Hi, I'm here for the first time in ages. I never really stop by because I don't have time to read all the replies and reply to them. But to those who remember me, I still live!
I'm doing my masters in computer science (studying part time), while working full time and being involved in various church activities, so I am very very very busy. Plus I have a client from back when I had my own business that I have been doing some work for, and I have to get my apartment ready to have people over. We're having a celebration for my 25th birthday this week, and since I only moved in 3 months ago (with no furniture, since I still lived at home till then) I am still getting the place looking habitable. I finally have two couches, a chair, and a coffee table, but no dining table!
Anyway, imma be off for now. Y'all have an amazing mortereve!
Hello everyone! Finally here for some real catchup. As you may have guessed, I've been really busy, every day this weekend, and beyond, and I've had little computer time. I've missed the square, chat, and all of narniaweb!
Several people asked about the wedding, so I'll just talk about it now. It was a success, first of all. The 3 (now 4) weddings I've been to, have been very different, and not what I think a wedding should be - though one was very close. This one hardly seemed like a wedding at all, because I was a part of it, not just sitting down and watching it. There were a million things to remember to take, we had to pick up something for a bridesmaid dress the morning of the wedding, and we were very rushed. But I think we remembered everything, and got there in time. I figured out the guest book (a little difficult, because everyone had to write on these little cards, and I had this little squished place to stand next to it, and half the people didn't realize what they were supposed to do, and didn't end up signing it. xDD), and did my best working that - the wedding start was very punctual, and half of the guests were still arriving/hadn't arrived yet, but I couldn't really have them sign the guest book as the bride walked down the aisle.
So I gave up on that, and started to go get a seat, when the bridesmaids started walking, and I thought it would be best to wait till they were through, to sneak in. So I missed the processional.
Then I got in, and sat down next to my family, and looked on. But I was really distracted, and didn't get to really enjoy it much.
My sister and the brides brother went up to do their song, which was supposed to be during the candle lighting - the candles had been forgotten, so the wedding party just stood and looked at each other while they sang and played. The short ceremony flew by, and then me and my accompanist got up and went over to the piano. As we were walking to the front, the brides brother whispered to both of us, asking if we wanted him to play guitar (he'd just been practicing the night before). There really wasn't time to think about that, so we shrugged and left him to figure it out for himself (he did play, I think, but quietly). The song went really well, I think - I wasn't as nervous as I expected, and it was the right speed - the wedding party exited very quickly, so half the guests were out as well, when I finished the song, but I didn't mind that - it relaxed me.
Then I played the postlude music, and slipped out.
The reception was outside, and it was blustery and a little cold, when the sun was down. So I was hunched over pretty much the whole time. But we laughed and talked, and it was happy.
I've written quite enough about that - I'll just do catchup now.
Tomorrow it is then, Elanor. I doubt a specific time will be necessary... I'd venture to say any time between noon and evening is fine.
Shall I admit it?
I totally forgot about Operation Flood.
Well, he got a few drops anyway. xDD
I'm glad you seem to be on better terms with your friend; though if she's liable to hurt you again, you may not want to get really close.
She's just been figuratively snuggling up, but I'm going to try not to "fall to her spell". Ah, the call to be the popular one. It's so difficult. But I'm glad we're friends again, and I hope I can see her again soon.
I rarely RARELY ever wear socks with flats.
But hey, I guess they work! And yes, I typically have to wear band-aids for a month or so until the new shoes are worn in.
I just do it in the winter, with jeans. Certainly easier to break in shoes that way.
Oh my. I just cut all that, by accident. I had quite a time finding the undo button as well. If I hadn't, you wouldn't see a post from me for a LONG time. xDD
h, haha. This is my first time reading Great Expections, yes. I'm on chapter 13, or somewhere around there. What are your thoughts on the book?
Done yet? What do you think of it? I like it - it's not one of my favorites by Dickens, but I did like it. I liked the characters, though some of them weren't at all believable - but you can't expect that from him, can you? I liked Pip's friend (I forget his name. Hopefully you know who I mean.
).
