Of course he thinks she's beautiful! Do you really think he wouldn't?
I got the impression from reading the book that Lilliandil was beautiful, and I think that's what Lewis wanted to imply. I'm sure that everyone probably thought she was - not just Edmund.

I'm not too thrilled with the possible Caspian/Lilliandil/Edmund triangle. Hopefully this is played out just for laughs & isn't indicative of any serious rivalry between Edmund & Caspian for Lilliandil's affection. Don't get me started on the Suspian scenes we had to endure in the last movie. Ugh!
As for Lucy's issues, I think it's more of a self esteem thing for her, rather than vanity. I know according to book canon, Susan & Lilliandil are supposed to be the beauties of Narnia, but this is movieverse, and quite frankly, whatever Lucy's issues, I think Georgie who portrays her is prettier than both Susan/Anna Popplewell & Lilliandil/Laura Brent, and that's saying something, since I think Anna & Laura are both quite pretty. It's gonna be hard to believe, for me at least, that Lucy feels inferior to either of them. She's grown up to be quite beautiful. Exhibit A, B, C, D.

What they should have done in that case was have EVERYONE, or at least all the sailors, join in a chorus of "No", instead of just Edmund and Caspian. The fact that they made it be only those two could indicate they want it to be a love triangle. Not for sure, but it could.

Not all guys like all girls. Not all guys act like that when do like a girl.
And even if they did, it is still kind of lame to put into the movie in my opinion. Even if he did like her, he could have expressed it a less cheesy way.
I much prefer what Edmund says in the book. It would match his character: maybe he thinks she is pretty, but he is cautious b/c of his experiences with the WW.

Yeah, the line really doesn't match his character at all. I wish the flimmakers wouldn't portray him as some kind of girl-crazy boy, like most movies portray guys. I wish they would have had him keep the mindset he had at the end of PC -- where Lucy is talking about how she wont understand romance until she's older, and Edmund replies, "I'm older and I don't think I want to understand." That matched my picture of Edmund much better.
Too bad the filmmakers seem to want to undo that...

Has anyone really looked at the look that Edmund gives Caspian after they both say No!! Its not a mad look but a look of "Oh okay never mind." And in the pic of Lucy roling her eyes ,it is at Edmund not, Caspian and Edmund!!!!!!! So i think that this indicates that this is not a huge problem

I think Lucy is either rolling her eyes at both of them, or at her idea of boy's in general -- the fact that they're both girl-crazy.
Edmund's expression looked to me more like he was annoyed, like, "Oh, darn, we both like her."
But still, he might just leave her to Caspian and forget about her for himself. I don't think we can tell for sure just from those short clips though.

PC movie Edmund matched my picture of him better too. (I LOVED those last lines.) *sigh* But it seems like the writers/directors wanted to cut back on Ed's maturity to get a more dynamic character, but it's not the Edmund of the books. *sigh again*

Perhaps the silliest thing of all is that Caspian bothers to give Edmund an annoyed glance. Since Edmund is younger he should have no reason to view him as competition . Edmund just ruined the moment by saying no as well. Caspian appears instantly smitten by Lilliandil . He temporarily forgets that Lucy and Edmund are there. That`s my theory . It`s the only thing that makes sense. I don`t think this simple gesture will greatly affect Edmund`s character. Hopefully such a petty exchange will not recur in the movie.
I think they are simply damaging Ed's character (though its a little line makes a little damage) to get a laugh out of the audience. I will probably cringe if the audience does laugh during that scene.

Well you might as well cringe now because I am sure they will
^ who cares if they laugh at it. I laughed at it and I've been a big fan and read these books since the early 90's. I really don't see the huge deal about this being bad. Or at this moment right now when it's still early to tell. We know in the book, that everyone never knew what beauty meant when they saw Ramandu's daughter so why not add this to Edmund? He thinks she is beautiful, later he might think he's falling under a charm, Caspian will tell him that that is rubbish, etc like in the book.

I dont know...I just don't get why its funny. I also don't want them to expand further on Edmund's crush or whatever but if they just drop it then it might look a but odd. It feels like a no win situation.
(But I'd rather it look odd than expand on the romance.)
*sigh* Whatever...

After some more thinking about it, here are my thoughts. I see that you all have very valid points - things that I'm concerned about as well. But I'm trying not to over-dramatize things, because really, things in the trailer can be a little distorted anyway. To me, it kind of makes sense that Edmund would say that. He's at the age where he's probably going to say things like that once or twice in his lifetime. We all have our moments of foolishness.
I see what you mean about them downplaying Ed's maturity, but it's just one clip in a bunch of different scenes (and for all I know, they could have cut out part of the scene for the trailer to make it seem more controversial). I won't know what they're doing with his character until I see the movie. I don't really like the C&L&E moment... but there's not much I can do about it right now, so I'm just hoping for the best.
I do have a question - has anyone else noticed that when Lilliandil says, "I can change forms", the s on the end of her word is kind of cut off? That could be where they cut something out. Maybe we're not getting the full story.
*shrugs* Who knows... the filmmakers seem to enjoy torturing us!

I thought it was a funny and rather sweet moment - the young man and the teenage boy are both awed by a beautiful glowing blue lady - she offers to change her looks - of COURSE they both say "No!"
Lucy, who we can't assume is being played any more than 12, is able to do the eye-roll thing ("Boys!") because she's not part of this interraction. If she were a boy of 12, she too would have said "No" - for the same sort of reason Edmund is charmed by the beautiful Jadis in LWW.
But then I am not a teenage girl and my viewpoint is different.
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
