanting to. I answered a question and that was all i wanted to do, I didn't mean for other narniawebbers to bash my speculation. This is the last time i post in here.

Well that was extremely rude Damsel. I was just stating my opinion on those matters and you attacked me. I wasn't attacking you. I was just disagreeing with you and stating my opinion, so i guess that has to be the end of the conversation because if i can't state my opinion then there can be no discussion.
Here's something that was recently emailed to me at work and thought I would share to calm some of you Caspiandil fans:

It briefly mentions when the reporter is talking to Ben, Ben talks about what the producers were saying at the after party about possibly adding more of Caspian and Lilliandil in flashbacks in The Silver Chair.
This is indeed good news.

It does sound good, and I hope it all happens.
I with the Caspian-Lilliandil romance had been given more time, that would have made things easier for the filmmakers for Silver Chair. But then again, given Ben Barnes' most recent comment...
“I approached the producers at the after party, after watching very carefully how many glasses of champagne they had. I made sure they had at least three before I broached the question. Caspian is a 70-year-old man, so either they’re going to have to bring Howard Berger (the series’ makeup artist) and his team and I’m going to wake up very early in the morning or they’ll get someone older.’
But, after those aforementioned glasses of champagne, they were talking about maybe doing flashbacks, because in the last chapter of ‘Dawn Treader,’ Caspian and Lilliandil are getting married. There are few potential moments where we could do flashbacks, however.”
I hope they have quite a few flashbacks that would be able to explain the romance better. Overall, I think Casuspian was handled better, however, because it was given more screen time, and most likely more thought.
