I just saw the new Nanny McPhee over the last weekend, and one of the little girls in that film would make a very good Jill Pole. Personality wise, she seemed very Jill-ish to me. Here she is:
Those children were all wonderful, though. The cousins would make a good Digory and Polly, etc.
That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong. ~ F.Scott Fitzgerald
Obviously Emily Browning is too old to play Jill Pole now, but she seems to look the part (to me at least).
Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11
I like that picture of the girl Cymru! She would make a good Jill Pole.

I think Jill Pole should start as kind of weak and over emotional, then toughen up as the film goes on. Maybe even join the fight agaisnt the Snake of the Green Kirtle.
I think they should retain her snappy attitude towards Eustace, but tone it down as the film goes on. After Harfang, the main trio of characters should be pretty close friend wise and not arguing really.
I picture Jill with brown/blondish hair. Not brown hair with blonde streaks (or vice versa), but sort of a natural blend between the two colors.
Winter Is Coming
^ That would be called sandy or light brown.
Emily browning wouldn't be a bad choice for Jill Pole actually. I also dont care about an actors age, just as long as they look younger then they actually are I'm cool with that.
One thing about Emily Browning is that her look and Anna Popplewell's looks are almost similar (not really) but almost.

I definitely think Jill should have sandy hair.
I wouldn't like Emily Bowning to play Jill. I love that actress, but I don't think she'd make a good Jill. Jill is much younger, and is a very small girl (accoding to LB). Plus, in all her pictures by Pauline Baynes, her face looks different from Emily Browning's. More heart-shaped, I think.

^ As I agree with mostly what you're saying E+J the "Jill being small" argument had already taken place and was basically brought up that small doesn't necessarily involve being about her height but can mean that she's skinny enough to slither her way through the branches, etc that helps her being very quiet. I'm 5'5" and very slender but I'm quiet and I'm able to do what Jill did in LB. That may be what CS Lewis meant not considering her height.
As for her looks I don't think it would be necessary to only look for an actress who comes off looking like the illustration and skip other great talent just to look for a certain look. If they knew any better Hollywood can make the look happen. Also my whole life reading these books I always imagined Jill with a sort of horse shaped face like Scarlett Johansson in The Horse Whisper. And if the casting can get someone with her same look as a teenager that would be great! That's how in my head how Jill pole should look age, etc everything.

When I said small, I wasn't talking about height either. I meant more... small-boned. And Emily Browning isn't small boned. Not large-boned either, of course; just medium.
Plus, I picture Jill being very young. Like, 12 maybe? Wasn't that how old she was in the books?
Really, I hope Jill is played by an actress that is kind of unheard of or has been in only one or two small roles. Like the other main characters have been. If she was played by a well-known actress, I would have a hard time seeing her as Jill, instead of the actress herself.

and Emily Browning looks way too old to play Jill. I also agree with E+J that she should be played by a less know actress, i mean how fun is it really to see a face that you've already seen in several other movies? plus wouldn't it be exiting to watch someone who has a fresh look? (even my cousin would be almost boring to watch after seeing her in other productions, (abeit small ones)).
I think that I've explained previously what I want her to look like so I won't go through with all that, 'what about attitude?' you ask, well, honestly, Just Read The Books! it says what she's supposed to act like already!
Matthew 6:26 "Look at the birds of the air... ...your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
I wish Emily Browning would still be eligible to play Jill. She could have been good but a girl with her looks wouldn't be bad either. As for her attitude the best answer was given by Jillhope above me. I want her character to stay the same. No toying around with canon characters anymore please!

I've never really heard of any of these actresses before... Haha but they all look great. I just hope they can act well enough. And as for her hair, I was hoping thick, probably brown, and sort of curly. I don't want it perfectly straight, and maybe some bangs?
I Like: Your mischevious smile, your rather weird hair, your perverse mind, our occasional annoying conversations, the funny random noises you make, the burning touch of your fingetips on my skin, how you know most of the things on my mind...
I think this girl, Julianna Rose Mauriello would make a nice Jill.
(Well without any makeup, she could look a little plainer)

She is pretty good, but her eyes aren't quite right if you ask me, I've always imagined Jill with green eyes... But she the best that I've seen on here for ages.

I think Jill should look like this.
I would like a Jill Pole that doesn't have brown hair as all of the girls in Narnia have had brown hair!!! Maybe dark blonde or dirty blonde would be better and with green eyes!!!
