There's been discussions about Dream Cast for Sons of Adam, Daughters of Eve, and Talking Beasts. Although it may be a while until The Horse And His Boy and The Last Battle get made into movies or series, how about a dream cast for the Calormenes?
I believe Douglas Gresham have made a suggestion on casting Indian actors as Calormenes.
A bit of a side note: Obviously there will be extras and if the extra Calormene soldiers in HHB came back in LB (not to reprise their roles, but they'd still be extras), I'd be fine with that.
Do you have any casting suggestions for the Calormene Characters (The Tisroc, Prince Rabadash, Ahoshta, Anradin, Arsheesh, Lasaraleen, Aravis, Rishda, and Emeth)? How do you think each should be portrayed?
"And this is the marvel of marvels, that he called me beloved."
(Emeth, The Last Battle)
In the BBC Radio 4 and Focus on the Family Radio Theatre drama adaptions, the Calormenes had English accents.
Now to get back on topic, are there any casting suggestions for any particular Calormene character you could think of?
"And this is the marvel of marvels, that he called me beloved."
(Emeth, The Last Battle)
The depiction of the Calormenes is certainly something to worry about.
Anyhow, for casting, here's what I'm kind of thinking:
Gal Gadot, best known as Wonder Woman, as Lasaraleen
Benedict Cumberbatch as Rabadash
"And this is the marvel of marvels, that he called me beloved."
(Emeth, The Last Battle)
Personally, Radash should be hot and charming to throw everyone off that he is the bad guy. Sendhil Ramamurthy would be a perfect actor for this. I love him in everything that he does.
I always thought Lasaraleen would be around a similar age to Aravis. So, I found an actress in her late teens or early twenties. Kavitha Anandasivam is an actress that I think would be the right age.
Rabadash being good looking and turning out to be the bad guy could actually make an interesting twist. It also implies to the theme of how appearances can be deceiving.
Maybe for Aravis, Lily Aspell.
Possibly Tom Holland as Emeth.
"And this is the marvel of marvels, that he called me beloved."
