Clearing customs on entering Australia from overseas can be a real hassle, if you are bringing in fresh foods, animals (dead or alive), plant materials, or even mud on your shoes!   (We have really strict quarantine laws to protect the unique natural environment.) 

What would your first reaction be on entering the wardrobe and discovering you've entered Narnia?

After days of maximum temperatures of 39 or more than 40 degrees Celsius, coming into Narnia to find snowy weather in a fir forest, my reaction would be to stay there, in the cold.

According to Tom Keneally's Commonwealth of Thieves, the walls of the first buildings in 1788 were panels of branches plaited together, with the cracks daubed with wet clay to make them more solid.
