Short can also mean very skinny/slender as well. that's what I hope Jill looks like too. ;)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to get some one who looks like Anna Sophia Robb I just hope they don't get a girl with light or medium blond hair. I hope her hair color is a light brown or sandy colored.

I also agree that girls from all over should have a chance to audition for Jill. It's every girls dream to be her who loves Narnia from all over so yes, that would be a splendid idea.

small does not mean short! ;) i posted this awhile back during a similar discussion...

Here is the definition of small....
1. of limited size; of comparatively restricted dimensions; not big
2. slender, thin, or narrow
3. in low tones; softly
4. (of sound or the voice) gentle; with little volume

Here are some synonyms of the word small that might fit with what we're talking about:
tiny, little, slight,

While I do agree short people are not always small and small people are not always short, there is room for debate either way. I'm just going to say that everyone is unique in their own way and leave it at that. :D

I've been thinking about Jill a lot lately - mostly how well she'll get along with Eustace (Will Poulter). I've decided that Jill's actress and Will P. need to have an offscreen dynamic as well as on, kind of like Will Moseley & Georgie Henley. Now I'm not sure whether by dynamic I mean they should get along, or have frequent personality clashes. Thoughts? :p

Yes I agree with you MountainFireflower. Most actors I know since my sister is involved in it always spend time together the moment they get a part to the time it ends. They form in a way where they are like family instead of good friends, but yes the dynamics must work both off and on screen. I agree that they must have the personality in order to get along and some dislikes and likes that are sort of different to work up how their character will be played out.

Jill and Eustace will be working a lot together so it is best that he and whoever the actress is forms a close bond.

It would be kind of hard for them not to really get to know one another and be really good friends since they're with each other practically 24/7 for 6-7 months! In the beginning they will prob still be a little wary of each other and since they're that way in the beginning of the movie it will be fine. Actually, their friendship off screen will prob develop much like their on screen friendship.

Yes it actually doesn't take long to becoming friends off set with someone. All it takes is a week and they'll be best buds. They'll have breaks together, rehearse together, see each other in mornings and night. No it shouldn't take very long until they develop an off screen friendship. ;)

Oh, whoever is casted for Jill is so lucky. I still hope she's about 5'4" slender with brown hair and hazel eyes. :)

I think they should stick to the drawings and Lewis's descriptions, so about midlength blonde hair is my description with brown eyes. :)

The illustrations doesn't mean anything. It's great to have your opinion of description but the illustrations were done after C.S. Lewis died and his stepson Douglas spoke of not liking some of the art work. So I woun't rely too much on what the illustrations of persons look like. Just my opinion. ;)

I have thought about Annasophia Robb for Jill, but...she's American, and she's too well known. Pity, because she's a good actress, and she looks like Jill ought to. :(

*sigh* Yes, we'd all love for all girls to be able to audition and get a shot at Jill, but the fact is I don't think it will happen. Auditions will probably be restricted to British girls. It isn't practical or economical to go to a whole other continent when Jill is British anyways.

And I think Jill ought to be a petite girl (Definition: Short AND small), primarily because she is small in the books, and she has to be proportionate to Will, who isn't exactly a hulk himself.

Yes well if an American girl is good at practicing British dialect and is willing to fly all the way to London or even hold auditions for a web cam in the Walden Media Studios that is in Hollywood (That is where Ben auditioned for Caspian) then go get em! ;)

But I do have my eyes set on this British girl named Jessica Barden for the part:

I think Eliza Bennett would be great as Jill!

IDK why but every time I see a blonde headed girl I always think of Polly. Eliza's face is good for Jill but if she was to play her I hope she dies her hair a light brown color.

All right, if an American girl can pass herself off as British and is willing to go the extra mile to get noticed, I'm fine. What I meant was that I don't think it's likely they'll hold auditions everywhere. As in, anywhere in the US.

I love Eliza Bennet! She's quite charming. I'm worried though that she's too old.
I've never seen Jessica Barden in anything. She was recently cast in Hanna, yes?

I always saw Jill as having blond curls, but I don't mind if she doesn't...I just hope not all the Narnia girls are brunette. For contrast.

She does look the part but I just think Jill should be younger...

'For when they tried to look at Aslan's face they just caught a glimpse of the golden mane and the great, royal, solemn, over-whelming eyes; and then they found they couldn't look at him and went all trembly.'