*waves to FK* Wonderful to have you here!
I tend to find that it's a very rare friend that at some point in the relationship doesn't hurt you in some way. I know that's a horribly negative and pessimistic way of looking at things, but at the same time I think it's realistic. But it also shows whether or not you have the ability and courage to forgive them and be a friend to them, even though they technically don't deserve it. This sort of behavior doesn't sound familiar in any way does it?
![]()
Oh, I totally agree and understand. Everyone you get to know will hurt you. I have other friends who have done that plenty. This is quite a bit different. This girl has literally gone through every single girl I know, that she knows, as her best friend. They're so close, and she's talking about how she loves her more than anyone else in the world - the literally the next week, she doesn't even talk to her, because she found someone cooler. All of us do that to some extent, but not like that. I've been one of those girls thrown away, plenty of times, and I've seen it happen to so many others. She's gone through some horrible troubles (her mother dieing), and I really do feel for her - but I'm going to do my best to be there for her, while not allowing myself to be wounded again.
*waves to dotK* Good luck with your school!
Thank you, FK, and Ara, for asking about the wedding. It was a friend of mine, Ara, who I haven't talked with for a year.
*waves to Sonny, and stardf29* I CAN'T believe I missed Talk like a Pirate Day. I always enjoy it so.
Anyone here ever heard of Rhett and Link? I watched some videos for the first time today, and I LOVED them. Totally worth it, they're hilarious and adorable.

I haven't been able to drop by for a couple days and I see there are some posts here. I've been too busy cranking letters out like mad (my poor hand) and they're due tomorrow. However, I need a break, so I figured this would be a good distraction.
Well I'm spending my morning fighting off distractions while writing my letters.
Mwa ha ha!
You put your headphones on and watch videos. You aren't much of a distraction. (Everyone knew Ara and I are sisters, right?)
This year a couple new things they had were deep fried cookie dough, which was pretty awesome, but really just straight up sugar.
Probably one of the markers of humanity will be its eternal struggle to come up with new and unusual ways to prepare and consume pure sugar.
![]()
Or in my case, find new ways of making artificial sweeteners palatable. (Sugar in large amounts does bad things to me. I'm ok at the fair cause I let my hubby eat most of it and walk off the rest.)
We're having a celebration for my 25th birthday this week
Oooh, a quarter of a century, Happy Birthday early!!
*waves to FK* Wonderful to have you here!
Thank you.
Thank you, FK, and Ara, for asking about the wedding.
Sounds like it was quite the adventure!
Anyone here ever heard of Rhett and Link?
I have not! Without googling it to find out, what is it/who are they?
Well I've spent my day rather amused by the mass hysteria over Facebook's new layout. Oh, I hate it too, but I've hated Facebook and the way they treat their members. I've been waiting to jump ship at the first opportunity, and now I think a lot of people are ready to join me.
I've been keeping my eye on Google+ and apparently they've just opened up their Beta to anyone and everyone (I'm sure due to the Facebook debacle) but + is still in its infancy and probably not ready to be invaded by the masses just yet.
*watches a cold front roll in* I know it's been a hot and miserable summer, but I'm not ready for winter yet. Winter means I can't garden for a whole several months. Ah well, I suppose everyone else is looking forward to it and I shall try not to be selfish.
Mortereve, all!
*pops in*
So.... *sigh* I hope you all won't hate me too bad, but I don't feel like doing catchup. However, thank-you everyone (I remember, specifically, Miss R, Ela, and Jo) for your sweet comments on the pillows! It was so special to read those.
I miss y'all, thought I'd stop by in here, with school it's easier to keep in here more regularly, the regular.
The basic explanation for my showing-up: I miss the Square terribly.
Tonight we went to help out with Cubbies, and that was nice. My sister encountered a very faithful 3-year-old Star Wars fan. Wowsers. Little kids are so fun, except when asking them to share play dough. Next time I'm going to be at the coloring/craft table.
And I saw that the children's choir is going to do a Christmas play I did six years ago. Needless to say, I got very nostalgic.
Allright, enough of my sentimental jibjab. I'll catch-up on this page if it's allright.
