And here's the NW thread where you can wish Georgie a happy birthday ... with all the creativity you can find. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1564
@Liberty: it's 220.
@Pepper / coracle: interesting discussion of Lucy's beauty, as compared with Susan. Yes, Susan is considered the "beauty of the family" in VDT [read chapter 10] but I thought the actress was prettier in PC than in the VDT cameos so far. And I agree: true beauty is on the inside, i.e. a close relationship with Aslan. This is what Lucy learns in Coriakin's house.
220chrisTian: I like what you said about where true beauty comes from, and how Lucy learned that at Coriakin's house. I really never thought about that - but now that you mention it I see how true it is. It's a really beautiful moment and one of my favorites in the book, even more so now that you pointed that out. I can't wait to see it in the movie. I'm actually looking forward to seeing Lucy's character development in general, and particularly her relationship with Aslan.

Okay, I'm gonna let it all spill... I LOVE Georgie!!!! She is absolutely perfect for the role of Lucy, who, by the way, is my absolute favorite character (not just in Narnia, but ever!)!! I love her morals and standards as well as her magnificent acting. It impressed me that she tried very hard to keep her standards (i.e. her "potty mouth" bucket ). She is so sweet and innocent and absolutely gorgeous!
Okay, now that I've gotten that all out, I can go on. I was reading some of the earlier discussion on how pretty Georgie/Lucy is and how it seems odd that she should think herself as not pretty enough and all that, and I just wanted to put in my two cents. Yes, she is ery pretty, almost to the point that she is now surpassing Susan. But that's how WE see her. No matter how pretty a person is, it is how they see themselves that affects their actions/thoughts/feelings/self-esteem/etc. My younger sister, who is Georgie's age, is a very good example. She is very beautiful, to the point that I sometimes catch myself feeling a tad jealous. Yet she is constantly putting herself down, saying that she has no chance of getting a guy, that she's plain and ugly, etc. A person could be the the most beautiful person there is, but still feel inferior and sensative about their appearance. So I think it is very logical that Lucy be a bit unsure about her looks and want to be more beautiful, like Susan. Besides, who knows, maybe in the 1940's, Susan would have been considered the beauty (and she still is very pretty IMO) and Lucy a bit more plain. It all depends on the time period, the demographics, the general social opinion of the area, etc. All of those factors can affect the definition of "beauty".

Very good point, Fire Fairy. People do have diffrent opinions of what beauty is. And it doesn't necessarily mean that Lucy didn't think she was pretty, but she just thought that Susan was prettier. Susan was considered the beauty of the family and Lucy was always treated like the cute little girl. And when the 'cute little girl' bedins to grow up people at first don't really realise this and still treat her the same. So all that can be quite displeasing to Lucy.

I agree with you, De_De! I know what it's like to feel that your older sister is much prettier than you. Georgie is gorgeous, but her character struggles with thinking Susan is more beautiful than she is, resulting in her temptation with the beauty spell. Thank goodness that Aslan stopped her before it was too late. I imagine many of us women probably would've been tempted as well, just because of the world we live in. Lucy in the end discovers the real meaning of true beauty, just like we should.
I really like Georgie as Lucy, I think a better Lucy they could not find Lucy is my favorite character in the books and I really like the way Georgie protrayed her

I absolutly love georgie in these movies. And its interesting to see how much shes grown over the last three films. I mean she started out as this adorable little girl who stumbked upon narnia being as naiive and as awesome as she can be. Now from what i see in the trailers shes so grown up andshes just 15!!! She is absolutly amazing and she was just born to play this part!!

Yes, Georgie is 15 and really growing up fast! Yes, she's more mature. But there is no way Georgie appeared in the Operation Narnia video recently. She looks the same as she did during VDT filming last fall. I think that is when the video was made. Georgie's photoshoot this past March shows a much different and older-looking Georgie than during VDT filming!
Yes I saw the photo shoot, she does look even older than the video!

I think Georgie is fortunate to still be able to present herself as a younger girl in how she looks and sounds and as a young lady (mid teens, typical of her actual age). I look forward to seeing her as mature young adult Lucy in HHB one day!
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
