Peter had pretty much stopped crying now, but he had his face still buried in his pillow....he didn't feel like getting up. He just felt like laying there in the tight silence. It gave him some comfort......it made him remember alot of things when he was all quiet. It made a feel better. He felt Jen's hands rubbing his back, and Miley's fingers stroking his hair. They both cared about him...and so did he cousin Justin and all his friends. Maybe things would be alright....maybe they would turn out alright. He slowly sat up and gave Jen a warm loving hug "Thanks for being here Jen"

"Neither do I. Hey Justin..." Ian said and lowered his voice. "Could you....I mean....would it be possible if you could.....bring my a pocket bible?" He blurted quickly.

Jen hugged her handsome boyfriend back. "Anytime." She kissed him softly on the cheek.
Peter kissed her back, then hugged Miley. "Thnks for being here too. I think im going to take a walk and see if Brian doing anything. Want to come?"

Justin curiously asked, "Where?"

"Could you bring me a pocket bible. I actually have never had a bible of my own" He said looking down with a sigh.

"I will!" Jen said and came up to Peter slipping her hand into his, and giving it a gentle squeeze.

Miley squeezed her cousin's arm. "Me too. But your face is all blotchy."
Peter looked in the mirror to see Miley was right. "Oh crap."

Jen sighed, "How about I get you a cold wash clothe. That always helps me when I'm done crying. It helps remove the blotches" she said and looked at him

Miley got up, towards the door, finding one in the cabinet, then she came back after rinsing it in water and handed it to Peter. "Here." She knew he did not want Brian to see that he had been crying.

Peter took it gratefully and wiped his face down. It removed some of the redness and blotches, making it less obvious that he had been crying. But his eyes were still puffy. "Oh man..." he said and blinked a couple of times.

Jen rubbed his arm in a loving way. "Maybe if we go out and walk to Brian's house the fresh air will help."

Peter sighed, "I hope so. If he knows I've been crying..."
A few mintues later, the trio was at Brain's house and Peter rang the doorbell.

When Justin was leaving and after promising Ian a pocket Bible, he noticed he got a text message from Miley. Seeing that it was an hour ago, he called Miley. "Is everything okay?"

Brian's mother answered and when she saw Peter she was indignant. "Young man..." she said in a some what cold tone. "I want you to....to....." she stuttered. "It is your fault my son was shot! Unless you can promise me that you will not cause him harm anymore I will not allow you to see him"

Miely answered her call "Hey Justin. Everythings fine now, but it wasn't just about an hour ago. Poor Peter, he was crying his eyes out in his bed room. Chrissa's mom banned him from seeing her because of his past....it really hurt him"

It was as if a dozen arrows pierced thier way through Peter's already fragile heart. "What do you mean?"

Jen's eyes widened in shock. What did she mean by that? "Peter doesn't hurt people."

Justin felt his heart sink. "Where are you? maybe i cna tlak to him?"

"Well we are at Brian's house" miley suddenly gasped and she knew Justin had heard it also. She had seen and heard Brian's mother, and she saw Peter faulter under her harsh words. "Come quick Justin" she cried and hung up, running over to Peter's side.

Brian's mother stepped down onto the front steps "It's your fault my son was shot!!" she said again pointing a finger at Peter. "You were with him and you didn't stop it!! I have half a mind to stop you from seeing him!!" she almost yelled, becoming emotional.

"Mom!?" suddenly came Brian's voice from the inside of the house.

Justin overheard what Brian's mom was saying to his dear cousin. He remebered when Brian got shot. Brian got shot because Peter was trying to protect him. He said grimly, "I will be right there." He turned his car into Brian's neighborhood, then when he got there he walked out and rushed to Miley and Peter's side. Looking at Peter's mom, he asked, "Mind telling me what's going on?"

Peter felt horrorstruck at what all was happening to him on the same day. Couldn't he do anything right? "You honestly think I could control the maniac who shot him?" Tears filled his eyes. Not wanting anyone to see him, he turned and found himself in Miley's arms.

Jen walked up to Justin. "Sure, I'll tell you. If she doesn't first," she said, looking pointedly at Brian's mom.

Miley put her arms around Peter and stroked his hair. "It's okay...." she whispered trying to comfort him and not cry herself. She just wanted to cry for him....everything was coming crashing down on his head. His friendships, his world. The one he had always lived in was falling on his shoulders. "Oh Peter....it will be okay"

Brian's Mom came down and stood eye to eye with Justin. He was taller than she, and it made her feel.....small. "It's that boy's fault my son was shot!!!!" she cried again, pointing at Peter's back.

"MOM!" Cried Brian from the door way of his house. He was bandaged up and limping but he was there. "Stop it please....it wasn't Peter's fault. It wasn't Peter's fault!" he said leaning against the door frame.

Peter could feel his heart breaking, as he let out a few whimpers that he couldn't hold. It wasn't his fault was it? He was trying to protect Justin. Maybe if he had stayed back while Justin was able to get to the house safely.

Justin turned to see his cousin probably whimpering on Miley's shoulder, then turned to Brian's mom. "Excuse me? I was there. Not even the police officer could control that guy!"

Jen saw that Peter was crying and knew he would not want Brian to see it. So, she quickly walked to Brian's side. "How are you holding up?"

Brian made a face and looked at Jen worriedly. "I'm pretty good. But...but....what's going on!?" he cried and looked at Peter, then at his Mother. "Mom really! Stop blaming Peter. It's not his fault it's mine. He wasn't even out there when that guy shot me, I tried to help."

His Mom made a face, glared at Justin and stomped inside the house.

Miley gently took Peter by the shoulders and led him to Justin's car. She opened the back seat and let him slip and she slipped in after him. After the door was shut, and no one could see or hear, Miley hugged her little cousin. "It's going to be alright Peter....this bad day will end soon"
