No idea who she is. So long as she does a good job, I'm fine with it. See Ariana Grande as Glinda, for example. I was cautious, but she blew me away with her vocals in "No One Mourns The Wicked," "What Is This Feeling," and her other songs. Her high notes in "No One Mourns The Wicked" were impressive.

I was also thinking that there are certain filming tricks that can be used to make actors appear shorter or taller on screen than they are in real life, with LOTR being the prime example. That to me seems a lot more complicated than simply casting an already-very-tall actress in the role, but it's not impossible, if they really have decided that somebody of quite average height is otherwise perfect for Jadis (or for what they're looking for in Jadis). So although Charli's height makes her less likely on the face of it, I wouldn't rule her out entirely. But the casting still hasn't gone beyond the rumour stage, so as with so much else, we can only wait and see.

Tilda, on the other hand, was already 5'11" . The average height for British women is 5'4. She wore platform shoes for some scenes.
I can't see it as logical to cast a woman of 5'4 to play a towering and dramatic role. To be the same as Tilda she'd need at least 8 inches extra.

Perhaps that would be a concern years and years ago, but there are a myriad of movies from the last 25-30 years where the height of an actor is modified in some way for the character.

The obvious example of changing actors' heights is Lord of the Rings, though that's a bit of an extreme example here, so I'll pick another.
In the original X-Men movie, Hugh Jackman plays Wolverine. In the comics, the character of Wolverine is short, so when they filmed the movie, they changed the angles of the cameras when they were shooting because Mr. Jackman is not a short actor and they were trying to mask his height. When I think back on watching the movie (it's been years since I've seen it), he never struck me as tall in the film.

And am I remembering correctly that even Tilda Swinton wore really tall shoes for Walden's Narnia?

Coming back to this, I find the online reaction of 'This won't work!' a bit premature—maybe even naive—considering how many pop artists have successfully transitioned into acting. Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Zendaya all come to mind. I’m not saying it will work, but there’s at least some precedent.

Barbara Kellerman (born Dec 1949) was seemingly only 38 when she played the White Witch, which is crazy because I would have said she was the older of the two main WW performances.

Either way, and looking at some of the actresses who have played WW on stage recently, the average age seems to be around 40.

Therefore if they are aiming for the 25-32 bracket of Mikey and Charli it's significantly younger than traditionally portrayed.