Ditto to Ara, I hope you get better soon, Miss R!
*wavewaves to Ara* We haven't talked in some time! How are you doing? (and, I can relate with the videos. Unless it's music or something funny, I honestly am not good paying attention to things... )
*waves to stardf* Good luck on being the saxophone player of the worship team! *has never seen a worship team with a sax, but imagines it must be...something*
Sonny, that's so neat you're doing your masters in Computer Science. And conga-rats on your 25th birthday! Certainly a special one.
Ela-Nora, I enjoyed reading about your Wedding Experience. I've been to around 3/4 weddings (one of which I was the flower girl with my sister, but I don't remember that one very well except my sister tricking me into eating a flower while we were pretending to collect flowers for the procession. ) and they have all been individual, interesting experiences, like you said.
I'm glad to hear your solo went well! I was lurking (as usual
) in here when you mentioned it some weeks ago, and was wondering how you'd do.
*waves to Fantasia* *knew that F_K and Ara are sisters but has never known who's older* I'm guessing Fantasia?
Btw, I enjoy reading your very knowledgible posts in the garden thread!
Well, I shall be around for a few minutes. Hopefully I can stay longer than I have in the past! *wanders around to find some Chocolate Pretzels on the chocolate tree* Yum. And something from the Jelly Bean shrub... *wonders if Jelly Beans are ready to be harvested this season....*
RL Sibling: CSLewisNarnia
Hello again - since I have a little bit of time, and a little bit of catchup, here I am.
Nothing much is happening - on Saturday my family is going to a play, which is outdoors, and the low is supposed to be 38. I'm kind of having fun planning on what to wrap up in, and see how much clothes I can get on. Leggings, jeans, socks, boots, tank top, shirt, hoodie, coat, and blankets, I think. xDD
Big Happy Birthday to Sonny today!!
(Everyone knew Ara and I are sisters, right?)
So now I feel really stupid. I had no idea you two were related.
Oh well, nice to know, now.
The wedding was an adventure, though. A lovely one.
I have not! Without googling it to find out, what is it/who are they?
I just heard about them yesterday, so as you can imagine, I don't know too much. They're two best friends who are in the world of entertainment (kind of). They made a series of 40 youtube videos, one every weekday for quite awhile, in which they talk about things. Anything. Their dreams, made up things, encounters with celebrities. They're funny. And that's an understatement.
I watched 8 video's the other day, and I was laughing so hard.
They're really funny and cute and sweet. REALLY funny.
I'd definitely recommend them.
*hugs Bella* I've missed you lately, girl. I remember what fun we had that one night, on chat, and I wish it could happen again.
Thank you! I'm relieved everything went well.

Mortereve, all! I don't have much time for catchup; so if I miss anything, you have my apologies.
Not much has been going on at my end of things, aside from school and everything Dot mentioned about it. Yesterday I had surgery done on my toe (my nail grew into my toe and had to be cut out), which was an extremely painful experience. It's feeling better and better by the hour, though, and I think - by tomorrow - I'll be able to walk normally again.
*sends hugs to Dot* Don't get too swamped with all that school work!
Don't you just love homework? And tests. And quizzes. And having multiple tests and quizzes on the same day.
I still firmly believe that teachers get together, cackling maliciously, as they schedule their tests for the same day.
*oooh's and ahhh's over FK's crazily huge watermelons* Eep. You should invite your church over and have a watermelon-eating party or something.
That's why I always eat junk food AFTER I ride the rides.
I certainly mean to do that beforehand, but upon arriving the smells are too delicious for me to resist (usually, as long as they don't smell too fatty and sickening). So I eat a generous amount of what my wallet allows and then go on rides and immediately regret it.
OOoh, what do you play? And I sure hope you're feeling better.
![]()
I play the violin! I took lessons for eight-ish years, only quitting due to my busy schedule. I love the sound of the instrument. And I'm feeling much better now, thank-you!
Hmm. I was certainly not around the Town Square six years ago on this account. I do remember lurking on my older one, though. But that would have been more like five years ago.
