Edmund was simply acknowledging that she was beautiful.
He may have also been hoping that Caspian had finally found himself a queen.
There will be no love triangle. I honestly don't even think that Edmund is interested in Lilliandil.

There is definitely no "a" in definite.
The Mind earns by doing; the Heart earns by trying.
Well, after seeing the movie twice,
I dunno, I just interpreted it as "Oh, Ed's about 15-16 now, and he noticed that Lilliandil was beautiful. Big deal. So did I."
Now, not being a boy, I can't say this is exactly what he thought, but I think he might have only been slightly attracted to her. Although it is a bit awkward, and I think it was realistic.
Consider: if Edmund had not had that reaction, it would've seemed a bit odd, since Lilliandil was indeed beautiful.

Just saw the movie today. I was glad that there were no other parts involving any "triangle".
And yes, the people in my theater did laugh at the part.
