For those of you who did not see the Tito Media photos (which we are not allowed to repost on this site) or did not read Fantasia Kitty's description of those photos, this will be our "first" look at Lord Drinian in Costume:
And before anyone asks, nope, he hasn't just taken his wig/beard off during a break. That is exactly as he appeared in the aforementioned set-photos taken during the Lone Island Wharf filming.
It comes from Red Bubble via MundoNarnia, taken at Cleveland Point.

I am surprised that Drinian has received so little love from the NarniaWeb forums thus far (no posts in over a week!) Lol. Even on the old forums he struggled to make it up to 4 pages and most of those posts were by me saying how much i disliked the casting! Hahaha! He has at least grown on me a little since then.
Considering he is in 90% of the story (compared to barely 1% for Ramandu's Daughter) and considering that he is also much older, much balder, and much less Telmarine than im sure plenty of other people besides myself were expecting, its odd he should draw so little reaction.
Anyway, just in case anyone out there is actually watching, im sure you saw the new video in the news today:

Plus there is a new photo of him on deck courtesy of Kerrie Gurney:

A positive goldmine of Drinian pictures! Someone else out there must have some thoughts on him?......
Good show, icarus, good show. I have Drinian as one of my most anticipated characters in this poll: http://www.narniaweb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=196
Although not as I had imagined him, I am now looking forward to how Gary Sweet will portray him. Just finished rereading VDT and I see Drinian as a supporting character but definitely a major one.
Here's hoping Captain/Lord Drinian gets more attention.

There is definitely no "a" in definite.
The Mind earns by doing; the Heart earns by trying.
I suspect most people aren't posting due to the fact that there's little to say about him that wasn't said over on the other forum until we actually see him action.
But just to post my thoughts on this forum, I like him very much. My initial impression was shock because of his age, but he just barely (and I mean JUST barely) fits into the age range I had in my mind for him when you consider how much older Caspian is than in the book.
But since seeing pics of him and seeing him in interviews and whatnot, he has really grown on me. I think he'll make a splendid Drinian. And I must say, he has a very nice smile.
I like that he is bald.....it makes him look more like someone on a ship!
I have never seen Gary Sweet in any other movies, but I am sure he will be a good Drinian!

I think Gary is okay as Drinian, but the book did say that both Caspian and Drinian was good looking. That made me think since Caspian was 16 in the book I thought Drinian might of been 30.
I also pictured him yes athletic build but charming, someone like Sam Worthington:
But it's too early to judge. I'm sure Sweet will do sweet job.