Ouch about the letter writing. O.o I can imagine how much your hand must hurt afterward!
Concerts with solos sound nerve wracking. Being sick doesn't help. What instrument do you play?
They are indeed. O.o I play the violin and piano, though violin was what I played during last week's solo. Do you play any instruments?
*chuckles about the rides* Yeeeah. So far, I haven't had any disastrous results after going on rides at the fair -- though I've come close. Very close.
*waves to stardf and Sonny* Have a wonderful 25th birthday today, Sonny! I hope the celebration is special.
It sounds like the wedding was fun, Elanor, though adventurous! I'm glad your song went well. I know what you mean about the troubles of speed during a solo. I often speed up or slow down too much during a violin piece, merely because all thought leaves my head as soon as I step on stage.
Aeee... I forgot about sending Nick a PM, too. Ah well. It....happens....
I'm almost done with Great Expectations, yes. Almost. I have several chapters remaining, because I just haven't been too motivated to finish it. *will save her thoughts until another time when she has several minutes to write it all out*
(Everyone knew Ara and I are sisters, right?)
Si!
Annnnnd, that's all I have time for tonight.
Hopefully I'll be able to post some more this weekend.
Cheers!

*Enters the Town Square while listening to epic music and trying to play Mousehunt and CivWorld all at the same time.* Please excuse any especially inane comments.
Probably one of the markers of humanity will be its eternal struggle to come up with new and unusual ways to prepare and consume pure sugar.
Ha ha! I like it.
And I’m very glad there’s not a blue indicator bar above my music showing me what notes I miss. My playing the French Horn is abysmal.
*waves energetically to Sonny You’re working full time and doing a Masters program? Man! I understand if you’re not around very often. I do miss you in the Ditto Story. Unfortunately, I haven’t been posting anything either.
Elanor, that sounds like quite a wedding. I laughed out loud about the wedding party just looking at each other because they forgot the candles. (That seems like an important detail to forget? On the other hand, I suppose weddings are crazy enough with preparations that it’s amazing it doesn’t happen more often.) I’m glad your song went well anyways!
You put your headphones on and watch videos. You aren't much of a distraction.
I think I was actually being talkative that day. But most days I am off in my own world.
*wavewaves to Ara* We haven't talked in some time! How are you doing?
I’m doing really well! I’m enjoying my job and my church, although I don’t really have a ministry right now, but I’d love to be involved somehow. I think children’s ministry is always looking for more people to help but I’m not good with hyper, screaming people half my size and twice my energy. Sounds like you’re doing a good job with Cubbies though.
You ate a flower? LOL! Everyone has such awesome wedding stories! I don’t have any. I do think someone should ask my sister about the time I crashed my brother-in-laws proposal though.
And Fantasia is older! She’s very good at it too.
*wonders if Jelly Beans are ready to be harvested this season....*
They are, but they’re all green apple and sour grape.
Do you play any instruments?
Only a little and very poorly. But yah, I play the French Horn. I love the instrument but I just can't do the music justice.
Hay all. Been absolutely ages since I visited Town Square. Still miss my little friend Gorse. Need to have him and George out for dinner together sometime. I need to be careful when George is dining with others as he has a natural habit that others find utterly disgusting.
For those of you that do not know George ...
... meet George. George is a desert cottontail rabbit that visits me at the fire station. While not exactly the best thing, I do feed him regularly.
I do think someone should ask my sister about the time I crashed my brother-in-laws proposal though.
Really? Someone do tell!
Mortereve, all! I don't have much time for catchup; so if I miss anything, you have my apologies.
And I do have time to stop in and still miss a whole lot.
(Everyone knew Ara and I are sisters, right?)
Fret not. It took me at least a year to figure that one out.
I hope you all won't hate me too bad, but I don't feel like doing catchup.
Yeah. Whatever. Like I am the master of ketchup Personally, I look back about five days total. Beyond that, it depends on my mood.
Hi, I'm here for the first time in ages. I never really stop by because I don't have time to read all the replies and reply to them. But to those who remember me, I still live!
