Today I discovered that the georgie-henley.com [English fansite] photo I posted on the 26th was swiped from georgie-henley.org [Russian fansite]. Below is the original photo in color -- with watermarking. The site admin is making a fuss on the Aslan's Country Facebook page about who owns the rights to these photos. Shouldn't they belong to Georgie's photographer [Faye Thomas] and agent [HamiltonHodell], not a fansite?!

Some fansites will claim that it is their photos that they posted if they see their url on a picture or they can tell it was cropped off. Then they want credit just because of a dumb url posted on a picture that they don't actually claim but asked permission for. It's really ridiculous

About copyrighting/permission: I completely agree. The site admin's argument makes no sense. Just because she found and posted the pics doesn't make them hers. And AC admin Poggin posted this on fair use: http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-fairuse.html . So we have every right to post the pics, edited and not.
I did learn this from the Russian fansite. The photoshoot was in March.
