Georgie really has grown up and become more pretty! In LWW she was just a little girl while in PC she looked more pre-teen.

I hope she acts as well in VDT as she did in LWW and PC. I don't know but in the trailer when she said to Edmund 'Not in this world' or something like that it just seemed a bit off. Also the part where she said 'It's very Narnian looking isn't it' sounded a bit odd too.

'For when they tried to look at Aslan's face they just caught a glimpse of the golden mane and the great, royal, solemn, over-whelming eyes; and then they found they couldn't look at him and went all trembly.'

I think Georgie has the potential to do well in this movie. There are quite a few emotionally charged scenes in this story that could go well if executed properly. I enjoyed her acting in LWW and in Jane Eyre . She was alright in PC. Although a lot of things were overshadowed by PC`s excessive battles. She has always been good at conveying emotions though her facial expressions. Probably better than the other three. I look forward to seeing her be involved in some of the daring do. As others have said she doesn`t need a beauty spell at all. If a prettier girl had been chosen to play Susan than this would have made better sense. I still don`t quite get the casting Susan was supposed to be a great beauty in the book. Anna is alright and all,but she doesn`t fit the look for Susan at all.

Susan is very beautiful in the 1940s standard, which is something you have to look for when you're casting. Some actresses have a more modern type of face. I know it's weird to think about, but it does affect the look of films set in specific time periods.

I really do like Georgie's acting. I think she'll become very talented as she grows up and has more life experiences. Of the four main actors, I think she and Skandar have the most artistry in their acting.

^ I agree with you again, Maenad. :) I've always thought that Susan is very beautiful in her own way, although by the world's current standards she probably wouldn't be. But in my opinion, both Susan and Lucy (aka Anna & Georgie) are very pretty!

And yes, I am looking forward to seeing Skandar and Georgie in the Dawn Treader. I think they'll definitely blossom.

220chrisTianLucy was said to be an archer in HHB, after all, so it would make sense if she used Susan's bow & arrows.

Looks like Lucy's archer days begin in VDT:

"Well," said Caspian at last, "let's get on with it. We must go and face them. Shake hands all round---arrow on string Lucy---swords out, everyone else---and now for it. Perhaps they'll parley."

Since the next quote follows the above, it is logical to assume that Lucy had her bow and arrow along with the two archers.

Lucy and two archers were posted on the fighting-top with with bows bent and arrows on the string.

Indeed, in the book Lucy is described as ready to fight with arrow and bow. So in the movie it is most appropriate that she be shown (as in the trailer) prepared to fire off an arrow. As far as a sword goes, her movie age is older so having a "larger dagger" would also be in line with that.

In the case of VDT, having Lucy fight in some way would be in harmony with her book character. And volunteering to help the Duffers and then going down that hallway to read the Magician's Book is about as brave a thing done in the entire story. (IMHO) :D

One thing about Sophie Wilcox, who played Lucy in the BBC version... by worldly standards, she wasn't very pretty. So it made perfect sense for her to read the beauty spell.

Good point. But people can change! ;)

I thought all of you would be interested in some Sophie Wilcox/Narnia interviews.*

1 With Barbara Kellerman (White Witch) (1990)

2 With her Pevensie co-stars in a reunion interview (2003)
Part 1

Part 2

@GlimGlum: thanks for the Dawn Treader quotes, about Lucy with a bow and arrows. I hadn't remembered that part at all.

Also the part where she said 'It's very Narnian looking isn't it' sounded a bit odd too.

Why does this sound odd to you? I'm pretty sure Lucy says something similar in the book! :)

^^ Thank you for posting those videos of the BBC Pevensies all grown up. Sophie who played Lucy is so gorgeous.

I guess both Lucy's become prettier then Susan. :p

Yes I too remember Lucy said something similar in the book as well but I think she said "She is a Narnian looking ship.' instead of "It's very Narnian looking.

She does sound different when she say's it, like five years older then her actual age. I thought it was odd at first because I hardly reconized it.

The way she says it indicates how she is feeling at the time.
They are staying at a house with people she and Ed don't like much, she seems to be sleeping in a dilapidated room with junk in it, and she's feeling miserable. No wonder her voice is so flat when she looks at a painting that reminds her of the best place in the world, which they can't get to!

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

That's just called good acting. i really can't stand it sometimes when people find an actor to be annoying just the way they deliver a line. It depends on their characters mood and makes them seem more realistic.

I think Adamson had a knack for picking out the perfect kids for the Pevensies. And he did a wonderful job when he picked out Georgie. Georgie has everything it needed to be Lucy. I think a lot of it is (from interviews I've seen) she has the same innocence about her. She's sweet, cute, and funny. Anyone would want her as a little sister!

Storywise: I never got *why* Lucy had/wanted to look prettier than Susan. In the first two she was as pretty (but still so young it was more likely for someone to say 'cute' over pretty) as Susan was, but now she's definately prettier than Susan. Maybe (I write stories, so I wonder about what the characters are thinking/feeling and the reasons for those feelings) Lucy's been treated like dirt a few times on this issue of beauty. She's at least been compared to Susan, and that can hurt being compared constantly to other people.

But Lucy was always beautiful on the inside, and that's what counts. It wasn't Susan (for all her beauty and 'lipstick, nylon, and inventions') who had the good relationship with Aslan, it was Lucy... and that's what counts, dear old Lu =) I wish I could tell her she was very pretty, and doesn't have to look like Susan to be 'good enough' =) But she's in 'The Real Narnia' now =) So it doesn't matter, she knows better =D We still like ya, Lu!

Pepper, in the book Lewis suggests it is Susan who is the pretty one; she isn't so good at schoolwork which is why she gets to go to America with their parents, as a good social opportunity (can't afford to take them all and Peter is being tutored).
I agree that Georgie is growing up into a lovely looking young lady - but it wasn't a requirement of the character!

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

ah! i see, thanks for the clarification, coracle! =D I'm re-reading the chronicles probably for the 6/7th time, and haven't gotten to the VotDT yet, but I'm half way through PC... and I'm finding out how well Georgie fits her role =D

I guess that suggests that Lucy *was* good at schoolwork =) Eh? =D P.S. like your siggie, coracle! =)