No worries. Difficult at times to have the motivation to read it all. Understandable.
Speaking of tests, not too long ago I got to take the test for Navy promotion.
I may have already asked what your rating is, but I vaguely remember my test for 2nd Class. Was not hard, but then again, I had been actively working in my rating - Signalman. Curious to know how you do one way or the other.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
Mortereve, all.
I love the sound of the French horn, Ara! Beautiful instrument. 'Tis a pity you don't play as well as you would like, though. I know how that goes.
Life has been absolutely crazy for me lately. I would appreciate prayer, that I can handle all of this schoolwork and know how to take care of several complicated relationships. I would appreciate it very much.
Hope you all are doing well!

Whew! It has been a busy week and between my job and the forum exploding I haven't made it in here to post. (If you didn't hear about the forum/chatroom bugs already, see my post in the Growing Pains thread in the SO.)
So anyways, my week. I got a new laptop. My husband got it for me as an early Christmas/birthday present. I'm still testing it out to see if it's what I'll need for all of my stuff because it wasn't top-of-the-line which is perfectly fine. So far so good but I haven't loaded any video games onto it yet.
I'm looking forward to this weekend though. My family on my husband's side decided to invest in 30 grape plants and they arrived yesterday. So we're going to be planting a baby vineyard this weekend.
And provided that my hubby gets to feeling better (he's been having some odd pains in his head and neck) we may go camping as well.
It has been sooo nice here. Certainly beats our record setting summer. But still no rain. We're doing better than say, Texas, but we're still having some significant drought issues.
Anyhoo, TGIF!! Have a great weekend everybody!
Mortereve, all!
Had an interesting day today. Yesterday, during sunset, there were no brilliant colors but a film of pale, rich yellow which faded into a rainy-filled, cloudy gray on the sky. We were walking toward the sunset, and rain and wind were blowing vehemently, but the celestial yellow light was basking on us. It looked so unnatural and beautiful, almost like a movie. We then walked into the department store, which was empty. It felt a little like Inception, the epic wind and lights outside, and then the quiet store with elevator music playing while our shoes were squeaking on the floor.
*hugs Ela* Aww, thank-you! I've missed you, too. Yes, it would be lovely if we could have another fun talk in chat! (although, I must admit I do not recall the night you mention. )
How have you been doing lately? I hope well! Have you been doing some fun photographic endeavours?
*waves to Miss R* I'm sorry to hear that your week has been crazy! I hope it gets better. I've been praying for you.
By the way, I'm sorry for not responding to your message for some time
: I will get to it as soon as possible.
Eeep, about the surgery. :S I'm glad it all went well, though!
I'm glad you're doing very well, Ara! And I hope you can join a ministry that's fits you to a T! Thanks, yes, Cubbies is quite the cats! I can relate, though: I've never considered working with younger kids my forte at all. I'm a little better it now, but only with kids younger than 8. For VBS, I had to fill in with a group of boys and only one girl from ages 9-almost 13 and O.O... they knew they were not very much shorter than me and stuff, so I did not have that much authority... (at heart, though, they were all good kids with a lot of energy; I don't think they primarily desired to be bad.) That was ... quite an experience.
Haha, yes, my older sister tricked me into eating the flower, something along the lines of pollen being sweet. Should've known better.
I want to hear the story of when you accidentally crashed your brother-in-law's proposal!
Ah, okay! Good to know.
*sulks* I don't want green apple and sour grape. I want chocolate or strawberry cheesecake! *goes to console herself with some chocolate pretzels*
*waves to Cep* Aww, George is so cute! *leaves him a virtual carrot* Is this a real rabbit that pays you visits? That's so sweet. One of our cats has a little rabbit friend, we think.
Fantasia, that is so neat about the grapes!! One of our neighbours has some grapes growing outside their wooden fence, and my dad pointed attention to it and my mom, sister, and I were so shocked! I've only seen grapes hanging from vines and ensconced in leaves in picture of like, Italy or France!
*gives F_K some rain from over here*
Well, that does it for ketchup! That was nice and not too long.
I shall be around for a few.

