Hey, everyone! Something I have been wondering about is what people think about Lucy Pevensie in LWW and PC. I am not talking about Georgie Henley's acting necessarily, but more about of how she changed the character a bit in PC. So which do you like better? Lucy in LWW or Lucy PC?

I thought that Lucy seemed more innocent in LWW. I think they tried to make Lucy be similarly innocent in PC and it didn't really work. I am not sure if it was just because she was older. I also think at the same time they were trying to make Lucy seem wise by saying things that were supposed to be profound. She did have some good lines, but i am just not sure if it made sense.

It was like they were over thinking it instead of just having her be in the moment. I don't think that makes any sense, but oh well.

As you can see, i liked Lucy better in LWW, though to be fair, i very much think LWW is the better film of the two.

I liked Lucy better in LWW. They truly captured her childhood innocence and the sweet little girl that we all read in the book. She was much better in LWW, which I too believe was much better than PC, she played that role to perfection. :)

I agree, she was a better Lucy in LWW. One thing to note though, the whole feel of PC was less innocent (i.e. Susan kissing Caspian etc.). It is kind of a shame, for one of the unique and lovable elements of the books was their simpleness and innocence. They introduced other elements in the movie that were good and there are good lessons to be learned from them but unfortunately they took out the innocence part.

I agree, Lucy was better in LWW, she was more innocent and in PC she was more tough and grown-up. I absolutely love Lucy in both, but I have to agree she was a bit better in LWW.

greenbird37: It really did capture her childhood innocence.

I don't know, to me she still seemed really innocent in PC, still very much the little sister. But maybe a little better in LWW.

I hadn't really thought about this before. I liked Lucy in both of them. I don't think she was better in one then she was in the other.

Definitely liked her in LWW much more,
though I did like her in PC I gotta agree 95% with what decarus said a few posts ago.

Well, I liked her in both movies, but as many have already said, I liked Lucy better in LWW.. Her character's storyline is a lot more adventurous/interesting.. and she just seemed so much more innocent and inspiring in LWW, which is one thing that I truely liked about her.. :)

She really captured the essence of Lucy in LWW. And at that time she was exactly the right age to play her so that gave it a realistic feel. Great job for both though!

I like her better in PC because of her long hiar. SHe still does maintain her innocence in PC and i liked how it went deeper into ehr character, having her be repentive and how it showed her sadness over Narnia being in ruins and her disappointment over Peter and Susan. Still, I think she should have given more credit to Edmund, since he did believe in her.

In my opinion Lucy is still better in LWW. I will however throw a different perspective on Lucy in PC that shows how the innocence may not matter as much in the said movie. PC's point was for the "magic" to return to Narnia. In the book the pevensies were part of the magic. In the movie half of the pevensies (i.e. Peter & Susan) were not the magic but instead needed a bit of it for themselves. Lucy and Edmond kept the faith and were therefore part of the magic. As a result, PC was more about all the faith issues involved instead of all the purity and innocence that was part of LWW. Therefore, I don't think that the innocence was as necessary as the faith aspect which Lucy had. I still prefer the "Innocent Lucy" but I realize that in PC it was not quite as critical for her to be as such.

I agree, Watziznehm, about what you say for Lucy's role in PC; she needed to have the faith aspect to her character.

Lucy in LWW is a character I really love - she is really sweet and lovely, apart from the one rather snide comment to Edmund when they all get into Narnia. In Prince Caspian, however, I love how she is always challenging the others about what they expect from Narnia. She's almost too old to be as innocent as she was, but she "makes up" for it by having faith in the people and in Aslan - I think that's a kind of innocence.

I can't say which representation I prefer, but I find it hard to judge between the films, too. They both have such different atmospheres to them - it's like judging between the Pixar movies "Up" and "WALL-E" - they have slight similarities but they are very different in feel, and that means I love them both but in different ways.
