[Closed] Glozelle: the good guy or the bad guy?

in PC, Glozelle is portrayed as on the fence between the bad guys and the good guys.
I thought it was cool how he ends up being one of the ones Aslan sends into our world (through the tree) and not getting killed like he does in the book (in the book, Peter kills him)!

what do ya'll think?

I'm glad he wasn't killed, b/c, at least in my opinion, by the end of the movie, you kind of care what happens to him. I think he's a good guy on the bad side. Someone who made bad mistakes maybe but is overall kinda nice. I mean he didn't kill Caspian when he had the chance (during the battle towards the end of the movie Glozelle sees Caspian lying defenseless on the ground and he could have run him through but hesitated before a dryad decided to knock him out...)... ;;) :) :p

(in the book, Peter kills him)!

I'm being picky here, but it's Sopespian Peter kills, not Glozelle. In the book we actually don't know his fate. The last we hear of him is he pauses to stab Miraz in the back. He really doesn't make a very sympathetic character in my opinion. But as far as movie Glozelle goes, I think it worked very well. But his name should have been Sopespian.

I think he wants to be good, but not left out of the crowd....he could have killed Caspian, but he did'nt...he had heart. :)

In the films, the characters of Glozelle and Miraz were pretty much switched, with Glozelle being painted the blacker of the two. Glozelle killed Miraz, and Peter cut off Sopespian's head, as I recall, after chopping off his legs (in the film, the unfortunate Lord Gregoire gets this bit).
I never liked book Glozelle. He was basically evil, and implied that it was he and Sopespian that did the actual murdering of Caspian IX. In the films, he seems to have a heart, and regrets. I'm glad he got to be the first one to go to New Telmar in the end.

I think Glozelle (in the movie) was only doing what he was told by Miraz.

"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"

^^but just b/c your heart isn't in something, doesn't make you innocent of something. He still tried to murder Caspian.

I think that General Glozelle is a good guy doing what he's told. It's not until others rebel that he considers the possibility that what he's doing is not being a loyal citizen, but just being a tool of Miraz. He is my favorite minor character in PC!

I saw the movie....and was disappointed

I liked Glozelle in the movie. I think over time he begins to realize what he is doing is wrong, and by the end of the movie he is willing to repent and start over. I, too, am glad that he was sent to our world I think the movie veiwer begins to feel some sympathy for him as he begins to realize his faults. His characterization and development was definitely a highlight in the movie. :D

I was okay with his character change, but most of all I wanted to see change in Peter because his bitterness was still sort of there after leaving and Susan needed to change her selfishness for a while. The whole story was meant for them to change not Glozelle.

Yeah, I always like to see a former bad guy, who wasn't really all bad rather than misguided, have a chance at redemption and gaining it!