I just now realized...
I have not posted on this thread since June. *Dagger to the heart* I feel like the worst friend ever.
Ah, well, I guess that's what's nice about forums, right? You can always just pop back in and interrupt the whole flow of conversation and semi-sanity and no one will mind.
But it still doesn't go without an apology. I'm so sorry for not being on here. I've just been distracted by this or that and every time I get on to write something, I always get it half-finished, find I'm disatisfied with what I've written, and then say I'll "come back to it." Sigh.
Oh, look, the moving truck just pulled into our driveway. Yes, did I tell you we're moving? Actually, we're not moving. That was a lie. My sister is the one moving but we are not moving. She's getting her own apartment now. All my older sisters are out of the house and all grown up! I'm the oldest at home now, which is strange...
Well, the rest of this will be extremely brief because I need to be tottling off to bed soon.
As to the rest of life, it's been very good. Not everything I expected it would be (it never is, is it?), but it's definitely been good and more so than I anticipated in many cases. I've been improving at my piano playing. Not fast enough for my liking...but improving. I had to quit playing for a week because I was getting pain in a tendon in my left hand. My teacher was sure it was the Mozart Sonata that was doing it and so I couldn't play for an entire week. Just about drove me insane.
I participated in a dance competition this last month which was really fun! It was the second competition I've ever been in. I was still an Advanced Beginner in all my solos, except for Hornpipe because it was the only dance I advanced in at my first competition. BUT this time I placed first and second in everything except my traditional set (I got fifth on this dance, but I still got a trophy for it because it was non championship so fifth is still pretty good
). So I am a novice level dancer in everything now.
I've also managed to get my senior portraits done!! And I retook the ACT this fall and scored high enough to concurrently enroll at the University. AND I am driving, which is scary but fun. I've gotten good enough to drive pretty much anywhere, so right now I'm just chalking up the hours so I can get my license.
And...that's pretty much life. I put some pictures from my summer on my blog, if you want to look at that. I had such a long fantastic summer...but I don't have the time or energy to go into detail here. Love you all, lovely folk! And hopefully I will be back on here again soon. God bless!

Good mortereve!!
It seems I haven't posted here in a couple months! So I decided that needed to be fixed.
My last post is on page 82, which leaves a doable catch up. But it was so long ago, I doubt anyone would even remember what I'm talking about if I catch up. So, I suppose I will start afresh.
It's finally below 80 degrees here!!! I'm SO happy. I just want to spend all day outside today. x)
Ah, well, I guess that's what's nice about forums, right? You can always just pop back in and interrupt the whole flow of conversation and semi-sanity and no one will mind.
Ditto to that! How have you been? It sounds like your life has been pretty exciting (and busy!).
*waves to Bella* Hello there! How's it going?
*waves to everyone else*
Alright, I'm to go outside and do something. Maybe fish, or try to fly a kite, or practice my skateboard jump, or maybe just read. I love cool days. xD
Town Square, I miss you.
...No, that's not right.
People of the Town Square; I've missed you!
Where have I been? Nowhere especially. I just got behind and haven't posted since June and was too lazy to do so, or something. :-/
But mayyyyybe I'll post more frequently now that I've gotten the guts to skim the last dozen pages and... *post*!!!!
Since June Highlights:
-Went to a "Family Camp" with some friends, which was *so* much fun.
-The dog we've had practically my whole life died.
-And I entered a short story in a "Providential History Festival" and won first place. (50 bucks!) 😉 So that was neat, I guess. 😉

An attempt at catching up... we'll see how this goes.
*knew that F_K and Ara are sisters but has never known who's older* I'm guessing Fantasia?
You are correct. I'm older than Ara by about 5 years and we have a brother in between us, but he's not the forum type.
Btw, I enjoy reading your very knowledgible posts in the garden thread!
Oh thank you! I don't know that they're terribly knowledgeable so much as just babbling on about how I do things. I'm the sort of person who learns by trying things out myself usually with some semblance of an idea on what I'm doing. If it doesn't work out, I know for next time. My husband and I are currently tackling the project of how to keep our greenhouse warm enough over the winter so we could not only keep a couple pepper and tomato plants alive, but also have them continue to produce. It's a bit overwhelming.
So now I feel really stupid.
I had no idea you two were related.
Oh well, nice to know, now.
Nah, we don't exactly make it obvious. We're pretty different people and even here on NarniaWeb, we post on very separate parts of the forum for the most part.
I just heard about them yesterday, so as you can imagine, I don't know too much.
Ara pulled up a few Rhett and Link videos so I've watched them over her shoulder. They're pretty humourous. I especially liked the Drive Thru at Taco Bell video, which I shall now link so everyone can can enjoy it.
... meet George.
Hi George! George is officially the most spoiled wild rabbit of all time.
Yesterday I had surgery done on my toe (my nail grew into my toe and had to be cut out), which was an extremely painful experience. It's feeling better and better by the hour, though, and I think - by tomorrow - I'll be able to walk normally again.
How are you doing Miss Rosario? Walking ok now?
Haha, yes, my older sister tricked me into eating the flower, something along the lines of pollen being sweet.
There are lots of edible flowers in the world, and some actually taste good.
I want to hear the story of when you accidentally crashed your brother-in-law's proposal!
*leaves that one for Ara*
Fantasia, that is so neat about the grapes!! One of our neighbours has some grapes growing outside their wooden fence, and my dad pointed attention to it and my mom, sister, and I were so shocked! I've only seen grapes hanging from vines and ensconced in leaves in picture of like, Italy or France!
Prior to prohibition in the 1920s, Kansas was becoming a huge wine producing state. Obviously that all ended when alcohol was outlawed and is only just now catching on again. But we have really good soil and climate here for grapes.
We successfully planted all 29 of our plants (number 30 was dead on arrival... still need to call Burpee about that). And they look good! I meant to take pictures this weekend, but forgot.
*gives F_K some rain from over here*
Please! And thank you!
I have not posted on this thread since June.
It seems I haven't posted here in a couple months!
Where have I been? Nowhere especially. I just got behind and haven't posted since June and was too lazy to do so, or something.
There is something about summertime that a lot of people just don't come around the forum as much. And then school starts up and everyone returns. I've seen it every single year I've been on this site. You'd think it'd be the opposite, but that's the way it is. Well, welcome back to the Town Square RubyGamgee, pogginfan, and Queen Susan.
And it's nice to finally "meet" you all. Due to the lack of movie news, I've actually been able to visit the Town Square again after... years... of absence.
So I wouldn't feel too bad about a few months.
I participated in a dance competition this last month which was really fun!
That's awesome! What kind of dance do you do? I usually assume ballet, but that's often a mistake on my part.
I've also managed to get my senior portraits done!!
Awesome! I remember Senior Portraits. They were such fun.
And I retook the ACT this fall and scored high enough to concurrently enroll at the University.
Congrats! Do you know what you'll be studying yet?
AND I am driving, which is scary but fun.
I love driving. I think I'm about the only NarniaWebber who got their License at the age of 14 (drivers permit?) and there was no stopping me.
I still love driving, but only if I'm in a car I'm comfortable with, which is NOT my husband's Mercury Grand Marquis.
I love my Ford F150.
It's finally below 80 degrees here!!! I'm SO happy.
I just want to spend all day outside today. x)
Oh my goodness, it has been so beyond gorgeous here. We very, very seldom get a stretch of nice weather like this in Kansas. We'll get a day here or there, but to have day after day after day of 70-80 degree weather? Unheard of. My husband and I (along his brother and his brother's wife) went camping this past weekend. The weather was perfect, and there's one thing about drought... no bugs.
-Went to a "Family Camp" with some friends, which was *so* much fun.
Cool!
-The dog we've had practically my whole life died.
I'm so sorry.
-And I entered a short story in a "Providential History Festival" and won first place. (50 bucks!) 😉 So that was neat, I guess. 😉
Congratulations! What was your story about?
There we go, I think I'm caught up for the most part. I shall now get back to work on my stuff around the house.
